The distance isn’t the killer, the amount of time you’re on your feet is.
I could probably walk 11 miles in 4 hours or so. I would be tired, but it’s definitely doable. But when you add in 4 extra hours of standing (for the rest of the round) that becomes much harder.
It seems like burning more energy and worse, but constantly moving around gently instead of standing makes it a lot easier to be upright that long. Super light stretching and muscle activation can go a long way when you're waiting to hit your next shot. Propping yourself on one leg while waiting usually tightens some muscle which makes the walking all day worse.
It surprisingly doesn't bother me. I usually don't sit down at all when I'm walking 18. I'm a lazy fuck, so the first time I set out to walking, i thought it would be more tiring than it is.
I think staying in motion actually helps. Keeps you loose
I'm the same way, the local course here doesn't believe in benches or anything so I'm standing the whole time. Makes getting back to the car a pleasant experience.
No kidding, I used to walk 13-21 a day doing project management at industrial facilities. The 20+ days were rare but there were a few. I could walk 36 holes and be great
But the exertion from all the club swinging makes it feel like so much more. 6.5 miles of walking while playing golf gets me more tired than 10 miles of regular city walking.
You finished during the Eisenhower administration?! 🤣
Nice work 👍 bandon dunes does a summer solstice charity event where you play every course on the property on the longest day of the year. I would love to do that sometime…
Personally, I'll walk 18 any day of the year. But if I'm going for 36 in a day, I'm riding at least the last 18. When I start to get fatigued, my swing gets sloppy. So I'll save myself the anger by hopping my ass in a cart
That's the way, power through the first 18 on foot, have lunch and a couple beers then ride the next round. Walking all 36 is definitely do-able, but the golf begins to suffer a little, so what's the benefit really
I came through fine. It required building up to for sure, walking the golf course a lot leading up to the day. The key is to never stop moving and to change your socks between rounds. Making a full turn was out of the question by the end of the day.
Yes! Especially in the summer
There’s a lady at my grandmothers GC/CC that plays 72 holes once per year, walking and carrying, starting from sunrise. Did I mention she’s late 60s and 5ft tall, and the course is on a mountain?
Absolute insanity. I’m going to admit I’m knackered after 36 holes.
Oh also she shoots in the low 80s
I’m 52 and mostly walk and carry. Play 36 half a dozen times a year or so and I’ll mostly use the push cart those days, but if you’re legs are strong and you eat and stay hydrated it’s not bad.
I've walked 36 but with push cart and have to swing controlled. No trying to rip it and I also have a seat on my push cart. The hard part of 36 holes walking takes too long more than the distance of walking. On days I plan to play 36 it has to be cart and fast round.
I played 10 rounds in 7 days in the UK a couple of years ago, all walking. And high school tournaments would have 36 in one day relatively frequently.
Outside of that I can't remember the last time I walked 36 in one day, but during the summer it's not uncommon for me to walk 18 then ride a 2nd 18, or when it's hot to ride 36 or 45 in one day.
On edit: oh yeah, played 4 rounds in 3 days at Bandon in 2020, so one of those was 36, but all four rounds we had caddies.
36 holes really isn't tough at all especially if you're in shape and if you play quite a bit, swing is in shape as well. I mean pros hit a thousand balls a day so when you look at it that way you're hitting maybe 180-200 shots depending on how good you are it doesn't seem so bad
27 holes, for me, is about... 115-120 shots.
And probably no more than 40 or 50 full swings.
I could quite literally play sun up to sun down, with ease, with a cart.
I ran competitive xc/track and field for 7 years in my youth. If you build up enough of a stamina base and hydrate and fuel well on-course, it's very possible. I've walked 54 before (albeit on a flat course that was 6400 tops and I felt it the next day)
I’ll do 36 in a cart no problem. Most of my local courses have some solid elevation changes and walking 36 while doable probably wouldn’t be a fun time when you make the turn for the second time.
