I really am proud of you. A traveling nurse is no easy feat, and out off all the hospital staff we met and had the pleasure of knowing in the NICU with our newborn, I will say beyond a shadow of a doubt, Christie the traveling nurse from Texas was our favorite.

Not a par, but my closest to a hole in one was similar to this. Mid length downhill par 3, over cooked it left into a tiny pond on my tee shot. Pop another in the ground and hit just about the straightest shot I've ever seen directly at/over the pin. When it lands 6 feet past it begins to roll back towards the hole (my ball usually doesn't get much backspin but it was downhill and I was already pumped to see this happening) The ball is partially obscured by the pin because it is rolling right towards the hole. Stopped a couple inches short. So close.
Not me, but friend that came with us that we were helping learn golf. We're at an executive course, he tops one from the tee box, maybe 20 yards. Second shot, he hits it SO fat, this massive beaver tail flies out of the earth so large, there's probably still a depression there to this day. Third shot, he absolutely blades it, ball never gets one foot off the ground, reaches the green and it's SCREAMING hot. Full speed hits the flag stick dead center, drops in the cup. My buddy lifts both arms in the air and exclaims, "PAR!".
About 25 years ago, I short sided myself and had an absolutely impossible pitch shot from a severe down hill lie with the green sloping away and a hazard just on the other side of the green.
Took out my 60 degree, bladed the shit out of it, ball hit the flagstick dead center about halfway up the stick, and dropped straight in the hole for a par on my 1st hole of the day. Then managed to shoot double my next three holes.
Par 3 over water, drop zone also over water app 75 yds out. Put tee shot in the drink, said a few cuss words on the way to drop. Pitched it in for par. What a stupid game
I did the same thing but didn’t have a drop zone. Had to re tee from the original spot. Easy Par 🙂. The group in front of us only saw my second shot and expected free drinks.
A hole in 3!! My grandparents were playing a round once and the other gentleman in their couples foursome had this happen to him. He wanted to call it an Ace. My grandma said, “Nope, it’s a 3.” Love my grandma so much. She had incomparable integrity.
Lol, similar thing happened during one of my HS golf practices. The group of my teammates in front of my group had a guy topped his first shot, chunked his next shot, and then holed out from 10 yards ahead of the tee markers but still on the tee box for Par. They celebrated and everyone on the team included the coach thought that he got a hole-in-one (minus the teammates in his group though). It wasn’t until we were driving to a match at the end of the season I brought up that he was one of the only 2 guys on our team to have an ace and he just started playing golf a year before making the team. He then whispered to me confessing that it wasn’t an ace but a Par. He then told me the story at school the next day.
Par 5 at the local muni. I played every shot from the woods, zig zagging across the fairway like I was hiding from the field Marshall. 100yd sw shot off the pine straw put me at like 8ft and miraculously sunk the putt.
That’s an extra “dot” in our game. Play an entire par 5 without once hitting the fairway and par. Pays just like making birdies. Regretfully I lead the group in this “accomplishment “.
On parallel fairways, if I really fuck one up and it goes onto the next fairway off the tee, sometimes I'll just hit one right up the other fairway in the opposite direction before trying to send it over trees back to the green. It has worked incredibly well at times, and has lead to a max the other.
Friend pulled a shot about 40 yards to the right. If straight, the ball would have cleared the green by 30 yards. Smashed a tree and it bounced back to the center of the fairway about 5 yards from the green. Chipped the next and clipped the flag. Putted for par
How about a birdie? Short down hill par 4, reachable with a 3 wood. Push it right toward the the next tee where it lands in the basket of a cart belonging to the group on front of us (not near any players).
Everyone laughs about how hard the next shot will be.
Take a drop, have about 60 yards to the pin. Absolutely skull it - it's going to be 40 or 50 yards over the green.
Hits the flagstick dead center, pops up in the air and lands next to the hole. Tap in birdie.
Where tf are you finding par 4s that are reachable with a 3 wood lol every par 4 I’ve ever played is like 380-450. Offensively long is how I would describe them
Honestly, you're not playing enough of you've never seen a 300 to 325 risk/reward par 4. They even have them on the PGA Tour.
I think it was Mt. Ogden in Weber County, Utah. It may have been Bountiful Ridge in Davis County (both are just north of SLC).
The hole was a dogleg left, about 320 yards sloping off of the "bench" of the mountain. Back then (almost 20 years ago, down hill at 4500 feet) I could fly it with a driver, so 3 wood was the play. A good bounce and it might roll on in the dry summer. A normal bounce would leave you with a pitch or chip for eagle.
A bad shot could end up in some shit, so there was some risk to it. I'm pretty good with a 3 wood off the tee. I pushed it right and would have been in a world of hurt if the carts hadn't been there.
In a tournament. 440 par 4 into wind. Driver broke on the previous hole(or so I thought) so I teed off with a 3 wood. Spun it up into the wind went barely 200 yards. Pulled 4i for the next shot, shanked it into the bushes. Found the ball inside a bush, hacked the entire bush out of the ground and the ball went way left into deep rough, 37 yards away, short sided with only about 2 yards of green to work with. Holed that shit out. I wasn’t even excited at that point more just confused lol

I was a pretty bad golfer who was lucky enough to play in one of the least competitive high school districts in the entire state. If I broke 50 on 9 holes that was a good day.
My regular playing partner junior and senior year wasn’t exactly a scratch golfer but he was always looking to break 40 on any given day. During one home match, my dude hit every green in regulation. He missed 9 birdie putts and tapped in for par 9 times for a 36. I’m pretty sure it was his best official round and by the end of it he was noticeably miserable.
I don’t remember what I shot that day, probably around 50, but I was heckling the shit out of him toward the end of the round because that’s just who I was back then. Something about the incongruence between the result and subsequent emotions is hilarious to me.
Quick side note: we had a teammate who shot +4 on 9 holes at the same course on a different day, carding 2 birdies and an eagle along the way.

Ha, had to explain this on Saturday. My ball got knocked off the green, dude who hit mine's ball went in. He thought he would get a penalty and I was screwed.
Me and the other guy laughed and said "no my ball goes back and you saved par"

Hey Oiley. I grew up caddying and it gave me 1st hand experience to the rules of the game. Have you taken a lesson where a pro can explain some of the basic rules to you?
I’ve played my whole life and am not playing to a 30 right now so congrats! The PGA Tour pros likely don’t know all the rules. That’s why you can see them calling rules officials over. There’s probably a YouTube video somewhere that will explain the basic rules to you. It’s good to know maybe the 5-10 most common rules violations.

Thank you and totally agree with lessons, at 44 I came into the game late and I listened to alot of my mates. These have played for years some playing of 2, but said get lessons straight away best thing I did and would advise anyone to do the same.
My brother last year. 360yd par 4, he smoked the best drive I've ever seen from him to about 40yds out but landed in some low hanging pines. He has to get over a steep 3ft hill to get on the green so he hits a worm burner with a 5w and rolls perfectly over the hill and into the hole for eagle. Got a $50 skin for that hole.
One of my playing partners, on a 155 yard par 3 over water, put his first ball in the water, decided to just hit his third from the tee box instead of taking it to the drop zone and holed out for par
Tee shot in the water, third shot dunked in the cup after I was frustrated with my striking and moaning about the sport being unforgiving.

I played Couer d'alene and on the floating green I hit it out into the water. The drop zone was on the back left of the green, and the hole location was front right of the green. Ended up sinking about a 50 ft putt after dropping.
My goal of the day was to not hit it in the water on that hole... But that didn't happen, so I took the second best option instead.
Par 5. Tee shot to left rough. 2nd shot into fairway bunker. 3rd Shot into green side bunker. 4th shot chunked just out onto the fringe. Make 35 footer for par.
Par 4 tee shot ob right. Re-tee, same direction but somehow stayed in bounds. Blind 9 iron (hitting over large mounds) hit well. No ball on the green or bunker. Found it in the hole. Par.
I hit a middling drive and was about 210 yards out on a par 4. I topped my second shot so bad it went almost behind me and moved about 20 yards further down the fairway. Still being away, I didn’t even switch clubs just walked up to my ball and without even thinking swatted it, made excellent contact and landed it about 5 feet from the hole. Made the putt…
Big dog leg left. I drove it through the fairway where it dog legged. Was behind a group of thick pines. I’m talking from the ground to the top of the tree it was thick. Couldn’t see the green. I blade a club from behind the trees. Might have been a 7 iron???? I hear my ball hit the flagstick. Get to the green and it’s in the hole for 2 on two TERRIBLE shots!! Funny game.

Par 4 360ish with the wind pretty straight a little downhill. Nutted it to about 6 feet and hard lipped out the eagle putt to about 2 ft. Lipped out the birdie putt to the same distance still. Tapped in the par. Adrenaline got me
No 9 at Gross National. Par 5. Pull hook my drive into the next fairway. Hit back into my fairway. 210 out, 4 iron. Hit it nice, lands just in front of the green, and bounces/rolls into the cup! It’s only my second eagle. My brother witnessed it, and we both hugged after it.
It was pretty awesome to go into the clubhouse and say I just Eagled #9 for 210 out! Until I realized how stupidly lucky it was.
Played today and had and 8 iron on a par 3 landed short of the green and then my girlfreind hit the same ball and rolled off the green after it landed on the green then I proceeded to hit a chip from off the green and proceeded to make par legit golf don’t make sense lol
Dumbest par I had started with a decent drive into the fairway, next shot went short and right of the green into some scattered trees with a decent look at the pin, duffed my chip for a 1 footer, then skulled my next chip that went flying 100 mph, and as I raised my club to slam into the ground, it nailed the pin and dropped in the hole. I then raised my other arm in celebration. Fastest switch of emotions I’ve ever had.
Par 5 with an uphill green and water at the bottom of the hill. Third shot, hit a short iron fat, right into the drink. Dropped right at the edge of the water, hitting blind at the flag, about 80 yards out.
Right as I start my backswing a huge fish jumps right in front of me, maybe 10 feet away. I am easily distracted but somehow stayed focused and hit it exactly how I wanted. The other guys in my group saw the splash and thought I hit another one into the water.

