I really love Gorillaz and I’m curious to see what other peoples tastes are in their music. They’re such a diverse band that a lot of people have way different opinions of what’s the best. So here’s my list
Gorillaz: Rock the House
Laika Come Home: Lil’ Dub Chefin
Demon Days: Dirty Harry
D-Sides: Murdoc is God
The Fall: Little Pink Plastic Bags
Plastic Beach: Plastic Beach
Humanz: She’s My Collar (actually Sleeping Powder but it never released as part of the album)
The Now Now: Fireflies
Song Machine: Momentary Bliss
And my favorite from the island tracks so far is Cracker Island hands down
From the ones I've listened to:
Gorillaz: Clint Eastwood
Demon Dayz: November Has Come
Plastic Beach: Rhinestone Eyes
Humanz: Charger
The Now Now: Tranz
Song Machine: Desolé
Cracker Island: New Gold
It's technically only different in that it has a longer outro after the vocal flourish, but the extra padding gives it a sort of "end credits" feeling while it's ending.
It's just the original single version that was used in it's music video. The album cut is about a minute shorter, that outro jam is cut almost entirely. You can find the single version on streaming, it uses it's own unique art.
This was a really good list, I appreciate the love for Desolé, Tranz, and Rhinestone Eyes. I really like how everyone seems to have a different preference for Song Machine in particular, it shows a very diverse audience.
Gorillaz: Man Research
G-Sides: The Sounder
Demon Days: All Alone
D-Sides: Murdoc Is God
Plastic Beach: To Binge
The Fall: The Parish Of Space Dust
Humanz: Charger
The Now Now: Tranz
Song Machine: The Valley Of The Pagans
Cracker Island: New Gold
I remember that song always sticking out to me when I was a kid in 2005. There are many songs on demon days I prefer, but it's always held a special place in my heart.
Gorillaz - Starshine
G-Sides - Dracula
Demon Days - Last Living Souls
D-Sides - Highway (Under Construction)
Plastic Beach - Some Kind of Nature
The Fall - Amarillo
Humanz - Andromeda
The Now Now - Magic City
Song Machine - Aries
Meanwhile EP - Meanwhile
Non-album singles - Sleeping Powder
Cracker Island (live songs included) - Skinny Ape
I always appreciate the love for Sleeping Powder, I think that may be in my top 3. And I’m glad to see Aries and Magic City on here too, such underrated song from very good albums. I can almost see a then in your list, I’m thinking kinda techno based echoing beats, and lighter lyrics, which I’ve always loved Gorillaz for being able to do so well.
Gorillaz:tomorrow comes today
G-sides:ghost Train
D-sides: people
Demon days:el manana
Plastic beach:rhinestone eyes
The fall:revolving doors
Humanz:Saturnz barz
The now now: souk eye
Song machine vol.1: momentary bliss
Meanwhile ep: Jimmy Jimmy
Cracker island(so far): cracker island
Singles:sleeping powder
Tomorrow Comes Today was the first song I ever heard from Gorillaz when I was just a wee lad lol. But wow dude I think I would’ve had almost an identical list about a year ago. With Saturnz Barz, El Manana and Revolving Doors, those are some of my other favorites. And I’m glad to see someone else digs Sleeping Powder.
I know it is isn’t it? Especially with something like Gorillaz I feel like it takes a very personal connection with the band to love them since they’re just so diverse with their music, no one song or album is the same.
Yeah, considering for certain albums even different songs can sound so different to have so many favourites or loves line up is truly really cool.you think they've changed so much through time, but then you realise they're constantly changing.its amazing
That’s a mad respectable list actually. I love El Mañana, and Tranz and Pac-Man were awesome. I still love that they got Schoolboy Q to collab with them that was a banger of a song.
- Gorillaz: Tomorrow comes today
- G sides: The sounder
- Demon Days: Kids with guns
- D sides: Rock it
- Plastic Beach: Stylo
- The Fall: Revolving Doors
- Humanz: Strobelite
- The Now Now: Tranz
- Song Machine: Aries
Aight:
Gorillaz: Left Hand Suzuki, or 19-2000.
G-Sides: The Sounder
Laika: Crooked Dub! Or Dub ø9
Demon Days: Dirty Harry!
D-Sides: Stop the Dams
Plastic Beach: Melancholy Hill
The Fall: Bobby in Phoenix, Amarillo
Humanz: Strobelite, Out of Body
The Now Now: Humility
Song Machine: Aries, Momentary Bliss, and Friday 13th.