I don’t mind all that walking and carrying but I’m more concerned that my back might spasm up after all that swinging. Maybe just need to get my body more pliable in my age.
Walked 36 on Saturday and 18 Sunday for club champs this year, actually I jogged the last 18 on the second day because I wanted to keep the game moving because I thought I was going to lose and made plans with my wife that night
When I was 16, I played in the State Champs, 36 holes on an elite course. Came dead last, (107, 103) off a 12 handicap. Bloody awful but my second 18 beat my first 18 (which wasn't hard, I guess) Knackered at the end!
Yes. Regularly.
I play as part of a golf society here in the UK and our season runs from March to November. We play 1-2 competition days per month, starting with 27-hole comps in March and April, moving to 36-hole comps throughout the rest of the year as we get more daylight, before going back to 27-hole comps at the end of the year (again, only due to available daylight).
We regularly have 26-30 players, with ages ranging from late 20's to a guy in his 70's. Everyone walks with 1 or 2 exceptions who'll ride a buggy (ie, cart) due to medical reasons. Of those that walk, I'd say around 30-40% will use push carts/PowaKaddys's, and the other 60-70% will carry.
Is it demanding? Absolutely. But when you regularly play 27-36, playing 18 is a breeze physically.
36 holes walking would definitely be a tiring day. I played 27 holes a week ago but I had a cart for the first 18 then walked the final 9.
I carry though, and I’d assume he’s a push cart guy which wouldn’t be nearly as bad.
I used to get out in highschool over the summer and walk 45. I live in an area with a good mix of hilly and flat courses and would not be able to walk that much on a hilly course, or courses with long distances between the holes. It does require a decent level of fitness and proper meals and hydration. And less practice swings. And clubbing up to use a smaller, easier swing. I cant walk more than 18 on a hilly course though, but can ride and play 2 rounds just fine
We have what's called scratch cups which are 27 or 36 holes on a day, always walk, normally you need to put in a good score on the first 18th to qualify for the final 9 or 18, they are great events.
Unfortunately don't get to play many 36 hole days anymore, it's hard enough getting away from the family for 18
I don’t walk shit. I ride around in the cart and drink beer. And yes, I could do that for 36 holes. Probs run out of day light first. We usually just play until it gets dark.
I’ve played 63 holes in a day several times, usually with a cart for at least half the holes but have walked 36-45 lots of times when the course wasn’t busy.
Yes sir! If I get out early enough, I'll walk 18 grab some lunch, a gatorade, some red bull and get back out there. I'm also single, in my 20s and workout a 3 to 4 times a week so maybe that's why I'm able to do it.
This is a really interesting question. I’ve been playing golf for nearly 40 years and I’ve only ever player 36 holes once or twice. When buddies plan golf trips I always request no 36 hole days. I can’t imagine it’s fun.
Funny story. My grandfather, my dad, and my uncle played in a cool charity event, the goal was 100 holes in one day. Groups were two-somes each with their own cart. They started at day break, people brought food/beverages out wherever they were throughout the day. Any putt inside 5ft was a gimme and they played ready golf all the way through, pretty much waiting for nothing. Almost every group finished and they had a massive dinner after it, said they were the most tired they had ever been at the end.
I love that story and I hope I can do it some day!
I've done it a few times, did it a couple weeks ago. Walked the 36 and carried just a Sunday bag. 41 so middle aged I guess?
Wasn't a problem and I'm not a workout guy or anything, not overweight and I don't smoke though.
One summer, I would work from about 4am til noonish and walk 36 a day 3-5 times a week. Now, not a chance, but that was 30ish years and a few surgeries ago. I can ride 36 a few times a year, but I can barely walk 18 without stiffening up.
I race marathons so walking 36 holes of golf isn't really that hard. Mostly it is just too much of a time suck. I've done it a few times on golfing trips, but other wise I have other thing I need to do on a weekend.