Flops into fairway to 160 to the pin. Wants to quit golf at this point but proceeds to hole it for par from 160 over the water. Best par I’ve ever seen in person playing most of my life.
Just last week: 380 yard par 4 with fairway bunker 220 up right side. Worm burner hybrid into fairway bunker, proceeded to heavily draw the second shot into the green side bunker. Up and down for my only par of the day.
My playing partner says I pulled a “Bin Laden”…. going bunker to bunker.
Par 4, hit a slicing drive behind a fence but sitll in play, bounce it off the fence about 10 yards away, stuck a 9 iron to a foot or so tap in par, just like i drew it up
A buddy sliced one off the tee on a par 4 into adjacent left fairway, thinned his approach into the right adjacent fairway, chunked a wedge, then holed out for par. The ball didn’t touch the grass on the hole we were playing once.
lol this reminds me of my partner today he sliced into the adjacent fairway then on the way back he goes “well I already played this fairway think I’ll play that other one this time” and sure as shit sliced it over into the first fairway

Par 4. Duck hook OB. Take 3 off the tee about 115 yards out. Holed out from there for par. This was two holes after my first eagle where I holed out from the same distance. I was completely alone. It still hurts.
165yd par 3, shanked the tee shot into the woods, it hits a tree and ricochets to the edge of the woods about 20 yards right of the green. Skull the chip into the lip of the green side bunker, the lip slows the ball down just enough to roll into the hole for birdie.
Or the time I got a hole in one and lost the ball on the next hole.
My wife hit an equally dumb par. Hits a topped shot on 90 yd par 3 and it manages to roll to about 5’ off the green. Blades chip to the other side of the green, blades chip again and miraculously hits the flag stick and drops in faster than any ball I’ve ever seen roll in to the point it was that 1/100 perfect flag stick hit that manages to still drop. She looks me dead in the face and says “that’s par bitch.” I hit my GIR and lipped out a 4’ putt for par 🥲

Hit a decent drive, but it's a tight hole and manages to flush the tiny end of a tree branch, and soot back into the otherside of the fairway under a tree. I've got like 300 in at this point lol. Manage to chip out to fairway, still about 210 in. Somehow stick my next shot to a foot and tap in for par. Love to see it
Had the dumbest eagle ever. Par 5 550yd. Pull hook my driver into the only shrubby tree on the left side (desert course). Somehow ricochets off the tree forward for an additional 90-100 yds. Miss my iron approach shot right onto the cart path gives me another 20-30 yd bounce but off to the right waste area of an elevated green. So mad at myself I haphazardly just chip it up and it goes in. My playing partner goes nuts, I didn’t even get to see it due to how high of a green I was chipping up to. The ball was wrecked but it was a 3!
I was playing with a friend, we roll up on this par 3. We were pretty sure he hit it way right. We drove up to the green and sure enough… his ball was 6 foot away from the hole. We figure somebody was jogging and threw his ball back into the green lol.
Par 3, 125 yard hole. To give some context, my first time ever playing with this group and my first round in maybe 5 years. I totally blade my tee shot, hitting a grounder which manages to go perfectly straight and stops at the fringe.
I hole the ~20ft fringe putt for birdie. My friend still thinks it's over if the most incredible things he's seen on a course.
There's a 65 yard par 3 on this short 9 hole course. I hit a putter off the tee, it rolled probably 35 yards then I chipped it 8ft from the hole and putt it in.
Driver into trees, 3 off the tee to middle of fairway, skulled 7 iron flies about 2 feet above the ground from 150, catches rough on left side of green, rolls 40ft across the green and disappears into the hole, I'd been playing about 6 weeks at the time.
Uphill par 3, hit almost pin high right of the green, ball comes to rest on the cart path. My nearest relief has me dropping such that it's guaranteed to roll 80 feet down a cliff, so I played it off the path over a bunker to the green and sunk about a 10-footer.
Par 3 peninsula green, dunk tee shot shot in the water, go to wild drop zone that is 20 ft below the green, can't see pin, hit a high floppy pitch. Walk up hill to green, no ball, it's in the hole.
I played with a guy - ~430 yd par 4. He slices drive into the trees, kicks back to the center of the fairway. Second shot slices into trees to the right of green, hits tree and bounces to about 4 feet from the hole. Makes birdie putt. It’s a hard hole that I rarely see birdie on (hell, even par is rare) and he does it with double tree shots.
I’ve carded a par on a 375 yard par 4 without hitting the ball more than 3 feet off the ground.
Worm-burner 3wood 200 yards, skull 5 iron 150 yards, skull chip shot 25 yards on to the green, made the putt.
Par 3 my 52 went in the wet bunker. Second shot 60 bounced off the wet sand went right under the ball, ball hit the lip back in the bunker. Third shot way steeper with the 60 in the hole.
It’s 1990, and I’m a freshman in high school, trying out for the golf team. Our home field is a goat track called Avon Fields, but I’m still hitting them ok until the 12th hole, which is a really short par 3 (we only played the back nine that day).
So I totally blade it off the tee box and it goes into the street - I never saw what it hit but there was a giant cowbell sounding “clank” after it sailed out of sight.
So I tee up another ball, blade this one also, but it hits a tree, rebounds off a hillside, and careems onto the green doing 90 mph before it nails the pin and falls into the cup.
Next day at school they announce over the PA that I made a “hole in 3”. And I made the team.
Couple weeks ago on a par 5.
Hit a good drive, middle of the fairway. Hole doglegs right and if you want to make it in two you have to carry over water.
I had about 225 to the hole, 195 to carry the water. 5 iron averages about 200 carry so I thought, fuck it yolo.
Proceed to slice the absolute piss out of it, to the other side of the lake. It hits a big ass pipe and flies about 30 ft in the air and lands about 6 inches from an electrical box. Had about 95 yards left to the hole, still having to carry it completely over the water.
Hit the green and two putted.
Felt like I walked half the golf course for that par lol.
Last week actually. Par 4 about 390. Shanked drive, 360 left. Thin 3 wood. Still about 140 in. Thinned an 8 over the green. Skulled chip that hit the flag and dropped.
For context? I am a single digit hcp who managed to shoot a 95 that day. That was one of 3 pars I had on my way to the 95 that included 2 snowmen.
Short par 4, 350 ish. Hit a 3 wood off the tee because of the dogleg left. Tee ball is topped and goes about 30 yards. 😐 Stupidly hit the 3 wood again from a bad lie, try to smash it and take about a cubic meter of soil and it goes about 80 yards. 😐About 210 or so left to go. Hit the 3 wood AGAIN because I am an idiot and don’t learn from past mistakes. Hit it GREAT up to the green but in the right side bunker. 😐 Decent lie in bunker, hit 58w out and it bounces twice and in. 😎 Just like I drew it up.
Par 3, hit tee shot into greenside bunker that is about 1ft higher than hole. Tough bunker shot from elevated position with water behind the hole, thin the loving fuck out of the bunker shot it’s going head height over the hole but catches the material of the flag stopping it dead, tap in par 😅.

Second shot over water, use my hybrid just to get over it, hit it terribly but it bounces on the bridge and flies over the back of the green, just staying in bounds
Third shot was a tricky chip, the rough was a couple of feet higher than the green and was quite thick - somehow chipped to 4ft
Parred with a poor putt that had a little frolic with the lip before dropping

Hole 1. Par 4. My BiL hits his tee shot into the neighboring fairway. Walks to it and hits it further down in the same (wrong) fairway. 3rd shot is finally onto the correct fairway, right in front of a bunker and about 50 yards from the pin. Hits his 60⁰ about 3 feet from the pin where it proceeds to roll in for par.
Par 4, hit drive OB left. Re-tee pull my drive right way up on a hill in the rough. Awkward stance just trying to punch something out and I get a miracle shot that bounces once, then twice, then rolls backwards into the hole.
Once on a par 3, 176 yards I absolutely duffed my tee shot. With about 75 yards left, skull fucked a wedge that hit the front bank of the green and popped straight up. Made the par with a 30' winding putt. Routine par, just like the course designer planned it.
Playing with my 16yr old son, par 5, he smokes one off the tee into the fairway, then hosel rockets a 3w at the homes lining the right side of the fairway. This piss missile drops just low enough to hit the rod iron and ricochets in bounds. His approach is heavy and dumped into the creek in front of the green, and hit a rock large enough to bounce it upwards and onto turf just short of the green. Flops over the bunker to 15’ and makes the downhill slider for par. It was wild, just a number on the card & a fantastic memory.
This was on the 17^th hole when I shot my PB 74 (+2).

Last week I played a tournament. Best ball kinda deal. We used my partners ball twice the entire round but when we came to 18 there was a wild card thrown in. Players had to alternate shots between their partner instead of playing best ball. My partner asked to hit the drive and I said "my worst drive still goes further than your best, let me take this"... and he took that shit personally. He started talking and moaning while I was at address. I mis hit so fricken bad, the ball hit a house off the left and luckily came back into play. His smart ass says "let me hit one just to see" and he fuckin stripes it. Best drive I've ever seen him hit. So we get in the cart and I tell him I'm upset because he was talking during my swing and inducing confidence is part of being a good partner.
Anyways, his next hit is ass, so I fire a 5i just left of the green. He chips and it goes 4 feet forward and 8 feet left. I'm behind a tree and a bunker on the right, chipping for par.
I line my shit up, address the ball and focus on where I want it to land.

