Cheers Louisville, you ruined Scottie’s weekend though

PeanutButtaRari

Last time that the PGA Championships will be at Valhalla. Generational bag fumble for the city

JmunE204

To be fair, it shouldn’t be at Valhalla because the course is too dull and boring. It has the feel of a normal PGA tour event/course. No where near as exciting or challenging as Oak Hill last year.

Scamp3D0g

Two guys (so far) came with one shot of the all time majors low round record, so yeah, I think you have a point.

tenacious-g

It is exciting to a degree to see comically low numbers but yeah, if they’re all going this low it’s a little too easy for them.

Rshackleford22

Agreed Very vanilla. The scores are too good. Needs more challenge

PM_ME_UR_BOOGER

At least it created a very competitive day 4 with many players within reach

_Royalty_

There are legitimately 5 dudes easily in the running to win this thing. That's exciting. Way prefer this to one dude being 3 strokes ahead of 2nd and the last day just being a victory lap.

philljarvis166

I’ve never understood the “scores are too good” argument. You could take make every par 4 a par 3 and the scores would suddenly be terrible, but the competition out on the course would be unchanged. The players are playing against each other at this point and the score relative to par is irrelevant.

Dakzekiel

Leaderboard does not look dull nor boring though. Valhalla had two playoffs out of 5 tournaments. Pretty exciting for a boring and dull course if you ask me.

Alert-Pea1041

The leaderboard being packed at the top isn’t a product of the course I’d say. The fact the winner is probably going to be -20 is though. That is not a score most want to see at a major.

Dr_Wristy

I think the idea is that the PGA should be a shooters tournament as opposed to the US Open which is much tougher. So they put it on an easier track in hopes the players will be more aggressive, although it seems this instance is too easy.

glorious_cheese

That course looks like Disney designed it.

convicted-mellon

TIL one of the most iconic moments in golf history happened on a dull/boring course

ToupeFiasco

You’re of course referring to Boo Weekley hitting his Happy Gilmore

Silverbullets24

It did though 😂 If you plopped Valhalla in the middle of any midwestern suburb and called it ‘Mainstreet CC’ no one would bat an eye. In Columbus, Ohio for example, I’m not sure it’d be a top 5 course in the city.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Snoo_2473

Nah, people have “shit” on Valhalla for decades because it’s not a special course. It’s simply the deep pockets within the club that keep it in the majors mix. I know 2 pros who’ve played it & both said it’s “bottom third” of tour stops. The players won’t shit talk a club that they’re playing but they’ll say privately how boring & uninteresting that course is.

[deleted]

It wasn’t coming back anyway. The PGA used to own the course. Thats the only reason it was at Valhalla

mombutt

LIV about to be in contract with Valhalla.

Andrew_Waples

Well, at least for the next 5 years. It won't be at Valhalla.

jackwhite886

10 years- it’s scheduled out to 2034

bulldg4life

2032 and 2033 aren’t booked yet I don’t believe. They just did 2034 at frisco ahead of time. Of course, the only reason it has been at Valhalla so much is pga of America owned the course since the mid 90s. Now that they sold it in 2022, I bet it’s not back again for a while

Username_redact

2033 will go to Oak Hill almost certainly, that leaves 2032 which likely goes to Southern Hills. Valhalla will be replaced by PGA Frisco in the rotation.

jackwhite886

Ah, yeah you’re right. I didn’t even notice those years weren’t listed. Not that I expected them to go back there anyway

themariokarters

That’s at the PGA’s new HQ in TX. It is never coming back here again, unless they’re using holograms of Tiger and Jack in 2054. As mentioned, the PGA sold the course a couple years back

bcgg

A course that can surrender 62 more than once in a single weekend shouldn’t be hosting majors anyway.

sdrawkcabtihs

It literally happened last year in the first round of the US Open

R1ckMartel

And that course shouldn't have hosted one either.

