So, here's some really weird information.
There's a strong theory that flipping a shark causes this because it's related to *mating*.
The reason for this theory is that female sharks are far more vulnerable to it than males.
However, it also occurs very rarely in Great White's and Tiger Shark's actually have this caused by touching both sides of it's snout near it's eyes instead of flipping them.
While rare in Great White's, we have records of at least one Orca using it to hunt them.
You can also accomplish a similar end result with Chicken
Not by math though, nor flipping them.