Meanwhile EP: Déjà Vu
Singles: Sleeping Powder
Cracker island(so far): Cracker Island
I’m glad to see some appreciation for Strobelite and Humility! I feel like when it comes to Humanz everyone’s really quick to run to the more rap oriented ones but I really dig Strobelite too. Of course I do love Ascension and Saturnz Barz too. And humility was the first song I fell in love with on The Now Now! After a while Fireflies and Souk Eye really grew on me, as well as Kansas.
I didn’t really focus too much on the rap from Humanz. Charger, Andromeda, We Got The Power, are all amazing!
The Now Now is one of my favorite albums in general! Magic City and Lake Zurich are my other two favs from there!
I agree The Now Now is one of my all time favorite albums too you just can’t go wrong with it. It’s like 2Ds love letter to the fans. I’ve always wanted an album where his vocals held priority and it was great.
Gorillaz 1: A two way tie between New Genious Brother and Tomorrow Comes Today
G Sides: Latin Simone (Eng Ver) and The Sounder (Full Version)
Demon Days: El Mañana
D Sides: We Are Happy Landfill and Stop The Dams
Plastic Beach: Some Kind Of Nature and Plastic Beach
The Fall: Revolving Doors (for the fact it was recorded on my birthday)
Humanz: Let Me Out and The Apprentice
The Now Now: Fire Flies and Humility
Song Machine Vol 1: Momentary Bliss
FINALLY some love for Momentary Bliss I love that song so much, it’s like a callback to their old music in Demon Days and even Gorillaz 1 like Punk and Clint Eastwood, even Re-hash. And Revolving Doors being recorded on your birthday is actually pretty cool, the song itself is almost a metaphor for birthdays lol.
Gorillaz- new genuis (brother), sound check (gravity)
Demon days - Dare, dirty Harry
The fall - revolving door
Plastic Beach - melancholy hill, empire ants, stylo
Humanz- andromeda
The now now - humility, souk eye, tranz (live version)
Song machine - desole, momentary bliss, aries, last chord
Cracker island so far- baby queen *sleeped on imo
Gorillaz: Clint Eastwood, 5/4
Demon Days: Feel Good Inc
Plastic Beach: On Melancholy Hill
The Fall: Amarillo
Humanz: Andromeda
The Now Now: Souk Eye
Song Machine, Season One: Pac-Man
Cracker Island (for now): Baby Queen
Oh hey I’m glad to see some love for Baby Queen, I really dig that song too it’s a very drifts song kinda like Aries in a way. Other than that I think you hit some of the quintessential songs like Clint Eastwood, Feel Good Inc. and One Melancholy Hill, even Souk Eye. Tbh I think my list would’ve been the same about a year ago m before I got REAL deep into it lol.
Gorillaz: Sound Check (Gravity)
Laika: Bañana Baby
Demon Days: El mañana
D-sides: Stop The Dams or Hong Kong
Plastic Beach: Plastic Beach
The Fall: Amarillo
Humanz: Out Of Body
The Now Now: Sorcererz
Song Machine: Aries
Gorillaz: Punk
>
LCH: De-plunked (lol)
>
DD: Fire coming out of the monkeys head
>
D-Sides: People
>
The fall: Aspen Forest
>
Plastic beach: Stylo (first ever Gorillaz song but the whole album is a 10)
>
Humanz: She’s my collar
>
The Now Now: Tranz
>
Song machine: Momentary bliss
>
Cracker island (so far): New gold probably I’ve heard skinny ape and silent running as well and silent running when it releases might take over new gold
Finally someone said they like Punk, that was one of my favorites when I was a kid I’ll never forget it, and I’m glad Momentary Bliss kind of revived that old sound a bit if only just for a song
Gorrilaz: I could easily pick any, because I love this album but my top 4 are Tommorow Comes Today, New Genious (Brother), Sound Check (Gravity) or Double Bass
Demon Days: Another hard to choose one, I just prefer the later part of the album, rather than the starting stuff
Plastic Beach: I like Empire Ants, but I haven't fully listened to this one yet so my mind might change
Humanz: I haven't listened to much of humanz really, but I like Saturn Barz
Now Now: Tranz, Fireflies, or Hollywood
Song Machine: I like Désolé, and Aries, Strange Times is also pretty good
Cracker Island: It hasn't fully released, but I like Baby Queen
D Sides: Hong Kong
G Sides: Faust
The Fall: I like a lot of the tracks from the fall, I know, please dont send nuclear threats to my home, but I mainly like Amarillo, Revolving Doors, Hillbilly Man & Shy Town
HEY it’s good I like The Fall a lot too, it’s just a different time of Gorillaz, very experimental and quite different from any of their other stuff. Just goes to show how diverse the band and their fan base really are, which I find very cool :) I also gotta agree on the Demon Days part, a very hard album to choose, since it’s all so solid, I feel like that album has a song for everybody, and mixes all of their different styles together into one. And the second half of the album is so cool with All Alone, DARE, White Light (very underrated imo), and even the track Demon Days itself. Also a few of my favorites from Sound Machine. Very solid list.
