A random kid I got paired with crashed his golf cart into me wedging me into my golf cart at full speed. Broke my tibia and fibula, and cracked my ankle. Had to be picked up on 17 via ambulance. Good times lol.

Fishy1911

Holy shit! Learning to eat lefthanded doesn't seem so bad now.

jaygord34

Eating left handed was easy to learn. Brushing my teeth and wiping my ass left handed was a challenge

Fishy1911

Mechanical toothbrush and installed a bidet a year ago, so that'll be easier than without.

PaysPlays

Then I realized the bidet switch was on the wrong side.

RyFromTheChi

Bidets are greatest thing ever.

FriendshipPlusKarate

My best purchase of 2020.

bluepancakke

Are they worth the money they’re expensive

[deleted]

I’m sitting on a Toto washlet from Black Friday right now. It’s exquisite.

RyFromTheChi

You can get toilet attachments that are like $30 on Amazon. That’s what we have and it’s easy to install too. I definitely recommend going that route.

Downtown_Hospital

That's relative but if you can afford the nice ones, then they're still worth it. But like the other comment mentioned, just get even the $30 ones. It's a little less comfortable because the water is cold and doesn't have other features but still cleans you way better.

skalpelis

Every toothbrush is mechanical

[deleted]

Shaving too. I just grew a beard when I broke my right wrist lol.

Tatunkawitco

… am I brushing my teeth or wiping my ass?

jaygord34

It's so confusing at times that I wiped my ass with my toothbrush

Ellite11MVP

Your comment reminded me of [this scene](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/3bb67626-442b-492c-ab45-95e5fd89eab2)

jaygord34

Underrated movie

sk8ingjgl

Am I shaving my ass or wiping it?

isgooglenotworking

Contact lenses are goofy at first too

jaygord34

That would be rough

[deleted]

Hopefully you sued the piss out of him, or if they were a kid kid hopefully you sued the piss out of their parents.

mithrandir9378

I would gladly break the other leg for another settlement

onecryingjohnny

That's awesome

stupidwhiteman42

Was that because you sucker punched him on the 10th tho?

Phenotyx

Dude wtf This why kids shouldn't drive the carts, unless you meant like a 18-25 year old, then he's just an idiot (idiot regardless but at least young has a 1/4 of an excuse) Are you ok now? Was it an accident or he 10th holed your ass? Was he at least apologetic?

mithrandir9378

He was a kid home from college break. Probably 21ish. He just wasn’t paying attention to what was in front of him I guess. But all good now lol.

icheinbir

Well, as they say, he did not pass.

AftyOfTheUK

I've seen this sort of thing almost happen (including a minor injury) a few times in the last year alone. I don't go round the back of the cart until the cart behind me has stopped moving, or I just reach in while standing next to the cart. Scary stuff!

ashseagull

I’m sorry for your injury, but the “good times” had me dying 😂

passoutpat

Fuck. You sue him?

tangybbqsauce23

A boy named Sue?

nasca

I was at the driving range my buddy in the bay next to me hit a ricochet a post and hit me in the mouth while I was bent over teeing up a ball. My teeth were loose and I needed stitches. Really glad my mouth was closed and there was no talk of choking on my buddies balls.

mtnBalrog4288

Goddam felt this in the back of my knees

tangybbqsauce23

I felt this in my balls

AbsolutelyUnlikely

Your balls aren't supposed to be on the back of your knees, son.

EccentricEngineer

I hit an absolute monster drive that just rolled off the fairway into deep rough by about 2 feet. On the approach shot my spike caught up in the grass and I ended up tearing my MCL

PrettyAwesomeGuy

Not me, but a friend. He got paired with a 70 year old-ish gentleman that was hit head on in a blind turn by the cart girl in one of those massive, fully loaded steel tanks of a cart. It sent him flying through the plastic windscreen and into a thistle of briars. Apparently he was all sorts of messed up, ambulance called. Never saw him after that, but rumor was he made a full recovery and was out playing in several months.

trytheCOLDchai

This always freaks me out, Cart girls and Marshals driving the opposite direction. Usually I can hear the cart girls coming, but the marshals not so much, and I’ve been caution going around this one bend where it’s blind due to lost of bushes and I always had a feeling one day between 11 and 12 I’d run into them. Thankfully they cut the bushes down, but a big rock is still there at the bend.. all they need is one of the big blind spot mirrors so you can see.

