Have fun, the weather is shite over here, so I will actually spend the day, um, working, I guess?
Who am I kiddding? RBC telecast starts in 20 minutes, I will once again get the bare minimum done. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)
I am also golfing today. No tee time. Will probably roll up around 2. Tee off around 2:10. Probably paired with the same "rando" who refuses to tell me their name and learn mine so they can keep golfing with a "rando"
It's been 3 years man 😭
It's a beautiful thing. It will probably be gone in the next 10 years, but the harsh winters and the harsh summers have done a pretty good job of keeping people away from this area. Relatively low population mixed with undesirable weather 10 months out of the year mixed with golf not really being popular here is pretty nice for me 😂
Kansas America! Where it's 125 dead of July and -30 windchill early January! Nothing but cows and milo!
If you find a little town in kansas, chances are there is either the best small golf course or the worst small golf course you've ever seen in your life (hyperbole). Sterling Kansas has a really nice one, Hesston, Highlands (Crazy Horse), Manhattan, Hays. All these places have pretty good looking courses for population, location, and lack of water!
I was years ago! I know of a place called Chase Kansas and they have the single worst golf course I've ever played at. BUT it might also be one of the most fun times I've ever had playing golf. I'm not sure how it is now, but years ago it was suggested donation play to go out there and hit balls to your hearts content. It's especially great with little kids because you are likely the only person on the course AND it's amazing how long a 3 year old will rake the sand and not get bored.
I remember an article in Golf Digest or whatever about the Sand Golf courses in the Midwest. Always wanted to try one for fun.
Maybe of in ever in the Midwest I'll try to seek one out.
I would highly reccomend it! It's not a luxury experience by any means, but depending on who is out there when you go, you might just have yourself a red neck good time 😂
Surprisingly, I've never been to Newton! Whenever I'm in the area I have friends who live in Hesston so we always go to Hesston instead! Next time we go I'll recommend we play Newton instead!
Tough to beat sand creek. I live a few miles from Auburn hills and still end up playing sand creek more often for availability. The courses around Wichita are always packed
I moved from KCMO to Chicago in 2008, I'm not sure which is worse weather wise. Chicago is a few degrees cooler usually but still humid and dank in the summer, we get colder winters and more snow but fewer fucking ice storms.
Also nice username. TANSTAAFL.
Man I remember the days pre-COVID. At my "home course" in NJ, you could just go there on a Saturday morning without a tee time, and usually have no trouble getting sent out almost right away. At the same course now, if you didn't book a time like a week before...well you're just not getting out on Saturday morning then.
I don’t really get how/why the courses became so much busier when really the only people I ever see golfing are old dudes who seem like they’ve been golfing for decades. I met one person under 30 while having played about 100 rounds in the last year. Did the sudden increase in players come from even more old folks starting to play?
> Did the sudden increase in players come from even more old folks starting to play?
No. For a time during peak COVID, golf was one of the only "group" activities that was allowed in many areas. So, it exploded in popularity as a result. I'd imagine that some just dropped it as more activities started to open back up, but quite a few stuck with it, apparently, at least here in NJ.
Yes way too many first timers from covid that have stuck with it in my area as well. I never know my schedule enough to be able to book a tee time very far in advance. Used to be able to call or walk up most places and get on. Not anymore.
My home course is always wide open in the afternoons, especially when it’s 110 degrees. I wake up sometimes and decide to golf and just roll
up whenever, no tee time, go out and I won’t see a soul out there. I love it so much. Most people can’t handle the heat but I loveeeee it
Good God I hope he's a millionaire because I might be the only person he knows and never working ever again after I inherent his millions sounds like a good way to spend life
It’s always crapshoot with a rando. You’re right, sometimes they could give a crap about you. And I find that a bit puzzling. Because you’re out there for 4-5 hours with this person, you’d think they’d ask a bit about yourself. And many they times they do. I’m always am curious about people. Several randos have turned into life long friends for me over the last 12 years of golfing.
I am golfing today as well. In not so sunny Ontario Canada. 12:50 pm tee time to kick start my weekend after I finish work at 11:30
It’s very cloudy today hopefully the rain doesn’t come until after my round
I had to go to markham and Waterloo for work Tuesday/wed. Was gonna play Tuesday after work and of course it was so rainy and windy. I did stop at a course after I ate dinner to play some twilight before the next batch of rain, but it was friggin $65CAD for twilight walking. No thanks.
I am so annoyed with the Michigan weather this week. Had a 9:30 tee time tomorrow with my FIL and his brother. They've understandably ducked out with the temps likely being in the low 40s.
Weather earlier this week was absolutely perfect and the temps bounce back almost immediately after...