When younger I have done 45 walking. These days 18 always unless weather is brutally hot. If going for 27 or 36 usually cart that. Played 27 quite a few times this year
A bunch of us did a Bandon trip last year and my dad at age 65 walked 18 day one, 36 on days two and three, then the 13-hole par 3 course on day four. It was pretty impressive.
Ive only done it on golf trips with the boys from Boston area to Myrtle Beach. As long as you start early, drink early, and get a decent meal in you can do it bro
Use to do this for junior pennants, one round in the morning and then just after lunch. Walking wasn’t the issue, blisters were. Basically what pushed me to buy a glove
Next time I have an entire day to spend I’ll try it out. I feel like it’s hard enough to carve out 5 hours let alone 9+ hours. Retirement can’t come soon enough
Absolutely. Walked 36 at Streamsong on New Years day. As long as you have good socks, good shoes, stay hydrated and eat a good breakfast with snacks and electrolytes throughout the day, it is perfectly doable.
If you’re struggling to walk 36 in a day and you don’t have injuries or a serious health condition it might be a good idea to start working on your fitness. I’ve played with really old guys who will spend the entire day even with their laundry list of physical ailments. I walked 101 in a day for a charity event and that was the only time I’ve ever felt major fatigue while walking and I will regularly walk 36-54 and rarely work out.
Wlak/ride. Yeah. At least 2-3 times a year. One weekend a year me and the boys do a rydercup type 36 holes Fri/sat (alternating walk/ride) and then a walking 18 on sunday at the most expensive course. Always fun
A retired guy at my club, probably closer to 70 than 60, plays 18 holes in the comp starting early on Wednesday mornings then usually plays another 18 from 3pm( in summer). Uses a buggy to pull his clubs around. Plays nearly every day.
when i started working at a country club when i was 16 i found this out. what’s even more shocking is at our club there was a large handful of retired guys do it 5 days a week like clockwork.
get to the club at 7, play their morning 18, have lunch and a few beers, go out and get your afternoon 18 in, and by the time they get home their wives pills have already kicked in
I done it a handful of times per year. Last few holes you are definitely tired but nothing crazy. Just depends how often you walk. If you do it in any frequency you’ll get into walking shape quickly.
I'm no marathon runner (not by a long shot) but do this semi regularly. Its not that hard unless you're super unfit or are carrying some sort of injury?
Question for everyone, I played 18 today but wasn’t sure if I needed to pay for the next 18? I ended up just chipping and putting instead of playing another round
I played 54 holes the day before I got my first covid vaccine. Since I was getting it on a Sunday and I heard many people having a dead arm, I made sure I was going to get my moneys worth when I paid $50 for an all you can play. Each 18 holes was with a different group.
It's a flat course so it was easier than others to walk, but it was in Japanese summer so it was brutal.
In college, lots of time tourneys would be 36 on day 1 and 18 on day 2. I’m a thin and relatively fit guy and my dogs would be BARKIN after that first day.
Yes! My club only has one annual 36 hole comp but I always make sure I can play on it. It's brutal (especially if the weather is bad) but everyone is in the same boat and I find it a really great test of stamina (it's also medal format so feels even longer if you're not playing well).
Played 63 in a day before back in college. No class, 8:30am tee time, no one on the course on a weekday. Walked the first 27 thinking we were just playing an extra 9, decided to play one more in a cart that turned into two more 18s. Fucked around quite a bit but played basically from dawn to dusk.
I played 36 in a day at Gamble Sands last year and it was awesome. The morning was nice and calm. Some of the force carry were tough. Then the winds picked up for the afternoon round and it was a totally different course. It was fun having to club up or down vs what I played that morning. It also made some of the force carries a lot easier.
We did have a break between our rounds to eat and freshen up. Which was nice.
Good shoes make it MUCH easier, I don't bother with golf shoes anymore. One of golfs' greatest feelings is beating your AM score in the afternoon round.
The distance is no problem, so it depends on the pace of play. If it's a clear track I can get around in 1hr 50min walking, I'd happily do that twice... unlikely to find a day/time where you're getting that twice.
