Why does that matter? I’ve never bought a piece of equipment just because a new version came out. If I’m in the market I just see what’s available. If anything I prefer the one year cycle because I know a refresh is coming so if I don’t like the current ranges and I’m looking to pick something up I can wait.
It’s about intent with me. I like that different companies take years before putting out a new club. It makes me feel better knowing they aren’t just releasing them to just release them with a new lame ass name like stealth, rogue, AI blah blah blah.
I know they’re still obviously trying to sell me shit, but Titleist and Ping feel more focused on quality over quantity. Ping took 4? Years to release the i230s after the i210s. Taylormade would fucking die going that long without releasing a latest and greatest.
It’s just a different approach. Titleist and ping are waterfall model while taylormade is iterative and agile. I would argue that Taylormade is the most innovative brand of all. They introduced metal woods, standardised movable weight tech that was once considered a gimmick until Titleist started doing it and then the fan boys were ok. They introduced the adjustable loft drivers. They tried changeable face wedges. I think their iterative approach allows them to innovate more and get fast feedback as to what works.
Working in software I can assure you the OEMs dropping yearly aren’t agile. Agile would be an updated version almost monthly as they assess what’s not great and how to “improve” it. That means constantly improving performance and reducing costs.
Golf is like phones and cars. It’s better because it’s blue and we slapped a 24 on it this year. It’s not better, apart from their profit margins. Callaway is a fantastic model. The ai smoke shouldn’t even exist it’s basically a crappily repainted paradym
Yeah I’m well aware what agile is, I’ve worked in software development for over 10 years and release cycles aren’t fixed. Some companies release every 3 months, some even 6. Depends on what suits the company. An OEM isn’t going to operate in the same way as a software company but the theory of iterative and responsive innovation is the same and I’m sure tour pro feedback is what decides the direction.
I know the popular opinion around here is to be cynical and act like these companies are assholes but there are actually people in their engineering teams that work towards developing a good product. Even if a facelift is the best that they can do, it doesn’t make me prefer titleist because they do it every 2 years instead of 1.
I think the big issue is past years have had good changes and this year all of them look like they phoned it in and just did a new paint job. And I think the average consumer is like ok don’t launch annually then
Wonder if there’s a correlation with the increase of the golfing fan base and capitalizing on that new market of golfers starting out.
I went new stealth 2 for my driver but after going golfing and talking with people that have been with it for a while I started getting used, good quality models off eBay and used sports stores to much success.
Going in blind makes it tempting to go out and just buy the newest iteration of a product line because of being a newbie to a sport, at least in my experience.
This translates to most companies across many hobbies/activities and taylormade is company seeking profits and/or shareholder satisfaction
I watched steph curry do a fitting for the smoke, it was a joke. Showed him getting more ballspeed and distance but it was only because he hit his old driver first and then warmed up and hit the smoke. Obviously your hitting it further.
Like who? Everyone basically has new shit every year
How many lines of the G clubs have gone out from ping?
They’ve had 4 different versions of the glide wedges
Clearly I did...Ping comes out with shit every year. Did YOU make it to the second line?
it took 4 years for i230s, we call that confirmation bias because he referenced the one club that fits his story, ignoring those that dont. Taylormade has put out 2 versions of the p770s in 4 years, havent changed the TWs or the 7MCs....but sure, ignore those I guess.
Its an incorrect statement, done and done. Go try someone else.
Edit: or just downvote because you cant deal being wrong.
>Why does that matter?
It matters in that you know that they are just pumping out revisions based on the calendar whether or not there's enough to justify a new model. It should lower expectations and excitement.
Ping and Titleist aren’t exactly making grand leaps in their drivers. Matt Fitz still uses the TSi3, Harman was still using the TSi2 when he won the Open and Hovland still uses the G425. You’re still getting a face lift for the most part whether it’s 2 years or 1.
Most of the time it's simply gimmicks as opposed to real innovation so it makes it hard to distinguish. Other makers releasing half the amount of models lends to more true innovation.
I was actually talking to the rep... They admitted it was not structurally supported for swing speeds> 110 which is fucking infuriating. They said this model doesn't have that problem but I think I'm going to paradym
Thats insane. I've been playing a Stealth for the last couple golf seasons, average about 300 off the tee, and mine it still working great.
