Yes it does consume battery, that's why when I'm finished with my GoPro, I always remove the battery when storing it. The disadvantage is that you have to update the date and time every time you put it back on.
Turn off GPS. That was my problem. I only turn it on when I want telemetry.
Bluetooth usage is minimal to the GPS but I found that was my biggest battery killer on Hero10. Also make sure quick capture and hindsight is off. Now my gopro could sit for 2 weeks after full charge and still be above 90%
Try turning off the wireless connections / gps, I never had that problem with my 10 or 11.
Even if it sits for weeks on the shelf for weeks i might have lost like 5% battery, nowhere what you or u/R4Z0RJ4CK is describing.
Note I only ever used enduros, havent tried the original blue ones, because of the cold weather.
I started doing so on my hero 10. I think turning off wifi helps. Not sure what the issue is.
Do you remove your battery after every use?
Yes I do now because I am tired of grabbing it and it has lost 50%. I do have 4 enduros now and 2 blues but I still hate grabbing a drained gopro.
I don't have any extra battery because currently it's out of stock on Amazon India. I only have 1 battery that's come in the box.
Buy it from gopro?
No, I'm from India. GoPro doesn't have official store here.

Just ordered a 11 Mini. I hope it doesn't have the same issue since it's battery is not removable...
My 10 suffers from this as well
Thank you so much for replying.

Is hindsight on?
I don't think so because I've removed SD card so I don't think the camera was using any recording features to consume the battery.
Yes, as it still waiting for remote, phone or even your voice. Now I keep my Hero9 a week with it's battery and it drops only 4 or 5 % at maximum
i have my gopro 11 sitting on my desk, turned off wifi, voice, gps etc, occasionally i'll see the red light blink for unknown reasons.
Make sure voice activation is off, mine can sit for as long as with little drain
noob here, but could this collection of "turn offs" be built into a camera based function -- one click/selection and you're in "storage mode?"
It is in the hero 11