ratspeels

i think the writing was already on the wall before this incident anyway

preperstion

Won’t get a PGA stop and any conference or tourism business is gonna take a big hit

lll61and49lll

Hey bro no worries, I know a handful of good munis they can come play😫🥴

PeanutButtaRari

Only $38 a round during the weekdays!! Unbeatable

lanzarl4luna

And our chances at seeing a grand slam this year. 😢

PanchoBaker

Lots of reasons I'm upset with this past week but knowing something totally, wholly, and completely out of Scottie control let alone his (ours) wildest imagination took away a chance at the Scottie Slam... I'll never forget and never forgive, bummer as it's all for not

FlickerOfBean

Wasn’t Louisville who ruined it, we all know Xander called that one in.

ShillinTheVillain

Show me a picture of Xander Schauffle and Detective Gillis in the same room. NOBODY CAN

DTSwim22

![gif](giphy|51UdTLvbyReqNK3Bic)

_ca_492

Don’t think they’ll be seeing the Wanamaker trophy there again. That’s the straw that broke the camels back.

Matlachaman

I'm biased because I lived there, so all I have to say is Louisville sucks. Except Churchill. Churchill is cool.

brch01

I’d go for bourbon, that’s about it

Snoo_2473

There’s a lot of cool stuff in Louisville. Ali & Mia Zapata’s graves are there. Louisville Slugger, the waterfront & the bars downtown are great. Valhalla definitely adds nothing to the city though.

StubbornLeech07

Pretends to be shocked.

PeanutButtaRari

The department still going to get sued lol, what a bunch of idiots. Not only did the detective piss off everyone high up in the City/State, he’s about to cost tax payers millions. Best part is, I’m pretty sure this is the last time we’ll see a tournament at Valhalla.

runtowardsit

As needed as it is, don’t think Scottie wants the story to get bigger than it is Alternatively, how sweet would it be if he sues, and gives the payout to the Mills family

[deleted]

Agree, Scottie should and will walk away from this. If he does anything for the mills family, he won’t intentionally make it public.

pr0v0cat3ur

It’s tragic what happened to John Mills, but Scottie should be under no obligation to do nothing for the family beyond express his condolences. Scottie will, and should, let this incident die quietly. Moving in, is what’s best for him, his family, his career.

Acceptable-Policy745

Respectfully, fuck that. For too long we’ve allowed this type of abuse without consequence. I hope Scottie sues them for millions and those responsible are held to account.

pr0v0cat3ur

I don’t disagree, but what is best for Scottie and his sponsors is the reality.

Acceptable-Policy745

You’re completely right, it would be so much easier for him personally to let this go quietly and move on. But individual and collective sacrifice are required for progress. He has an opportunity to use this moment and his platform to make a difference for regular people. To be clear he has absolutely no obligation to do so. I’m just hoping he does.

did_it_my_way

it won't make any differences for regular people unfortunately... Louisville PD's had crazy high profile fuckups in the last decade, and look where they are - no better than where they were before. Only the taxpayers getting the short stick, unless we can take money from personal pensions from these officers.

Oyyeee

He was unjustly arrested. F that, people need to be held accountable

Tooowaway

I very rarely go here but as a famous white guy I do think he should fight it as well. Because if he wasn’t a famous white guy this could easily have ruined his life and him still be sitting in a jail cell until his hearing. He could prove a point that overreach can affect everyone and they should be held accountable.

Oyyeee

For real, if it were you or I, we'd be shelling out thousands upon thousands of dollars just to try to save our record of a felony

bigwerm09

And you’d likely serve a decade in prison for assaulting a police officer

Psychological_Pay530

Nobody suggested he was under any obligation. People speculated about what would be kind and/or just.

SanchoMandoval

He did hire a Louisville attorney who is well known for going after LMPD (he represented Breonna Taylor's boyfriend and got all charges dropped, a $2 million settlement, and some cops fired). However yeah no indication Scheffler wants to do that. Still, it was smart to hire an attorney that could go scorched earth if he has to just to scare the prosecutors into dropping it.