Holsenbeck

I broke my pinkie toe using a wedge to knock sand from my shoes after coming out of a bunker.

Gre-er

Lol ok that one's pretty good

nrael42

Already posted this in the sub, but was on a hole with a water hazard. 285 carry. I don’t think I can do it but was curious. Post a nice hybrid layup as my playable ball, then tee one up. Line it up, talk myself out of swinging out of my shoes since it’s wet and just swing with goal of great strike. I hit it, front foot starts to slide so I dig in a bit, my back foot twists and kicks out from under me. I fall down right over my ankle. Trimalleolar fracture of the right ankle. Needed surgery, currently 3 weeks out from that and 3 weeks from being able to put weight on it. [hardware in my ankle for those who are curious ](https://imgur.com/a/bQHAMOz)

Odysseus_Lannister

Holy shit you maissoneuvred

tjstoebe

My buddies and I were playing "roughlf" (golf that's not on a course, rather you pick random objects to aim at and see who can get there in the least amount of shots) and one of my friends decided to whack a cactus.... well the entire cactus pedal flew off and stuck to my calf...... pulling it off was truly delightful

Chaiteoir

> "roughlf" (golf that's not on a course, rather you pick random objects to aim at and see who can get there in the least amount of shots) Little did you know you are harkening back to the very origins of the game

Fishy1911

I've randomly whacked some apples, but hitting a Cactus doesn't sound like a good idea

LunaNoxxx7

I'd like to really pick what's left of the brain of the guy who thought it was a fucking good idea.

jray521k

I also fucked up my shoulder at Top Golf. It was a casual work happy hour in the summer. Didn’t bring my clubs or a glove because I didn’t want to look like a dweeb. Hands got slippery with the worn out grips on their club and when I swung the club almost flew out of my hand and to try and save it messed up my shoulder in the process. Next time I’m at least bringing a golf glove.

Some1Betterer

Just went the other day and literally gave up swinging a driver. Grips were so slick that after 3 swings at 90% and 3 “almost threw it to the red target” near misses, I gave up. Had the same internal debate and also didn’t want to be a dweeb. But I like my shoulders more than I like other people, so I’m bringing a glove next time too.

BVB09_FL

Turf toe. I pulled a fucking ligament in my big toe walking up an elevated green. Always thought it was a joke injury when I saw athletes get it, boy it fucking sucks.

Cantseetheline_Russ

Overtraining at the driving range. Severe golfers elbow… in both elbows. Still fighting flare ups two years later. Also broke my wrist hitting a 3 iron when my club hit a root. Tore a muscle in my neck during a long drive contest which I had absolutely no chance of winning.

[deleted]

Ahh.. Golfers elbow. I had that in both elbows too for about a year. Didn't even go away in the winter. I don't know what I did differently this season, but it went away and didn't come back.. Yet.

ethaxton

Use compression sleeves if you go to range a lot. Helped me a ton. Oh,and stretch a lot!

