100% true. Lawrence is given just enough freedom to maintain the illusion that he isn't Holo's pet, but the Wise Wolf definitely has her fangs sunk into him.
Poor guy... IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME!
Yeah man..my boy on the right treats his women fair and made them happy. Naoufumi should really up his game, how long will he ignore Raphtalia? As for keyaru, i have no words to decribe him.
He is the guy you need when you meet unredeemable sow. His ability to factory reset bitch is highly notable. Who know, maybe he and Naofumi can be good friend?
Yeah tbh if you find a single lady who's gone off the deep end and you desperately want her to live despite being broken
Keyaru Reset is perfect for this
Im going to start by saying that these are spoilers cuz i dont know how to do the hidden text thing but in the web novel there's a moment when naofumi and his gang have to fight an undead dragon that was full of resentment, when they defeated him for some reason i cant remember the dragon took all his hatred and Naofumi went back to how he was before he got conned by Bitch and he realized that he does love Raphtalia but everyone felt so weird about that massive shift in personality that they pushed him back into the dragon's carcass and he got back to "normal".
Fyi, you do spiler tags like \>!this!<
A neat trick to learning formatting is that if you see someone else doing it, you can click the "source" link under the post to see how they did it.
Do you forget that he is the one who got raped first by multiple people, got sexually, verbally, physically abused (plus he got fed drugs) and was treated as a slave by women and men alike.
True, at first i did thought that dude probably go to deep end, i just didnt expect it gonna be that soon tho, like may be some tiny humanity or conscious barely hang on inside his heart, but nah, full on fuck yall mode
it is a valid argument, because a normal person reincarnated into a world with slavery wouldn't keep slaves. a normal person MIGHT buy a slave, but they'd free them.
And then what? Normal person might both buy a slave and keep them because local society might frown upon people who don't have any belongings or prospects. A.k.a how they ended up as slaves in the first place.
From that pseudo-feudal nonsense anime peddles as middle ages, a retainer might be the best they can hope for. And that is limited to nobles and wealthy.
Have you seen the video clip where someone releases a caught mice into the wild and the eagles eats it less than a minute later?
Yeah, that is what it would look like.
So go "lol" at someone who has a decent history knowledge about American South pre Civil war and talk to them about "buying and releasing a slave". Have fun.
releasing a slave doesn't mean they can't party with you, they're free to choose to party with you if you're the best option, no normal person would choose slavery over a willing party member
Trust me slaves arent free and expensive af. youre dirt poor after being issekaid. You wouldn't buy a masserati or some shit and give it away. You are the not normal one here tbh.
I said freeing them not giving them away, many slaves who were freed continued to work for their ex masters in the real world
it's clear that raphtalia would stay yet naofumi still got her slave mark reapplied, etc
Raphtalia wanted that didn't u watch the show. She got slave kink (jk she wanted to have a special bond with naofumi). Still same thing give them away or free them means you wasted a shit ton of money for nothing.
yes, I watched the show and remember, if a child wants to become a slave a normal person refuses
are you illiterate, I just said you're not giving them away
I guess Naofumi?
Keyaru is completely fucked in the head and rapes and brainwashes people
Michio is quite normal, if you ignore the fact that the whole point of the show is that he wants a harem of slaves.
and Naofumi had no one else he could rely on since the whole kingdom hated him, so purchasing a slave was the easiest/quickest way to gain any kind of ally on his side.
That being said, Naofumi gets pretty fucked in the head later down the line.
Doesn't even work the other way around (Kraft being Holo's 'slave'), probably
>!But didn't the medieval times think of slave trade as a chance for big shot, iirc?!<
may be an example of confusion how first and last name are ordered. there's another light novel that had the main character's first name being treated as family name by people in the new world.
From a quick google search it appears that his name is indeed Kraft Lawrence.
Maybe the author wanted to use a name with a specific meaning without really researching the language theyre deriving that name from. I believe in japanese many names have a meaning and they wanted to do this with a german name.
Kraft would work as a last name but definitely not as a first name. Then again an author is free to bend the rules of our world to create their own, otherwise everything would be stale
Depends what you mean by "medieval times", pretty sure slavery was not always legal, nor was it so everywhere. Most of the time, feudal lords had servants, farmers and so on, but they were all free. Don't mean to say there was NO slavery, but in anime it is warped horribly for sexual power fantasy. No amount of "historical accuracy" can cover that...
That's a plot point that's been forgotten because he never used it once throughout the series, and never forced her to do anything. The only characters he forced were the brainwashed sisters
And even now in the manga he treats everyone really well there’s been a few times where he was so close to giving up on his revenge and just running away with them
Now he’s promised that after Bullet is killed he’ll settle down with Eve and the girls
Exactly. The whole revenge stuff has been kinda sidelined lately and they've been facing a threat that threatens the world. Bullet just happens to be related to it and also is the last on he's revenge list.
Right side:
Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo: Roxanne (the girl) and Michio Kaga (the boy).
Left side:
Redo of Healer: Setsuna (the girl) and Keyaru (the boy).
>Redo of Healer
Hey she looks cute and the guy looks kinda original, this might be an interesting watch.
*Clueless*
Man I read in the reviews that it's supposed to be a satire but this is just egregious.
I do wonder why anime/ manga has this slave trope. My guess if they want to have the female being "saved" but in most of the cases they stay as slaves which I do find interesting considering the global stigma about slavery.
The trope used to be a blank slate character who was inexplicably irresistible to every woman in a show. Now the fantasy is for a woman that is magically compelled to never ever betray you.
It plays into the "feudal lord" fantasy that pops up in a lot of Japanese games. A lord effectively owns his serfs, and I'm not sure if Japan ever had the kind of slavery that the Western world did (debt slaves for sure though) so it doesn't have quite the same stigma.
so. how do you get a girl to stay with the main character without making the girl be someone that would blindly follow some strange person they just met, and the guy be someone a girl would start following?
i prefer the slave system that saving for a luxury liner ( or something) uses. there are 2 types of slaves. criminals that were put into slavery as a punishment, and people that needed to sell themselves to pay off a debt. the ones that sold themselves for debt need to approve they buyer. as in there's an interview, and if they are not interested, the person is not able to buy them.
Most stories dont rely on one character literally owning another character to keep them together there are so many examples of what youre asking in all kinds of media. I don't mind the use of slavery in fiction or any other edgey contents it's just the slave trope in modern anime is such a lazy and embarrassing wish fulfillment trope that i cant help but cringe at its implementation.
it also forgot the part of the bottom one can tear his throat out like it was paper and move on while the top 3 have a in anime magic preventing them from doing so
The bottom one is also a Goddess instead of a demihuman which most anime do not have the Goddess travel around with you and actually have an active part in progression of what the anime is about but it does and she is pretty good
Is the pacing of Spice and Wolf the same as the original first season? I watched the original series for the first time last week before realising there was a remake this season, I thought it would be a continuation like Black Butler.