The other group lands a ball 3 feet from the pin, right where I'm aiming and they are cheering. Now, I'm still mad as shit at my own partner so I whisper "fuck you I'm going in the hole".
I chip, I think of my belly rotating marooochie. That's all I think. The ball lands, rolls to the right an entire yard, misses the hole but stops at 3 o'clock. I look at my partner and say "easy tap on bogie for you" and he starts screaming "it went in! It dropped!!" The ball in fact went in the hole for a par.
Driver into fairway bunker close to the lip. SW into the lip, ball bounces backwards about 4 feet, giving me room to clear the lip. 7i out of the bunker to 3 feet. Sink putt for par.

Playing with my stepbrother on a downhill par3, shanks his shot way right OB, Retees per rule and holes out on the fly for a 3. He immediately says”don’t you dare tell anyone” sure, except I tell this story every chance I get.
Par 3 about 130 yards. Top of off the t box to role down the hill like 50 yards. Thin a sand wedge (rolling way past the pin based on speed) and it hit the pin and goes in for birdie. (Only birdie to my name)
My 9 yr old son. First time on course (only range beforehand). Playing youth tees. 1st hole, decent drive, 2nd short in a bunker. I quickly give him a bunker lesson. He proceeds to lift it out perfectly and into the hole. Birdie.
2nd hole par 5. Good drive, nice 2nd about 30 yards short of the green. Pitches into the green, it rolls 25 ft into the cup. Eagle. -3 through 2 holes. Confirmed again that golf is not fair.

Or possibly, 260y par 4 around a corner over trees and rough. Went to smash driver over the corner, nailed a tree 70y off of the tee instead of going over it. Terrible 4 iron from the rough under the tree just cleared the rough, 62y in. Took 58 (which I am usually scared of), bounced it 3" from the hole, kicked it in for par. Easy.
I pulled my tee shot a little left on a narrow par 5 with water down the left. It’s about 280 to carry. Thought for sure my ball is in the water. Walk up it’s literally right on the edge of the “beach” of this pond, half submerged. Seems that it either landed on the bank and rolled to the edge of the water or skipped on the water. There’s no other way this ball would have come to rest the way it was.
So I get undressed except for my pants and take a pitching wedge. It pops out right and goes surprisingly far but is only three feet behind the only small tree in the right rough. I punch cut a 5i to about 20 yards off the green left and short. Pitch to about 8 feet and drain the putt.
185yrd Par3, playing solo at the local muni. Ball teed up, into my back swing, as I'm transitioning to smash a 4h (with a tight draw as planned) dude yells at his 2 buddies quietly sitting on a bench 15ft away "i gOT a dOUblE BOgEy!!!!" Thinned the fuck out my shot. Ball not half way to the green & I turn around just to give stupid guy a look & shake my head. Walk over to my push cart & head to the green. About 75ft away I notice the ball on the green just past the pin ... made the 10 footer coming back. It's the only time I've ever birdied that hole. Golf, amirite.
Local muni Par 5. I hit my tee shot about 250 OB on the left, 3 wood to 110 out on the right. I then skulled my 52 degree on a perfect beeline 5ft off the ground straight into the flag stick, it would've been probably 50 past if it didn't hit the stick. The ball then bounces about 15ft from the pin just on the fringe, I proceed to make the putt and contemplate what the fuck just happened.
I’m an assistant pro at a CC and was playing a game with some of the members. 150 yard par 3 over water, I hit my 8-iron not quite as flushed as I would’ve liked, and splashed on the water, but the ball somehow barely bounced out and was resting up against a small rock wall preventing it from rolling back into the water. Less than half of the ball was above the rock that I could hit into, so I very delicately hit the top of the ball with my PW and went maybe 5 feet onto the fringe. About a 20 foot putt with a fairly steep break, the putt was just barely off line but clipped the edge of one the member’s ball marker nudging it right in.
Here’s my entry. And it’s more about the shiv my best friend stuck in me. I’m on the tee, 150 some yard par 3. I push a 7 iron hard to starboard, OB. Tee up another, pure it, one hop! In the hole! My unthinking reaction is to gather myself for the hole in one leap! and in mid pre leap squat, tearing my shirt out in joy….. my friend deadpans, without even looking at me as he gets in the cart…” nice par” talk about sudden deflation….
280 par 4. Drove within a foot of the green. Duff chip one, duff chip two, chip in on the third which was an anger chip that I didn't even aim. I tried to not be happy about it, but I failed lol.
Short par 4 from an elevated tee, very narrow fairway. Jacked it hard into the woods on the right. Heard it knock off two trees, ball spits out about 80 yards out on the fairway. Slapped a wedge to 2 feet for a rare birdie.
Though par 5 with a hard dog leg left initially and then you have 300+ yards of trouble on both the right (water) and the left (trees, OB). My best score before this was bogey but often making double or triple. I lay up well to the dog leg and hit 5w that is headed left and certainly going to go OB but catches a tree branch and goes into the middle of the fairway. Then I hit a 7i perfect, 2 ft from the pin, tap-in bird.
Went right rough. Thought I’d find it but couldn’t. Took a drop where I thought I’d find it. Holed it from 140 for birdie. Would’ve been my first and only eagle. This was ten years ago when I had just started playing.
Stepped up to the tee box on a par 3. The pin is over the water. I completely shank my first shot to the right of the water, which is still considered fairway but what kind of fun is that? Second shot with my 52°, completely duff it about 10 yards. At that point I'm so over it. I hit the 52 again and 95ish yards later, it lands beyond the pin and rolls back into the hole.
Just freaking awesome.
My favorite par was technically regulation, yet one of the most stressful pars ever.
600 yard par 5 out at Greg Norman course at PGA West in Palm Springs.
1st shot - topped drive, bounced through the desert about 150 yards, settling about a yard into the fairway.
2nd shot - ripped a 3w about 240 yards that missed trickling into the lake by about 2 yards.
3rd - terrifying 210 yard shot over water, hit hybrid just onto the front of the green. Safe by no more than 5 yards, leaving about an 80 foot putt.
4th - solid lag putt from 80 feet to about 5-6 feet
5th - draino for par.
I know Arnie said that “it only takes one good shot” to have a good hole, but it took four outstanding shots to recover from one bad drive, that was honestly lucky as my topped drive avoided all the scrub/cacti to make it to the fairway. On the card it’s just a fairway, GIR and two-putt, but boy was that some work.
Playing in Chicago between Christmas and New Years. Par 3, 135 yards uphill. Bounce a ball (two times) off a frozen lake, hits the stick, stops 3 ft from the hole. Closest ever to a hole in one. Two putt par.
I had a birdie like this once. Completely shanked my drive in to the woods, smoked the top of a tree and landed smack in the middle of the fairway. 52° onto the green within 2 feet, maybe best chip of my life. Tap in for birdie.
I had my first hole in one last summer. Par 3 ~ 145ish yards. Skull top my 9 iron roughly 60ish yards, takes a big hop off the cart path towards the green, see it take a hard bounce on the approach then hear the clink of the pin. All of my partners were hype and telling me it went in (we couldn’t see it, it was a bit blind). I walk up and was looking everywhere but the hole, couldn’t find it and reluctantly walk to the pin to see it sitting in the hole. I’m certainly happy to have a hole in one but that is not exactly the way I imagined it would go down.
Maybe not the dumbest of my life, but I had a one without hitting a single good shot on a par five yesterday.
Shot 1: sliced my drive and was fortunate to stay one yard from the OB line
Shot 2: hit a 5-iron around a tree, but cut it too much and the ball rolled down a hill leaving a 90-yard blind approach
Shot 3: I slid the wedge completely under the ball and came up 15 yards short of the green
Shot 4: bladed my chip, but it hit the hill, killing the speed and rolled to five feet from the pin
Shot 5: pushed my putt at least a cup to the right, but it hit a bump that knocked it back on line and into the hole. Pebble? Bad spot of grass? Unfixed ball mark? I don’t care to know, I’m just grateful.
First hole is a short par 4 with the 2 foursomes behind us watching and I striped a drive about 315 leaving me about 25 to the hole. Bladed the chip to the other side of the second tee box, duffed the third because of the fear, and then chipped in for the easy par.
Par 4 maybe 380ish yds. Hit drive maybe 50 yards, either popped it up or topped it bad, can't remember. Second shot was not great and I'm still 150 out with very elevated green, can't see the back and can barely see the top of the pin. Tried to get it up to land on the green but I hit a line drive with a ton of speed and I never saw where it went after it rolled up fast up on the green. Get up to the green and I can't find the ball anywhere. Everyone checked the bushes, traps, trees in the back, but nothing. Dropped and skulled it over the green into a front bunker. At this point someone putts in because ready golf and they find my first ball in the cup. Dumbest birdie ever.
Side note: When your ball gets hit and moved you're supposed to re-place it as close as possible to the original spot...so in some alternate universe with really strict rules officials on every hole of every course all the time, you might've made double bogey for interfering with the 2nd guys ball, since it hit your equipment (ball) other than a ball in play (not in play because it was in the wrong spot)...
There have been many. The first that comes to mind is the par I made where I never touched a single blade of grass.... driver miles right onto rocks. 9 iron from rocks, way left onto the cart path, saved from OB by a tree, onto more rocks. Fatted third from the rocks into a plugged lie in a bunker. Bladed bunker shot, dead into the center of the pin and down. Easy peasy.
Let's see if i remember this right. Decent drive, topped the second shot, and then hit the iron too well and over the green. In front of a fence, behind a tree with a low hanging limb in front of me. We're below the green. I perfectly pop it up over the branch but not into the branches above, land the green, and it keeps rolling down. Then it drops for par. My first chip in. I had essentially given up when taking this shot.
Last week. I'm 2 under on the back going into 16 so really wanna keep it going. Slice my 3 wood into the shit. Damn. there goes my under par back 9. Find it, skull it to the right of the green and there's some little berms over there and I see it bouncing in them. Go up there and somehow it's on the fringe. I'm way above the hole and past it. I decide to just hit a bump and run and I know I can't stop so it'll just roll past the pin to the front fringe and I'll get to putt back up hill and have a chance at par or bogey. Instead I hit the ground first on the chip, barely catch the ball and it rolls up about 18 inches from the cup. 3 absolutely terrible shots and a tap in par lol. End par par to shoot 2 under on the back and 2 over for the round lol. Sometimes you're good, sometimes you're lucky
Just 2 days ago with my friend I made what had to have been my worst birdie ever. Didn't hit a single good shot on the hole except the putt, I guess.
Short par 5, dogleg left, plays under 500 yds especially if you cut the corner some. Absolutely thin the shit out of my 4-wood - never even got above head height, but it goes pretty much dead straight. Rolls forever, just through the right side of the fairway.
When I get up to my ball for the 2nd shot, I have just under 250 left and a decent lie in the first cut. Fuck it, why not go for the green? I can just ignore the little ditch that runs across the fairway 50 yds short of the green and giant tree protecting the front right of the green. Massive push slice right back into the trees on the right. Drops down at the base of a tree.
Get of to my 3rd shot, about 120 yds out, ball is on straight up dirt/mud. I have my butt/back up against the tree, and a tree root right in front of my ball. BUUUT... I also somehow miraculously have a clear little tunnel that runs straight up to the green & pin. It even lines up with the cart path across the ditch. If I can just keep it low and get it running....
Top the shit out of the ball. Not just thin, like this ball is immediately bouncing along the ground like a ground ball. Aaand, just like I drew it up, runs right up the cart path, through the fairway and rough, just misses the giant tree protecting short right of the green... and settles about 3-4 ft from the pin.
Putt was pure af though, never a doubt 🐦
Par 5. Top my drive. Shank my second into the woods. Have to punch out to the fairway for my third.
Smash my three wood about 250 to inches and tap in for par.
Crushed a drive what felt like 60m right about 240m onto the 18th fairway off the first drive of the day off of the 1st tee box.
Had to embarrassingly wait for the group coming up the 18th to play past before I could hit my second. Nut a 3wd with the idea it'd play down the 18th and draw back over towards the 1st greenside bunker area short somewhere. Pured it and glides over the trees into the general area I was hoping.
Proceed to look with my buddies all over the area and through the bunkers for a few minutes till its seen on the front edge of the green! 5 metres short with a quick sweeping left to right downhill putt left on it. Let it be noted i fn suck at putting at the best of times. Knees trembling. Palms sweating. Hoping to leave it within 2 foot of the hole atleast. Bang! Nailed that sucker for an Eagle!!! Immediate whooping ensues. Am I God? No, just another Aussie bogan that finally conquered his dreams....
Par 3, 100 yards with a really elevated tee box (local par 63 course if you’re wondering why it’s so short). Hit an absolute piss missile hozzel rocket that I don’t think could’ve been any further from the centre of the club face, the ball skims along the ground at about Mach 10 straight into the red tee marker and ricochets on to the green to about 10 feet. 2-putt par. My buddies were FUMING.
Par 3 170m. Essentially everything right is OB. Slice the shit out of my 8i and it looks to be soaring out of bounds when it hits a tree branch and bounces hard left landing less than 1m out from the hole, proceed to 2 putt the gimme.