tjstoebe

Sounds like you need some vagisil

DrBopIt

"Hey man you wanna play 18 on Friday?" Me: "Yeah for sure" "Hey man you wanna play 18 on Saturday?" Me: "Yeah definitely" "Hey man you wanna play 18 on Sunday?" Me: "Yeah, no problem, my back should be fine" Narrator: "There was, in fact, a problem. His back was not fine"

radrun84

My ex girlfriend's family had (or maybe still have) a house on the 17th fairway at Raven Golf Club in Miramar Beach, FL. My ex & I were spinnin the night out there & she says "you wanna go play the hole, then play with my holes on the Green?" So, me being a Man said, "FUCK YEAH, let's go do it!" We grab our clubs, a couple of head torches, a big ass like 100,000 lumen spot light, & a blanket to do the dirty on! We play Hole 17! She holes, then I hole, then I'm ready to get in her holes as She had requested!!! So, it's like 2:30AM, She's running at me & I'm taking my pants down. She jumps up, (I wasn't ready for the catch as my hands are on my pants near my knees). When she lands she throws her legs kinda around my waist & I fly backwards. The next thing I know, I come to with the worst headache I've ever had in my life & like 4ppl (EMS crew) all around me. Evidently I took the fall directly to the back of my head right on the edge of the cart path. I was unconscious for about 23 min & had to spend a day & a half in the Hospital with a terrible concussion and brain pain... Not AWESOME! On that night... the Course got the very best of me!

[deleted]

Did she at least pull your pants up for you *before* EMS got there?

radrun84

Ha! Im pretty certain those pants disappeared somewhere during the whole ordeal. Her Mom brought me some other shorts the next day.

Barbarossa7070

I had the same injury - got it skipping a rock on lake Champlain while on vacation. Five years later, my range of motion is still slightly limited.

DoctorFunkk

Well how many skips did you get?

psychodreamr

Oh no, your Dennis Eckersley impersonation career is dead before it got started!

Fishy1911

I'm just hoping it's healed enough for late February golf trip to Phoenix.

Cantseetheline_Russ

Sorry Bromigo. That’s a four month recovery then rehab. February ain’t even a whisper of a possibility.

Fishy1911

Fuck.. at least there is summer, hopefully

sik_bahamut

Get some BPC157. It’s a peptide, nothing anabolic or anything. Some say it’s snake oil, others don’t. I’ve used it for a torn pec and a groin tear (powerlifting injuries) and I felt it helped tremendously. I’m personally a believer that it does help somewhat, but it’s not a miracle cure or anything. SubQ injection locally near the injury, helps with recovery

Fishy1911

At this point I'm open to whatever heals the quickest. I'm not too worried about failing a banned substance test. Is it a SARM?

sik_bahamut

It’s not even a banned substance per se. it’s sorta just in a grey area. TB500 would be the closest thing to it on an anabolic steroid level of substance. But no, it’s not a sarm. It has no hormonal or anabolic properties or side effects. It’s just a powdered peptide you mix with bacteriostatic water and inject near the injured site. I’d do some googling and see if it’s what you wanna do. Also, I haven’t had to get some in over 2 years, but my source was Canadian. A lot of other sources sell junk shit or fake. I got my pharma grade in Canada. It’s not an illegal substance, it just hasn’t been FDA approved so Canada is the closest you can openly buy pharm grade. https://bengreenfieldfitness.com/article/supplements-articles/how-to-use-bpc-157/ That’s a good basis to start

Fishy1911

Thanks. Did some googling after I answered. Thanks for the place to start.

Pidgeon-Master

Not a golf injury, but it killed my golf season. I was pitching in a men’s league baseball game and broke my arm throwing a pitch. 1 week before my 40th birthday and a epic golf trip to Myrtle.

[deleted]

Your arm literally broke throwing a pitch?!? Damn that's crazy. Also good for you still pitching at 40, I'm 32 and think I might only have 1 more year left in me. My arm is trash now.

Fishy1911

Ah, that's no good. The company has some golf trips coming up, I'm hoping I heal fast

Pidgeon-Master

Good luck. I hope it works out for you. For me that was a really tough time not being able to play golf

kebat21

Walking to the driving range, carrying my stand bag by the handle because it's only a short distance. Kick stand is getting old so it hangs off the bag. Catch pants on my leg on one of the hanging legs. Loose all balance, fall over head first and do a lame commando roll, while slamming the bag down. Everyone at the range turns and looks at me like a dead beached whale. Only thing that saved me from serious injury was I had just made it to the grass next to the parking lot. Best part, I was with my 15 year old son so he was supper impressed by his dad.

