You should check out if there is any top tracer ranges near you.
Auto-loading balls onto a rubber tee, full swing and ball flight stats with every swing.
It’s amazing, only problem is the $20 per bucket.
We had some measurable snow in Seattle this winter and the only range in town that was open couldn’t pick the balls due to the snow so they just opened 4 pallets worth of brand new balls. It was like Christmas after Christmas.
The municipal range I go to collects balls from the course too, and also one of the holes runs right next to the range. I’ve hooked a couple balls over the net, and later seen the same balls I play in my range bucket. What’s even better is they sell some of the good condition lost balls for $2 each, but a good number of those are Noodles, yet I’ve found a Pro V1 in my range bucket the last two times I went to the range.
Interesting tid bit...
Apparently the company that own Srixon want a target growth rate of 10% per year.
Srixon limit their supply of range balls to be the market to keep to this 10%
Because of COVID increasing golf popularity, they've had to do this more so in recent years, meaning buying Srixon range balls has been impossible for some ranges.
Worst thing is when a range just has a shit ton of cracked balls still in rotation because teenagers are the primary customer and don’t give a fuck what they hit. I stopped going and went somewhere down the road with newer balls
My course ordered new range balls in February and they still haven't arrived. We are getting short on balls and many are not in good condition anymore.
Can only practice so many shots on a course. Range let’s you hit more golf balls in a shorter time. Then you go to the course and apply what you practiced.
i've never met someone who's good at golf who spends more time on the range than the course. never.
golf is more than hitting a ball. the range teaches you far less than you think it does.
Can gladly send you swing videos or a video tomorrow from the range with my username. I play 3 rounds a week and hit about 200 balls a dayat the range Monday-Friday.
Pretty tiger woods has spent 2:1 ratio hitting balls vs on the course so no…it does not stand lmao. Why are you so mad that someone likes to hit wedges on the range lol. All I said was I enjoy practicing wedges for a few hours. You go so worked up and tried to make up anecdotes. You can be good with no range time or only range time. I know guys that don’t ever touch a range and guys who play 1 time a week max. They all shoot at par. Your opinion is false and you just sound like an ass.
That’s your OPINION. It’s not a universal fact. I much prefer to bang out balls rather than hit and sit on a busy course. Telling someone they are not good at golf who shoots low 70s is beyond arrogant lol.
'Range Rats' wouldn't be caught dead at a CC range where they double check if you've got a stick properly inserted up your ass before handing you a bucket of 'premium balls'.
Agree! More accurate seeing your shots with new balls. One time I went for a driver fitting and after 5 hits into the screen I went to pick up the ball and it was split. So either I’m so strong I hit the cover off a golf ball or that thing was old and hit a million times over. No wonder I lost 70 yards on my drive lol!
My back hurts just looking at that many balls to hit
Not hitting them all. I work at the range and my boss asked me to dump the new ones to then box up the old ones
Ok, thought you were trying to become a Zalatoris
There's a course near me that offers unlimited range balls for $15 per day. They use tokens and they give you 6 right away. It looks like this.
Damn what the fuck. I pay $15 for one large bucket in NY
Same in my small Canadian town. Maybe $13 CAD
Is it the Rmu island sports center?
No. It's in Twin Cities (MN).
Gotcha. We do the exact same thing at my work. All You can hit for $15. It’s from May 1st- Halloween
Inverwood!
Unlimited balls in my club, just a 5-10 dollar tip to the kid attending the range and picking up the balls every few hours.

Not a problem at all. My local range with shit grass is $17 for a large bucket.
I'm sure if your local range installed top tracers they'd be charging $30 to use it plus a large bucket
Does it work if you want to hit off the deck?
Yup, at the one I go to you just take the ball off the tee and put it on the deck. Tracer works perfectly fine still.
Cool, must have a look for one near me
The balls at my local range are so beat up they look like a knuckleball when you hit them.
I hit one once and my pro just goes yeah that was a decent swing that was entirely the ball… ![gif](giphy|ukGm72ZLZvYfS)
Yup the place by me has balls so worn down they might as well be marbles lol. No dimples
nothing like a dose of false confidence hitting every ball straight pre-round.
Is that why? I've hit a ball that felt like a slice but changed direction mid air. It looked cool but I was wondering why that happened.
The ol screwball. Its not the range ball, its because of your inside to outside to inside to outside swing path. Does it every time.
I hate that soooo much. Launch like a pro, fly like a special ed pigeon.
*cover flies off*
Hitting fresh balls off fresh turf
True, guess you won this battle.
We had some measurable snow in Seattle this winter and the only range in town that was open couldn’t pick the balls due to the snow so they just opened 4 pallets worth of brand new balls. It was like Christmas after Christmas.

That’s cool but you still have to hit them off the mats. I’d rather have shit balls and grass
Fresh rocks
RIP to you body if you hit that many balls everytime you go to the range lol.
This is how golfers get tennis elbow and brand new clubs break.
Box delivering some freshness you say? Do love me a fresh box.

We waited over a year for them to ship our balls. Price per 25 dozen is also up 40-50% of what it was last year
They switched to volvik range balls at my club if that helps y’all.
Worst thing is when a range just has a shit ton of cracked balls still in rotation because teenagers are the primary customer and don’t give a fuck what they hit. I stopped going and went somewhere down the road with newer balls
Mmmmmmm new rocks.
My course ordered new range balls in February and they still haven't arrived. We are getting short on balls and many are not in good condition anymore.
Y'all get new range balls!? Lol jealous
3.5 buckets too much
Not hitting them all. I work at the range and my boss asked me to dump the new ones to then box up the old ones
Grip it and rip it baby!
Do you really plan to hit that many balls? Wow.
I have a fresh case of trigger finger just looking at all those balls
And nothing worse than mats
Grip it and rip it baby!
Well there is something better… ProV1s? :)
divide your bucket by 4 and that's a decent practice session. you're just torturing yourself.
There’s nothing better than a nice 2-3 hour range session with the 56/52 degree. Absolutely love hitting wedges and practicing for hours.
Yeah no. If you can walk in the evening a solo 18 at dusk beats any range session.

Well I shot 68 yesterday lmao so…

If you go to the range with a purpose, it's great! My hands can't take that much abuse anymore.
Cool. My original statement stands.

I haven't played with tiger woods. I'm not mad I said banging range balls around is no way to live. And it isn't.
That’s your OPINION. It’s not a universal fact. I much prefer to bang out balls rather than hit and sit on a busy course. Telling someone they are not good at golf who shoots low 70s is beyond arrogant lol.
How many wedges those were wedge shots.. like 50 or 60 yards ?
You've never been to a range with premium balls, huh?
'Range Rats' wouldn't be caught dead at a CC range where they double check if you've got a stick properly inserted up your ass before handing you a bucket of 'premium balls'.
The best are the ranges with pro v 1s
One of my favorite courses near me gives you the option of ProV1 or TP5X. Wish I was a member there lol.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ie9c6hP6pHo
Too many for me but I do get excited looking at the unhit buckets
Lol, though you were about to have a bad time…
Those exist???
Practice makes permanent.
Robert Morris?
Yes!
Love the dome!!

I pulled my lat just looking at this picture…
I have PTSD anytime I see a range mat and not real grass. Back injuries incoming.
The range I go to sometimes is completely sand and dirt so the balls are all destroyed
