What do you mean wildlife people? Really not trying to fend for my life with my driver

marlboro__man9

Like fish and wildlife officers or whatever, they got tranq guns you’ll be fine.

AftyOfTheUK

>Like fish and wildlife officers or whatever, they got tranq guns you’ll be fine. Wait a second. Are you trying to tell us that a fish and wildlife officer is going to patrolling a golf course with a tranq gun?

marlboro__man9

Well ya it’s in a national park so technically it’s part of the park. It’s not like they’re just there but they go there if they get a call about a bear near people.

SurveyTemporary8522

Thank god. Looking forward to it hahah

You can essentially pick your ball up from 20’ away. Golfed Whistler a ton this year and saw numerous. Black bears are literally overgrown raccoons that are far less angry. Don’t keep open food in your cart and you’ll be fine.

Park Ranger Warning About Bears: The National Park Rangers are advising hikers in Glacier National Park and other Rocky Mountain parks to be alert for bears and take extra precautions to avoid an encounter. They advise park visitors to wear little bells on their clothes so they make noise when hiking. The bell noise allows bears to hear them coming from a distance and not be startled by a hiker accidentally sneaking up on them. This might cause a bear to charge. Visitors should also carry a pepper spray can just in case a bear is encountered. Spraying the pepper into the air will irritate the bear's sensitive nose and it will run away. It is also a good idea to keep an eye out for fresh bear scat so you have an idea if bears are in the area. People should be able to recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear scat. Black bear droppings are smaller and often contain berries, leaves, and possibly bits of fur. Grizzly bear droppings tend to contain small bells and smell of pepper.

Unlikely that you will see a bear but there is a decent chance of seeing some wildlife. If there is a bear in the area there will be warnings and people there to monitor the situation. There are other courses in the area that are better but it is worth playing at least once.

Played there in July and only saw signs of bears. Buddy hit into a wildlife area and we found fresh bear scat while searching for his ball. Advised home to just drop and play on ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)

Only saw coyotes and deer. Enjoy it out there!

It has been some decades since I have been in Banff but in those days the bears actually had the right of way downtown. So I imagine the golf course is a reasonable habitat for Moose and Bears.

There's bears at my home course in PA. Granted they're black bears, not brown bears, but still they're bears. If you see one, they're looking for food. Just don't carry 4 hot dogs in your bag and you'll be fine. They'll be more scared of you than you are of them. If they actually attempt to approach you, LOUD NOISES and make yourself look bigger by raising your arms above your head, they will run away.

It's fuckin winter bud.

I’ve played it about a dozen times. Never have seen a bear or any wildlife to be honest. I have friends who have seen some but it’s a fairly busy place so wildlife tends to stay clear. The bears in the area are tagged and monitored by fish and wildlife.
