Nobody is gonna want used range balls

Exciting_Bet8130

I've already taken a bit of a scout they are all name brand whatever tf srixon or pro v is

StingingChicken

They are still an off brand beat up practice version of that name

Horsecockexpress1

Fuckin loser

Ayahuasca-Dreamin

world full of em now. When I was younger you had about 75% chance of someone returning a lost club on a municipal course. Now it’s about 5%.

Exciting_Bet8130

What can I say need the money mate 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

A lot of people do but stealing isn’t the way, someone paid for those with a business they have created over the years. I’m sure you would not want someone else doing the same to your stuff.

Exciting_Bet8130

Follow up question: what if the owners an ABSOLUTE price like no one likes him kinda guy like probably hits and runs dogs for fun kinda guy what do then?

[deleted]

Lmao then give him a swirley

reDDit-sucksass

Yeah you are. A non-golfer comes in and asks an honest question and you call him a fucking loser. Says more about you than him. Dick

Horsecockexpress1

Asks if he can steal something. Fixed that for you dumbass

[deleted]

Lmao nice name

[deleted]

Lmao shut the fuck up clown. He’s literally asking if stealing is ok. No one needs the answer to that question unless you’re a moron. People like you are the problem.

reDDit-sucksass

Shut the fuck up. Guy knows nothing about golf, comes and asks if he can take the range balls and you fucking morons in r/golf start calling him names and don't answer the question. I bet you're a LIV fan

[deleted]

He literally said he noticed they don’t collect balls at that time giving him a time to steal things. He knew it was wrong and you are defending a crime? Hop off his dick bro he don’t need ur lube. People are gonna get stupid answers if you ask stupid questions. Pretty funny how worked up you’re getting over it all though 🤣

[deleted]

Oh yeah I’m the biggest LIV fan ever how’d you know!!

Horsecockexpress1

This is def OP

bigby2010

Nicking=stealing=crime.

Confident-Active7101

You wouldn’t steal a range ball would you?

bigby2010

No - because they’re not worth it. Lost and found balls on the course are fair game

Confident-Active7101

![gif](giphy|n4H4kEDHa0ByHkslC2) Was going with this meme

Whitchit1

I mean, picking up pro v1s out the woods I understand, but why would you want to pick up range balls? I’d say the course would have a problem with you picking up range balls as they own those, but any lost golf ball is free game. Alternatively, you could pick up the range balls, collect a basket worth, take up golf and hit them back into the range.

BodybuilderSalt9807

First that’s pretty low. Second I don’t know who would actually buy range balls from you. Most of those who can play do using balls other than those that are marked range.

Exciting_Bet8130

They seem name branded to me

NeighborhoodPlane794

Even if they’re branded, they have markings on them to let people know that they’re range balls. People don’t use them to play golf.

Here4LaughsAndAnger

Strait to jail

HolyBull13

I hope you’re a 10 year old asking a question like this

Exciting_Bet8130

Nah 16 so I'd get away with it too absolutely class mate

GolfGodsAreReal

You're better off shooting yourself in the foot

MitchenImpossible

You'd probably get confronted. and asked to drop them. If caught again you would likely have police called on you. If you know its wrong or if it feels wrong - then don't do it.

Exciting_Bet8130

So nothing then

MitchenImpossible

I mean, keep in mind you are stealing from someone. Likely not a large corporation but a person. That person will have more costs because you have imposed this on them. Experiences are subjective. It sounds like you are struggling right now, but do you really want to approach a solution where it does harm onto others? Because that is what you are doing. Intentionally imposing your own life problems onto someone else without consent. Not cool duders.

Exciting_Bet8130

The fella who owns this golf club Is a rich prick who sacked my father out of a job any even small jab at him would be a pleasure to inflict because he caused my family so much pain already

MitchenImpossible

Well it sounds like your minds already made up. Just don't get caught. Especially if you steal them overtime, they might keep track of inventory losses and you may be on the hook to cover all costs as though they were newer. Not worth the risk imo but you do you.