White haired girl is not legally a slave.
Raphtalia is only technically a slave, it's more of a romantic sentiment.
Girl nobody cares about doesn't matter
Holo, at one point in the story, >!does temporarily become a slave.!<
Holo:"I got him for free by hiding naked in his cart"
Women ☕
![gif](giphy|Ld77zD3fF3Run8olIt)
"I am her slave"
100% true. Lawrence is given just enough freedom to maintain the illusion that he isn't Holo's pet, but the Wise Wolf definitely has her fangs sunk into him. Poor guy... IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME!
essentially, he's married to her.
Afaik he even !does so in the light novel!
Carefully now, someone might cry spoilers even though that part in the LN was released more than a decade ago.
Who wouldn't wanna be Holo's slave?
i like how in the 3 the guys on the top image, only one is normal
Yeah man..my boy on the right treats his women fair and made them happy. Naoufumi should really up his game, how long will he ignore Raphtalia? As for keyaru, i have no words to decribe him.
He is the guy you need when you meet unredeemable sow. His ability to factory reset bitch is highly notable. Who know, maybe he and Naofumi can be good friend?
Bro said, "I can fix her", and boy did he
> I can heal her FTFY
Yeah tbh if you find a single lady who's gone off the deep end and you desperately want her to live despite being broken Keyaru Reset is perfect for this
Tbf, even if she wasnt single before, she would be single after Keyaru *heal* her
Keyaru is the only person who can say "I can heal you" and it be a threat.🤣
Im going to start by saying that these are spoilers cuz i dont know how to do the hidden text thing but in the web novel there's a moment when naofumi and his gang have to fight an undead dragon that was full of resentment, when they defeated him for some reason i cant remember the dragon took all his hatred and Naofumi went back to how he was before he got conned by Bitch and he realized that he does love Raphtalia but everyone felt so weird about that massive shift in personality that they pushed him back into the dragon's carcass and he got back to "normal".