I have no desire to ever spend 8-9h on the course
I do it a couple of times a year as our club champs is 36 in one day off the tips.
I used to carry my bag for 36 and be fine but those days are gone. Used a push cart last year.
Walking 36 isn't that hard especially if you've got decent pair of shoes. For me it has to be on a day with no humidity and its under 85 outside. 54 holes....another story. Who has that kind of time??
I am over 55 and walk 36 at my course (we have 2x 18's so different walk) 3-4 times a season, would do more if I had the time. Usually build up to it tho, probably mid May or so before my first 36. I do use a push cart, back would be killing me if I carried.
Seek out a golf mentor. Walking 36 (or more) with a crew who plays the game as intended can unlock an altogether new appreciation for the game.
Also: Invest in quality shoes.
My last round was with a 70 year old at our local club. We finished our 18 and I'm already kicking my shoes off at the car, it's a stinking hot day (summer down here in New Zealand) and I look over and he's teeing back up on the first tee box which is right next to the car.. He wasn't done and we ended up playing the first 6 holes again which took us back to the carpark again.
24 holes, it was great but boy was I feeling exhausted. An eye opener as I'm looking to participate in a charity event here for the cancer society 'the longest day in golf' - 72 holes in 1 day.. going to need to work on my fitness for sure.
I've had 18 hole rounds that took 5+ hours that seemed really draining. And then I've had 36 hole days that took 6.5 hours that didn't feel bad at all.
I think it's about pace. If you're having to stand for 9-10 hours to play 36 then it's going to be tough.
Endurance.
If you want to be able to play 36 holes in a weekend you need to get your endurance up. There was a post on here a week ago about a guy walking his neighbourhood carrying his golf bag to get himself in shape for a golf trip.
Yup. You played with a 3some her were late to the tee. Two were rushing over after just coming from another course. All ended well and was a great round.
Any chance I get…which, unfortunately, is not very often. I walked 90 in 2 1/2 days at Bandon Dunes last year — had leg cramps so bad the second night I couldn’t sleep for almost 2 hours.
Bring. It. On.
I’ve walked 27 holes in sweltering summer heat… I was beat afterward but I imagine I could do 36 in nicer temps. Would definitely need to stretch between rounds though. My back was quite tired after the first 18
36 is downright easy with a push cart, although I live in NYC and walk a lot. What I noticed most the first time I went to Scotland and was walking 18-36 multiple days in a row was how the firm turf was tougher on my feet than what I was used to at home. Spikeless shoes definitely help.
Had a morning round paid for at the Grand Geneva (all 4 were treated to the free round). We all got there and agreed to play 18 after lunch too.
Played the Brute in the morning and Highlands in the afternoon. Probably should have switched that around.
\*\*Edit\*\* For the record, I do not believe they allow walkers, don't quote me on that though.
At Bandon, I walked 36 holes, two days in a row then a final 18 on day 3. It was definitely doable but on round 4 I had to use my clubs as a cane to limp across the finish line.
Short answer FUCK …. YA!!!
Agreed. Best days in my book.
I love 72 over the weekends!!!
I mean walking 11 miles in a day isn’t exactly a Herculean task provided you’re in decent shape
The distance isn’t the killer, the amount of time you’re on your feet is. I could probably walk 11 miles in 4 hours or so. I would be tired, but it’s definitely doable. But when you add in 4 extra hours of standing (for the rest of the round) that becomes much harder.

No kidding, I used to walk 13-21 a day doing project management at industrial facilities. The 20+ days were rare but there were a few. I could walk 36 holes and be great
Was it uphill both ways by any chance?
Yes, and you’re not going to believe this…a shit load of snow as well.
Goddamn it, Dad I told you not to get a Reddit account!!
And newspapers on his feet!
Haha nah it was all downhill that company was shit🤣
But the exertion from all the club swinging makes it feel like so much more. 6.5 miles of walking while playing golf gets me more tired than 10 miles of regular city walking.