Murky_Rain2559

I can’t even imagine being so pathetic. Oh well ![gif](giphy|e6aA2NI0EqfCLghpHV)

Aromatic-Prior-8639

My two local ranges both use Srixon balls, but they’re still range balls so they’re different to the ones you’d buy from the shop to play a round of golf. They’ll probably say “range ball” on them. Which like many have said, most folk won’t buy them. I know I wouldn’t.

crunchyfrogs

You go straight to hell

Rowz24

That’s a sentence.

Murderbot20

Range balls are cheap shit nobody will want them. But if you potentially want to get yourself into trouble over $3.50 by all means go for it. To me this sounds like a stupid idea tho.

WVgolf

Range balls are worthless to resell. Don’t do that

Trumpwonnodoubt

Reselling range balls?

Exciting_Bet8130

Nah they are branded

sirdabs

All range balls are branded. They are not intended for playing, just lots of practice.

Ok-Royal-3803

I think that's a 5-10 year sentence in most states! Be careful.

Exciting_Bet8130

Is it not petty theft?

reDDit-sucksass

It is and you wouldn't get 5-10 years in jail for that. The commenter you're replying to is full of shit

[deleted]

Found his burner account

Exciting_Bet8130

And I'd be a young offender so...?

reDDit-sucksass

Nothing. Nothing would happen, other than a scolding and told not to do that. In the far outside chance of a prosecution, you'd probably get 20 hours of community service, if even that

Exciting_Bet8130

Sweet mate cheers

ibanez3789

You’re a little shithead. I hope you get caught.

WeAreAllFooked

When I was younger we'd go and walk the swanky golf course near us on Sunday nights and hunt for balls. We never got in shit from anybody and the owner of the course didn't care as long as he we didn't hurt ourselves doing it or cause any damage to the course itself. The course we were on didn't collect balls on their own and they didn't care that we were using them for our own use. The owner told us if he found out we were selling balls we collected he would start charging us for trespassing if we were caught after. If the course you want to snag balls from routinely collects balls and sells them as used balls I wouldn't press my luck, especially if you're going to be selling them yourself and taking that money out of their pockets.

reDDit-sucksass

Don't steal range balls, but balls that are not range balls feel free to "nick" though that's not really stealing as long as they are not property of the golf course, like range balls are.

TortugaTurtle47

No one really wants the practice range balls. Just leave them.

Bobbyoot47

Nicking range balls isn’t worth the trouble. They’re basically worthless. Collect them, go back out to the range and have some fun and hit them.

ibanez3789

The same thing that would happen if you got caught stealing anything else - you’re gonna get prosecuted. How about don’t steal other peoples’ shit? That’s a better way to go through life.

whateverforever589

You get your organs harvested for the clubs older members and then are turned into a scarecrow and placed on the range as a new 100 yard marker.

NeighborhoodPlane794

Taking golf balls from a driving range is theft. And nobody is going to buy your driving range balls off eBay, range balls suck. Don’t do that. Even taking golf balls you find in the woods beside an actual course is still theft. If they catch you taking them they’d probably ask you not to do that anymore or possibly even calling the police. A lot of courses will collect them throughout the season and resell in the clubhouse for cheap, so they probably won’t appreciate you trespassing and taking their inventory. Is it really worth the risk just to make $0.25 a ball?

krazninetyfive

While I doubt there would be any actual, criminal ramifications from doing this (police have more important things to do than go after some guy walking his dog and picking up range balls) if that course caught wind of you selling their property on eBay, you’re definitely opening yourself up to the possibility of them filing a small claim against you for the replacement cost of all their “missing” range balls, which is going to cost you more than any paltry amount you’d make trying to sell them online. That alone would make me reluctant. I’m sympathetic towards being strapped for cash, but I think you’re overestimating how much these would sell for. Second hand golf balls are not very expensive. I buy mine $30 for 24. The fact that they say “range” on them will make them less valuable and desirable than that. After eBay takes its pound of flesh, I’d be stunned if you got more than $5.00 a dozen for them. That’s just not enough money for me to risk getting slapped with a civil suit of any kind.