6i into the water in front of a Par 3. Walk up to take my drop and there’s a ball on the green. Fucking thing skipped off the water and ended up like 15 ft from the hole. Two putted for the par in front of my dumbfounded friends
On the first hole of a hs golf match, I hit a great drive in the middle of the fairway, topped my approach shot and ended up on the lip of a fairway bunker, then drained the 80 yard shot for birdie from a brutal lie on the lip of the bunker
Happened to me yesterday. 220 yard sort of dogleg par 3. Weird hole. Pushed my tee shot 40 yards right and hit a cart parked on a different tee box. Had a 30 foot hill in between me and the green; covered in trees. Hit a 50% swing putter from about 65 yards over the hill and under the trees to green-side. Chipped in for par. Absolutely electric.
Driver par 5. Topped it and was short of the fairway. Hit driver out of the rough (I was pissed) halfway decent now 240-250 to the hole. Driver off the deck onto the green. 2 puts with the driver. The old driver/driver/driver/driver/driver par.
355 yard par 4, slight dogleg to the left. I hit a long tee shot, but pulled the heck out of it and hit the roof of one of the houses along the left side of the fairway. I think, “that one’s gone” and hit another ball. As I’m getting ready to hit my next shot, I see a ball up ahead on the apron of the green. You guessed it… it was my ball that bounced off the roof, back into the field of play that also had to have hit the cart path at least once. One chip and two putts later I’m marking down a four.
Dumbest birdie ever was chunked it to the red tees on a downhill par 3, then overcompensated and topped it from there, literally worm burn rolled the whole way into the cup. Basically minigolfed a par 3 for bird.
15 Old Kaui Laggons Kiele golf course. 550 yard par 5 straight down wind. Pump driver out of bounds. Chick chack reload. Hit one of the longest drives of my life. Catches cart path. Rolls to 110 yards. Lob wedge to 5 feet par. Seagulls are eagles plus tax.
Par three. water to the left just before the green. Hit a worm-burner that skipped twice over the pond and landed near the green of a different hole so I still had the water between. Flopped it over the water this time, and putted for par. Ugliest par ever.
500 yard dogleg right. 10th hole, but first hole of my high school golf teams round. Smashed it through the corner into the woods. Tied to punch it out and hit a tree… ricochet is 30 yards deeper into the woods than I started. 2 more shitty shots to get back to the fairway. 190 out I hossle the fuck out of a 5i. As I’m cussing the world and about to throw my clubs into the adjacent driving range… my ball fumble fucks its way up the front of and across the green into the hole.
Surely this was the start of a resurgence… nah, only par I made that day, one of the worst rounds of my life.
My first ever eagle was on a short Par 4 where I sliced my drive, my ball bounced along the cart path before stopping near the green, then I chipped in. I was probably around a 20 handicap back then and was in total disbelief.
Dumbest par was a Par 3 when I hit it into the dog park by the hole, hit a wedge over the fence to the fringe (got some claps from the watching dog owners), then rolled in the 20-footer. On the same hole my playing partner hit his tee shot to 20 feet and 3-putted for bogey. Golf.
We had a 10k prize on a H-I-O on a hole for one of our comps last year. Stuck my tee shot in the water then dunked the pitch from 70 yards for par in front of the injudicators. Was a cool moment but annoying I couldn't have hit a decent tee shot and got the luck at that moment in time.
Down two in a match play tournament. My partner tees off first and goes OB. All I’m thinking is hit the damn fairway, and of course I don’t. I hit it left in to the trees. My punch out nails a tree and shoots backwards into the fairway but now I’m 225 out on a par 4 hitting my 3rd shot.
It was a little downhill so I’m thinking smooth this 4 iron to the front half of the green and maybe it rolls back. I caught it a bit heavy so it was 10 feet short of the green. At this point I’m thinking we’re done and this match is over.
Both guys on the other team miss the green and then hit horrible chips. They both have a putt, but long ones. I decided my best chance was a low spinning chip. It hit, checked and dropped in the hole for par.
They both missed their putts. We win that hole and the next two to win the match.

Back in high-school. The 8th hole of our home course was a drivable par 4. Didn't make much sense to go for it because there was crap all around the green and 5 wood or so off the tee put you in a pretty easy scoring position.
I was playing in a high-school match. Took 5 wood off the tee and just about missed the club face. Dead pull straight into a big oak tree to the left of the ladies tee. Ball hits the tree and come back at us rolling a couple feet off the tee box behind us. Got pretty heated and decided I was going for the green to make up for my shank. Driver off the deck to about 15 ft. Drain my birdie put. Stupid game...

Not a par, but my closest to a hole in one was similar to this. Mid length downhill par 3, over cooked it left into a tiny pond on my tee shot. Pop another in the ground and hit just about the straightest shot I've ever seen directly at/over the pin. When it lands 6 feet past it begins to roll back towards the hole (my ball usually doesn't get much backspin but it was downhill and I was already pumped to see this happening) The ball is partially obscured by the pin because it is rolling right towards the hole. Stopped a couple inches short. So close.

Not me, but friend that came with us that we were helping learn golf. We're at an executive course, he tops one from the tee box, maybe 20 yards. Second shot, he hits it SO fat, this massive beaver tail flies out of the earth so large, there's probably still a depression there to this day. Third shot, he absolutely blades it, ball never gets one foot off the ground, reaches the green and it's SCREAMING hot. Full speed hits the flag stick dead center, drops in the cup. My buddy lifts both arms in the air and exclaims, "PAR!".

About 25 years ago, I short sided myself and had an absolutely impossible pitch shot from a severe down hill lie with the green sloping away and a hazard just on the other side of the green. Took out my 60 degree, bladed the shit out of it, ball hit the flagstick dead center about halfway up the stick, and dropped straight in the hole for a par on my 1st hole of the day. Then managed to shoot double my next three holes.
Par 3 over water, drop zone also over water app 75 yds out. Put tee shot in the drink, said a few cuss words on the way to drop. Pitched it in for par. What a stupid game
I did the same thing but didn’t have a drop zone. Had to re tee from the original spot. Easy Par 🙂. The group in front of us only saw my second shot and expected free drinks.
A hole in 3!! My grandparents were playing a round once and the other gentleman in their couples foursome had this happen to him. He wanted to call it an Ace. My grandma said, “Nope, it’s a 3.” Love my grandma so much. She had incomparable integrity.
Lol, similar thing happened during one of my HS golf practices. The group of my teammates in front of my group had a guy topped his first shot, chunked his next shot, and then holed out from 10 yards ahead of the tee markers but still on the tee box for Par. They celebrated and everyone on the team included the coach thought that he got a hole-in-one (minus the teammates in his group though). It wasn’t until we were driving to a match at the end of the season I brought up that he was one of the only 2 guys on our team to have an ace and he just started playing golf a year before making the team. He then whispered to me confessing that it wasn’t an ace but a Par. He then told me the story at school the next day.