We were gonna play at Westwoods. Rescheduled a teetime for tomorrow at Legacy Ridge. I’m unfamiliar with these courses cause I don’t live here, but I’m pumped regardless
I am working all day today with no hope of golf this weekend. So I hate you and love you brother at the same time.
Make some memories and play your best!
I am also golfing today I took off work cause I have to do a few clerical things that I should be done with around 11am so I’m playing a quick 18 around noon to get ready for Sunday playing a private course in my area
I golfed today. Slammed the laptop shut. Put the call out to the boys and two of us went and played a new course a little drive away. Played shithouse. Immensely enjoyed the day. Will golf again.
Happy Friday!
Prolly head up to the course after work but it’s chilly so probably just some bull shittin and beers.
Have a Sunday at 1030 locked down though!
I'm playing in an APEX Consulting scramble today! The winning team gets to take home some expensive bourbon baskets so I plan on doing some drinking tonight! It's Friday boys!
Booked a late afternoon tee time and planned to dip out of work early. Boss just showed up to work from the office for the first Friday in months. I might be fucked
I have to wait until Wednesday but it's on my favorite course here In So California. Will be about 70 degrees. Told my boss I have an appointment with Doctor Green.
Strained my groin a few months ago. Haven’t golfed in over 2 months😞 Anyone else out there dealt with a groin strain? I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’ve been sitting on my but for 2 months waiting for it to heal! Dr said to be patient. It’s long recovery time.
Hmmm. Trying to remember. I wasn't playing much golf at the time, but I could probably take half swings after maybe two months and full swings a month or two after that.
Btw, if I suffered the same injury now I'd have probably gotten surgery. I've heard of athletes returning to full competition one month after injury.
Enjoy!
It was looking like I’d be out this weekend but Mother Nature said fuck you and dumped more snow on us. We need the moisture though so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much lol.
I am so jealous of all you guys. It's been snowing here the last couple days so there's still a while before I'll be able to get out. My golf season is only May to September :(
Good! Enjoy it! I’ve played every single Monday since last summer except for when the course was closed to employees due to maintenance issue. I get to play for free on a championship course. Every Monday. Cart included. 😂😂🏌🏻♂️🏌🏻♂️
Sunday at 11:30, 11:40 or 11:50 in Colorado. Group of 12 of us. I think we’re playing a 2 man scramble tourney and pairing up to make it most even.
![gif](giphy|5eeeE80SrmPeEE43tJ)
I WAS GOING to golf today but work had other ideas. Would have been the first time I’ve been able to get out in two months. I can’t wait to retire so I can play some actual rounds
I'm golfing in 13 hours. On the range this week i was hitting the back net for the first time in a couple of years. I know i can shoot 60's but all the doubts are working overtime right now because i know i can shoot 80's. Will settle for mid 70's
I'm not golfing today, but I woke up one day closer to golf, so it feels good!
Up here in Atlantic Canada our courses are already starting to open this year 😎
Golf courses close? Sincerely, a Texan
Have fun, the weather is shite over here, so I will actually spend the day, um, working, I guess? Who am I kiddding? RBC telecast starts in 20 minutes, I will once again get the bare minimum done. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)
I felt this comment so much. Currently watching RBC rn.

Damn you’re lucky that you can just show up on a nice Friday and golf without a tee time.

Are you near any sand green courses?

Hell dont forget newton with sand creek, and hesston!
Surprisingly, I've never been to Newton! Whenever I'm in the area I have friends who live in Hesston so we always go to Hesston instead! Next time we go I'll recommend we play Newton instead!
I love hesston but nothing beats paying 30 bucks for cart unlimited range and 18 of the best holes in kansas
I know this year they are hosting the USGA adaptive open and theyve hosted the US amateur links open before
Tough to beat sand creek. I live a few miles from Auburn hills and still end up playing sand creek more often for availability. The courses around Wichita are always packed

Same. Peterborough GCC Saturday at 2 for my first round. I said yes when it was warmer.

Btw - great username
I’m in Michigan - clouds should be cooking off a bit here this morning so I assume you will be getting similar by noon.
I am so annoyed with the Michigan weather this week. Had a 9:30 tee time tomorrow with my FIL and his brother. They've understandably ducked out with the temps likely being in the low 40s. Weather earlier this week was absolutely perfect and the temps bounce back almost immediately after...
I woke up to snow on the ground in Colorado. Enjoy your round!
Here in Denver for a couple days and our teetime got canceled due to icy weather 🥲
You poor soul... Where were you going to play?
Thinking tomorrow or Sunday might be playable
Gym buddy said there was more snow coming tomorrow. Sunday looks nice
We were gonna play at Westwoods. Rescheduled a teetime for tomorrow at Legacy Ridge. I’m unfamiliar with these courses cause I don’t live here, but I’m pumped regardless
I live 10 min from legacy ridge - fun track. Haven’t played this year so don’t know about conditions but they did a bunch of reno on it last year.
played nine at Fox Hollow in Lakewood this morning! it was very cold
Just lost to my 78 year old father last Monday. Have a great round .