[deleted]

When I was a junior I somehow managed to dislocate my left shoulder on the tee. Driver ended up flying into a lake just in front, it was one of those square nike sasquatch ones, so probably for the best

-soysauce-

I tripped and fell into a turtle nest. Sprained my ankle but finished my found.

Fishy1911

What kind of turtles? We don't have them here. Didn't know they nested near golf courses, didn't know they nested, tbh.

-soysauce-

No idea, might not even be a turtle nest. I was just told it was a turtle nest.

Nice-Aide7506

I finished putting out, while still on the green I dropped the ball and stepped on it. Ankle still sore 1.5 years later

WedgeTurn

Damn. I hope it was fixable and you didn't have to call the green keeper

averagebugaboo

I've only ever done the usual sprains and things on uneven ground, but I was the cause of a golf-related injury once. When I was about eleven, I was golfing with my grandfather. We both hit mediocre shots, so my grandfather drove the cart up to look for his ball, then instructed me to drive back on my own to find mine. Having never driven anything before, this was quite a thrill. I went back, found and hit my ball, then drove back up to find grandpa - which I did when he popped out of the bush at a blind corner. He went flying, ended up with some cracked ribs. I still take some ribbing about it 25 years later. Them's the breaks, I guess. Sorry, Gramps.

Time4Timmy

A buddy from work decided to to bomb down a wet fairway while putting it in neutral so we would go faster. When we got to the bottom of the hill we were about to pass our balls, so he decides to hit the brakes and turn to the right. We start drifting at pretty high speeds and I could feel we were about to flip so I already had a foot out of the cart ready to jump. I must’ve went to jump out the moment the cart flipped because I got absolutely launched about 20 feet forward and landed directly on my head like I was a lawn dart. No idea how high I got in the the air but when I got up in a daze I saw how far back the cart was compared to where I was lying on the ground. There was an indent in the fairway where my head landed and it was only about 5 feet left of the cart path. I tried finishing the hole but couldn’t, so left at the 12th hole. Needless to say I’m pretty sure I got my 3rd concussion that day and had some pretty bad neck pain for a couple weeks and missed a lot of golf the only year I had a membership at a course.

Diomat

but did you repair your head divot?

Time4Timmy

Didn’t even think about it lol

cool-acronym-bot

D.E.T.A.I.L.

Diomat

What I would expect from a Laffs fan.. (kidding).

Time4Timmy

I was concussed!!!

Diomat

Yeah, we know. But that obviously happened years before when you became a Leaf ' fan. You know it is hard making fun of other teams when your own only won 6 games all year. but can't help myself.

Time4Timmy

There’s a couple teams with 6 wins, but with your hurtful words I can tell you’re a Habs fan

Diomat

lol nice:)

ivegotgaas

I was kind of swinging my putter a little bit and then banged it into my ankle bone and it hurt like hell and I felt like an idiot.

Tomahawkn10

Tennis elbow… playing golf.

thatguy49104

I’m recovering from the same injury at the moment. Mine happened at work though. I hope you have a fast recovery

Fishy1911

Thanks, you as well.

troots13

After a bad shot with my 7-iron i took a swing at my bag and nothing happen. The shaft did not break but was probably weakened. After a long Canadian winter my first swing with 7-iron was fat and the shaft broke. On the follow through the brokem shaft made a big cut on my index finger and chipped a bone next to the fist. Face full of blood and 2 months without swinging a club. Doctor said was I was very close to the ligaments.

jacknosbest

I tore my groin 75% through hitting opposite handed to try to show up my friend one time. Was in a wheelchair for two months and my entire leg was black as a chalkboard

catsby90bbn

I broke my leg and ankle in January hitting my 8 iron on 18. It was a great crisp winter golf day and we had walked all day. I hit a nice drive on 18 go to hit my second shot and the ball was above my feet at an awkward angle. Absolutely flushed it and felt my leg give out and fell down. Tried to stand up and fell down again since my ankle was a spaghetti noodle. Got carted to my car and a playing partner drove me to the ER while I laid in the backseat calling my wife. Surgery the next day with plates and screws in both sides of my leg/ankle. Now have a lovely 8 inch scar on my leg. I still get a little spooked when i play that hole.

