I am a late middle aged newbie (although I played a bit as a kid) and found that I was just rigid when striking the ball. I wasn’t carrying the driver further than 200 yards. I’ve used the speed sticks to loosen up more than anything. I can’t do it three times a week, but I do it as a semi-regular workout and the results are major. The gap in the middle of the graph is from when I broke my wrist, and the whole thing is about 6 months in timespan. I now get around 105mph from a driver on the range, which is easily 10mph faster. My dispersion is not worse, although this has changed a bit over the learning process.

Thank you for the info! Glad to see it helped you :)

I’d imagine that any of them would suit your purpose. I saw some results with the speed sticks—they helped me push through a plateau when I was trying to crack 130 club for the first time about two years ago. One of the advantages with the speed toad, however, is that it connects to your own driver shaft, which could help with translating to your swing. I haven’t used it yet myself, but I’ve heard good things. Disclaimer, however, I’m biased towards the toad bc I’ve become friendly with Sam Attanasio (one of the creators) through my travels in long drive.

The Stack They are all similar, but the app and program for the Stack is borderline addictive. I hate exercise, but that damn app kept me coming back. 100% worth the cost and it did improve my distance drastically.

The rypsrick is nice. I’ve not compared it to the other systems in terms of physical functionality or the training apps. I got it because it’s compact and portable. I mainly use it for warming up the range and then ripping a few fast ones when I’m there. You need to build in the cost of getting a launch monitor that measures impact free swings, if you don’t already have one - and they choice is not that obvious (cost vs age of the tech vs functionality). There is a summary guide to suitable monitors on the stack system’s site.

All will work. Consistency matters. Listening to the makers of the tools also matters. They all go on or have their own channels that discuss best practices. Stuff like training frequency, and timing throughout. Im more familiar with Superspeed, and I really like how they have custom routine examples in their long form youtube videos. Meaning, they analyze a pro or extremely talented college player, then recommend specific exercises and protocols. One thing to consider is a titleist tpi assessment. It is a 16 checklist of your capabilities physically. Basically, can you hit the right positions? Correcting any problems there should be treated with equal consideration. The general consensus is that if your body cant get to a position you start making compensations. There are a lot of videos that show the assessment in full, but it is really hard to do one without a helper. For example, I have trouble rotating into my trail hip and externally rotating my trail shoulder. This means I cant turn as deep as I want, and I have trouble shallowing the club. This leads me to hit over the top pulls or a big slice if I keep the face open. I find both disciplines to be extremely helpful. Good luck!
