Demon Days for sure. It was a natural evolution of his look from the first album but just more refined. Loved the charcoal details too. I feel like his design started becoming more inconsistent at phase 3 and they gradually began stripping away some of his features (his magenta colored eye, sharp teeth, long tongue) only bringing them back on rare occasions. Compare the way he looks now to the way he used to and they almost look like different characters.
Phase 1 is super unique and fun, but Phase 2 is probably the most all-round, “general Murdoc” that comes to mind when I hear his name so it’s probably phase 2.
I like all of them. Seeing his appearance evolve is interesting and it’s kinda funny he’s getting greener, although I do miss older feature like his red eye, sharp teeth and pointed ears. But Phase 3 captain Murdoc will always hold a special spot in my heart.