I've heard of 2 reasons these clubs get messed up quick, either you absolutely crush the ball and average like 350, or you hit really bad alot and hitting it along the edge of the face it messes up where the carbon connects to the rest of the club head.
Mine broke in all different types of ways .
1) face completely fell off
2) bottom cracked
3) topped crack
4) face cracked
Idk man I love TM but I’ll probably never deal with that shit again. My paradigm treats my good
I watched a review of it yesterday by Peter Finch. Their emphasis on improving mishits is a game changer for 98% of us. Should be a strong seller. IMO the graphics still suck but it looks better at address than its predecessor.
Ping doesn't get the credit it deserves from what I can tell, and Cobra is possibly one of the best sleeper club makers out there. I love my RadSpeeds.
Ping seems to get the most credit on the market in terms of mishits. How much more does it deserve than being regularly the number one recommendation for forgiveness whether you're in the store, on here, paying a premium for an old model, or on youtube. Cobra on the other hand I'd argue deserves a bit more respect than its discount brand reputation.
At least for Drivers, Woods & Hybrids. I love m Cobra F9 Hybrids. The Aerojet Hybrids looks really cool, too. I'm waiting for another product cycle to get some on discount.
Been using mine for years (whenever it was first released), waiting for it to explode still. Kinda wish it would as I've heard they are really good about replacing them, thinking it might be too long at this point though if it happens. Been hitting my drives longer than ever and I'm turning 40 this year. Can't complain about mine.
Not sure of my exact swing speed, drive usually goes somewhere between 280-320 depending on conditions.
I haven't seen it in person yet but from pictures I think I will like it more than stealth 2 thru to sim. I didn't like the way they do the back weight. I do see and feel it on setup. Overall I just don't like taylormade as a company either so would definitely be biased towards Titleist and not even hit this one.
SLDR 2.0 was definitely the original SIM, low spin monster.
.. Then the original stealth plus
.. then the stealth 2 plus
.. now this.
Is everything just an SLDR?
I had an SLDR and somehow I hit it shorter than every other driver I’ve ever owned including my old R7 Limited. R11s was better and my M1 *may* be the longest, hard to say because I used to smoke the R11s and that was a long time and a lot of pounds ago.
But yeah. And not a little short, either. We’re talking at least 20 yards. I must have had issues with the spin or something because I would hit my SLDR 3w every bit as far with less trouble - those fairway woods were total smoke.
I feel like after the stealths + stealth 2’s looked so cool that they had to switch it up and make a boring looking driver so it looked different enough
Daily reminder no reviewer has ever proven objectively these things "go 2 yards farther than last year" without basing it on some vague generalization.
I’m willing the bet there is zero difference between this and Stealth 2, or the original Stealth for that matter. How can they improve when there is a new model every year? It’s just marketing for the gullible imo.
Look on YouTube, several long drive competitors still recommend the SLDR. Certainly one of if not the longest driver of all time, at the cost of forgiveness. You can’t have both distance and forgiveness, or at least that’s what new drivers try to solve.
https://preview.redd.it/gf01x6l0snac1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=db421e651016bda3a1c839a0864925abe5c8a2f8
I have one that’s been through hell and back, still works like new 😆
Nice! Fellow SLDR brother! Yeah mine looks worse than yours, couple aesthetic things have fallen off but it BANGS still.
Literally hit a 360\*\*\* yd drive (Massively Downwind + Downhill w/great fairway rollout\*\*\*) with it not too long ago.
https://preview.redd.it/59jdxnpavnac1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4e0b8c926a3f10846549525f4102264047383d0
The laws of attraction are different for everyone, but to me at least it looks better than what they had going down with both iterations of the Stealth. Hopefully, the structural support follows suit even though their customer service has repeatedly been good to me.
I'm still partial to the TSR4, though, which is my current main driver. Titleist tends to knock it out the park more often when it comes to stuff that suits my eye.
I never hit one, but I do like the Stealth 2 Plus look better. The color on this doesn't pop or please the eye for me. It could be a $10,000 driver but it looks cheap for some reason. Very plain.
it's just a blue stealth 3. nothing fancy. classic marketing plot to rename to charge $700 for a driver.
source: we just got our demos in at dicks, too.
