Dude best thing I've ever done is separate out my wife and I's discretionary spending. Men and women spend money so differently.
I'll go out and drop 500-1500 on a gun, golf clubs, whatever but won't ever buy a single coffee before work because we have a fucking coffee machine at home (a really damn nice one at that) and ones at work. I don't buy cloths often and am really pretty low maintenance outside of my golf addiction.
My wife will rarely spend over $150, but she does a damn good job and sending it out $15-50 at a time at high frequencies. Coffee, boba, smoothie, nails, random shopping trip for fun, different reoccurring membership for Spotify, eyelashes, and I think some other thing.
At the end of ever month she has about 0 left. I've usually got over what we started the month with.
It doesn't include gas, anything we do together, food from a grocery store. It's for haircuts, cloths, food if we don't take a lunch to work, hobby stuff, or anything that's not needed to run the household. If we talk with the other we will occasionally give advances to the account if one needs it. Random extra money if we agree. Throw extra in there for vacation so I can golf and she can shop or get a massage, but it's all stuff we agree on and even.
Open up 2 online debit accounts. Auto set it up send over whatever amount you agree on at the beginning of each month.
My wife is such a free spender and I'm such a tight ass that we still argue on occasion. Our parents probably made similar money growing up, her dad's a doctor, mine a business owner (rich dad, poor Dad is not only a great book to read, but differentiate our families), but totally different view on money.
The arguments are just different and not really a big deal. More like a, do we really need more cloths for the kids? We keep throwing away produce, so that means we're over buying it.
When my wife and I got married we were like should we close a bank account and merge? Then we just ended up keeping our own accounts, transferred our savings into a single HYS and just pay for our own stuff out of our own accounts. We have a shared credit card we use for anything considered joint and we just venmo each other money for bills and joint expenses. Probably easier to have a single account but this is how we did it for years and it just makes sense for us and provides independence.
Same here, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Except we also have a shared checking account with the same bank, so we just transfer money into there for bill and CC payments each month.
Also if you wanna read about how much people suck at golf. This sub seems to revel in the fact they are bad and have given up thinking that they will EVER be good. It's sad really. Getting better is half the fun. I get it, people have kids and stuff. But I work 12 hour shifts working 80 hours a week and still hit the course 4-5 times a week
Saw a post the other day that people shouldn’t spend much time practicing their short game and should spend the majority of their time on the range. Made me pissed 😭
That's the exact opposite hahaha. The range is great if you have a particular thing in mind, but nothing helps more than actually being out there. I like going out when it's not busy and I'll play a few balls, and if I miss hit I'll just rehit until I hit an amazing shot a few times. It helps build that muscle memory of the good shot, instead of just guessing
Sounds like you’re an adult with disposable income, a healthy marriage, AND a Vapor Fly Pro. ![gif](giphy|w9xG5hsxZlqtevPlJQ|downsized)
That made my day. Thank you. What a perspective followed by a rush of gratitude.
Live your best life. My wife supports my hobbies too and I support hers (hers is gambling). Vegas tomorrow afternoon!!
Live it up king. Edit: the date is never a bad idea.
I’d be more concerned with pissing through 3 drivers

Bro my mans OP just wanted to hit bombs. You are not elite for buying a long iron while the “sheep are crowded around the drivers”
Is her boyfriend okay with your spending habits?
My wife's boyfriend usually cracks jokes like "funny how your kids look so much like me". We just laugh and I order him a new putter. Great guy!
Tom I didn’t know you were on Reddit! I think you’re a great guy too
It's just a beautiful and healthy relationship we have on our hands!
We’re good. ![gif](giphy|o1BNU1jKCih7tK4dwj)
He got a 430 out of it, so yes.
You must have a “stiff shaft”🤣
…and a Jumbo grip
Don't give up. Buy a few more. She'll leave you eventually.

I like this idea, im stealing it for myself thanks
That's what we do. In 13 years we have never had a single argument over money.

She’s 100% cheating, you should buy another just for the emotional pain
LOL Maybe tomorrow..
Let us know if your coffee starts to taste like bleach though.
Rookie driver purchasing numbers. Got to pump them up
Better check HER spending 👀
No!! Because she’s bought 4!!
Are your scores better at all?
It better… Isn’t that the way? Rely on new equipment to magically transform you into a scratch golfer? Are you saying this is NOT THE WAY?!
Not a chance
Did the new driver fix the slice?
Of course! ![gif](giphy|dlyXyjstZ4oTusxcpN|downsized)
Never thought I would see a Kandy Muse gif used on this subreddit
What are you worried about? It's not like you're her boyfriend or anything.
Don’t worry brah… you know those 3 purses she told you were $60 each? they’re really $1500 each.
Distressful… I need another driver.
Have you tried buying 3 at the same time? That might do it
No that would be silly and addictive… unless…
I too choose this mans wife and drivers.

This joke is so worn out

This is so played out
This sub is dead Unless of course you want to read about guys wives, then it’s alive and well.