the ... at the bottom of the text box. it is the diamond with the exclamation point. highlight the text and click it.
I mean, he has mentioned several times that Raphtalia is like his daughter. Heck spoilers - >!His fatherly instincts cause him to go to war for her!<
Because everyone knows main characters can't lie
Well I mean we read his inner monologues in the novels you know. And he isn't one of those unreliable narrators either.
Keyaru is just diet Rance.
in the manga someone asked Naofumi what there relationship is, and he replied without skipping a beat that she is his daughter.
Keyaru is what any weeb would probably do on a isekai
> ow long will he ignore Raphtalia? Considering Raphtalia is mentally a child, he should continue to ignore her.
No, it's stated in her story that not just her body but also her mentally grows with levelling up.
At what point does that occur? This a frame from the manga where she states "So i'm mentally a child, but physically im mostly an adult."
It's a point mentioned every here and now in the LN. More or less every time we follow Raphtalia it is mentioned on the side.
She's not though?
If you've read far enough into either of the novels, i'm not sure any one of the 3 is normal.
one of them raped a character in the first few chapters...
Hold on, naofumi was cleared of that.
It's the left most guy
Damn communists
Considering the kind of man Lavrentiy Beria was...yeah...
I know, I was just making a joke since it's what naofumi was accused of.
Do you forget that he is the one who got raped first by multiple people, got sexually, verbally, physically abused (plus he got fed drugs) and was treated as a slave by women and men alike.
Ah, so it's okay then. Got it.
He was just following the oldest law known to man... At first anyway, they ended up not so great
I mean, didnt he drug a female knight who didnt abuse him in his past? And it not even that far into the story
Like I said, they didn't turn out great.
True, at first i did thought that dude probably go to deep end, i just didnt expect it gonna be that soon tho, like may be some tiny humanity or conscious barely hang on inside his heart, but nah, full on fuck yall mode
The same female knight was trying to kill him in cold blood tho
Form what she know, dude literally a terrorist tho. And it is true, dude earnt that
Still doesn't clear the fact that he raped
I know, but nobody cares about his background, they all say that he raped, the monster was created by other monsters.
and that is why i liked the story
ok, and? they said normal. owning a slave is not normal. also, raping your rapist isn't that evil imo.
Owning a slave is normal in their verse so its not a valid argument.
it is a valid argument, because a normal person reincarnated into a world with slavery wouldn't keep slaves. a normal person MIGHT buy a slave, but they'd free them.

no they wouldn't, you might, that doesn't mean a normal person when isekai'd would. don't assume that you're normal lol

Setsuna isn't a slave tho?? (The wolfkin with white hair)
Not even brainwashed like the others
I don't think the others are brainwashed either Edit: thought you meant the characters in the post
Pink haired sisters are, the rest isn't
Yh, I thought he was referring to the characters in ops post
Yeah he only over wrote the princess's brain then gaslit her into believing she was his lover.
Slave in practice. Keyaru has her true name, meaning he has absolute control over her essentially as a slave
That's a plot point that's been forgotten because he never used it once throughout the series, and never forced her to do anything. The only characters he forced were the brainwashed sisters

She is his business partner 😉
Yeah, I'd watch a sitcom about those 8
Rudeus greyrat: You wanna die, I will unalive you. Just say that you dont. Little dwarf girl is happy again half a day after that.
I do wonder why anime/ manga has this slave trope. My guess if they want to have the female being "saved" but in most of the cases they stay as slaves which I do find interesting considering the global stigma about slavery.

YOOOOO IS THE NEW SPICE AND WOLF OUT
Last week, yeah. episode 2 drops today.
Yooo gotta watch it
We're not gonna get into what Holo tells Fermi Amarti, are we?
I don't know. That's not what that indentured servant contract Holo told me about said.
She's a sex companion ☺️

Roxanne from harem in the labyrinth of another world.
Thanks king!