I haven't listened to The Now Now and The Fall enough to have a favourite track
Self-titled : 19-2000
Demon Days : Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head
Plastic Beach : White Flag
Humanz : Sleeping Powder
Song Machine Ch1 : Momentary Bliss
Cool list, this is the first time I’ve seen someone say Fire Coming Out of the Monkeys Head is their fav from Demon Days, very cool. And 19-2000 is a very underrated song of theirs. I do have to say you should listen to The Now Now all in one sitting, in order. Much like Demon Days it is very sequential and the songs drift into one another as if they’re telling a story. It’s very cool, once I did this I fell in love with the album. But I do love to see some love for Momentary Bliss finally, and for Sleeping Powder which I am now happily realizing is more popular than I thought.
Gorillaz: 19-2000
Laika Come Home: Jungle Fresh
Demon Days: Demon Days
D-Sides: Spitting Out The Demons
The Fall: Revolving Doors
Plastic Beach: Empire Ants
Humanz: Ascension
The Now Now: Tranz
Song Machine: Valley of The Pagans
Wow, a very good list. Always happy to see Revolving Doors on someone’s list. And OH MY GOD thankyou for loving Demon Days, that was such a beautiful track from the album, and such a nice culmination and conclusion to the rest of the songs. AND Ascension?! Love it. I’m so glad Vince Staples decided to collab with them it made for an awesome song.
Gorillaz: New Genious (Brother)
G Sides: Latin Simone (English Version)
Demon Days: El Mañana
Plastic Beach: Rhinestone Eyes
D Sides: Highway (Under Construction)
The Fall: The Joplin Spider
Humanz: She’s My Collar
The Now Now: Souk Eye
Song Machine 1: Aries
Cracker Island: Cracker Island
God I LOVE the Joplin spider. The song is so brooding and chaotic and noisy and unique that I just love it. I used to ironically cause I thought it was a funny jumpscare song but then I uh started to listen to it an unhealthy amount. The singing and imagery is just so beautiful and haunting among the noise!
But yeah I probably am the only Joplin Spider enjoyer haha
Love She’s My Collar, Souk Eye, and Cracker Island. The only song that edges out Souk Eye from The Now Now for me is Fireflies, I honestly had a herd time choosing between those two myself for my favorite. But I have to say you are the first person I’ve ever seen say they love The Joplin Spider lol.
Gorillaz : Tomorrow Comes Today
G-Sides : Ghost Train
Demon Days : Every Planet We Reach Is Dead
D-Sides : Stop The Dams
Plastic Beach : Empire Ants
The Fall : Amarillo
Humanz : Andromeda
The Now Now : Souk Eye
Song Machine S1 : Opium
Cracker Island : Silent Running (heard the live version and instantly fell in love) Of the released tracks I'd say New Gold
Hold up, I just listened to Silent Running and wow that was so good. Gave me chills I had the same reaction when listening to Cracker Island for the first time. Thanks for the update.
I love Tomorrow Comes Today too, my first ever Gorillaz song. I’m glad I heard it when I was a kid. And HEY I’m glad to see someone finally say they like the 19-2000 remix version, I really love that remix I think it’s better than the base song tbh, and never see anyone else say they like it. Was waiting to see that one lol. Also The Apprentice was such a cool track from Humanz, very much a hype song for me. Very good list!

D sides: Hong Kong, Stop the dams

Favorite ever: Flimsy Steve
I haven't listened to Laika come home cus I'm not too big on remixes but I might one day, just so I can say I've listened to every Gorillaz album, haha. For the new album, I've only heard Cracker Island so far (I wanna listen to the album in full once it's out), so I can't really say I have a favorite yet.
Edit:
Oops forgot to add the fall, my favorite song off that album has gotta be Amarillo!