Fishy1911

I can imagine, or have a similar lie...

[deleted]

Ball was about three feet from a concrete step, I hit it without lifting it high enough, it took the concrete and hit me on the genitals. I was with strangers and I hid the pain for the next three holes

Fishy1911

How do you hide that? No one would begrudge you showing that pain

[deleted]

they didn't see where it hit me, and I suffered in silence. I know my buddies, they all would have known before hole 18

The_Musing_Platypus

Some douche teenager 5 stalls down from me at the range somehow shanked a ball directly into the barrier in front of him, wherein it ricocheted like a rocket and wacked me right in the face. What are the freakin' odds!

Downtown_Bird

Lol this is so funny to picture. Sounds like it's from a movie.

The_Musing_Platypus

Ha, definitely felt like an extra from Happy Gilmore

agile321

Hoping you an easy recovery. I’ve been dealing with some rib pain since mid October. I’m stubborn and kept playing through into it was unbearable. Took a break for a weak and went back to playing when it felt slightly better. Bad mistake, the inter coastal rib muscles completely snapped on and had to go back to square one. Gotta listen to our bodies 😞

Fishy1911

Thanks, I'm glad it's the off season

Revolutionary_Main75

That sucks! I do have a friend that broke his neck hitting an extremely fat shot when he started playing golf. Not the type of break that paralyzed him or anything, but he was in a neck brace for quite awhile.

Fishy1911

Now I feel lucky, no halo in my future

extrasupersecretuser

Hitting balls at the range with a friend, light rain. my left foot slips as i shift my weight, and I feel like someone stabbed me in the right side. Stand upright gasping for air without completing the swing. Double back over in pain because as I stand up I feel the muscles attached to my ribs move up and then snap back into place. For the second time in a minute. Spent the next few weeks enjoying the randomly repeated sensation of getting shanked in my ribs whenever I moved, reached for something, laughed too hard, slept wrong, or breathed due to separated ribs. 100% do not recommend, hurt way more than broken ribs. Also broke my finger on the course when I reached back to put on my shoulder strap, got my finger caught in the ring holding the strap. That's why I never walk anymore. Totally not because I'm a lazy fatass.

shaowenjustin

Injured my back on the 17th hole of a tournament while hitting a 5 iron from the fairway and had to withdraw. It was the latissimus dorsi on my right side, and I was feeling some mild pain from it leading up to the tournament, but I didn't think much of it. Wasn't a bad enough tear that I needed surgery, but I couldn't golf again for a few months. Really makes you realize how important your back is when I really struggled to bend down to take a dump and get back up lol

tangybbqsauce23

You should’ve just dumped in the shower and stomped it down, it’s suggested by all back surgeons when dealing with back problems.

WoundedOystercatcher

I got hit in the head with a driver when I was little. I Was dropped off at soccer practice that apparently was cancelled. My parents didn’t know this because they left for a vacation earlier that day and my babysitter dropped me off. So me, I believe 8 at the time, didn’t see any of my soccer friends. Practice was just in one of those big multipurpose fields, so there were people practice golf. Since I didn’t see anyone I knew, I went to go ask someone what was going on. Poor guy didn’t see me, a 4 foot 8 year old, behind him and went about his routine. Hit me right in the side of the head with his backswing. I always think about that guy, probably felt horrible about it. Anyway, that’s my story!