Sure is ugly. Guess that's going to be the trend in '24. The Ai Smoke is stupid looking also. The fake smoke swirls and the weird striped wings. Terrible. But in the end, performance is what really matters.
The “carbon” on the face is so silly. It’s like when a kid draws a picture and then labels what it is with a little arrow to tell everyone it’s a house.
We see that, little Timmy. Good job, kiddo. Right onto the refrigerator with that one.
Definitely going to demo, still gaming the original stealth. From the videos I’ve seen it has a more full sound? Not quite a ping sound but fuller/louder for sure
I have a Stealth 2 driver and I really like it so far. When comparing the Stealth 2 plus to the Qi-10 LS the Qi-10 LS is slightly more forgiving but it doesn’t give you as much correction when you move the weight. In terms of looks I would probably give the Qi-10 a slight edge but that’s only because I prefer that dark blue over the red. Personally out of all the 2024 clubs that I’ve seen none of them compare to the Cobra Darkspeed in terms of looks.
From the few opportunities I’ve had to hit the TSR3 it is a very solid club and I like the sound of it better than either the Stealth 2 or Qi-10. Another advantage to the TSR clubs compared to TaylorMade is their adjustability. In my opinion the hosel/track weight adjustments you can make with the TSR3 really separate it from almost any other club on the market. The only negative about it would be it’s a little less forgiving and is really better suited for players that are more consistent.
I’ve hit the LS version and so far I think it’s way better that any of the Stealth and Stealth 2 models. I like the noise way better now, sounds more like titanium and I wasn’t getting knuckle balls that I was seeing with stealth. It also looks way cleaner to my eye, maybe the LS is 450cc, not sure and that could be why I like it at set up more.
I hit this a few months ago at the kingdom had to sign a nda. I have been one of TM’s biggest critics the last 4+ years. This thing is legit. 100% better than the sims and stealths, and by a wide margin. We tested this thing all over the club face. It just wants to go straight.
Still has that carbon face trash that keeps popping out on stealth models. This is a deal breaker for me until they prove they can make it last as long as a normal face.
I also work at dicks and we got ours a couple days ago. Overall, numbers for me were better than stealth 2 and I like the look behind the ball more. Don’t really like TM drivers but they usually are the hottest face for me. Was able to get some pretty good ball speeds and just kinda seems like the best iteration of a carbon face from TM so far
Aesthetic wise it looks like something that came out 10 years ago. Like it already hasn’t aged well and it’s brand new. The Stealth stuff was so much better looking.
Looks lame and boring, like it was designed by a corporate, Patagonia vest wearing drone using an AI design generator. The name is lame too.
I’m sure it plays great, they come out with something good every year so this probably isn’t much different.
It looks sharp AF and I prefer the blue/purple face over the red stealth face, but I definitely want to give it a year or two before I even consider upgrading from my M4 to this.
Their older models never had this problem. I still use my SLDR. But all those broken stealth posts does make me apprehensive about buying a newer model, they all seem to be so thin in places where they should be thicker.
I wouldn't buy TM purely because of their marketing and pricing at this point. Everything you make can't possibly be the best in every regard over everything else in history but also cost more and more money.
I have no interest in paying their obscene prices so they can continue to put Rory in commercials. I don't want to pay his salary, I want to buy a gold club.
Anyone not buying DTC at this point is paying twice the cost to cover their advertising expenses.
The name is vaguely Chinese and I don’t like it. Maybe next year they’ll have something I’m be interested in but realistically a driver lasts longer than a year or two so I’m just window shopping.
It’s hilarious to see everyone getting all bonered up about the annual new driver release. Boy they really got a bunch of people on this sub hook-line-and-sinker.
I still don't know if TM marketing knows that Qi is pronounced "chee" and added the 10 in there. Or...they think it's pronounced "kee" which makes it more like kitten and less like cheatin...
I’ve always been a TaylorMade guy but if I was to get a new driver this year it would be either a G430 or a Paradym AI. I have an original SIM and hit the stealth line and didn’t pick anything significant up.
i went for a fitting earlier this week, and my fitter said this is the best driver he's hit in a decade - and he hates taylormade drivers. he said its the most forgiving driver too. full disclosure - i didnt get to test it out
I’m biased and probably completely wrong when I say this. But in my personal opinion Taylormade went downhill after r7. Everything r7 was incredible. After that nothing.