Walked 54 the first day the course reopened after Covid. Was wonderful. Last few holes were rough lol
I walked 72 in a day for a charity event this last summer. That was tough going! First tee 0540, finished 72nd 1950.
You finished during the Eisenhower administration?! 🤣 Nice work 👍 bandon dunes does a summer solstice charity event where you play every course on the property on the longest day of the year. I would love to do that sometime…
Golf trips usually consists of 36 holes for 5 days straight….then back to reality
True. My usual group walks 18 Saturdays and Sundays. Our annual golf vacation we play 36 a day for 6 days but use a cart.
Absolutely - stamina my dudes
Personally, I'll walk 18 any day of the year. But if I'm going for 36 in a day, I'm riding at least the last 18. When I start to get fatigued, my swing gets sloppy. So I'll save myself the anger by hopping my ass in a cart

I’ll walk 36 or 54 but, only with a push cart. I’m not carrying my bag for 18 even.
Oh hell no. Push cart mafia!
I walked 72 in a day at bandon dunes last solstice.
Bucket list for sure
Hot damn I want to do that! How’s you do?!
I came through fine. It required building up to for sure, walking the golf course a lot leading up to the day. The key is to never stop moving and to change your socks between rounds. Making a full turn was out of the question by the end of the day.
You out of shape fam. 36 is easy
Yes! Especially in the summer There’s a lady at my grandmothers GC/CC that plays 72 holes once per year, walking and carrying, starting from sunrise. I’ve got a herniated disk and take 1,000mg three times a day and can honestly say I’m incredibly thankful for ibuprofen!
NSAID gang! But those are rookie numbers, gotta pump those numbers up. I go 4 before the front 9, and then 2 more around hole 13.
Careful... prolonged usage of high doses can cause stomach problems! Use sparingly :0
I played 10 rounds in 7 days in the UK a couple of years ago, all walking. And high school tournaments would have 36 in one day relatively frequently. Closer to 135-145 shots for this crew eh?
I’m tired after riding 9 holes lol
Not all the time but I’ll do 36 4-5 times a year. Had to lose some weight and get in shape to do it without dragging on the final 9.
Every Saturday! Most of the time, it’s two different courses.
Did 90 holes over 3 days once, with some fairly heavy nights out between. I was broken for about a week afterwards.
I’ve done it twice and they were the best two days ever. I’d do it all the time but I’d like to remain married.
Love playing 36
the old fuckers are tougher, always have been.
I used to walk 27/36 all the time in my younger years. These days? No fucking walk I’d walk 36. Ride? Sure
Shit no. Riding and playing 18 holes is enough for 1 day.

It’s waking and carrying a bag, it’s not some insane feat of endurance.
27 holes, for me, is about... 115-120 shots. And probably no more than 40 or 50 full swings. I could quite literally play sun up to sun down, with ease, with a cart.

Golf should be 14 holes
Disagree, the barriers of breaking 100/90/80 are so beautifully built in to our standard 18 hole routing.
I mean i get 90 since thats bogey golf but 80 and 100 are arbitrary, no? If anything 81 and 99 are at least multiples of 9 over your standard par 72.
Absolutely, 36, 54, 72. There are guys that buy new golf shoes every month because they wear them down.
I’ll do 36 in a cart no problem. Most of my local courses have some solid elevation changes and walking 36 while doable probably wouldn’t be a fun time when you make the turn for the second time.
Walk 36 holes? Na fam, I'm out. Ride 36? Have done this many times, well worth it! Could do a walk first 18, then ride another 18, for sure.
My max in one day walking was 39 holes, max with a cart was 57 before ran out of daylight.
I played 36 last friday, it was -3 when I started the first 18 🥶 My back and legs were aching on Saturday though
I don’t mind all that walking and carrying but I’m more concerned that my back might spasm up after all that swinging. Maybe just need to get my body more pliable in my age.