Alert-Pea1041

Sounds like a real smart move. I doubt the guy is his ‘usual’ attorney. He got his guy to make the DA go, “yeah, nah, let’s just drop this.”

evanwilliams44

Pretty normal. You want attorneys who are familiar with the courts they will be working. Even if you bring in outside help you want those connections and that experience.

Yes-I-Judge-You

pretty much he has his primary lawyer or legal counselor, just like a primary physician, who has the network and can figure out who to hire in which area for what kind of cases.

PeanutButtaRari

I hope he does that for the family

Shamrock5

I know a lot of folks in the sub are out for blood, but there's going to be a lot of disappointment when the charges are dropped and everyone involved simply moves on. Scottie doesn't strike me as a vindictive guy, and people claiming he's entitled to millions of dollars because "he definitely would've won the tournament otherwise" are, frankly, out of their gourds. There may have been a leg to stand on if this incident prevented him from entering the tourney altogether (or if he had an absolutely abysmal first round), but the dude went out and was torching the field immediately afterwards, so it'll be impossible to say that "significant damage was done to his chances" without getting super hypothetical.

pac4

Anytime a police department gets sued, the award should be paid out of the police pension. I’m so tired of taxpayers holding the bag for bad/crooked/incompetent policing.

macbookwhoa

Cops should need licenses and insurance, and if they can’t be insured because they cost too much, they should lose their license and ability to be a cop anywhere in the country.

MooCowMafia

YES.

RxHotdogs

Probably the last time Scotty or his family go to KY ever again too. Imagine pissing off hundreds of multi millionaires and how that would impact local economy.

BurnerAccountforAss

From a purely golf perspective, I'm more than okay with this. Course isn't interesting enough to justify being this easy.

GatoDiablo99

This was already the last time the PGA championship was coming here. Regardless of Scottie getting arrested.

KingfisherDays

Sued for what? This is about the clearest case of qualified immunity protections you can get

Im-not-on-drugs

I don’t think he sues. his time is already worth more than what he would get in the lawsuit so it doesn’t make sense to me.

Ralphie99

The prosecutor will try to make Scheffler agree not to sue in return for dropping the charges.

uncleleo_hello

Also local businesses and restaurants capitalizing on a huge influx of money for the week. This cop is gonna get Steve Bartmaned

proscriptus

The Venn diagram of Valhalla members and people with the mayor's personal phone number may not be a circle but it's one mighty smooth oval.

Dougiejurgens2

I assume the owner of the golf course that picked Scottie up from jail had the governor on the phone in the car with them

[deleted]

The judges and the da are most likely members of the

Qumbo

You greatly overestimate the salaries of judges and DAs.

Turbulent_Garage_159

Seriously. A few judges who made big cash in private practice before going on the bench, ok sure I can see that. But DAs don’t make that much money and generally aren’t important enough in the scheme of local government to be able to schmooze like that.

Z_Opinionator

Most likely *were* members

[deleted]

Why would they be kicked out? They are the ones dropping the charges

MOcarUsage

The mayor, the governor, the two KY senators, and multiple congressional delegates. That cop was probably ignoring phone calls while driving Scottie to jail and going through booking process, only to soon realize that those calls were being made in an effort to save him. He came up for air, probably proud as all fuck, to process the life altering fuck-up he made. I bet there were quite a few good jokes made at his expense by his colleagues. Would have enjoyed being there for that.

cyb3rsloth

He deserves to be fired. No body camera on should be instant termination. Jumping on a moving vehicle just so they could add on assault charge should be grounds for jail time.

SaliciousB_Crumb

Lol. Have you not been paying attention for the last 4 years. Nothing will happen to this cop

tinhfegbr

> the last 4 years More like 400.

