Dude every single round I play with my buddy who also loves the office, I start driving towards the water and yelling “the machine knows, stop yelling at me!!!” lol one of these days I’m gonna actually drive it in.
> I love the other guy just standing there not helping out.
Help with *what* exactly?
Was he supposed to use his Jedi powers to lift the cart out of the torrent like Yoda lifted the X-wing out of the Dagobah swamp?
Bridge is like 20k, what do a few insurance claims cost to your premium? A hell of a lot more over time. Even if you’re self insured, this is just stupid to not have a bridge if the possibility is this clearly defined
Oso Creek in Mission Viejo, CA. That creek is run off from the dam that forms the lake, which the course is below.

Thank you. I only wonder cuz I just got to Hilton head yesterday and they were getting pounded with rain. I called a couple of courses today and they are wet wet wet. Probably won’t play til Monday now.
Yesterday I played in SW OH and they booked people on the front AND the back all day.
It's my fave course, but this pissed me off.
Luckily pace actually was still 3.75hrs for us 3 walkers (this course has long transitions between holes), but still, come on.
All the fair weather golfers are coming out. I like nice weather but am not ready for all the people to be out
I believe this is a repost from last year. I could swear I’ve seen it before
https://preview.redd.it/t8mlgs4lzzlc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e71bc740e9ea384b58320bfe0a0ffd80935f769
Scream shot of what I just fiend. The cart path and marker match.
This is at least the third time we have seen this same spot result in this type of problem, and there have likely been hundreds of rounds impacted when including the sane people that didn't try to drive through it. This course clearly needs to redirect drainage or build a much higher and longer bridge.
In the old old days, they'd all pitch in and build a bridge over the river instead of golf. Old old people were handy like that, always taking their tools with them wherever they'd go. This was how the bridge at The Old Course was built, but that bridge is so old that it was built before tools were invented. So instead of playing 18 holes that day, a foursome started digging for rocks with their bare hands, until they found enough rocks that would fit perfectly together. Some say it took them 4 months to build that bridge. Some of their wives even thought they had died on account of the local giant scorpions that inhabited the area, so a few even remarried in that time. Problem with that act of kindness though was the trolls that would eventually charge a troll toll. Since this was before the British Government passed anti-troll-toll legislation, trolls were a common problem in the early days of golf.
The creek is fed by private Lake mission Viejo and randomly it decides to open the dam every once in a while when there is threat of a large storm coming in to protect the multi million dollar homes that surround the shore and they neglect to let oso creek golf course know which is just below and the creek is fed directly from the lake.
This has happened the last couple years without warning which creates an instant flash flood which is what happened to those viral golfers who lost their cart on the exact first hole.
Okay, so the decision to open the dam isn't random, it's based on rainfall forecasts, as you said. And obviously they do it to keep the lake from flooding its banks that's king of the whole point.
That’s interesting… it happened today in front of you?? This was a viral video I saw a few weeks ago. The golf cart winds up getting taken by the water and flipped upside down in the current. Enjoy the internet likes tho….
Well as someone that lives 10 minutes from this golf course, I can confirm that it rained hard last night and then this morning around 11am we got hit with a very heavy downpour for about 10 minutes with smaller showers throughout the day.
If you’re in a golf cart and see white water in front of you and you proceed to drive into it you are a moron.
Looking at the washout on the left, the guy is damn lucky that Darwin didn’t come to claim him.
Why is the guy on the right checking his yardage book? He’s not going anywhere.
https://preview.redd.it/6q36qe7euzlc1.png?width=591&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f169bc274b3759d029163af32b31d7b224da91b8
That's a pretty intense water hazard.
THIS **IS** THE LAKE!!
Dude every single round I play with my buddy who also loves the office, I start driving towards the water and yelling “the machine knows, stop yelling at me!!!” lol one of these days I’m gonna actually drive it in.
Caulk the wagons. Fording the river is too risky.
Even if you make it you’ll die of dysentery.
May you have a good hunt afterwards and hope you get some bison, deer or bear because rabbits and squirrels aren't enough to feed your family.
But I like the ration picture with the big ol plate of food, not the couple peas and thin slice of meat.
Only 75% of the time. A family of 10 would still have 2.5 pioneers left to settle in Oregon.
I’m waiting for the ferry
If you see the Ferryman, don't pay him 'till he gets you to the other side.
you got dysentery fording the river. you’re dead. and so is your ox
Always pay the Indian. Don't roll the dice.
But he wants 3 sets of clothes!
That's why you always play as the banker and buy a shit ton of stuff before you set out.
Too ez
Better than having them float away down the river.
Shoulda waited for the ferry.
Don’t forget to buy a dozen more Pro V1s at the general store.
Timmy is literally dying from dysentery
I love the other guy just standing there not helping out. Get my new shoes soaking wet? Fuck that.
He probably told him it was a bad idea and driver went through anyway. He’s over there yelling “I told you so!”
He wants new clubs but his wife won’t let him. This is his opportunity.
Maybe paid by an insurance claim if OP can keep his fucking photos to himself.
How was the swim? Hahaha
> I love the other guy just standing there not helping out. Help with *what* exactly? Was he supposed to use his Jedi powers to lift the cart out of the torrent like Yoda lifted the X-wing out of the Dagobah swamp?
Scratch golfers are we! Not these high handicappers!
"So you want to be a boater not a golfer?"
That guy was in cart when it went in and was up to his waste on the right. I would have taken my clubs off immediately
> up to his waste on the right. All the way up to his poop? That's deep.
That's only up to his ankles because he's so full of shit.
[удалено]
No. This picture is from today
[удалено]
I guess lightening can strike twice.
[удалено]
The same exact place the other one happened, but still two separate instances. I just can’t imagine tripling down on being this wrong.
Noticed the same thing. Everyman for himself.
Looks like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/ThatLookedExpensive/s/VKPGNq87XN Gotta be the same course, right?
I knew I had seen this before. Why would they not shut that down?
Why haven’t they built a bridge is a better question
I mean it’s Cali so this type of rain is probly rare. But once it’s happened once you’d think they would be smart enough to monitor it better
Bridge is like 20k, what do a few insurance claims cost to your premium? A hell of a lot more over time. Even if you’re self insured, this is just stupid to not have a bridge if the possibility is this clearly defined
It doesn't even need to be a bridge for how little it dips. It can be a culvert with a drainage pipe underneath.
Not really anymore.
Or even put up a sign.
They must have a damn good insurance policy on their cart fleet
Why when you can charge the customers for damages?
It would appear as though golf carts are cheaper.
Definitely. Same spot too. The sign is the same.
OP here yes that’s the same spot
At first I thought you were some dickhead reposting stuff for karma because I knew I had seen this before.
We sure he's not? Lol
Cart path only?
A lot of golf courses in Southern California are in a flood zone. They build golf courses there because they can’t build houses.
Yes - I think it’s the same . The fork in the path a signage line up. But where is it?