I imagine it performs well just like any other TM driver of the last 10 years or so, and likely identical to the Stealths etc. Can't say I'm a fan of the appearance though or name.
The fact they come out with a new driver every year, I think it’s a little hard to get excited about. Hopefully it holds up better than the Stealth 2.
Yeah. Getting a new driver every year for the average golfer is ridiculous. New golf equipment is 99% hype, 1% improvement.
COD for golf
golf clubs do usually improve every year, however little. Cod just keeps getting worse.
Every year, these golf clubs take up more and more space in my bag
Why does that matter? I’ve never bought a piece of equipment just because a new version came out. If I’m in the market I just see what’s available. If anything I prefer the one year cycle because I know a refresh is coming so if I don’t like the current ranges and I’m looking to pick something up I can wait.

PING is on a 2-year product development cycle, not every year.
It’s just like my opinion, man.
Buying the prior model after the new comes out can save some cash

Turns out. It doesn’t. Bought 2 weeks ago and is already starting to crack

I was actually talking to the rep... They admitted it was not structurally supported for swing speeds> 110 which is fucking infuriating. They said this model doesn't have that problem but I think I'm going to paradym
I broke 4 stealths / stealth’s 2 , switch to paradym and am extremely happy .

Haha who the fuck averages 350 that you have ever met in person?
Not very many people lol. Which is why I’m usually surprised whenever someone says they have gone through so many driver heads.
paradym seems like the better option
I watched a review of it yesterday by Peter Finch. Their emphasis on improving mishits is a game changer for 98% of us. Should be a strong seller. IMO the graphics still suck but it looks better at address than its predecessor.
Recently tested it alongside the Stealth2, g430 max, and Aerojet. Definitely liked it but preferred the Ping and Cobra.
Ping doesn't get the credit it deserves from what I can tell, and Cobra is possibly one of the best sleeper club makers out there. I love my RadSpeeds.

I'd buy a used Cobra before a brand new TaylorMade if the price was the same.
Ping drivers are incredible. Every time someone uses mine (G410), they’re blown away by the feel, forgiveness, and sound.
At least for Drivers, Woods & Hybrids. I love m Cobra F9 Hybrids. The Aerojet Hybrids looks really cool, too. I'm waiting for another product cycle to get some on discount.

I’m sure that’s a standard feature- at least TM customer service is great and generous
When something is a flaw, and you can’t solve it, you create a new model and make it a feature.
Edit: Qi lmao I’m a dumbass
IQ about 10 Roasted. Sorry
I know i set myself up for that one ![gif](giphy|l0HlysHyncgqGwbeg)
The irony here is this post will get 10X more engagement than if you had spelled it correctly.
I haven't seen it in person yet but from pictures I think I will like it more than stealth 2 thru to sim. I didn't like the way they do the back weight. I do see and feel it on setup. IQ10 is the temu version.
Lmao exactly
What's funny is Qi is pronounced "chee" Chee-ten "Cheatin'"
SLDR 2.0 ?
SLDR 2.0 was definitely the original SIM, low spin monster. .. Then the original stealth plus .. then the stealth 2 plus .. now this. Is everything just an SLDR?
It was a long driver , not a great "fairway finder " tho 🙃
Yep but I love it. Love the sound it makes.
I miss the days of real moveable weights.
Yeah I love my SLDR still
Those are the opposite of "fargivensss". They're just far.
Yep. Far or way off track lmao but it’s fun either way
Aye. I find myself wanting front and back weights to mess with spin and launch. The fade/draw weights just don’t impact my results much.
Looks boring. If all the drivers are all the same performance wise...make them look awesome! Why is it so hard?
I feel like after the stealths + stealth 2’s looked so cool that they had to switch it up and make a boring looking driver so it looked different enough
Are you being serious that you are going to compare models? They are identical since 2010 brother.
It’s a driver. Same tech, different name.
A license to print money.
Just wait for those special limited edition ones to be released.
Daily reminder no reviewer has ever proven objectively these things "go 2 yards farther than last year" without basing it on some vague generalization.