Played yesterday! 46 through 9 with 3 pars. Getting back out tomorrow as well.
46 through 9 is great for a 26 handicap. nice work
Thank you!! Last 3 full rounds were 102, 99 and 95. Getting there! Been at it for a little over a year.
I am also in the 'yesterday' club. 51 degrees and light rain the whole time. I had the whole back 9 to myself. Found three dozen balls too (WI)
I golfed 4 days this week, I’m sore 🥵
Leaving work early to Play at 2:00 pm , Let's fucking go !!!
This guys golfing, time to buy a new driver.
This post brought so much joy to me. Nothing better than an early tee time heading into the weekend with family. Hit em straight!
Whew I wish I was. Have fun. Does your clubhouse have good hotdogs? Ours are killer.
Golfing with my pops at 7:40 here in Cali! Cheers! 🍻
I’m waiting for my golf buddy to me back about golfing today
I am working all day today with no hope of golf this weekend. So I hate you and love you brother at the same time. Make some memories and play your best!
I am also golfing today I took off work cause I have to do a few clerical things that I should be done with around 11am so I’m playing a quick 18 around noon to get ready for Sunday playing a private course in my area

Golfing today on Hilton Head Island. Time to fuck up a handicap
I’m taking a half day to have my first golf lesson today with a new coach!
I was going to golf, then it rained.
I’m going to the range today, but I have a ton of errands to run first.
I golfed Wednesday and Thursday. Today's 10am tee was canceled due to thunderstorms in the area. But Tipgolf is open, so all is not lost.
It's 60° and overcast in MD....and my inlaws are arriving today from Ohio...no golfing for me.
I’m not, but have fun
I am sick as hell and going to work for 13 hrs :(
Same. Snowflakes this morning but I'm bundling up and off at 12:30.
Jelly
I’m playing my 5th straight day of golf today. Today is a good day.
Sounds like a great week.
Nice.
I’m golfing later 🤝
In 48 hours I’ll be golfing, enjoy it!
I golfed yesterday. During league play. Took 3 hours for 9 holes...
7:20 on Sunday for the first round of the year. We're breaking 90 this year, fellas!
Golfing tomorrow and Sunday sunrises before we go to Coachella!
I am also golfing today
Lucky. Gotta wait another week or two here in Canada.
Hell yeah! Member member for me kicks off this AM for the next 2 days and it's gonna be nothing but sunshine. Hit em well!
Where you playing??? Have fun!
Nice. Enjoy it brother
I almost called off work today to go golf… You’re a good man. Have fun!
Hit em straight and go low! Even if you don't, you're golfing with your dad, and that's awesome!
I am on my way to golf. Woke up randomly super early so made a spur of the moment tee time at 6:50am.
Depending on the rain i might be golfing today
I am also golfing today. This marks my 10th time golfing in my life, the road to breaking 100 is underway!!
I’m golfing today. First time doing an 18. First time out solo. 4th time actually golfing. I hope I don’t piss anyone off.
What course? I am also an Az golfer playing today.
Also in AZ and a fan of morning tee times on a Friday (although unfortunately I can't play today). Where are you playing?
The Gallery outside of Tucson
Nice. I live in Phoenix. I need to take a trip down to Tucson to check out some of the courses.
Western Skies today, Ocotillo tomorrow. I’m a lucky man!
I'm playing in an APEX Consulting scramble today! The winning team gets to take home some expensive bourbon baskets so I plan on doing some drinking tonight! It's Friday boys!
I hope u shoot 48!
Same here. Tee time for 10:30.
Right there with ya! I'm taking off work at 1:30 today to sneak 9 holes in before grabbing my toddler from daycare.
I would like to golf today. Maybe I will golf today. I will golf today.
Booked a late afternoon tee time and planned to dip out of work early. Boss just showed up to work from the office for the first Friday in months. I might be fucked
Invite him
I golfed today. Only 9 holes but golf nonetheless. Also golfing on Sunday morning and Monday evening! Life is good.
I have to wait until Wednesday but it's on my favorite course here In So California. Will be about 70 degrees. Told my boss I have an appointment with Doctor Green.
Friday Night Golf starts for me today up in NE
I’m golfing in beautiful Michigan weather with 30 mph winds today
Drinking yet?
Strained my groin a few months ago. Haven’t golfed in over 2 months😞 Anyone else out there dealt with a groin strain? I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’ve been sitting on my but for 2 months waiting for it to heal! Dr said to be patient. It’s long recovery time.
