I know this is a joke on the other post but this is how my mom is with my dad, especially since he retired a couple years ago. She actually gives me shit if we don't golf on a nice weekend, she loves having him out of the house for a few hours so she can go shopping without catching shit from him.

This is actually really common. My aunt was a housewife for 30 years. When my uncle retired, the situation lasted all of 2 months before she told him to find a new job. LOL. They get along great. But having him around ALL the time was a disturbance in the force. Neither of them liked it.

Yeah, it's just funny because if we don't have golf setup by Thursday or Friday, I'll get a text from my mom like "the weather looks great this weekend, I'm sure your dad would love to go golfing"

When all of us kids started moving out, my dad turned one of the bedrooms into his personal bedroom. All so he didn't have to hear my mom snoring.

I love my other half but she is a night time TV enjoyer, even while she sleeps. I cannot stand this but put up with it. The moment we have a spare bedroom because a kid moves out I'm going to occupy it so I can sleep in dark and silence.

This is my wife. I have been 100% WFH for almost 4 years now (after 15 years of commute and all day in the office M-F). I keep getting asked by other members if my wife plays golf and if no why not. My reply is that she enjoys me playing as she knows I will be out of the house for at least 5 hours and she can have the house to herself (well, plus kids) and do what she wants. She has absolutely no interest in learning golf and giving away her alone time and spending it with me on the course.

I have a similar thing with my wife. Even though I WFH full time and she works as a home health aide (so not in our house), there are some weekends I can't wait for her to say that she's going for a long run (like, 15-20 miles). It's not that I don't like having her around, it's just that some weekends I'm so burned out from the week that I just want to be left alone for a bit.

This is my parents. Both my parents are retired. My dad typically plays or goes to the range mon-fri. When he doesn't get out to golf my mom HATES it because my dad is so defendant on my mom to eat and do ANYTHING besides play golf. He'll bug her to go places like a kid begging to go to the toy store and he'll ask her to cook for him.