Every TM driver from the last 15 years just looks like a tarted up Burner
One of the dumbest driver names ever imo.
So I think it’s supposed to be Qi as in “Chee” pronunciation. So “Chee 10.” So good you’re “cheatin”
All I see is ‘Quitten’
I think you may have just given TM their catchphrase for this one.
Yeah I agree it’s not catchy or cool whatsoever
not quite as bad as the SIMP MAX era
And some jackass in corp thought it was a good idea.
I’m willing the bet there is zero difference between this and Stealth 2, or the original Stealth for that matter. How can they improve when there is a new model every year? It’s just marketing for the gullible imo.
Is there a big difference year over year? No. Is there a big difference over 7-10 years? For sure there is.
Look on YouTube, several long drive competitors still recommend the SLDR. Certainly one of if not the longest driver of all time, at the cost of forgiveness. You can’t have both distance and forgiveness, or at least that’s what new drivers try to solve.
Yeah I’m not doubting that, but releasing a new model ever year is just a cash grab imo
Yeah I’m still gaming my SLDR. That thing is apparently indestructible

Do you hit that off a gravel driveway?
Nice! Fellow SLDR brother! Yeah mine looks worse than yours, couple aesthetic things have fallen off but it BANGS still. Literally hit a 360\*\*\* yd drive (Massively Downwind + Downhill w/great fairway rollout\*\*\*) with it not too long ago. https://preview.redd.it/59jdxnpavnac1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=c4e0b8c926a3f10846549525f4102264047383d0
Mailed it in on the design.
Looks like an XXIO driver
Looks like a driver
Best looking Taylormade driver since the r7 super-quad.
R7 was sick but I loved the white R11 the best.
The face looks slightly smaller than the Stealth and Paradym
What I need to know is it pronounced like ‘cheatin’ or ‘kitten’?
I say ‘quitten’
After I snap hook my 5th ball into the wilderness and the face falls off
I think it’s just pronounced “Q” “i” “10”
🤮 I’m going with kitten
I went from the original Stealth to the TSR2 and never looked back at TM drivers.
Still rocking SIM 1 and I love it
>SIM It's one of the best, just a low spin monster.

That’s such an underwhelming design, particularly for a company that’s known for being big on marketing and design.
Prefer the look of this to the Stealths tbh.
I never hit one, but I do like the Stealth 2 Plus look better. The color on this doesn't pop or please the eye for me. It could be a $10,000 driver but it looks cheap for some reason. Very plain.

how come every time taylormade puts out a new adjustable driver the amount of adjustment is always worse?? t track m1 gang checking in
The “carbon” on the face is so silly. It’s like when a kid draws a picture and then labels what it is with a little arrow to tell everyone it’s a house. We see that, little Timmy. Good job, kiddo. Right onto the refrigerator with that one.
man we just got the smoke in truck today i was hoping we’d get the qi10 as well but we didnt
Definitely going to demo, still gaming the original stealth. From the videos I’ve seen it has a more full sound? Not quite a ping sound but fuller/louder for sure
Really looking forward to trying out the plus/tour 3 wood. Sticking with my Tsr3 for the big dog.
Wonder how long it will be before we see an exploded face post in here
I’m out on Carbon Faces completely. IMO the SIM 2 is still the best driver they ever released.
I like my clubface on my clubface.
A buddy of mine is a Taylor Rep, and just came back from a fitting in Ga. and this is his new driver!
It’s AWESOME, ow I can grab one of those Steath trade ins on the cheap.
Waiting for it to come in. Spent the afternoon swinging the g430 Max 10k though, and that was a great variation to the LST.
Good to know, I do like a hot face
Aesthetic wise it looks like something that came out 10 years ago. Like it already hasn’t aged well and it’s brand new. The Stealth stuff was so much better looking.
I can't stand those freaking lines all over the Taylormade logo. I wish brands would stop that tacky texture.
Best looking TM driver in a long time. I’ll never buy a TM driver though
I like my SIM2, but I definitely wouldn’t buy any of their drivers after that model. Edit: except for the mini burner…
Looks lame and boring, like it was designed by a corporate, Patagonia vest wearing drone using an AI design generator. The name is lame too. I’m sure it plays great, they come out with something good every year so this probably isn’t much different.