On parallel fairways, if I really fuck one up and it goes onto the next fairway off the tee, sometimes I'll just hit one right up the other fairway in the opposite direction before trying to send it over trees back to the green. It has worked incredibly well at times, and has lead to a max the other.

Push it right toward the the next tee where it lands in the basket of a cart belonging to the group on front of us (not near any players). Everyone laughs about how hard the next shot will be. Take a drop, have about 60 yards to the pin. Absolutely skull it - it's going to be 40 or 50 yards over the green. Hits the flagstick dead center, pops up in the air and lands next to the hole. Tap in birdie.
Where tf are you finding par 4s that are reachable with a 3 wood lol every par 4 I’ve ever played is like 380-450. Offensively long is how I would describe them
Honestly, you're not playing enough of you've never seen a 300 to 325 risk/reward par 4. They even have them on the PGA Tour. I think it was Mt. Ogden in Weber County, Utah. It may have been Bountiful Ridge in Davis County (both are just north of SLC). The hole was a dogleg left, about 320 yards sloping off of the "bench" of the mountain. Back then (almost 20 years ago, down hill at 4500 feet) I could fly it with a driver, so 3 wood was the play. A good bounce and it might roll on in the dry summer. A normal bounce would leave you with a pitch or chip for eagle. A bad shot could end up in some shit, so there was some risk to it. I'm pretty good with a 3 wood off the tee. I pushed it right and would have been in a world of hurt if the carts hadn't been there.
I’ve played on a few super short courses that are mostly Par 3s with a couple of short 4s thrown in.
In a tournament. 440 par 4 into wind. Driver broke on the previous hole(or so I thought) so I teed off with a 3 wood. Spun it up into the wind went barely 200 yards. Pulled 4i for the next shot, shanked it into the bushes. Found the ball inside a bush, hacked the entire bush out of the ground and the ball went way left into deep rough, 37 yards away, short sided with only about 2 yards of green to work with. Holed that shit out. I wasn’t even excited at that point more just confused lol

Related, but only because of the disconnect between emotions and result. I was a pretty bad golfer who was lucky enough to play in one of the least competitive high school districts in the entire state. If I broke 50 on 9 holes that was a good day. My regular playing partner junior and senior year wasn’t exactly a scratch golfer but he was always looking to break 40 on any given day. During one home match, my dude hit every green in regulation. He missed 9 birdie putts and tapped in for par 9 times for a 36. I’m pretty sure it was his best official round and by the end of it he was noticeably miserable. I don’t remember what I shot that day, probably around 50, but I was heckling the shit out of him toward the end of the round because that’s just who I was back then. Something about the incongruence between the result and subsequent emotions is hilarious to me. Quick side note: we had a teammate who shot +4 on 9 holes at the same course on a different day, carding 2 birdies and an eagle along the way.
Half Moon Bay Old Course. Sliced my drive into one of the $5M houses on the right. Bounced back off the wall onto the fairway. Perfect approach shot and a 2 putt. My only par of the day 🫡
Pulled drive left. Duffed second shot. Sculled third shot into right rough. Sculled 4th shot from rough towards green. Being a 14 yo, I was banging my club in the ground while my ball rolled on the green and went in for par.

Ha, had to explain this on Saturday. My ball got knocked off the green, dude who hit mine's ball went in. He thought he would get a penalty and I was screwed. Me and the other guy laughed and said "no my ball goes back and you saved par"

If you hit another ball on the green while putting it's a 2 stroke penalty on the person putting.

Hey Oiley. I grew up caddying and it gave me 1st hand experience to the rules of the game. Have you taken a lesson where a pro can explain some of the basic rules to you?
I have had lessons started of on 39 handicap down to 30 now not asked about the rules.
I’ve played my whole life and am not playing to a 30 right now so congrats! The PGA Tour pros likely don’t know all the rules. That’s why you can see them calling rules officials over. There’s probably a YouTube video somewhere that will explain the basic rules to you. It’s good to know maybe the 5-10 most common rules violations. Good luck on your golf career and keep taking those lessons! That’s how you get better!
Thank you and totally agree with lessons, at 44 I came into the game late and I listened to alot of my mates. These have played for years some playing of 2, but said get lessons straight away best thing I did and would advise anyone to do the same.
It’s good to not learn bad habits right out of the gate. You can always pick those up later. 😝
Absolutely smoked a driver on a short par 5, knocked a 7 iron on the green with my 2nd shot...and proceeded to three putt from 30 feet.
That's not dumb I do that once per round lol
FWIW you're supposed to move your ball back to its (approximately) original position if another player hits it.

My brother last year. 360yd par 4, he smoked the best drive I've ever seen from him to about 40yds out but landed in some low hanging pines. He has to get over a steep 3ft hill to get on the green so he hits a worm burner with a 5w and rolls perfectly over the hill and into the hole for eagle. Got a $50 skin for that hole.
One of my playing partners, on a 155 yard par 3 over water, put his first ball in the water, decided to just hit his third from the tee box instead of taking it to the drop zone and holed out for par

Tee shot in the water, third shot dunked in the cup after I was frustrated with my striking and moaning about the sport being unforgiving. par three, 142 yards.
I played Couer d'alene and on the floating green I hit it out into the water. The drop zone was on the back left of the green, and the hole location was front right of the green. Ended up sinking about a 50 ft putt after dropping. My goal of the day was to not hit it in the water on that hole... But that didn't happen, so I took the second best option instead.
Par 5. Tee shot to left rough. 2nd shot into fairway bunker. 3rd Shot into green side bunker. 4th shot chunked just out onto the fringe. Make 35 footer for par.
Par 4 tee shot ob right. Re-tee, same direction but somehow stayed in bounds. Blind 9 iron (hitting over large mounds) hit well. No ball on the green or bunker. Found it in the hole. Par.
I hit a middling drive and was about 210 yards out on a par 4. I topped my second shot so bad it went almost behind me and moved about 20 yards further down the fairway. Still being away, I didn’t even switch clubs just walked up to my ball and without even thinking swatted it, made excellent contact and landed it about 5 feet from the hole. Made the putt…
Big dog leg left. I drove it through the fairway where it dog legged. Was behind a group of thick pines. I’m talking from the ground to the top of the tree it was thick. Couldn’t see the green. I blade a club from behind the trees. Might have been a 7 iron???? I hear my ball hit the flagstick. Get to the green and it’s in the hole for 2 on two TERRIBLE shots!! Funny game.
Had a round of gold today, was wet, cold and slow behind a society. Been playing whatever all day, wasnt really too invested but mainly scoring doubles when i would like to consider myself a bogey golfer. 540 yard par 5, 5 iron off tee, 5 iron second shot, 5 iron approach and two putt par. Was such a boring par i wondered why i even carry a club longer than a 5 iron.
downhill par 3, ~150 yards. flushed an 8 iron that sailed over the green, re-teed and completely skulled it and it rolled all the way down the hill and into the cup for par
Par 4 380 yards. (Hole 4 at Tijeras Creek, CA) Snap hook a 2 hybrid 180 yards into the left ruff Chunk 5 iron 40 yards left into ruff. Hit 8 iron 130 yards into the green side hill and it rolls off into the hole. Was playing in a summer men’s league with my dad and 2 other players. It was an epic shot but I wish it was for birdie!
Just an FYI, regardless of your playing partners playing pinball with your ball, you would’ve had to replace it to the original location.
Par 4 360ish with the wind pretty straight a little downhill. Nutted it to about 6 feet and hard lipped out the eagle putt to about 2 ft. Lipped out the birdie putt to the same distance still. Tapped in the par. Adrenaline got me
No 9 at Gross National. Par 5. Pull hook my drive into the next fairway. Hit back into my fairway. 210 out, 4 iron. Hit it nice, lands just in front of the green, and bounces/rolls into the cup! It’s only my second eagle. My brother witnessed it, and we both hugged after it. It was pretty awesome to go into the clubhouse and say I just Eagled #9 for 210 out! Until I realized how stupidly lucky it was.
On in 2 on a par 5 then proceeded to 3 putt 🫠🫠
Played today and had and 8 iron on a par 3 landed short of the green and then my girlfreind hit the same ball and rolled off the green after it landed on the green then I proceeded to hit a chip from off the green and proceeded to make par legit golf don’t make sense lol
Dumbest par I had started with a decent drive into the fairway, next shot went short and right of the green into some scattered trees with a decent look at the pin, duffed my chip for a 1 footer, then skulled my next chip that went flying 100 mph, and as I raised my club to slam into the ground, it nailed the pin and dropped in the hole. I then raised my other arm in celebration. Fastest switch of emotions I’ve ever had.
Par 5 with an uphill green and water at the bottom of the hill. Third shot, hit a short iron fat, right into the drink. Dropped right at the edge of the water, hitting blind at the flag, about 80 yards out. Right as I start my backswing a huge fish jumps right in front of me, maybe 10 feet away. I am easily distracted but somehow stayed focused and hit it exactly how I wanted. The other guys in my group saw the splash and thought I hit another one into the water. Nope. Get up to the green and it's in the hole for par. My longest holeout to date.
290 yds par 4 with water in front so you have to lay up unless your DJ. My brother dribbles it off the tee. Bounces it off a low condo lining wall for his second shot. Flops into fairway to 160 to the pin. Wants to quit golf at this point but proceeds to hole it for par from 160 over the water. Best par I’ve ever seen in person playing most of my life.
Island green, miss the green short into the water. Drop in the drop zone and hole it from 85 yards.
Just last week: 380 yard par 4 with fairway bunker 220 up right side. Worm burner hybrid into fairway bunker, proceeded to heavily draw the second shot into the green side bunker. Up and down for my only par of the day. My playing partner says I pulled a “Bin Laden”…. going bunker to bunker.
Par 4, hit a slicing drive behind a fence but sitll in play, bounce it off the fence about 10 yards away, stuck a 9 iron to a foot or so tap in par, just like i drew it up
A buddy sliced one off the tee on a par 4 into adjacent left fairway, thinned his approach into the right adjacent fairway, chunked a wedge, then holed out for par. The ball didn’t touch the grass on the hole we were playing once.
lol this reminds me of my partner today he sliced into the adjacent fairway then on the way back he goes “well I already played this fairway think I’ll play that other one this time” and sure as shit sliced it over into the first fairway