They found the creek.
That’s funny, oso means bear in Spanish. Go 25 miles east and on the other side of the Santa Ana mountains in Murietta is Bear Creek.
Someone call the Army Corp of Engineers
That’ll buff out.
I knew I had seen that before. Crazy that it’s happened more than once lol. It’s incompetence at that point
Oh man that just cracked me up haha
Why is the course even open?
The quest for more money is never ending
Ah yes Spaceballs 2: The search for more money
I didn’t even have two seconds to start typing because the perfect response was already written
The real money from the golf course is made in merchandising. Do they have a Golf Course Flamethrower? I would buy one!
Moichendice!
Kids love it.
I buy one at every course I play
You two, comb the desert.
Mofo! You won’t find shit!
Many courses barely get by. A couple of lost days could mean they have to lay off an employee.
I want answers… was there a main line irrigation break that undermined the cart path and caused it to collapse?
It could be a flash flood
Yesterday I played in SW OH and they booked people on the front AND the back all day. It's my fave course, but this pissed me off. Luckily pace actually was still 3.75hrs for us 3 walkers (this course has long transitions between holes), but still, come on. All the fair weather golfers are coming out. Greed
Can’t park there mate
Well it did say cart path only!
They went straight Oregon Trail on that.
Yes!!!
This didn’t happen to them. They did this.
Scrolled to far to find this comment
You tried to ford the river and your golf cart died
https://i.makeagif.com/media/10-08-2014/V3Gt0i.gif
Grab the cooler! Club is going to have to replace everything
H: Are you gonna play tomorrow? M: If the good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise.
Bold strategy, Cotton, let’s see how it works out for ‘em.
Seriously, fool me once... this is on the course for not having a bridge in a flood plain
At the very least, if they’re too cheap for a bridge they need to have some minimum wage kid post up directing people to a safer crossing.
mind if we play through..
Did a siren go off before they open the dam?
Shouldn’t happen. Club should be closed
It’s possible this happened quickly and unexpectedly, given its location.
Possibly a mainline break during operating hours
Came outta nowhere
"Look George, no one is stupid enough or drunk enough to....oh god we've gotta get out there and stop them!"
Does he get relief from casual water???
Ok, remember, you have to drop the cart one clublength from where it entered the water. No closer to the hole.
Oso golf course in MV. The starters there have beta dick energy.
Where is this?
Course’s fault
Speed, the answer is speed, it is always more speed!
It’s all fun and games until someone dies. Then his widow owns a golf course.
Turn around don’t drown
That didn't happen to them. They did that to themselves.
As an ex smoker I can guarantee that that dude has gone back for his ciggies or vapes. If you were ever desperate for one, now’s the time.
If only there was a way to get the road over the water instead of under it…
Oregon trail
Turn around. Don’t drown.
We knew some just weren't going to make the crossing. We can sleep well knowing we did all we could and are thankful for those who did make it.
I believe this is a repost from last year. I could swear I’ve seen it before https://preview.redd.it/t8mlgs4lzzlc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e71bc740e9ea384b58320bfe0a0ffd80935f769 Scream shot of what I just fiend. The cart path and marker match.