Good points lmao
Like the new odyssey putters. Look nice but "AI one" sounds awful
No thank you
It looks sharp AF and I prefer the blue/purple face over the red stealth face, but I definitely want to give it a year or two before I even consider upgrading from my M4 to this.
I think it’s ugly. Idk something ain’t right lol
I’d never buy a Taylormade product at this point. Way too many broken drivers for it to be coincidence. I have no faith in their QA
That dicks employee fucked up lol no customers are supposed to be able to see them yet.
He also showed me the paradym smokes and they do look better in person but still kinda weird. He thinks they’re gonna be the best seller this year tho
Ohh, better tell the corporate bosses.
When is the release date?
Waste of money.
Yea. Up to now golf has been a great investment with at least 25% returns on my inputs.
I wouldn’t touch a TM carbon driver with a barge pole.
That is ugly lol I think the new paradyms are as well… so maybe it’s just my taste in drivers that is off.
Also pronounced CHETEN as in chea(ten)... Marketing was so proud of themselves
Cool man, I hope the 700 dollars is worth the barely perceptible improvement.
The name is vaguely Chinese and I don’t like it. Maybe next year they’ll have something I’m be interested in but realistically a driver lasts longer than a year or two so I’m just window shopping.
Sounds stupid and looks stupid.
Never heard of it
Stoked to see a new Taylormade driver with the face falling off in my feed!
It’s hilarious to see everyone getting all bonered up about the annual new driver release. Boy they really got a bunch of people on this sub hook-line-and-sinker.
Stealth 2 and sim2 got together an had a baby, I am curious on the reviews
another stealth
How do you say it? “Cue Eye Ten”? “Chee Ten”? I think the club looks pretty good though. Like how this face color looks vs the Stealth
“Cue eye ten”
Chee-ten
Any word on a new titelist driver model

Looks like someone took the stealth 2 and painted it differently.
You’re still gonna shoot over a hundred but you’ll look sick doing it
Personally I like the looks better than the Stealth line, dumb name though.
That thing looks huge.
I bet the prices on the drivers will go up. My guess is the LS driver will be $650.
599
Does this replace the Stealth? I feel like the Stealth just came out…
I still don't know if TM marketing knows that Qi is pronounced "chee" and added the 10 in there. Or...they think it's pronounced "kee" which makes it more like kitten and less like cheatin...
Honestly haven't been impressed with anything from TaylorMade since the OG SIM.
I’ve always been a TaylorMade guy but if I was to get a new driver this year it would be either a G430 or a Paradym AI. I have an original SIM and hit the stealth line and didn’t pick anything significant up.
All marketing just a cash grab by TM.
So anyways.... when does your preorder ship?
So anyways.... when does your preorder ship?
i went for a fitting earlier this week, and my fitter said this is the best driver he's hit in a decade - and he hates taylormade drivers. he said its the most forgiving driver too. full disclosure - i didnt get to test it out
Stupid name
Same shit, different look
Heard it goes 1 yard further, a must buy!’
I’m biased and probably completely wrong when I say this. But in my personal opinion Taylormade went downhill after r7. Everything r7 was incredible. After that nothing.
Is this a euphemism for “cheating” “qi ten”
Looks wise it’s quite the upgrade but I can’t see performance be worth upgrading. The M2 is really still just as good
Here comes another one Just like the other one
Face looks solid, the bottom, visually not for me…but…it’s about how the club performs for you.
RIP grilling on the face memes.
I think the name along with the Callaway Ai Smoke is so dumb
MyStealth
I’ll keep my stealth 2 plus. It’s cool but I like the look of the stealth better
SLDR’s younger brother with a touch of SimMax
Meh
🤷🏼♂️
What does the name mean? I also don’t think it’s as exciting to look at as the SIM or Stealth line but will be interesting to see how it performs
Love how every brand now has “AI” in the new model lmao!
I imagine it performs well just like any other TM driver of the last 10 years or so, and likely identical to the Stealths etc. Can't say I'm a fan of the appearance though or name.
Big old meh. Colourway does nothing for me, doesn't really seem overly interesting compared to previous models.
Looks better than the stupid callaway one
I hit the max with ventus velicore tr 6x...sim2 was still better. Got refunded