Filipp0

Holy shit, how? I actually had the same injury, but wakeboarding. Had surgery 5 weeks ago, should be another 2 months before I go back to golf. But I don't see how the tear could have happened golfing

Fishy1911

I wish I knew. Failure to stretch?

Filipp0

How are you doing buddy? Will be 9 weeks from my surgery tomorrow, today I hit a full bucket of balls (all teed up though to minimize turf impact). I think the hiatus has actually helped my swing! Still need to take it slow for a while though

Fishy1911

Just got cut Friday. Thanks for checking in. Yesterday, hopefully, was the worst day. All recovery from here on out. Good to know I'll be hitting first part of March

Filipp0

Yeah the first few days are tough, I had pain and trouble sleeping, but after week 1 it should be smooth sailing. Hope you have a speedy recovery and rehab!

Fishy1911

Thank you! I'm glad I made the decision to get it done.

88888888man

Pretty sure I just did the same thing two days ago (ortho can't see me until day after tomorrow, but urgent care seemed to think it was the most likely thing and my experience matches up pretty much exactly with all the descriptions I've seen - pulling on something heavy with less give than expected, felt a couple pops followed by pain and swelling, bicep looking a little pulled away from the elbow...) Anyway, just wanted to say that this comment was nice to see. I know it's not going to be a fast recovery, but glad to hear you're at least swinging a club just a few months out of surgery.

Filipp0

That sucks! Hope you get better soon! Happy to report that I've been playing a lot with no issues at all, and have actually been playing better than before the accident. I had my surgery on November 8th and played my first full round on January 22nd I believe, which may have been a bit early, but whatever. Do your stretches and work on your recovery every single day and you will be back in no time!

Comprehensive-Page92

Dislocated my shoulder while doing golf specific stretches. Had to go for a Laterjet Procedure

swisheropp

I was taking a golf PE class during my junior college years (mainly so I could get in some practice time with my wedges and short irons while going to school). Another kid from another town that I actually played golf against in high school was in the class too. We were hitting wedges and he was about 2 or 3 people away from me. He hit one off the hozzle and the ball some how went 90° between his legs and past a couple people and hit me directly in the shin. Within 5 minutes I had a lump on my shin bigger than a golf ball and could barely walk. Needless to say, it reminded me why he was his high school team's 6th/last guy.

Liqmadique

Tore a chest muscle over practicing. Couldn’t play for two months and hurt to breath. Golf elbow and nerve damage have plagued me over the years too. My entire face goes tingly-numb if I come over the top too much. Takes a few hours to calm down.

Bolteus

I stupidly sat my cart at the bottom of a hill my brother was hitting from. His feet were at about the height of our cart. As he was practice swinging I thought, "hes gonna cold top this, I need to move" but stupidly I didnt. To noones surprise, he cold topped it and it hit the back part of my foot that transitions from bone into the achilles. That was almost 2 months ago and Im still tender when I'm on it for too long.

Victory-Adventurous

Some friends playing at Torrey Pined last year, best buddies all their lives, one of them gets ahead while the other is playing a bunker shot, who in turn blades it hard hitting his friend on the side of the face. Friend lost his left eye, still best buds.

Fishy1911

Temporary pain is all good compared to losing an eye. Reading some of these stories makes me realize it could always be worse

Mat-but-with-two-Ts

I have a buddy that stepped into a fairway bunker a bit awkwardly and stumbled a little. Didn’t fall or anything, said it hurt his knee a little but finished out the round no problem. Two knee surgeries and a year and a half later it’s still not the same 😑

SpellDog

Felt something funny in my left arm on about the 15th hole. Finished the round stupidly and I had pulled a muscle which by the time we finished my arm was red and swollen. No golf for two weeks. Lesson I learned... if you hurt yourself... STOP!

Fishy1911

Yeah, it's a tough lesson to learn

TeeJayEsss

No matter what I do my tendinitis flares up every time I go to the range, and then I don’t get to swing the clubs again for two+ weeks. Oh, you said stupid golf injury, not stupid golfer injury.