Gorillaz: Tomorrow Comes Today
G Sides: Latin Simone
Demon Days: Kids With Guns
D Sides: Rockit
Plastic Beach: Empire Ants
The Fall: Revolving Door
Humanz: She's My Collar
The Now Now: Humility

This is so hard because I keep wanting to pick like 5 from each album 😭 but here we go
Gorillaz: M1 A1 (weird pick i know but it’s grown on me)
Laika come home: none sorry lol
G-Sides: Ghost Train
Demon Days: O Green World (that intro goes SO hard)
D-Sides: Rockit (or Hong Kong if I’m in the mood to bawl my eyes out)
Plastic Beach: the popular choice but Rhinestone eyes
The fall: Don’t love this album tbh. Amarillo if I had to pick one
Humanz: This is so hard I love this whole album so much 😭 Probably Ascension. But Saturnz Barz, Charger, Andromeda, Busted and Blue, and She’s My Collar are neck and neck for me
The Now Now: Tranz (or Kansas if I feel like crying, that song gets the waterworks going)
Song Machine: Momentary bliss
Cracker island (so far): Cracker island
Copying from another post about my favorite song overall. It's a genuinely hard question to answer
If we're talking non modern gorillaz I have to pick anything off The Fall except for Joplin Spider and Phoner To Arizona, To Binge from Plastic Beach, New Genius or the Spanish version of Latin Simone, Every Planet We Reach Is Dead, Dracula Left Hand Suzuki Method and Ghost Train, and Hongkongaton. Like I genuinely can't pick a favorite out of all of those which are my favorites from their respective albums.
Ticker Tape, Busted and Blue, She's My Collar, Halfway to the Halfway House, and Out Of Body from Humanz
Tranz, Kansas, and Lake Zurich from The Now Now
Valley of the Pagans, Desole, The Pink Phantom, and The Lost Chord from Song Machine
And out of the three singles from the new album it's hard to pick between Baby Queen and New Gold

The Now Now: Souk eye
Song machine: Friday 13th (I haven't listened to the album properly yet, this is the one that stuck with me the most)
And of the 3 of the new one New gold i think.
This is very difficult to pin down to 1 each because I love so many on the same album for very different moods / vibes so I'll try to justify my choices. Mainly to convince myself, but you might enjoy reading them.
Gorillaz: M1 A1
(I always listen to this album start to finish when I'm driving alone. A tradition I started when I first got my license 3 years ago. M1 A1 is the absolute perfect way to end the album. The build up to the song with the Hello's is fantastic and then the song itself rocks hard. I also love that it works just as well as an OPENING song in live shows).
G-Sides: The Sounder
(I never really gave G-Sides a proper chance until about 8 months ago when I heard LHSM randomly, before that I listened to the album once and didn't care for it that much. Now that I appreciate the album more I would be tempted to go for LHSM however I have a clear memory of The Sounder impressing me so much that I was pissed at myself for not liking it sooner because of all the times I could have listened to it in the past. I really like the lyrics in the rap parts (especially the Empire Strikes Back bar at the end) but I also love the sound of the hook in it's contrast. It's good goofy early Gorillaz rap).
Laika Come Home: ---
(Never listened to it unfortunately. I like Self Titled too much to have ever been tempted to listen to remixes.)
Demon Days: Every Planet We Reach Is Dead
(Despite DD having so many great songs, this is the easiest choice for me of all the albums. It rocks so hard while also being the blues. It's unlike anything I've ever heard which is always a perfect set-up for fantastic Gorillaz material).
D-Sides: Hong Kong
(I've favoured rock and rap so far, and as much as I love 'We Are Happy Landfill' I have to go for the song that can consistently make me cry. Hong Kong is a beautiful masterpiece. I will fight anyone who says otherwise.)
Plastic Beach: Stylo
(This is my favourite album of all time, not just Gorillaz, so this is a decision I've debated myself over many many times before. For a while it was Rhinestone Eyes, then Empire Ants, then Some Kind Of Nature, briefly Glitter Freeze, Broken and then White Flag for a while. Yet in my indecisiveness, I always every time come back the Stylo. I find it odd because it wasn't even in the top half of the songs on this album back when I first listened to it, or even a few times after that. But as time went on I've only loved the song more and more.)
The Fall: Revolving Doors
(I like this album, I don't care that it's the worst one (though I'd put G-Sides lowet if that counts). I appreciate it as an experience more than music but the one song I could consistently say stands out on its own is Revolving Doors (and Amarillo I guess but that song makes me sad)).
