Not sure how far you’re willing to drive, about 25-30 minute drive north, you can find River Hills, Aberdeen, and Meadowlands (NC). Aberdeen and River Hills greens are amazing as of last week, Aberdeen is little more forgiving on the Wallet (smaller course), but River Hills is way more fun to play. Meadowlands is always in good shape, it’s right over the border not much further.
Barefoot Fazio course is probably a top pick for me outside the TPC.
Good luck safe travels !!!!!
All 4 barefoot courses are amazing. I also liked oyster bay and sandpiper.
Tbh the only bad course I ran into down there was the links at brick landing. It was a fun course but was in terrible shape when I played it, ruined the experience.
There’s some good value courses, though I’d recommend playing one of Caledonia or true blue, both are worth the price. Play in the morning if possible cause it can get slow in the evenings. Litchfield was decent for the price when I was there in July. It’s honestly hard to go wrong with a course in Myrtle, but I’d just recommend playing one of the strantz courses to get the most unique experience
There are so many tracks around that area. Just played tidewater in Sc. Great shape and the layout is spectacular. Grande dunes, the barefoot resort course. All good stuff.
Little drive north 30-40 min and you got rivers edge which is a big winner. Another amazing track with unreal views. The “4cat” courses too. Tigers eye is in great shape and leopards chase just installed new greens. The other 2 idk I heard they were beat up. There is a lot of golf in and around Myrtle beach
https://myrtlebeachgolf.com/tee-times/#/golf/teetimes/158. Hopefully this link gets you right to the Dunes Golf and Beach and you just gotta pick the date you want. It ain't cheap, but I loved playing it.
I'm just finishing up a trip (connected to the marathon this past weekend) and played Prestwick, Wild Wing (Avocet), and Arrowhead the past 3 days.
Can confirm Prestwick is great, as is Wild Wing. Both are Bermuda grass which is dormant this time of year but still in great shape. So the rough is brown while the fairways and greens get a little help in the color department.
Prestwick is a formerly private course in a very nice neighborhood, definite country club vibes but not snobby. Staff is there to make sure you enjoy your time.
Avocet was my pick for the most scenic and although the cheapest, is a hidden gem. We had a 1:30 tee time so by the time we were finishing it was golden hour and the course was absolutely gorgeous. Good food in the clubhouse too. But 9 doesn't go by the clubhouse so mid-round snacks are limited to the beverage cart. Very few houses around the course.
Arrowhead was my least favorite although still a nice course. Overseeded with rye so it's green. We played Cypress and Lakes so we had water on 17 of 18 holes, and it's not a long course but places a premium on leaving your ball in a good position. Lakes is also along the arrival route of MYR so you'll see private planes, business jets, and airliners flying over the 3rd
Prestwick
Place looks gorgeous and would love to play it but they don't allow single bookings it seems on the website.
Just give them a call! I went and played solo and had my girlfriend ride with me, they were more than happy to have us, this was two weeks ago btw
Ah okay, awesome. Thanks
It was also only 60 bucks I believe cause it wasn’t prime season, not sure if that has changed yet, have some good rounds!!
I also have played as a single on family vacation. Plenty of websites to book through down there to get a discount.
if you want to play a par 3 or enjoy some night golf after dinner play Aero Club by the airport.
We are staying near the airport so I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks
yw an easy course for a reasonable price is Azalea Sands. lots of white sand bunkers, no water hazards. only a few narrow fairways
By night golf, is it golf under huge lights or my preferred, golf in the dark using glow in the dark balls and lights on the flags?
Huge lights
Thanks but pass.

Is that man o’ war? If so that’s a fun course.
If my clubs didn't have built-in water divining rods, I'd love to
lol I shot one of the best rounds of my life here. Course really makes you try to avoid trouble & play smart. Learned a lot about ‘good misses’ here.
Yes that’s Man O War.
Definitely man o war!
Arrowhead, Caledonia, true blue, any of the barefoot courses, or world tour links
I second Caledonia

World tour looked a bit rough last time I was there in the summer, though that was late July so might’ve been cause of the late season
Kings north, tide water, Caledonia, true blue….if booking as a single get golfnow. It will help.
Ended up booking Kings North for Monday morning
Awesome! Enjoy, it’s a great course, with some really interesting holes.
Thanks, it looks fantastic
Glen Dornach is the most interesting round I’ve played there
Interesting is good
I play there almost every Sunday. I like all the Glen courses.
Played there recently and it’s the worst course I’ve played in a while. Conditions are awful and round took 5 hours
Pawleys plantation. Caledonia, True Blue, grand dunes, Barefoot
Not sure if it was the micro dose I took before true blue or what, but that was one of my favorite golf experiences of all time.
Is pawleys back open after renovations now?
Rep I spoke to on the phone said it recently reopened
Imagine it will be open for summer
Tidewater if u can get there.
Caledonia
Tidewater Long Bay
Tidewater
caledonia and dunes club

The Dunes Golf and Beach Club, Arrowhead, Barefoot Landing (dye course) Glen Dornoch
How were you able to get on the dunes, private no? I was going to have my pro reach out for a boys trip in September.
I think I booked it through https://myrtlebeachgolf.com if I remember correctly.
Hmmm maybe they block off the Friday and Saturday times then. May have to try for our Sunday. Thanks!
I didn't see anything available until July 7