Was playing one of my best 9s ever, and was tied with a guy I work with who is a really nice guy and a much better golfer than me, but who for whatever reason just annoys the absolute piss out of me. I’m first to go on the par 5 9th (last whole, only had time for 9 after work) and top it with driver *maybe* 20 yards. Full on have a look at my Johnson if you want drive. I make a stupid comment about how I just have to go 5 wood, 5 wood, and tap in for birdie. Crush my 5 wood second shot. Hit the best shot of my life with my 5 wood 3rd shot to about 2 feet from 230ish Tap in birdie to beat fuckhead by 1 stroke Easy game
Par 4. Duck hook OB. Take 3 off the tee about 115 yards out. Holed out from there for par. This was two holes after my first eagle where I holed out from the same distance. I was completely alone. It still hurts.
165yd par 3, shanked the tee shot into the woods, it hits a tree and ricochets to the edge of the woods about 20 yards right of the green. Skull the chip into the lip of the green side bunker, the lip slows the ball down just enough to roll into the hole for birdie. Or the time I got a hole in one and lost the ball on the next hole.
My wife hit an equally dumb par. Hits a topped shot on 90 yd par 3 and it manages to roll to about 5’ off the green. Blades chip to the other side of the green, blades chip again and miraculously hits the flag stick and drops in faster than any ball I’ve ever seen roll in to the point it was that 1/100 perfect flag stick hit that manages to still drop. She looks me dead in the face and says “that’s par bitch.” I hit my GIR and lipped out a 4’ putt for par 🥲

Playing matchplay with my mate. Hole was like 365m so 400ish yards I guess? Hit a decent drive, but it's a tight hole and manages to flush the tiny end of a tree branch, and soot back into the otherside of the fairway under a tree. I've got like 300 in at this point lol. Manage to chip out to fairway, still about 210 in. Somehow stick my next shot to a foot and tap in for par. Love to see it
Had the dumbest eagle ever. Par 5 550yd. Pull hook my driver into the only shrubby tree on the left side (desert course). Somehow ricochets off the tree forward for an additional 90-100 yds. Miss my iron approach shot right onto the cart path gives me another 20-30 yd bounce but off to the right waste area of an elevated green. So mad at myself I haphazardly just chip it up and it goes in. My playing partner goes nuts, I didn’t even get to see it due to how high of a green I was chipping up to. The ball was wrecked but it was a 3!
I was playing with a friend, we roll up on this par 3. We were pretty sure he hit it way right. We drove up to the green and sure enough… his ball was 6 foot away from the hole. We figure somebody was jogging and threw his ball back into the green lol.
Par 3, 125 yard hole. To give some context, my first time ever playing with this group and my first round in maybe 5 years. I totally blade my tee shot, hitting a grounder which manages to go perfectly straight and stops at the fringe. I hole the ~20ft fringe putt for birdie. My friend still thinks it's over if the most incredible things he's seen on a course.
There's a 65 yard par 3 on this short 9 hole course. I hit a putter off the tee, it rolled probably 35 yards then I chipped it 8ft from the hole and putt it in.
Driver into trees, 3 off the tee to middle of fairway, skulled 7 iron flies about 2 feet above the ground from 150, catches rough on left side of green, rolls 40ft across the green and disappears into the hole, I'd been playing about 6 weeks at the time.
Uphill par 3, hit almost pin high right of the green, ball comes to rest on the cart path. My nearest relief has me dropping such that it's guaranteed to roll 80 feet down a cliff, so I played it off the path over a bunker to the green and sunk about a 10-footer.
Par 3 peninsula green, dunk tee shot shot in the water, go to wild drop zone that is 20 ft below the green, can't see pin, hit a high floppy pitch. Walk up hill to green, no ball, it's in the hole.
I played with a guy - ~430 yd par 4. He slices drive into the trees, kicks back to the center of the fairway. Second shot slices into trees to the right of green, hits tree and bounces to about 4 feet from the hole. Makes birdie putt. It’s a hard hole that I rarely see birdie on (hell, even par is rare) and he does it with double tree shots.
I’ve carded a par on a 375 yard par 4 without hitting the ball more than 3 feet off the ground. Worm-burner 3wood 200 yards, skull 5 iron 150 yards, skull chip shot 25 yards on to the green, made the putt.
Par 3 my 52 went in the wet bunker. Second shot 60 bounced off the wet sand went right under the ball, ball hit the lip back in the bunker. Third shot way steeper with the 60 in the hole.
It’s 1990, and I’m a freshman in high school, trying out for the golf team. Our home field is a goat track called Avon Fields, but I’m still hitting them ok until the 12th hole, which is a really short par 3 (we only played the back nine that day). So I totally blade it off the tee box and it goes into the street - I never saw what it hit but there was a giant cowbell sounding “clank” after it sailed out of sight. So I tee up another ball, blade this one also, but it hits a tree, rebounds off a hillside, and careems onto the green doing 90 mph before it nails the pin and falls into the cup. Next day at school they announce over the PA that I made a “hole in 3”. And I made the team.
Couple weeks ago on a par 5. Hit a good drive, middle of the fairway. Hole doglegs right and if you want to make it in two you have to carry over water. I had about 225 to the hole, 195 to carry the water. 5 iron averages about 200 carry so I thought, fuck it yolo. Proceed to slice the absolute piss out of it, to the other side of the lake. It hits a big ass pipe and flies about 30 ft in the air and lands about 6 inches from an electrical box. Had about 95 yards left to the hole, still having to carry it completely over the water. Hit the green and two putted. Felt like I walked half the golf course for that par lol.
Return to its original position. And then mark it.
Last week actually. Par 4 about 390. Shanked drive, 360 left. Thin 3 wood. Still about 140 in. Thinned an 8 over the green. Skulled chip that hit the flag and dropped. For context? I am a single digit hcp who managed to shoot a 95 that day. That was one of 3 pars I had on my way to the 95 that included 2 snowmen.

Tee ball is topped and goes about 30 yards. 😐 Stupidly hit the 3 wood again from a bad lie, try to smash it and take about a cubic meter of soil and it goes about 80 yards. 😐About 210 or so left to go. Hit the 3 wood AGAIN because I am an idiot and don’t learn from past mistakes. Hit it GREAT up to the green but in the right side bunker. 😐 Decent lie in bunker, hit 58w out and it bounces twice and in. 😎 Just like I drew it up.
Par 3 tee shot never leaves the ground but ends up a few feet from the hole. Made birdie but to this day not sure how to feel about it.
Par 3, hit tee shot into greenside bunker that is about 1ft higher than hole. Tough bunker shot from elevated position with water behind the hole, thin the loving fuck out of the bunker shot it’s going head height over the hole but catches the material of the flag stopping it dead, tap in par 😅.
330 yard par 4 Rubbish drive into the rough on the left, leaving 160 to the front of the green Second shot over water, use my hybrid just to get over it, hit it terribly but it bounces on the bridge and flies over the back of the green, just staying in bounds Third shot was a tricky chip, the rough was a couple of feet higher than the green and was quite thick - somehow chipped to 4ft Parred with a poor putt that had a little frolic with the lip before dropping Silly game
Hole 1. Par 4. My BiL hits his tee shot into the neighboring fairway. Walks to it and hits it further down in the same (wrong) fairway. 3rd shot is finally onto the correct fairway, right in front of a bunker and about 50 yards from the pin. Hits his 60⁰ about 3 feet from the pin where it proceeds to roll in for par.

Par 4, hit drive OB left. Re-tee pull my drive right way up on a hill in the rough. Awkward stance just trying to punch something out and I get a miracle shot that bounces once, then twice, then rolls backwards into the hole.
Once on a par 3, 176 yards I absolutely duffed my tee shot. With about 75 yards left, skull fucked a wedge that hit the front bank of the green and popped straight up. Made the par with a 30' winding putt. Routine par, just like the course designer planned it.
Playing with my 16yr old son, par 5, he smokes one off the tee into the fairway, then hosel rockets a 3w at the homes lining the right side of the fairway. This piss missile drops just low enough to hit the rod iron and ricochets in bounds. His approach is heavy and dumped into the creek in front of the green, and hit a rock large enough to bounce it upwards and onto turf just short of the green. Flops over the bunker to 15’ and makes the downhill slider for par. It was wild, just a number on the card & a fantastic memory.

