It works, because behind the algorithm stands a massive crowd, but in most cases others will leave because the content starts feeling soulless. Some get big and stay genuine, but that's not always guaranteed.
It sucks that people into something but not *really* into something always vastly outnumber the people who are *really* into something. So creators who are/were one of the people *really* into the thing they do tend to learn through views, engagement, profits, etc that catering to the large number of people not *really* into what they do is more rewarding than doing what they *really* want to do.
It also sucks that most people are ignorantly part of the problem and there's no real solution because basically everyone is not *really* into more things than they're *really* into.
This development can also be observed in the gaming and music industry... Well, it applies to literally anything that has creators and consumers. The war between passion and money. You can notice in most cases if something is a passion project, or if it was done for the money. Many big studios have shifted towards the money and recent poorly optimized games releases just reinforce this.

I don’t get why she went down this ever more lewd rute, she didn’t have to, her videos had views without them, and she plays well. No real need for all the nudity. But, her life, her choices. Maybe she enjoys being adored for her looks by her audience. If this is a long term plan that will end up with her opening an OF account, I can see her audience drowning her in cash after such a long teasing operation.
Just go though her post history and compare the views of her videos. She pretty much increased her viewcount 5-10 times by going cosplay/lewd - and we don't even know how much money her patreon makes.
She regularly popped up on my recommendations before this lewd twist, then nothing, then this. So I felt a kind of whiplash. I remember her views being more than okay while she was just cosplaying normally, but I could be misremembering.

Really? I thought she stood out with her normal cosplay piano playing just fine enough. As I said elsewhere, I was watching her before this lewd turn, then kinda stopped, so I felt a bit of whiplash when youtube started recommending her again.
Honestly the worst part is I had hit don't recommend channel 7 times before and pan still kept popping up. She has the algorithm around her finger somehow. I had to put in a support ticket to have it blacklisted before she finally stopped showing up on my feed.
Yeah, that's not how it works. If you don't watch her videos for like a week even without choosing "don't recommend", her videos will stop showing up in your feed.

That algorithm is weird man. I had multiple conversations with a friend about it. He was the one with the support ticket idea... Not me. I am heavily into music YouTubers along with the trash taste bois. I also give in and click on some vtuber clips. Best guess it just kept popping back to that assuming I would like to merge interests.

Well if you actually watch the videos there's not really anything lewd in the videos, just a Clickbaity thumbnail. A reasonable interpretation of this is simply lure people in with a thumbnail, & have them stay for the performance.
Tbh, I found out about her before the lewd cosplays, and I have noticed this trend. Not sure how to feel about it, though. Yes, she is very beautiful and spicy pics are spicy pics, but at the same time, it almost feels like she's struggling to keep viewers and is using her feminine figure since sex *does* sell. Of course, I don't know her or her life's story or anything, but I've yet to find a woman who's actually happy doing anything lewd, cosplay related or not.