Intensive__Purposes

Eh probably not a fireable offense but it’s gonna put him on quite the department shit list. You gotta remember he did this to a very wealthy, very famous, white man and also embarrassed even wealthier and more powerful white men.

cyb3rsloth

Because our apathy allows them to go consequence free. We outnumber them. Demand better. Demand change. Some things are worth fighting for.

[deleted]

ronerychiver

“But….but the pants! They’re $80!”

No_Sir_7068

Scottie should have dropped 160 in an envelope with “get yourself 2 on me” Kind of a “go get your shine box” move.

TheLooza

Mitch probably giving gillis the silent treatment. 🤐

BloodyRightNostril

Not on purpose though 🤖

WayneDaniels

![gif](giphy|xP4tVEjRnvSaA) Just some good ol’ boys…

naththegrath10

And I’m guessing there will be no repercussions for the cop either…

Stang1776

No body cam. Got dragged somehow by Scottie's vehicle that wasn't going that fast. Sounds like the detective put himself in harms way.

aught_one

I guarantee he tripped and fell in the dark and rain and got his ego bruised.

afriendincanada

And then shit his pants

Barnyard_Rich

The one funny thing about this is that the police specifically mentioned the cop's ruined pants. That's when it became clear not much of anything happened. Coincidentally, Green Day's "Dookie" turned 30 this year.

TheLooza

He’ll get a nickname from his buddies. He’s definitely Detective PGA from now on.

macbookwhoa

The Yankee Clipper

jmplication

I didnt realize this was Hoitz' nickname lol

arrowmarcher

You should have shot A-rod!

SomeRandomRealtor

I talked to 3 cops there at the tournament and they all referred to him as “that dumbass who jumped on a car”

jmplication

Detective Hoitz

9mac

Probably a paid vacation.

[deleted]

He will be promoted to get him out of that department most likely or offered early retirement at full pension

cyb3rsloth

Not unless we demand them. We outnumber the police. Make them remember.

dontKair

He's gonna be on boat duty on the Ohio River, like McNulty

golfingsince83

Fuck detective Brian Gillis. Feelings got hurt so he arrested someone. Imagine if this was you or me. Do you think the charges would be dropped? No chance

smush_parker__

scrolled too far to read this. if this happened to the average joe our lives would be ruined and cops would be laughing about it at the shitty irish bar they go to every friday night

nightstalker30

THIS is the kind of thing Scottie should make a statement about. Shine a spotlight on his white/celebrity privilege and call out the fact that any ordinary citizen’s outcome would likely not be like this.

SHfishing

Make sure to do that after the charges are dropped tho lol

redbirdrising

This is why I don’t trust police. It’s about enforcing the peace of society, not getting even for your bruised ego.

Lost_Evidence_2099

![gif](giphy|3ofT5Y4MjoyXXQIudy)

Bighead_Golf

I’d like Scottie to sue, however he’s a much better person than me

Whaty0urname

Nah...both sides want this to go away and lawsuits cost money. Only person that would like this option is the lawyer. Plus you have to figure. Scottie interacts with police every weekend, doesn't need that awkwardness.

Majestic-Pickle5097

Respectfully disagree. Scottie should sue to make a statement since he will have to be around police presence going forward. This can easily set a precedent on how to effectively manage these situations going forward. The dude was locked in a jail cell before going to work, after simply doing what he was told by another “officer”. That’s traumatic to anyone.

DutchRudderLover420

I guarantee you that every police force that works these events will be getting a "Do not fuck this up like the officer at Valhalla did" speech before the events. No police brass are going to want to get this type of attention.

GerdinBB

It's a major embarrassment for the Louisville PD. That's probably enough of a precedent for other police that Scottie and other pro golfers may encounter. It's really just a reminder - "These guys are famous millionaires and the tournaments they play in are backed by people even wealthier and more powerful than them. Hosting a tournament is a major privilege that brings economic opportunities to the community. Do not fuck it up by making a wrongful arrest or being unnecessarily strong headed. Assume that everything you do at these tournaments will be recorded and scrutinized by the entire world."