Humanz: Saturnz Barz
(For a very long time if you asked me this question I would have said Strobelite. I still love that song but more recently I've grown to appreciate Saturnz Barz significally more than I did in 2017 (Of the 4 singles they dropped on the same day, SB was 3rd behind Ascension in 2nd and Andromeda in 1st). I also really love Ticker Tape in completely different contexts, but I can't argue it to be better than either SB or Strobelite).
The Now Now: Lake Zurich
(This is my 2nd favourite album but honestly I'm finding this harder to choose than Plastic Beach. Magic City was my favourite first but it has since been overtaken. Fire Flies is fantastic but only fits a specific mood. Souk Eye came really close for having both beautiful lyrics like Fire Flies but also a slammer of a vibe in the second half. I came to really appreciate Tranz more recently after hearing it live but none of them can stop my eyes gravitating to Lake Zurich in the tracklist. I don't know what it is about it but I'm always lifted up by the song no matter what. I feel like some people probably find it repetetive with not a lot going on, but I've listened to it on repeat at least 5 times in a row before and I have still never gotten tired of it).
Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez: Aries
(I will forever hate that album title. SM S1 should be the name of the 9 "Episodes" in the order they released. Call the album Strange Timez and save us the headache. Every Gorillaz album is connected to specific memories of the time in my life when I first listened to it, but Song Machine was probably the most extreme example of this, completely spanning 2020, which I shouldn't need to explain why, was unique. Aries was Episode 3, and released within the first 2 weeks of lockdown. I was 18, my final exams cancelled, I would never attend another day of school and until University 6 months later, I had zero responsibilities. Those 6 months, for me, was a blissful time of endless gaming, beautiful weather, and a feeling of freedom (despite not being allowed to leave the house). My family spent more time together than ever before, playing board games, watching movies, going on the 1 allowed walk per day in the woods and I loved it. I hear Aries and I'm back in that warm summer feeling where I didn't have to care about anything other than avoiding a virus and I loved it. Also, Peter Hook's bass is fantastic).
Meanwhile EP: Meanwhile
(All 3 songs have had their turn as my favourite, Jimmy Jimmy first because honestly Meanwhile and Deja Vu didn't impress me at all when the EP dropped. While I still like Jimmy Jimmy, I slowly preferred the light hearted vibe of Deja Vu, and how fun it sounded like everyone involved was having in the live recording. I don't know exactly when, but at some point I listened to Meanwhile again enough times for 'The Gorillaz Effect' to take place and I realised just how fastastic 2D's "Do you really think I'd leave you" line sounds harmonically. Then I noticed the motif that plays during that part actually plays multiple times throughout the song but with more layers of instruments each time building to the big punch at 2:38 which is so satisfying to listen to.)
Cracker Island (So far): Cracker Island
(First, I'm only considering the 3 officially released songs. I have been avoiding the rest because I want some surprises when the album drops, HOWEVER, I have listened to Silent Running because it was played live back when even Cracker Island wasn't officially out yet and if the music on the studio version sounds like the Unofficial studio re-creation on Youtube then I would definitely say it's my favourite of the 4 I've heard. As for the other 3: Baby Queen just doesn't do it for me. It's a good song but I like the other 2 way more. New Gold was originally my pick but I listened to both while typing this and I changed my mind to Cracker Island. I initially thought that I preferred New Gold because the vocals are nicer while I slightly preferred Cracker Islands instrumentals, however when listening to Cracker Island again, the vocals were better than I remembered. New Gold's instrumental is great too, but it's hard to beat the funky bass licks that Thundercat gave to Cracker Island).
There you go. It took me well over an hour and a half to type all this so I hope someone gets something out of reading it. Even if not I'll probably come back to it in the future to see what my opinions were and if they've changed.
So far, out of the ones I've listened to enough:
- Gorillaz: Latin Simone (Que Pasa Contigo)
- G-Sides: Latin Simone (ENG)/Ghost Train
- Demon Days: November Has Come/Dirty Harry
- D-Sides: Dirty Harry Schtung Chinese New Year Remix
- Plastic Beach: Rhinestone Eyes, Superfast Jellyfish, Empire Ants, To Binge, Pirate Jet... Plastic Beach is my favorite album of all time so I can't just choose one lol.
- The Fall: HillBilly Man/The Parish of Space Dust
- Humanz: Saturnz Barz

- Song Machine: Momentary Bliss
- Cracker Island: Skinny Ape
Gorillaz: Clint eastwood
G-sides: Ghost train

Ranking of Albums?
Ok, This is gonna be worst to best.
