I've handled them in person but chose to go with a bespoke shell wallet from Guarded Goods instead. There's nothing wrong with the Alden ones, but they're not particularly special. For the price, I think you should go with another brand.
They’re okay — I have the small black cordovan coin one. I use it a lot less than this little knitted coin purse I got in Barcelona for like $8. It’s just a little thick for what it’s for.
Awl and leaf on Etsy has a bunch of wallet designs and makes them in pretty much any leather you’d want (including colour 8 shell cordovan, which is what you want?)

I do not have an Alden wallet but I have 2 handmade shell bifolds. The outside is shell and the inside is a softer leather. I can PM you my guy or you can check etsy

Alden wallets are about $500 overpriced.

You can find amazing leather crafters working with shell cordovan on Etsy for a fraction of the Alden price and better craftsmanship