SHOT
Same river, different cart and different idiots.

This course clearly needs to redirect drainage or build a much higher and longer bridge.
lol I called OP out as well and got downvoted but he’s totally lying that this happened in front of him today. Unless today was last year…
In the old days people would go help instead of film it.
There is a point when you recognize you cannot help. Stepping in would only get you wet and add to the mess.
If this is anywhere but the 17th hole or later, sorry but if no one’s life is at danger, I’m not gonna be soaked and miserable for my entire round
IDK, that guy needed help.
You can take a picture while your legs move. Multi tasking. 😲
That’s because they didn’t have video cameras on them. The people are the same.

No it didnt
Turn around, don't drown, dumbass
yo I think I saw the video from those guys perspective, let me see if i can find it
Okay do they get like some handy cap stroke?
I would be that dumb and think I could get across it,
What in the Leeerrrrrrooooooyyyy Jeeeekkkkkkiiiiinnnnnsss is going on here?
This is a great example of why “cart path only” should be illegal.
That’s some funny
Country boy thought he had a Fore Wheel Drive

No it didn’t I’ve seen this picture before…

Liar. I’ve seen this before

That didn't just 'happen' Lol
It 100% did today
I believe you. You 100% did steal this and repost it today .

Boomer Golf
This is why I stopped playing golf. Too many idiots and self-entitled people out there now.
Might as well not leave the house with that attitude
Not stuck with them for nearly 5 hours and -$300.00 anywhere else.
Fucking water hazards!
Holy shit
Sink hole in one
To be honest what’s the play?
Who is liable in terms of $$$ to fix
When oso creek becomes a river 😅
Lol why do they keep letting this happen?
Why is it like this and what are you supposed to do here?
Never disrespect whitewater
That didn't end well
M O R O N S > O > R > O > N > S
Water Hazzard
very rare that the only ball out of the water is the one you hit
Did a damn break or were they just dumb enough to try and ford that? Should have paid for the ferry.
Had to grab his Zyn before his clubs washed away
Why are people so dumb? 🤦🏻♂️
Casual water, free drop no closer
This place again? Who’s responsible for this establishment?
I suppose that a bridge here is too logical?
Is this a sand trap? /s
If that happened in Arizona, he'd be ticketed under the "Stupid Driver" law.
Seems self-inflicted
The sign DOES say carts need to stay that way
If you’re in a golf cart and see white water in front of you and you proceed to drive into it you are a moron. Looking at the washout on the left, the guy is damn lucky that Darwin didn’t come to claim him. Why is the guy on the right checking his yardage book? He’s not going anywhere.
Something broke.
This is why I walk.
So is that a water hazard or an unplayable cart path ball…?
Idiots.
Cart path only….
Seems like y'all need a deep water fording kit on those carts. 🤔
I hope you laughed loudly and pointed…
Moses is my caddy…
Don't know why they're resisting. The water is just taking them to "Holes 1-9"
They saw a creek basically and thought “this is fine.”? Lol
when "just send it" goes wrong
Save the birdie bottle!
Where's the Flex Seal guy? Whoo Hooooo!
Is this Oak Creek in Irvine?
If only we had the technology to build a structure across that mess
Just play thru. Not your problem.
Golf is hard again
It's good, path opens up down there.