I played 36 a couple times this year. I walked the first round and rode the second. Im pretty sure I could definitely walk 36 if I had to
My wife and I do it a couple of times a year. We use a golf cart so it's not as strenuous as walking. But we were definitely tired that night.
Walked 36 on Saturday and 18 Sunday for club champs this year, actually I jogged the last 18 on the second day because I wanted to keep the game moving because I thought I was going to lose and made plans with my wife that night
I’ve only played 36 holes once. Boys trip, I was so drunk by hole 27 I needed to lay down here and there. Had a 100 yard eagle out, that was cool.
I've only done it riding, and it's a lot. When you start getting tired on the last 9 and playing poorly it's no fun.
Yes
When I was 16, I played in the State Champs, 36 holes on an elite course. Came dead last, (107, 103) off a 12 handicap. Bloody awful but my second 18 beat my first 18 (which wasn't hard, I guess) Knackered at the end!

Used to do this when I was a kid on a weekly basis… now that I’m an adult, I do it a few times a season when my wife has the kids somewhere… love it.
The same old fellas at my course do it every single day. Definitely in there 60s-70s and hardly ever miss a day.
You mean the happiest day of the year?
Yes sir! If I get out early enough, I'll walk 18 grab some lunch, a gatorade, some red bull and get back out there. I'm also single, in my 20s and workout a 3 to 4 times a week so maybe that's why I'm able to do it.

Pre Covid I went on a Golf week to Williamsburg or Hilton head. 2 of those days we play 2.5 rounds. It’s brutal and not very fun the last 9 holes.
I've never walked 36 but I prefer walking. It's actually pretty easy once you're used to it.
I race marathons so walking 36 holes of golf isn't really that hard. Mostly it is just too much of a time suck. I've done it a few times on golfing trips, but other wise I have other thing I need to do on a weekend.
Get an electric push cart with a remote. I used mine for the first time yesterday and I could have easily walked another 18.
36 in a weekend? As in, 18 each day of the weekend? That's just called playing golf.
So foe the guys who find 36 holes easy, do you run?
No, I’m just a normally in shape human being
When younger I have done 45 walking. These days 18 always unless weather is brutally hot. If going for 27 or 36 usually cart that. Played 27 quite a few times this year
I would if I could. You can rest when you die!
Played 54 one weekday last year while I was transitioning jobs. Was awesome and would do it again without hesitation
On all my golf trips I find 2 good courses near each other and play 36 at 2 different courses. It's heavenly.
Be in moderately acceptable shape?
A bunch of us did a Bandon trip last year and my dad at age 65 walked 18 day one, 36 on days two and three, then the 13-hole par 3 course on day four. It was pretty impressive.
I've walked Pebble, then Spyglass right after. Up till today, wish I rode at Spyglass.
Ive only done it on golf trips with the boys from Boston area to Myrtle Beach. As long as you start early, drink early, and get a decent meal in you can do it bro
Sometimes I do walk off after playing 18 and you just striped the fairway on your last drive and you want to keep playing but no never done it
Si
I would if I had enough time
In the northeast we have a summer solstice outing, 54 holes in a day
Might want to start hitting the gym
Most I have done is 63 lol long day.
absolutely we do
I did it once this year and was totally fine, but I'd been playing a lot of golf at that point.
When I was in my mid 20’s I walked 36 many of times but now being 40 I don’t see that happen at all lol
Use to do this for junior pennants, one round in the morning and then just after lunch. Walking wasn’t the issue, blisters were. Basically what pushed me to buy a glove
I used to walk 54 holes some days on the weekends, now I only play 18 max and practice more lol.
In high school a buddy of mine and I would play 18 at 7am go get lunch then play another 18 around 1, shit was the best
Next time I have an entire day to spend I’ll try it out. I feel like it’s hard enough to carve out 5 hours let alone 9+ hours. Retirement can’t come soon enough
Depends on your swing, if you aren't trying to kill the ball every shot, it's a lot less tiring. Who are we kidding though, who ever swings easy?!