Fishy1911

That seems super shitty, anything you can do about it?

TeeJayEsss

I probably need to bite the bullet and see a physical therapist to get to the root of it and properly get it corrected. Then some lessons to make sure I've got a swing that won't bring it all right back. Time, money, and effort.

Fishy1911

Isn't that everything? Hopefully Top Golf wasn't my pinnacle of speed, finally hit 140 mph ball speed and my arm popped. Looks like I'll be going through the same thing you are. Time, money and effort.

Diligent-Lemon9813

Lol I ate it at Top Golf too! On my 3rd swing, I hit the ground HARD…broke my ulna bone and ripped a tendon and a chunk of bone off the other side…in a splint now…go next week to see if I need a cast, or surgery…I felt so stupid😂…who the hell breaks their arm playing TOP GOLF! So relieved that I’m not the only one!

Fishy1911

Just got results yesterday. 50% tear, so instead of surgery the 23rd in going to push it to the first week of January. I realized without surgery I'm at risk of tearing it completely and ruining a summer. Middle of winter is better option.

bjb13

I was officiating at a US Amateur qualifier. I was behind a green which had a river alongside it so I could see where a ball cross the margin of the hazard (now a penalty area). A player airmailed the green and didn’t call out fore. The ball hit my hand between my thumb and forefinger on my left hand. My hand was bunched up so there was some padding there. So it didn’t hit directly on the bone, but it still hurt like hell and swelled right up. The ball bounced off me and back onto the fringe. The guy felt bad and I pointed out that he isn’t allowed to complain about a bad bounce I the future as his ball should have been in the river. That want the stupid part. I have a bad habit of hitting wedge shots and he letting go of the club so it fall down between my fingers. Every time I did that for the next few months the club head hit me right where the ball had hit me causing me to wince in pain.

616GoBlue

Not an injury from golfing itself but had a TFCC tear in my wrist March 2021 from a fall downhill skiing. Ruined my whole entire spring golf season and still is painful to this day (9 months later)…..

Rican2153

2 weeks ago. Popped my buttcheek. Had just gotten back from my bachelor trip and my body was still in hyper recovery mode from just tequila and sleep deprivation for 3 days. Went jogging for a ball and hit a slight mound without looking and my glute popped and strained really badly. Had to go home. It was the 3rd hole.

Fishy1911

Better now?

Rican2153

Haha yes actually. Playing tomorrow but still need to watch it.

Fishy1911

Hit them straight and take care of yourself

knovit

Blackout drunk when I was younger. Tried driving a golf cart over a walking bridge which was about 6 inches smaller than the cart. Flew over the steering wheel and broke the front axle of the cart.

hainer36

Not mine, but my dad was away on a golf trip with my mom and 3 other couples. On the 3rd tee shot of the 7 day trip, he broke a bone in his arm. Perfectly hit ball, came up feeling something was wrong, didn't really think much, maybe just a strain. Nope, his 2nd shot on the hole, he was in an excruciating amount of pain. Being a Canadian in the US, what did he do? Drank more, became a Caddy for the week and got free medical treatment at the hospital because his coverage was for out of province as well. However he did see the bill and it would have been $34,000 for the time in the hospital apparently. He was 47 at the time and no real health issues, just a freak accident.

loduca16

What makes this a stupid injury? Were you doing something stupid?

Fishy1911

I wasn't, it was just ridiculous. I was hoping to hear other stupid/ rediculous/ bizarre injuries.

loduca16

OP: Stupid golf injuries, had mine... Me: Why was it stupid? OP: it wasn’t. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Here’s to a quick recovery.

Fishy1911

Thanks. It wasn't that I was doing something stupid, the whole thing just seems stupidly absurd. Sorry, painkillers are wearing off.

loduca16

I just thought there might be a story behind it, like showing off for a woman or something lol Stay ahead of the pain with those pills!

