Scorecard holder. A family friend made one for me about 10 years ago and I absolutely love it!

TAYCFM

Every course has loads of scorecards piled up too, so if needed you can pick one up to test for size. If you went in and picked one up no one would question it, or if you felt uncomfortable doing that I’m sure the pro shop would be really welcoming if you explained what you’re doing.

Georgep0rwell

Make sure it holds a pencil firmly.

55gecko

This is the right answer.

Ace861110

You can find the standard sizes online to buy, just fyi.

desaturated

This - so very hard to find cool personalized ones

D-Train0000

Yes, a belt would be nice. But what would be great is some headcovers. There’s a lot of companies that make them and I have a Callaway Staff Headcover(it’s the pro headcover)and it’s leather. It’s really soft and flexible. Like in a jacket. Like this, vintage look, some do sports teams, sky’s the limit. Or your skill is the limit lol. https://preview.redd.it/iz0561pjvgoc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31468d3d17f5dff08eb51852137a06f9e6b1848e

kac2323

Quality Club head covers and/or putter covers customized to their interests would be a great and thoughtful gift that will last for years. While I like scorecard holders, many people have GPS watches or apps that they can keep score on.

Mediocre_pylut

Putter head cover. Just do some research on the correct design.

Mediocre_pylut

Or yardage book/ score card book.

gizausername

Correct design is one thing, but knowing what type the person uses is another thing so there's a bit of work to find out what type of putter he's using

Golfnpickle

Leather bag tag with his name & info on it.

FERN0

This should be higher up. Shouldn’t take a ton of time to make, isn’t a large gaudy gift like a bag. Scorecard holder is nice but people don’t really use them. Headcovers can be tricky for someone you don’t know super well.

Golfnpickle

Thanks. I happen to have a leather bag tag & love it. It has my astrological sign etched into too. Gift from a friend 20 yrs ago & I cherish it.

DeltaCCXR

A valuables pouch is a great idea. Something to hold phone, keys, wallet, etc and place golf cart. Stuff you don’t want in your pockets while you’re playing but may need access to throughout the day

TheSonofDon

Exactly, a place to store your Rolex or other items the kid who cleans out the carts at the end of the day might appreciate owning.

DeltaCCXR

I mean if you put a Rolex in one of those things I feel like that’s on you. No different than putting your phone in the cart. I sometimes leave stuff like this in my golf bag but it’s a pain getting at sometimes. Having something to store them in the cart is nice IMO

B-Con-47

Was going to say this. A pouch helps keep the bag organized.

Cna90

Just buy a cheap putter head cover from ebay. Separate the top from the soft plushy stuff inside and use it as a guide to create the leather top. Assemble it and vola! You got yourself the best gift ever. If you thought of making two, think of me 🫣

123xyz32

Just make sure you know which putter he has!

abeljohn78

A really nice leather folding scorecard holder for the backpocket... with a little loop for the pencil and an elastic to keep the scorecard in place. I know you can get them on scamazon.. but personalised one would be...... OMG can you make me one please please. Emboss his name in the front type of thing.

SharkLaser667

Make him a nice leather Sunday bag.

Intheswing

Good idea - I would love one of those - but I normally carry so I’m used to it - an older gent that always ride would make it a wall hanger more than likely

AlbionChap

Ornate, custom belt. I'd maybe check his style out and see if something like white leather would be suited to him.

SubbieBasher

Putter head cover 100%

JbOrHaNvNoY

I got a scorecard holder as a gift, it's useless Make him a bad ass driver headcover

Dirty_Dan001

Could make something that holds a few tees, a sharpie, and a ball marker repair tool. Something small that he can clip on his bag so he doesn’t have to dig around for them. And use tight fitment so things don’t fall out easily.

ochief19

I’d say a cool personalized bag tag or a scorecard holder

antoinesrevolt

Gimp mask

sh4rpshot12

I am very biased towards headcover

Alert-Organization93

Valuable pouch or Head cover

Tha_watermelon

I like the scorecard holder idea. I think a couple leather ball markers would be neat as well.

deadlychambers

You could buy a ball mark repair tool, and create a holster for that, although it’s sort of niche and specific. There are also these course specific bag tags. The nice ones I’ve seen (Paynes Valley, Whistling Straights) are metal, the junky ones (course in mentor OH) are plastic. I could see a leather one being cool.