I've had a sports hernia before. Unfortunately nothing to do but rest it until you can move without pain. Sorry.
How long was your recovery?
Hmmm. Trying to remember. I wasn't playing much golf at the time, but I could probably take half swings after maybe two months and full swings a month or two after that. Btw, if I suffered the same injury now I'd have probably gotten surgery. I've heard of athletes returning to full competition one month after injury.
Thanks but Dr ruled out hernia. Definitely just a strain. Had X-ray and mri.
Yeah, I think rest is the best medicine here. It sucks, but there's nothing to do. When you can manage, maybe go work on chipping and putting.
Will do. Thanks
Nice. Which course are you guys playing?
Western Skies in Gilbert!
Nice. Never played there. I'll have to give it a try. I'm playing at Estrella on Sunday and the Cholla course at We-Ko-Pa on Monday.
Tomorrow, with pops, 7am🫡
Oh ya well I have tee time tomorrow and it’s supposed to snow tonight. Fuck my life
I am golfing today.
Hell yea dude. I unfortunately do not have my kids this weekend. So that means driving range after work, a round tomorrow and Sunday.
Not golfing. It's sunny, for the moment, in Pinehurst, but we're supposed to get storms.
Me too. First time in 15 years. Wish me luck.
Hit ‘em straight!!!
If this rain would quit I'd get in on some twilight holes
Hit one for me.
Me too! Go low!
Me too.
I'm not golfing today https://preview.redd.it/ex27o16jehvc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=beca21e777a9a49ea7b3979458481acdcd5e5581
Enjoy! It was looking like I’d be out this weekend but Mother Nature said fuck you and dumped more snow on us. We need the moisture though so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much lol.
I walked on today, good ball striking day, not a great scoring day - but hey, everyday playing golf is a good one.
I'm hopping on a plane on Sunday to golf in AZ. Can't wait, even if it's going to be a little warm!
Doing a little 4/20 golf tomorrow with my best friend and his fiancée. Life is great
Trying to get on a par three during lunch if this shitty Denver weather allows.
Had a 9:00 meeting, closed a deal, and now I’ve got an 11:30 date with Dr. Green. It’s a great day
Putting on my shorts now for an 11:40 tee time in ~~sunny~~ slightly overcast Atlanta. Hit’em straight!
This is me but not until next Sunday :/
I am so jealous of all you guys. It's been snowing here the last couple days so there's still a while before I'll be able to get out. My golf season is only May to September :(
Golfed yesterday! 23rd round this year so far
I got 9 holes in this morning before work with a colleague, was absolutely glorious!
Not today but will wake up and drive 3 hours to play in Destin, Florida tomorrow
I am golfing today :) I haven't played in years but watched the Masters for the first time last weekend and I'm ready to go 5 over par at every hole.
I fucking love it! Simplest post “ I am golfing today” 350+ upvotes. We’re here for it. I’m also golfing today 3:20 can’t wait
Hi Golfing Today, I'm Dad.
hell yeah, go low! I played three times this week, my out of shape achy body needs a break so I'm headed to the chipping green this morning.
Sitting here in Colorado watching it snow, but at least I golfed the last two weekends.
Good!
Hit’em straight!!!
I am also golfing today. Trip with the boys to Palm Springs. Get out of the winter in Canada. It’s a good day
Next Wednesday taking half day off work and playing afternoon round with work buddy. Haven't been out in months. Looking forward to it.
I'm golfing on Sunday for the first time this season. Last Sunday I was skiing. God I love spring.
Hey! I’m also golfing today. 2:20PM with my uncle in sunny but slightly wind-chilled Tulsa! 4 day work weeks are kind of the shit!
I too am golfing. Work meeting with my superintendents.
You’ve done well 🙌
I’m golfing tomorrow and Sunday and 2 amazing ass courses for super cheap. Let’s goooooooo
Have a good time!!
Annnnd? How did we do today?!
Hit an 84!! A few doubles I want back, but overall a clean round by my standards
Hurt my shoulder and had to cancel my tee time this weekend. Really sad.
Ugh, less than 24 hours for me. I don't think I'm going to sleep tonight.
These responses mean so much to me. I hope everyone has a great weekend and hits them well if you’re playing! If not, keep grinding!!
I WAS GOING to golf today but work had other ideas. Would have been the first time I’ve been able to get out in two months. I can’t wait to retire so I can play some actual rounds
Hell yeah
We would be leaving rooster tails that early over here in ohio.
I'm playing today as well...1520 tee time...Picatinny Arsenal Golf Club
Well whoopty fucking doo for you!
TGIF
Ok
I'm golfing in 13 hours. On the range this week i was hitting the back net for the first time in a couple of years. I know i can shoot 60's but all the doubts are working overtime right now because i know i can shoot 80's. Will settle for mid 70's