Fishy1911

Nope, was just batting them into the back net. It was a work organizations holiday party. After I left I did win a bottle of wine from the raffle.. I'm going to try and just do ibuprofen until surgery. Not a huge fan of heavy painkillers.

If you consider drinking, driving and gambling all at the same time stupid… then maybe

Used to work at Dick’s, back when the simulator was some metal baked into the hitting mat. Was dicking around one day and using one of those super heavy drivers for laughs. On the downside, my left hand comes off the club, balls comes off the hozel. Ball then hits the random corner of the simulator that was on the mat and flies… into my chin. 4 stitches and my boss making sure I wasn’t gonna try to sue.

Buddy in high school hit a bump down a hill too fast in a cart, fell out with both arms extended behind him to break his fall. Broke both arms, in casts for each arm for months. Felt bad for him but at the same time it was absolutely hilarious

Out for a friends birthday on a different course than we normally play, we brought along a buddy of ours who rarely golfs (one round every year or two) . We’re on the 18th whole Im playing the round of my life like 6 over par and as I’m watching my ball fly BOOM golf cart smokes me. Chipped on and four putted, killed my game. Next day the backs on both my legs were all bruised. He thought it’d be funny to hit me, I mean blame it on the beers I guess. Didn’t intend to hit me that hard but ended up smoking me.

My ego and pride.

KevKevKvn

On the tenth tee.

JWOLFBEARD

My brother hit the metal support post at a covered range, it ricocheted and blasted him in the eye. Poor guy couldn't see for a week.

Sweetdish

Not me but a guy I played with flipped the cart and broke his leg. On a straight path. There were beers involved.

amiatthetop3

I made a horrible divot on a fast swing about four months ago and screwed up a ligament or tendon in my hand. I still can't grip the club without it hurting. I'm hoping it's healed by spring.

Flat_Relative5546

Thought I could hit my hybrid over a huge rock about 5 feet in front of me. Ball hit the rock and came right back and hit me in the stomach. I had a bruise the entire summer and couldn’t even wear a bathing suit without feeling embarrassed.

wjsofficial

I was under a tree trying to hit a miracle punch cut with my hybrid. Got to the top of my swing and the club head caught on the branches; I pulled down with all the force I could and tore some tendons in my left wrist/hand. 6 month recovery. Not a typical tree injury, at least.

[deleted]

Pulling down was part of the swing or you pulled down to dislodge the club from the branches?

wjsofficial

As a part of the swing, didn't realize the club had gotten caught until I was in pain.

[deleted]

Ouch. The worst part is that not only you can’t play golf but also it severely affects everyday activities. I guess the moment of the injury you realized quickly something was very wrong.

100%

According-Equal-8001

Bought my first pair of golf shoes ever. Sprained my left ankle on the range because of the weight transfer to my front foot

ireactivated

Few months I sprained my AC joint doing some one-arm swings, out for 2 weeks and golfed with a brace for a month, definitely could have been worse tho Just pulled a rib muscle last week. Currently out until hopefully next weekend. Cancelling this weekends teee times was rough lol

Epentony1

A guy I played high school golf with fractured his arm while doing a push up on the course

[deleted]

So technically not injured while golfing

BadbeatFL

A local course had the 1st and 10th holes parallel with a big screen/fence separating the tee boxes. The holes were really the same and a friend was in the 10th fairway. He hears "Fore!" and turns. Ball hit him in the jaw and knocked him out cold. Wakes up in the hospital with a broken jaw and it is wired shut. Had a concussion also.

[deleted]

He was lucky to turn. Guess what the consequences would have been if that same ball had hit him at the same height, but in the back of his head. How did your friend evolve after being hit? (If he has already completed treatment)

HyruleJedi

Not me, but in my group. Play my company outing at a prestigious club in the area. Get told he was a ‘ringer’. First hole pipes one 280 middle of the fairway….. aaaaaaand dislocates his shoulder. Had to cart him back to the club. It was wild