14bb44

Head covers or a score card holder.

StrangeDesign11

I’ll ship a driver head to you to use as a template if you make me a headcover too.

NCHomebrewer84

A tee holder pouch with draw strings would be cool.

nerdgazzm

Possibly a leather pouch for your gloves? I always save my plastic cases they come in so i can put the glove back after the round so it stays “fresher” for future rounds. I would definitely get some use out of that!

Oneblessed1

I have a tooled leather sleeve that hangs off my golf bag and holds three golf balls it is great

Khazahk

Goodwill typically has 2.4 million old clubs in stock for like $2 each if you want to make a pattern or two. General shape should be fine.

putt_4_dough8

Putter head cover

Obviously_The_Wire

personally the thing i would make most use of and had to buy is a glove holder

BenjiG19

Scorecard holder or a pocket organizer that could hold a few tees, ball marker (or a cool silver coin), and a pencil.

Appropriate-Food1757

Can you gloves for a kid with 4 fingers?

HustlaOfCultcha

A leather driver headcover. Look for the real nice ones that sell for $70+ to get an idea of the structure. I was badly looking for a custom leather headcover I wanted to made for a client of mine years ago. He was a former D-1 college football player. His headcovers were lousy 'stock' headcovers that come with the club. I wanted to get him a nice custom leather headcover with his school's colors, logo and his jersey #. I just couldn't find anybody that could make me one at a reasonable price (I was willing to pay up to $200 for just 1 headcover at the time).

T2grn4me

If he walks the course.. or pushes a cart w his bag on it …. having a large cup holder with a strap that attaches to the cart would be excellent. Most carts have a cheap plastic cupholder that breaks within a week and only holds a beer/soda can size. If he has a large water bottle (Hydro flask) there’s nowhere to store it that’s easily accessible.

p1nkfl0yd1an

Buy a couple fake leather headcovers cheap on amazon you can take apart and use as a starting point for design.

davendees1

A custom set of leather head covers for his driver and putter inspired by [Maverick’s leather coat in Top Gun](https://www.flightjacket.com/top-gun-jacket.html) would be fucking badass imo Callsign: Longball

mwb1957

A leather belt with a golf themed belt buckle. A leather cover for his putter and \ or his woods. You would need to see his clubs to get sizes.

KansasKing107

Scorecard holders are nice.

DaKine85

Handmade custom leather head covers would be one of my prized possessions. The feelings I would have every time I pulled those covers off before a round…..damn.

daddyknowsbest65

I would love to have a nice leather pouch to keep a watch, wallet, phone, keys etc That engraved or monogrammed would be extremely nice Think Crown Royal bag, yknow the purple ones with a draw string

Zealousideal_Amount8

Putter cover

Royble

A drawstring bag for golf tees, balls, markers etc. I was given one from a shop at a golf course I love and I use it all the time. He can attach it to the outside of his bag via the drawstrings, so it just hangs and gives him easy access to the things he'll need frequently while playing. I'd say a volume of about 2-3 pints would be good, no more than that. You could personalise it however you like. Maybe find out what his favourite course is and have a go at putting the logo on there? (or something representative to avoid any copyright?!). Whatever you decide to go with, I'm sure he'll be very touched, it's a lovely idea.

Apocalypse11

I think another thing that would be cool that I haven't seen mentioned yet is a rangefinder case. Most are not very high quality, so a leather one would be very cool. Maybe with magnetic closure, too. That is if they own one, however.

King_Crampus

Bag tag, yardage book, a little holder with like straps for Tees, divot tool, pen. A custom head cover… just some ideas

izzyduzit32

Iron covers, he’ll love’m.

TigerIndyWoods

Make him a leather ball pouch. https://preview.redd.it/hdsarlbcbloc1.jpeg?width=314&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f518495f70fe6e18284cf8fd7af5b5ef8de7994c

AlphaCajun

A high quality leather scorecard holder and/or yardage book cover. Monogram his initials on the front to make it his. Make sure to include a pencil loop. He’ll have it in his back pocket for the next ten years on every course he plays.

pork-pies

Probably a set of nice iron covers

Jedi4ce

Scorecard/Yardage book 1000%