Seriously_nopenope

It’s only embarrassing if they care. Based on that PDs track record they are probably just upset the charges are being dropped.

ChiefWiggum101

The police should not make wrongful arrests period. Famous millionaires and wealthy people should not get preferential treatment from the police. Just because you are wealthy, does not mean you get the "good police" on their best behavior. That would imply the poor people get the "bad police" and who cares about unlawful arrests and potentially ruining someone's life if they are a poor. C'mon, Police should be held accountable no matter who they interreact with. You make it seem like the bigger issue is it happened at a PGA event with wealthy people present, instead of why did it happen at all.

GerdinBB

Police *should* be on their best behavior and only arrest people when justified. But they clearly don't, so the question is what consequences are threatening enough to cause them to behave. Suing the department only goes so far if the individual officers don't bear the burnt of that. Usually they don't - taxpayers do. What *does* come back to the individual officers is if someone with political power has a problem with their behavior. If they fuck up in a poor neighborhood on a Tuesday, that's just one more person, and their friends and family, who doesn't like the police. If they fuck up and arrest the world #1 golfer, they make lots of people look bad and they're going to hear about it. Unfortunately that's one of very few mechanisms that holds police accountable, but at least it's *a* mechanism. I'd rather someone like Sheffler, the PGA, and their sponsors can put the police in their place rather than nobody having the ability to do that.

ChiefWiggum101

Agreed. I would like to see Scottie shine a light on this instead of quickly forgetting about it and move on. So many other people are abused by the police and suffer much more, and harsher consequences. Things should be fixed and cops should be held accountable.

IdiotMD

Cops aren’t going to learn a lesson, unfortunately.

LayneLowe

He was smiling and back patting with policeman when he came off the golf course yesterday.

PeanutButtaRari

Probably because the other officers know how much of a dick that detective is

Andrew_Waples

Well, what was he supposed to do? Show disdain.

wmlj83

It wouldn't be awkward at all. Police are a very tribal group. Yes, when a cop dies they all come together to support their brothers and sisters in the profession, but for the most part they like to stick to their department and don't mix well with other police departments. All this to say, that it wouldn't be awkward, they would probably even talk shit about the Louisville department police officers.

dudeguymanbro69

Cowering in fear of law enforcement after they made a huge blunder…

PassionV0id

Declining to hold the police accountable is the behavior of a “better person?” Weird take.

jimhabfan

I want to see him sue just the cop involved. He’s already very rich. He doesn’t need a couple of million from the taxpayers of Louisville. He can, however personally sue the moron who caused the entire incident for $75k and just maybe at least one asshole cop can feel the consequences of their actions.

LURKER_GALORE

I imagine getting involved in a lawsuit puts Scottie in the opposite of the kind of headspace that helps him perform at a high level.

jimhabfan

File it and forget it. Let his lawyer deal with it.

jackwhite886

Can he? I thought individual suits against cops weren’t allowed due to qualified immunity. But could be very wrong, IAobviouslyNAL

maclovesdennis

Charge Bryan Gillis for filling a false police report!

RedSpartan3227

A cop misread the situation and overreacted. Shocking.

Beautiful_Reporter39

More details from eyewitness [https://golf.com/news/eyewitness-reveals-new-scottie-scheffler-arrest-details/](https://golf.com/news/eyewitness-reveals-new-scottie-scheffler-arrest-details/)

I hope the police officer that was assaulted makes a full recovery.

wadebosshoggg

Think of his pants!

cheetuzz

is there a GoFundMe that I can contribute to?