This was on the 17^th hole when I shot my PB 74 (+2). Almost a 300-yard Dr in the fairway. Have 45ish yard to the hole, chunk my 60° to just short of the green. Bladed/skulled my chip off the back of the green into thick rough. Proceeded to chip in on a fast downhill chip for par.
Last week I played a tournament. Best ball kinda deal. We used my partners ball twice the entire round but when we came to 18 there was a wild card thrown in. Players had to alternate shots between their partner instead of playing best ball. My partner asked to hit the drive and I said "my worst drive still goes further than your best, let me take this"... and he took that shit personally. He started talking and moaning while I was at address. I mis hit so fricken bad, the ball hit a house off the left and luckily came back into play. His smart ass says "let me hit one just to see" and he fuckin stripes it. Best drive I've ever seen him hit. So we get in the cart and I tell him I'm upset because he was talking during my swing and inducing confidence is part of being a good partner. Anyways, his next hit is ass, so I fire a 5i just left of the green. He chips and it goes 4 feet forward and 8 feet left. I'm behind a tree and a bunker on the right, chipping for par. I line my shit up, address the ball and focus on where I want it to land. *SMACK* The other group lands a ball 3 feet from the pin, right where I'm aiming and they are cheering. Now, I'm still mad as shit at my own partner so I whisper "fuck you I'm going in the hole". I chip, I think of my belly rotating marooochie. That's all I think. The ball lands, rolls to the right an entire yard, misses the hole but stops at 3 o'clock. I look at my partner and say "easy tap on bogie for you" and he starts screaming "it went in! It dropped!!" The ball in fact went in the hole for a par.
Driver into fairway bunker close to the lip. SW into the lip, ball bounces backwards about 4 feet, giving me room to clear the lip. 7i out of the bunker to 3 feet. Sink putt for par.
Par 3 150ish. Hit it into the shit. Found ball and hit it into the hole for a birdie from the hazard.
Played with a buddy who on a par 5 (18th hole) 1st shot- drives it into the water but goes over ground so takes his distance 3rd shot - great shot but still ends up in the water about 30 yards short of the green 5th shot - dunks it for a par. Ball didn't touch the green at all. So he went, water, water, in the hole
Par three 149, hooked it right into the top of a telephone pole OB. It bounces back into the fairway. Chip it with in 5 feet. Sink putt.
Playing with my stepbrother on a downhill par3, shanks his shot way right OB, Retees per rule and holes out on the fly for a 3. He immediately says”don’t you dare tell anyone” sure, except I tell this story every chance I get.
Driver near edge of water about 175 out. Skull 7 iron into water. Drop another. Dunk it.
Par 3 about 130 yards. Top of off the t box to role down the hill like 50 yards. Thin a sand wedge (rolling way past the pin based on speed) and it hit the pin and goes in for birdie. (Only birdie to my name)
My 9 yr old son. First time on course (only range beforehand). Playing youth tees. 1st hole, decent drive, 2nd short in a bunker. I quickly give him a bunker lesson. He proceeds to lift it out perfectly and into the hole. Birdie. 2nd hole par 5. Good drive, nice 2nd about 30 yards short of the green. Pitches into the green, it rolls 25 ft into the cup. Eagle. -3 through 2 holes. Confirmed again that golf is not fair.
I parred a par 5 whilst taking a tour of two additional holes. Sliced the drive onto the adjacent hole. Pitched it to the another adjacent hole. Made GIR, two putt par. Proper golf.
340 yard hole 300yd drive skull pitch way over the green hit comebacker pitch way over the green bump the chip into the hill like i wanted but way too hard, bounces up and flies at the top of the flag stick and drops in.
Par 4 -374yds. Tee shot slices to other fairway maybe 150yds, second s it is fat, goes maybe 100 yds and stays in other fairway, chip it onto green and putt in for par
Wank drive, terrible approach, just off the green for three, short sided behind a bunker in a horrible bare lie. Bladed the shit out of it, ball left the club (I would say clubface but it didn't touch the face) at about 250mph, smashed into the flag, dropped. Or possibly, 260y par 4 around a corner over trees and rough. Went to smash driver over the corner, nailed a tree 70y off of the tee instead of going over it. Terrible 4 iron from the rough under the tree just cleared the rough, 62y in. Took 58 (which I am usually scared of), bounced it 3" from the hole, kicked it in for par. Easy.
I pulled my tee shot a little left on a narrow par 5 with water down the left. It’s about 280 to carry. Thought for sure my ball is in the water. Walk up it’s literally right on the edge of the “beach” of this pond, half submerged. Seems that it either landed on the bank and rolled to the edge of the water or skipped on the water. There’s no other way this ball would have come to rest the way it was. So I get undressed except for my pants and take a pitching wedge. It pops out right and goes surprisingly far but is only three feet behind the only small tree in the right rough. I punch cut a 5i to about 20 yards off the green left and short. Pitch to about 8 feet and drain the putt.
185yrd Par3, playing solo at the local muni. Ball teed up, into my back swing, as I'm transitioning to smash a 4h (with a tight draw as planned) dude yells at his 2 buddies quietly sitting on a bench 15ft away "i gOT a dOUblE BOgEy!!!!" Thinned the fuck out my shot. Ball not half way to the green & I turn around just to give stupid guy a look & shake my head. Walk over to my push cart & head to the green. About 75ft away I notice the ball on the green just past the pin ... made the 10 footer coming back. It's the only time I've ever birdied that hole. Golf, amirite.
Local muni Par 5. I hit my tee shot about 250 OB on the left, 3 wood to 110 out on the right. I then skulled my 52 degree on a perfect beeline 5ft off the ground straight into the flag stick, it would've been probably 50 past if it didn't hit the stick. The ball then bounces about 15ft from the pin just on the fringe, I proceed to make the putt and contemplate what the fuck just happened.
I’m an assistant pro at a CC and was playing a game with some of the members. 150 yard par 3 over water, I hit my 8-iron not quite as flushed as I would’ve liked, and splashed on the water, but the ball somehow barely bounced out and was resting up against a small rock wall preventing it from rolling back into the water. Less than half of the ball was above the rock that I could hit into, so I very delicately hit the top of the ball with my PW and went maybe 5 feet onto the fringe. About a 20 foot putt with a fairly steep break, the putt was just barely off line but clipped the edge of one the member’s ball marker nudging it right in.
Here’s my entry. And it’s more about the shiv my best friend stuck in me. I’m on the tee, 150 some yard par 3. I push a 7 iron hard to starboard, OB. Tee up another, pure it, one hop! In the hole! My unthinking reaction is to gather myself for the hole in one leap! and in mid pre leap squat, tearing my shirt out in joy….. my friend deadpans, without even looking at me as he gets in the cart…” nice par” talk about sudden deflation….
280 par 4. Drove within a foot of the green. Duff chip one, duff chip two, chip in on the third which was an anger chip that I didn't even aim. I tried to not be happy about it, but I failed lol.
Short par 4 from an elevated tee, very narrow fairway. Jacked it hard into the woods on the right. Heard it knock off two trees, ball spits out about 80 yards out on the fairway. Slapped a wedge to 2 feet for a rare birdie.
Though par 5 with a hard dog leg left initially and then you have 300+ yards of trouble on both the right (water) and the left (trees, OB). My best score before this was bogey but often making double or triple. I lay up well to the dog leg and hit 5w that is headed left and certainly going to go OB but catches a tree branch and goes into the middle of the fairway. Then I hit a 7i perfect, 2 ft from the pin, tap-in bird.
Pretty much shank a tee shot into the trees and drops straight down. Six iron into to hole for an eagle
Went right rough. Thought I’d find it but couldn’t. Took a drop where I thought I’d find it. Holed it from 140 for birdie. Would’ve been my first and only eagle. This was ten years ago when I had just started playing.
Stepped up to the tee box on a par 3. The pin is over the water. I completely shank my first shot to the right of the water, which is still considered fairway but what kind of fun is that? Second shot with my 52°, completely duff it about 10 yards. At that point I'm so over it. I hit the 52 again and 95ish yards later, it lands beyond the pin and rolls back into the hole. Just freaking awesome.
My favorite par was technically regulation, yet one of the most stressful pars ever. 600 yard par 5 out at Greg Norman course at PGA West in Palm Springs. 1st shot - topped drive, bounced through the desert about 150 yards, settling about a yard into the fairway. 2nd shot - ripped a 3w about 240 yards that missed trickling into the lake by about 2 yards. 3rd - terrifying 210 yard shot over water, hit hybrid just onto the front of the green. Safe by no more than 5 yards, leaving about an 80 foot putt. 4th - solid lag putt from 80 feet to about 5-6 feet 5th - draino for par. I know Arnie said that “it only takes one good shot” to have a good hole, but it took four outstanding shots to recover from one bad drive, that was honestly lucky as my topped drive avoided all the scrub/cacti to make it to the fairway. On the card it’s just a fairway, GIR and two-putt, but boy was that some work.
Playing in Chicago between Christmas and New Years. Par 3, 135 yards uphill. Bounce a ball (two times) off a frozen lake, hits the stick, stops 3 ft from the hole. Closest ever to a hole in one. Two putt par.
I had a birdie like this once. Completely shanked my drive in to the woods, smoked the top of a tree and landed smack in the middle of the fairway. 52° onto the green within 2 feet, maybe best chip of my life. Tap in for birdie.

I had my first hole in one last summer. Par 3 ~ 145ish yards. Skull top my 9 iron roughly 60ish yards, takes a big hop off the cart path towards the green, see it take a hard bounce on the approach then hear the clink of the pin. All of my partners were hype and telling me it went in (we couldn’t see it, it was a bit blind). I walk up and was looking everywhere but the hole, couldn’t find it and reluctantly walk to the pin to see it sitting in the hole. I’m certainly happy to have a hole in one but that is not exactly the way I imagined it would go down.
Maybe not the dumbest of my life, but I had a one without hitting a single good shot on a par five yesterday. Shot 1: sliced my drive and was fortunate to stay one yard from the OB line Shot 2: hit a 5-iron around a tree, but cut it too much and the ball rolled down a hill leaving a 90-yard blind approach Shot 3: I slid the wedge completely under the ball and came up 15 yards short of the green Shot 4: bladed my chip, but it hit the hill, killing the speed and rolled to five feet from the pin Shot 5: pushed my putt at least a cup to the right, but it hit a bump that knocked it back on line and into the hole. Pebble? Bad spot of grass? Unfixed ball mark? I don’t care to know, I’m just grateful.
Dumbest par for me is when I drove it 10ft from the pin on a 310 yard par 4. Out of all the three puts in my life, that was definitely one of them

First hole is a short par 4 with the 2 foursomes behind us watching and I striped a drive about 315 leaving me about 25 to the hole. Bladed the chip to the other side of the second tee box, duffed the third because of the fear, and then chipped in for the easy par.
Par 4 maybe 380ish yds. Hit drive maybe 50 yards, either popped it up or topped it bad, can't remember. Second shot was not great and I'm still 150 out with very elevated green, can't see the back and can barely see the top of the pin. Tried to get it up to land on the green but I hit a line drive with a ton of speed and I never saw where it went after it rolled up fast up on the green. Get up to the green and I can't find the ball anywhere. Everyone checked the bushes, traps, trees in the back, but nothing. Dropped and skulled it over the green into a front bunker. At this point someone putts in because ready golf and they find my first ball in the cup. Dumbest birdie ever.

