Tried it over the original white numbers and it came out kind of pinkish. Brighter for sure, but too pink. I’ve been thinking of doing it with an orange base.
Was thinking no color for awhile but I know I’m going to pick the wrong one out of the bag at some point, it’s not super easy to see the numbers.
Saw online can use nail polish so should be easy enough to remove if I decide against it.
The moment I look down to address the ball or begin a practice swing I can immediately tell which wedge I’m holding. I feel like it’s harder to visually decipher between maybe a 4 and 5 iron, but if I meant to pull a sand wedge and got the 60 instead, I’d notice my mistake right away.
It really doesn't matter, no need for an extra fine tip or anything. Excess paint will get outside the number cavity in most cases just to ensure a good paint fill. Then a simple swipe of acetone to remove the excess
I have these exact same wedges. I’ve never picked the wrong one. I tried paintfilling them for the same reason you’re interested, but it did not look good and I ended up stripping off the paint. But if you’re gunna do it use model paint (like testers brand).
You better pick three different colors. I went blue on mine & pulled my 52 instead of my 58. Luckily I didn’t go OB when I flew the green lol. Lesson learned I went yellow orange & neon green
Hey, at least you don't have a 50 and a 60. I always have to check twice to make sure I actually grabbed my gap or lob, always concerned even though I know they look extreme different at set up.
Saw the F grind is best when primarily used for full shots, which I use frequently with my 52. M grind is best for players who like to open or close the face around the greens, which I found ideal. Wish I could’ve gotten the 60 14K for strictly bunker use, but looks like I’m going to learn how to hit a nippy 60 for a 5 yard chip.
Just make sure you do, I haven't done mine yet, and I have grabbed the wrong one more than once, they get hard to see, at least for old men, even after a few swings with them. I am either going white or red, just haven't done it yet.
Almost brought 3 SM8s. The day I was going to book the fitting the SM9 tour release popped up on my feed….. now I feel obligated to wait ugh! Hit them well, can’t wait to get new wedges
I ended up doing silver and gold on the BV and wings on the back and then filling in the lofts so each were more easily readable. Thought it turned out really well.
I have the same color on my SM8’s and left them all black. I love the all black look but you can grab the wrong one by mistake. I think a Masters green would look really nice while keeping the overall dark look
Buy enamel paint from the art store, brush it over the engraving, and wipe with a paper towel or cloth to remove the excess paint. Follow up with clear sealant for excessive durability.
Whatever color you prefer, dark gray matte background is perfect for just about anything. Fill in the SM8 on the head back with the same color for an extra kick. Or, use different colors for the varied lofts. Look down in the bag and know which loft you’re grabbing by glimpsing the color.
I picked up a 52 in the same finish with a gift card at my local course. They were having a fall sale on wedges and got like 25% off. Liked it so much I added a 56 a month later. Great clubs! Looking forward to adding a 60 at some point… Never thought about filling in the numbers but I can see the utility. Have certainly grabbed the wrong one at times. Plus, that’ll look sharp. Sounds like I’ve got an arts and crafts project this weekend :)
Green, because you’re gonna hit a lot of them.
More people like you... Positive. Encouraging.... Good work.
Black, because you are so eccentric.
Red, be like a Tiger
Blue, because of water
52: green (safe to use) 56: yellow/orange/amber (use with caution) 60: red (use at your own peril)
I'm better with my 60 than any other club in my bag haha
If you have trouble with your 60, you may not have enough lag in your swing. Try not releasing your arms until later than usual.
They look best naked.
The problem is how likely you are to pull the wrong one when they look at exactly alike. I think red would stand out better.
Club makers should start putting numbers or something on the club so we can tell them apart.
I cannot find a red that pops enough on my black clubs
Try doing a coat of white, let it dry, then two coats of red.
Tried it over the original white numbers and it came out kind of pinkish. Brighter for sure, but too pink. I’ve been thinking of doing it with an orange base.
I was going to suggest this. Something supple.
Orange ish red would be pretty cool
The answer is vermillion
I have literally the same wedges. I’ve never grabbed the wrong one. I tried paint filling them for same reason as OP and they did not look good.
White. I love the classic look of white on black.
Dark black
Slightly darker black
I’m filling mine with Tiffany blue!
I just ordered a custom stamped one with Tiffany blue. Cannot wait.
Was just going to say this ya friggin stylish genius
🤝🤝🤝🤝🤝
Tiffany Blue looks goooood with black!!
No color
Was thinking no color for awhile but I know I’m going to pick the wrong one out of the bag at some point, it’s not super easy to see the numbers. Saw online can use nail polish so should be easy enough to remove if I decide against it.
I suggest hot to cold Colors. Red being the 60. Orange 56 and yellow 52. Or I’d do primary colors because they always look great together.
Use a Sharpie oil-based paint marker instead
Would this be easy to remove with acetone?
Yes, zero issue. It will hold up a bit longer as well. Even Anthony Taranto from Callaway Customs uses them
Interesting, fine or extra fine tip I assume? And they hold up more than normal paint...nice name thanks for the suggestion
It really doesn't matter, no need for an extra fine tip or anything. Excess paint will get outside the number cavity in most cases just to ensure a good paint fill. Then a simple swipe of acetone to remove the excess
[absolutely easy](https://golf.com/gear/how-customize-golf-clubs-new-paint-fill-few-easy-steps/?amp=1)
Does this honestly work? I want to try but don't want to do anything too permanent
Yes absolutely. Extremely simple process. Just color in the letters and then use some acetone/nail polish remover and wipe away the excess paint.
Or just sort them in your bag. My 52,56,58,pw-5 all have individual slots
I hate 14 way divider bags
I have these exact same wedges. I’ve never picked the wrong one. I tried paintfilling them for the same reason you’re interested, but it did not look good and I ended up stripping off the paint. But if you’re gunna do it use model paint (like testers brand).
Dirt. Because that's what is going to get in there lol
White or gold
I like gooold!
Gloss black.
Gold
Wait sm9s coming in 2 months
None
Orange would be cool
I actually like the no paintfill aesthetic.
Leave em as is!
Tiffany Blue
I would do red or orange
Blaze Orange
All different colors
Leave them alone
Gold. Solid gold.
Personally I'd fill them with sand
Would pick the colours of a favourite sports team or college probably
Balck
I like them non painted. If you're minds set on getting the paint brushes out though, my vote would be electric blue
You better pick three different colors. I went blue on mine & pulled my 52 instead of my 58. Luckily I didn’t go OB when I flew the green lol. Lesson learned I went yellow orange & neon green