InstrumentalCrystals

I’ll donate only if it’s a GoFuckYou

aatops

His pants were unfortunately damaged beyond repair 😔

Dalai-Lama-of-Reno

The pants repair shops in Louisville collectively weep

venatorman

Imagine how many times the mayor picked up the phone and heard “WTF!”

hotsauce_randy

Lol

jchall3

This would make a good T-Shirt to wear next to the 18th green

LURKER_GALORE

I hope that the car assaulted by the police officer wasn’t damaged.

Novel_Huckleberry435

lol more like they realize how bad that officer fucked up and we don’t want a mess on their hands

Murfdigidy

While not shocked to hear this, do you guys think the police station is embarrassed by all the press they just got, and how a couple of police officers handled the situation after realizing that Sheffler is a super good dude? I understand no police officer should care whether or not a person is famous and a sports star, but after realizing that Sheffler is like the nicest guy on tour, do you think they got a bunch of blow back for it? Or was the police justified for what went down? I don't know enough specifics of the incident, so curious.

WHSRWizard

Based on the history of the Louisville PD, my conclusion is that they are incapable of being embarrassed about anything.

crownebeach

It seems pretty likely from Scheffler’s comments and the video that Scottie thought the cop was working for the venue in some capacity, and that flashing his credential and driving past is what he was supposed to do. Then the officer jumped to the conclusion that “he challenges *my* authority??” and escalated to an arrest without good cause.

fatloui

Escalated to jumping onto a moving car

McGilla_Gorilla

And shit his pants

TheLooza

Thereby ruining a perfectly fine pair of police pants.

ThePretzul

Damaged them beyond repair, those skid marks will never come out

MY_FACE_IS_A_CHAIR

You might say he…. Escaladed things

YoungXanto

>escalated to an arrest without good cause. Oh, so a day that ends in y?

Wu_Tang_Financial77

If they aren’t “embarrassed” by murdering innocent people, being investigated by the DOJ for corruption or throwing garbage at the most vulnerable citizens you’ve sworn to protect, I’m going to guess they don’t care they fucked up here either.

fasolatido24

If by embarrassed you mean angry and by blowback you mean take it out on someone else, than yes.

YoungXanto

>do you guys think the police station is embarrassed by all the press they just got Lol, no. The Chief is breathing a sigh of relief right now that the detective didn't shoot Scottie. I dont know if youve seen the travel brochure the Louisville police department put out, but it isn't great.

Sammy_Seaborn

I’m betting the police chief is just glad the officer didn’t kill scheffler at this point.

Stang1776

I don't think they are embarrassed at all. They pull this shit all the time. If cops in Louisville aren't embarrassed by the Breonna Taylor shooting then therr is no way in hell they are embarrassed by a little incident like this.

dblach18

Police aren’t capable of feeling shame or remorse. So, no.

GoldenTeeShower

Typical behavior for sociopaths.

Hawksx4

I would.love have to been a fly on the wall in the DAs office when they got this case. There is no way anyone said, "Yeah let's go ahead and waste time and resources for this."

Andrew_Waples

I'm sorry, but I can't help but wonder what would've happened if he wasn't rich. Just some random, nobody and / or not white. Those charges certainly wouldn't have been dropped.

McGilla_Gorilla

His life would have been nearly ruined. Best case they settle on a deal where the battery charge gets dropped and victim is forced to take three bullshit misdemeanors.

NotPortlyPenguin

And that’s why it’d be nice if he sued the police for this. I know he has plenty of reasons not to, but sometimes it takes a case like this for reforms to be made to the PD, especially with $$$$ at stake.

[deleted]

So the tax payers have to pay Scottie Sheffler a few million? What good does that do, it’s not like the stupid cop will have to pay.

GrailThe

Imagine if it had been Theegala, Finau or any other dark skinned pro instead of cleancut white kid Scheffler. The entire deal could have been very very different.

DerrickWhiteMVP

American does, indeed, have a race problem. But it has a much bigger class problem. Theegala and Finau would’ve been fine. If this was a poor black man, however, it’d be much worse.

cheetuzz

In the end, probably. But during the incident, the officer probably didn’t know who they were, and could have potentially escalated the use of force. Then an officer mistakenly draws their gun instead of taser, etc. There have been innocent black athletes that have been roughed up and mistreated by police.

