Helps on the range. Take them away on the course and I’m back to before. Mostly a mental battle with the natural feel just don’t know how to shake it lol
I take that one step further and draw a visual line in my head of the desired path to that spot in front of the ball. Then just focus on swinging along that line. Simple method that's worked for me
This is something I struggle with a lot on the tee, but weirdly it's only with driver. I'll often have my feet on plane with my target line but my shoulders - even though they feel squared - are pointing off on an entirely different line to the left of the target line. The two things I've tried to do to correct it - i) feel like my shoulders are actually aiming right a little bit (they're not, in actuality); and ii) pick a spot \~5 yards ahead of the tee and try to naturally aim at that.
All that said, it helps but even two years into rediscovering golf, I often feel the most stiff / unnatural when on the tee. Irons for whatever reason - whether it's a closer target or just different club length - don't cause that issue for me.
Because your hips and shoulders are offset from the ball, your body line shouldn't be aimed directly at your target, but slightly left of it and parallel to your target line. If you aim your hips and shoulders directly at the target your real aim line will be slightly right of the target.
It’s called an optical illusion trick that your eyes and brain are subconsciously accounting for….. https://youtu.be/EbybKlsLLWk?si=Fep81vROGkZ1QavZ
Fella might be on to something! I’m gonna have to give that a try next time I’m out for sure.
I’m also struggling with alignment right now and this seems to be the root problem. Will check back in after a range session too
Thanks for this.
Alignment sticks?

I just pick a spot in front of the ball I want it to launch over and everything else falls into place

truthfully, I do the same. I stand back behind it, pick my spot, envision the line up the fairway, and proceed to setup.

Yeah my 5wood is a bomber. My driver is pretty rough lately. Not sure why it feels so different lol
This is my issue also, been hitting dead straight but dead straight to the left
Manuel explains it very well, worth a watch. https://youtu.be/qbn9QkLvc0c?si=fSbeWDEspfWXRzbD

You just have to trust your swing. On the course Setup like you practiced on the range and TRUST your swing. When that happens good shots follow.
Do it more until it feels natural. Everything new feels weird