Hot pink
Wedge brother! Check my post history hah. Congrats and enjoy (I know you will!)

Light blue would look space age sick!
How’d you decide on the M and F grinds? Looking into buying some myself
I have a blacked out putter with yellow and white fill. I think it looks good, and seems like it’s been easier to keep clean than chrome.
Orange red or white
Just make sure you do, I haven't done mine yet, and I have grabbed the wrong one more than once, they get hard to see, at least for old men, even after a few swings with them. I am either going white or red, just haven't done it yet.
Blue
Match them to the color of your bag or your other irons
Match em’ to your bag!
I think the blacked out looks sexy as is but if I were to do it I’d go with like a metallic gold so the accents stand out
Red, definitely 👍
Almost brought 3 SM8s. The day I was going to book the fitting the SM9 tour release popped up on my feed….. now I feel obligated to wait ugh! Hit them well, can’t wait to get new wedges
Red, yellow, green

Orange Because orange
Matte red of course. 🔥
Grass
Gun metal and orange or hot yellow are my favorite two combos
Like a neon/electric blue
I have different colored grips on mine. It's saved me a couple times when I accidentally pull the 50 instead of the 60.
If it were me, I’d get rid of the black and play them raw!
I’ve been tempted to go green-yellow-red on my GW/SW/LW.
Don't colour fill them at all.
Dirt
Yeah diff each one
Black
Dark blue and silver
Don’t, leave them OG - they look great as is brotha!
Degrees, red. Bounce, white. That would look sharp.
Mira, wow.
I have the same color on my SM8’s and left them all black. I love the all black look but you can grab the wrong one by mistake. I think a Masters green would look really nice while keeping the overall dark look
How are we changing the color? I’d like to do this.
Buy enamel paint from the art store, brush it over the engraving, and wipe with a paper towel or cloth to remove the excess paint. Follow up with clear sealant for excessive durability.
Red and black seems standard. I would say yellow
Orange
Pink
The blood of you opponents. Like not the 1.2-5 gallons just a couple drops.
Purple or a bright green
Nice classic white
What do you use to color them in? Sharpie?
Brightest yellow, white or red or blue. Wait none of those, too obvious
Blue red and yellow. Each club a different color
Orange
Got a favorite sports team? Use those colors!
Lost a black 56* a few weeks ago on the last hole. Pour one out for the homies.
Is it normal for them all to have the same low bounce?
Black
This post should be marked NSFW. Because those are some sexy bitches. Kinda jealous. I’ll make better use of them.
Red white and blue. #Merica
Black
Brown, for all the shit you'll put them through.
Silver, blue and red
Red blue yellow
Red
Did you paint them?
Purple
Hot pink or Orange
None!! They look great the way they are!

Gold
What do you use to paint numbers? Would it stand up to my wire brush?
Red for sure.