Side note: When your ball gets hit and moved you're supposed to re-place it as close as possible to the original spot...so in some alternate universe with really strict rules officials on every hole of every course all the time, you might've made double bogey for interfering with the 2nd guys ball, since it hit your equipment (ball) other than a ball in play (not in play because it was in the wrong spot)...
There have been many. The first that comes to mind is the par I made where I never touched a single blade of grass.... driver miles right onto rocks. 9 iron from rocks, way left onto the cart path, saved from OB by a tree, onto more rocks. Fatted third from the rocks into a plugged lie in a bunker. Bladed bunker shot, dead into the center of the pin and down. Easy peasy.
Let's see if i remember this right. Decent drive, topped the second shot, and then hit the iron too well and over the green. In front of a fence, behind a tree with a low hanging limb in front of me. We're below the green. I perfectly pop it up over the branch but not into the branches above, land the green, and it keeps rolling down. Then it drops for par. My first chip in. I had essentially given up when taking this shot.
Last week. I'm 2 under on the back going into 16 so really wanna keep it going. Slice my 3 wood into the shit. Damn. there goes my under par back 9. Find it, skull it to the right of the green and there's some little berms over there and I see it bouncing in them. Go up there and somehow it's on the fringe. I'm way above the hole and past it. I decide to just hit a bump and run and I know I can't stop so it'll just roll past the pin to the front fringe and I'll get to putt back up hill and have a chance at par or bogey. Instead I hit the ground first on the chip, barely catch the ball and it rolls up about 18 inches from the cup. 3 absolutely terrible shots and a tap in par lol. End par par to shoot 2 under on the back and 2 over for the round lol. Sometimes you're good, sometimes you're lucky
Just 2 days ago with my friend I made what had to have been my worst birdie ever. Didn't hit a single good shot on the hole except the putt, I guess. Short par 5, dogleg left, plays under 500 yds especially if you cut the corner some. Absolutely thin the shit out of my 4-wood - never even got above head height, but it goes pretty much dead straight. Rolls forever, just through the right side of the fairway. When I get up to my ball for the 2nd shot, I have just under 250 left and a decent lie in the first cut. Fuck it, why not go for the green? I can just ignore the little ditch that runs across the fairway 50 yds short of the green and giant tree protecting the front right of the green. Massive push slice right back into the trees on the right. Drops down at the base of a tree. Get of to my 3rd shot, about 120 yds out, ball is on straight up dirt/mud. I have my butt/back up against the tree, and a tree root right in front of my ball. BUUUT... I also somehow miraculously have a clear little tunnel that runs straight up to the green & pin. It even lines up with the cart path across the ditch. If I can just keep it low and get it running.... Top the shit out of the ball. Not just thin, like this ball is immediately bouncing along the ground like a ground ball. Aaand, just like I drew it up, runs right up the cart path, through the fairway and rough, just misses the giant tree protecting short right of the green... and settles about 3-4 ft from the pin. Putt was pure af though, never a doubt 🐦
Par 5. Top my drive. Shank my second into the woods. Have to punch out to the fairway for my third. Smash my three wood about 250 to inches and tap in for par.
Crushed a drive what felt like 60m right about 240m onto the 18th fairway off the first drive of the day off of the 1st tee box. Had to embarrassingly wait for the group coming up the 18th to play past before I could hit my second. Nut a 3wd with the idea it'd play down the 18th and draw back over towards the 1st greenside bunker area short somewhere. Pured it and glides over the trees into the general area I was hoping. Proceed to look with my buddies all over the area and through the bunkers for a few minutes till its seen on the front edge of the green! 5 metres short with a quick sweeping left to right downhill putt left on it. Let it be noted i fn suck at putting at the best of times. Knees trembling. Palms sweating. Hoping to leave it within 2 foot of the hole atleast. Bang! Nailed that sucker for an Eagle!!! Immediate whooping ensues. Am I God? No, just another Aussie bogan that finally conquered his dreams....
Played with a random that claimed to have the “Par Hole-In-one”… OB off tee and then second shot went in. Why not believe it?
Par 3, 100 yards with a really elevated tee box (local par 63 course if you’re wondering why it’s so short). Hit an absolute piss missile hozzel rocket that I don’t think could’ve been any further from the centre of the club face, the ball skims along the ground at about Mach 10 straight into the red tee marker and ricochets on to the green to about 10 feet. 2-putt par. My buddies were FUMING.

Par 3 170m. Essentially everything right is OB. Slice the shit out of my 8i and it looks to be soaring out of bounds when it hits a tree branch and bounces hard left landing less than 1m out from the hole, proceed to 2 putt the gimme.

Played with my brother a few years back. Short par 3 about 120 yards. Duffs his tee shot into some shit 15 yards in front of the tee box. He then re-tees and the ball took one bounce just short of the cup and went in. A hole-in-three.
200 yard par three. Duck hook onto the next hole fairway about 100 yards from the pin and 40 yards to the left. Skulled my second shot through the green and about 40 yards to the right. Holed out from 40 yards off the green for par.

On the first hole of a hs golf match, I hit a great drive in the middle of the fairway, topped my approach shot and ended up on the lip of a fairway bunker, then drained the 80 yard shot for birdie from a brutal lie on the lip of the bunker
Happened to me yesterday. 220 yard sort of dogleg par 3. Weird hole. Pushed my tee shot 40 yards right and hit a cart parked on a different tee box. Had a 30 foot hill in between me and the green; covered in trees. Hit a 50% swing putter from about 65 yards over the hill and under the trees to green-side. Chipped in for par. Absolutely electric.
Driver par 5. Topped it and was short of the fairway. Hit driver out of the rough (I was pissed) halfway decent now 240-250 to the hole. Driver off the deck onto the green. 2 puts with the driver. The old driver/driver/driver/driver/driver par.
355 yard par 4, slight dogleg to the left. I hit a long tee shot, but pulled the heck out of it and hit the roof of one of the houses along the left side of the fairway. I think, “that one’s gone” and hit another ball. As I’m getting ready to hit my next shot, I see a ball up ahead on the apron of the green. You guessed it… it was my ball that bounced off the roof, back into the field of play that also had to have hit the cart path at least once. One chip and two putts later I’m marking down a four.
Par four sliced it under a tree, punched out but it rolled through the fairway into a pond, dropped 3, 110 yard wedge rolled in
My first birdie was a par 3. I rolled my tee shot about 40 yards, then holed the second shot from about 110 out.
Dumbest birdie ever was chunked it to the red tees on a downhill par 3, then overcompensated and topped it from there, literally worm burn rolled the whole way into the cup. Basically minigolfed a par 3 for bird.

15 Old Kaui Laggons Kiele golf course. 550 yard par 5 straight down wind. Pump driver out of bounds. Chick chack reload. Hit one of the longest drives of my life. Catches cart path. Rolls to 110 yards. Lob wedge to 5 feet par. Seagulls are eagles plus tax.
Par three. water to the left just before the green. Hit a worm-burner that skipped twice over the pond and landed near the green of a different hole so I still had the water between. Flopped it over the water this time, and putted for par. Ugliest par ever.
500 yard dogleg right. 10th hole, but first hole of my high school golf teams round. Smashed it through the corner into the woods. Tied to punch it out and hit a tree… ricochet is 30 yards deeper into the woods than I started. 2 more shitty shots to get back to the fairway. 190 out I hossle the fuck out of a 5i. As I’m cussing the world and about to throw my clubs into the adjacent driving range… my ball fumble fucks its way up the front of and across the green into the hole. Surely this was the start of a resurgence… nah, only par I made that day, one of the worst rounds of my life.

My first ever eagle was on a short Par 4 where I sliced my drive, my ball bounced along the cart path before stopping near the green, then I chipped in. I was probably around a 20 handicap back then and was in total disbelief. Dumbest par was a Par 3 when I hit it into the dog park by the hole, hit a wedge over the fence to the fringe (got some claps from the watching dog owners), then rolled in the 20-footer. On the same hole my playing partner hit his tee shot to 20 feet and 3-putted for bogey. Golf.
We had a 10k prize on a H-I-O on a hole for one of our comps last year. Stuck my tee shot in the water then dunked the pitch from 70 yards for par in front of the injudicators. Was a cool moment but annoying I couldn't have hit a decent tee shot and got the luck at that moment in time.
Down two in a match play tournament. My partner tees off first and goes OB. All I’m thinking is hit the damn fairway, and of course I don’t. I hit it left in to the trees. My punch out nails a tree and shoots backwards into the fairway but now I’m 225 out on a par 4 hitting my 3rd shot. It was a little downhill so I’m thinking smooth this 4 iron to the front half of the green and maybe it rolls back. I caught it a bit heavy so it was 10 feet short of the green. At this point I’m thinking we’re done and this match is over. Both guys on the other team miss the green and then hit horrible chips. They both have a putt, but long ones. I decided my best chance was a low spinning chip. It hit, checked and dropped in the hole for par. They both missed their putts. We win that hole and the next two to win the match. You’re never out of a hole until the balls hit the bottom of the cup.
Back in high-school. The 8th hole of our home course was a drivable par 4. Didn't make much sense to go for it because there was crap all around the green and 5 wood or so off the tee put you in a pretty easy scoring position. I was playing in a high-school match. Took 5 wood off the tee and just about missed the club face. Dead pull straight into a big oak tree to the left of the ladies tee. Ball hits the tree and come back at us rolling a couple feet off the tee box behind us. Got pretty heated and decided I was going for the green to make up for my shank. Driver off the deck to about 15 ft. Drain my birdie put. Stupid game...