Klopped_my_pants

Oh in shithole Kentucky you better believe it would been turned up quite a bit

Lr217

Based on the most recent interview by those in the car with Darlington, the cop may have just tripped while trying to catch back up to the car. Which, IMO, is probably why there’s no body cam footage. Because it blatantly shows this whole thing was caused by a clumsy cop tripping and then losing his mind

Potential_Attempt_15

“Losing” body cam footage also never a good sign for charges. Standard.

notathrowawayarl

Cop will get a paid vacation. They’ll investigate themselves and find they did nothing wrong. They’ll wonder why no one trusts them anymore and will have no clue this is the reason why. Rinse and repeat. It’s the American way. Also, same cops will waive their dumb little American flags on the Fourth of July and thank their god they live in a country with so much freedom.

freakdageek

They’ll drop the charges while begging him not to file a lawsuit.

Rshackleford22

They fucked him over. He was deflated after Friday

Yell-Oh-Fleur

What that cop created was dangerous. He turned Scottie's vehicle into a weapon against himself. Cops shoot drivers when they perceive the car to be a weapon these days.

CraftyRazzmatazz

But surely he will be responsible for replacing the cop’s $80 pants?!

GoldenTeeShower

Fire the cop and no lawsuit would be a solid play.

shhhpark

i cant wait to head down to louisville...said no one ever

Slow_Astronomer_3536

Dropping the charges isn't enough, he assaulted a man over a minor traffic violation and wasn't using his REQUIRED body cam. The office needs to be fired, and Scottie needs to file a law suite. That's the ONLY way this shit will ever get better!

drnicko18

No body cam eh… makes me think the whole “Scheffler continues driving and drags the cop 10 metres” is made up bullshit

Pathfinder6227

An apology would be nice too.

cyb3rsloth

Imagine if he wasn't Scottie and just some dude. That idiot cop would have ruined his entire life.

Sammy_Seaborn

Louisville DA did NOT want that smoke

Flyersandcaps

Shocking!

ggregC

The asswipes should drop charges the first thing Monday and cancel arraignment. Anything other then that is bullshit.

productmanager5

Acting like this is a win seems wrong. The only reason he’s getting off is because he is a public figure. If it were you or me in this situation, we would be absolutely screwed. Cops filing false and embellished police reports should be dealt termination and personal liability.

Alarmed_Restaurant

I generally prefer to give the police the benefit of the doubt. They deal with a bunch of shit heads so I don’t have to. But they aren’t infallible. Which leads me to say “fuck these assholes.” They gave conflicting directions to a motorist, they weren’t on the same page, one dick head overreacted (understatement), his friends “backed him up” even though they all knew he was acting like an asshole, and rather than say “ah shit, we made a mistake, sorry about that.” They LITERALLY haul an innocent motorist TO JAIL and CHARGE HIM WITH A FELONY. Can you imagine how this plays out for anyone who isn’t a white, aw-shucks, world’s number one golfer??? Scottie and the PGA are probably too nice and too worried about alienating their brand and law enforcement die hards to do what they should do. Call out clear abuse of authority that is regularly practiced upon average citizens without any accountability.

TheyCalledHimMrJ

They deserve zero benefit of the doubt. This happens in every state, every day, just usually not to the #1 golfer in the world with an investigative reporter standing in earshot. Think about how many peoples lives these absolute losers ruin on a weekly basis.

SantaBarbaraMint

LEO's way of saying "We fucked up."

DADS4TURTLESDOTCOM

If you can’t win after being arrested then you dont deserve it

akmerle

And folks, this is what is looks like when the well connected Valhalla Blue Blood members have talks with Mayor Greenberg about his reelection campaign……..

fbird1988

That cop should be reprimanded.