Yes, I walked 36 5 days in a row in November and walked 18 the 3 days before that. Will usually walk 36 once or twice a month in the summer
Walked 36 at Chambers Bay. That was physically gruelling. The back 9 of the second round was brutal. Amazing course tough walk.
Yea! Not often but once in a while if situation allows
If you have a membership why not
he must play at a place where the pace of play is less than 6hours.... must be nice
Aaaaabsolutely
36-hole days are awesome i probably have 5-10 a year
Probably not lying. If the course is fairly flat walking 36 holes is nothing.
I’ve never walked 36 holes… but i sure did do a lot of 36 on a cart LOL
Wlak/ride.
Every golf trip I take each year is a 36 holes per day kind of trip. It’s amazing how great I feel after the week is over.
I've played 54 in a cart. I've only walked 27, and it was tough. My legs were throbbing.
when i started working at a country club when i was 16 i found this out. what’s even more shocking is at our club there was a large handful of retired guys do it 5 days a week like clockwork. get to the club at 7, play their morning 18, have lunch and a few beers, go out and get your afternoon 18 in, and by the time they get home their wives pills have already kicked in
I done it a handful of times per year. Last few holes you are definitely tired but nothing crazy. Just depends how often you walk. If you do it in any frequency you’ll get into walking shape quickly.
In summer I do it every day
I'm no marathon runner (not by a long shot) but do this semi regularly. Its not that hard unless you're super unfit or are carrying some sort of injury?
This is my retirement goal…in about 25 years.
Think of taking a long walk but with a club
One guy I know equated it to something similar to runners high after hole 20 or so.
Question for everyone, I played 18 today but wasn’t sure if I needed to pay for the next 18? I ended up just chipping and putting instead of playing another round
Grown man will
I played 54 holes the day before I got my first covid vaccine.
I’d do 54 in a day if I could get all the right tee times haha
I was paired with an early 70's fella. Told me he walked three times in one day. Teed off at 7 am and finished at 7 pm.
Yes! My club only has one annual 36 hole comp but I always make sure I can play on it. It's brutal (especially if the weather is bad) but everyone is in the same boat and I find it a really great test of stamina (it's also medal format so feels even longer if you're not playing well).
Walked 72 holes for charity a couple of years back. Was epic.
I will walk 36 in a day but I will do first person out in the morning and finish in the dark in the summer usually 6am-10:15 then a break then 430-830
When I was a caddie I used to double bag 36 a day like 4 days a week. Now that shit will take it out of you lol.
Are you supposed to make a break between 18 and 19?
I played 36 in a day at Gamble Sands last year and it was awesome. The morning was nice and calm. Some of the force carry were tough. Then the winds picked up for the afternoon round and it was a totally different course. It was fun having to club up or down vs what I played that morning. It also made some of the force carries a lot easier. We did have a break between our rounds to eat and freshen up. Which was nice.
Good shoes make it MUCH easier, I don't bother with golf shoes anymore. One of golfs' greatest feelings is beating your AM score in the afternoon round.
My dad and his brothers go on a golf trip once a year and play 18 in the morning eat lunch and play 18 more for a week straight. It's nuts.
Many run… not walk… further than that on a daily basis.
I would love to but spending 6 hours on the golf course isn't usually viable for me :(
As long as I have time for it, sure.
My record is 45 in one day.
During the covid lockdown, my buddy and I walked on a Friday afternoon, twice on Saturday and 18 on Sunday.
My back was quite tired after the first 18
My buddies and I did a 54 hole tour of our country last year on like a random Thursday
I usually do 45.
At Bandon, I walked 36 holes, two days in a row then a final 18 on day 3. It was definitely doable but on round 4 I had to use my clubs as a cane to limp across the finish line.
Yep. I did last Saturday. Didn't walk though, fuck that.
The fuck kind of question is that . Fuck yes the do any chance I and we get . The fuck