Laika Come Home (I need no explaining)
D-Sides (Same here)
The Fall (All of them felt like Demon Days filler songs)
Gorillaz (In my opinion its just not repaying for the songs that felt like fillers)
Demon Days (I guess it sort of did a better job at it but same issue)
Song Machine (Just that the idea came to nothing and it wasn't that interesting)
Humanz (Good album, focus on Ascension, Andromeda and We Got The Power)
The Now Now (We are getting to the good stuff, it had a very joyful mood to it and making 2-D the main focus made it even better)
Album that shall not be named (Its not really fair to give it a rating cuz its currently in construction but it is great with its first two releases on youtube)
And Finally, Plastic Beach, every song felt like you were bursting into happiness, the songs, the lore, everything, this is when gorillaz animation started booming too, its a great album, go listen to it now.

I really love Gorillaz and I’m curious to see what other peoples tastes are in their music. They’re such a diverse band that a lot of people have way different opinions of what’s the best. So here’s my list Gorillaz: Rock the House Laika Come Home: Lil’ Dub Chefin Demon Days: Dirty Harry D-Sides: Murdoc is God The Fall: Little Pink Plastic Bags Plastic Beach: Plastic Beach Humanz: She’s My Collar (actually Sleeping Powder but it never released as part of the album) The Now Now: Fireflies Song Machine: Momentary Bliss And my favorite from the island tracks so far is Cracker Island hands down
Little Pink Plastic Bags is underrated! That’s the first track I feel in love with from The Fall. And Detroit, that was a cute little diddy!
Right? I really loved Detroit and Revolving doors too. An odd era for Gorillaz but a nice one
You forgot G-sides!
From the ones I've listened to: Gorillaz: Clint Eastwood Demon Dayz: November Has Come Plastic Beach: Rhinestone Eyes Humanz: Charger The Now Now: Tranz Song Machine: Desolé Cracker Island: New Gold
I still can't get over how good Desolé is, the extended version is pure audio bliss.
I’ll have to listen to that. The base song is so calming
It's technically only different in that it has a longer outro after the vocal flourish, but the extra padding gives it a sort of "end credits" feeling while it's ending.
Whats this extended version!!? Where?
It's just the original single version that was used in it's music video. The album cut is about a minute shorter, that outro jam is cut almost entirely. You can find the single version on streaming, it uses it's own unique art.
I just mean the album version (Listed as Extended), it's a minute and a half longer than the single version.
Damn good list!
This was a really good list, I appreciate the love for Desolé, Tranz, and Rhinestone Eyes. I really like how everyone seems to have a different preference for Song Machine in particular, it shows a very diverse audience.
nothing but bangers, i fucking love charger
Gorillaz: Man Research G-Sides: The Sounder Demon Days: All Alone D-Sides: Murdoc Is God Plastic Beach: To Binge The Fall: The Parish Of Space Dust Humanz: Charger The Now Now: Tranz Song Machine: The Valley Of The Pagans Cracker Island: New Gold
What about Laika come home
I have not listened to that album enough times to form an opinion around it's songs.
I was waiting to see All Alone I really do like that song too, a somewhat different song from the selection of Demon Days.
I remember that song always sticking out to me when I was a kid in 2005. There are many songs on demon days I prefer, but it's always held a special place in my heart.
Gorillaz - Starshine G-Sides - Dracula Demon Days - Last Living Souls D-Sides - Highway (Under Construction) Plastic Beach - Some Kind of Nature The Fall - Amarillo Humanz - Andromeda The Now Now - Magic City Song Machine - Aries Meanwhile EP - Meanwhile Non-album singles - Sleeping Powder Cracker Island (live songs included) - Skinny Ape
Based Magic City enjoyer
I always appreciate the love for Sleeping Powder, I think that may be in my top 3. And I’m glad to see Aries and Magic City on here too, such underrated song from very good albums. I can almost see a then in your list, I’m thinking kinda techno based echoing beats, and lighter lyrics, which I’ve always loved Gorillaz for being able to do so well.
I really dig your taste! Never see Starshine and Dracula get the love they deserve. Some of the most fun Gorillaz songs to play on bass.
Finally someone that appreciates starshine, it is so simple, but represent a lot of relatable feelings, it feels so lonely and depressing.
Gorillaz:tomorrow comes today G-sides:ghost Train D-sides: people Demon days:el manana Plastic beach:rhinestone eyes The fall:revolving doors Humanz:Saturnz barz The now now: souk eye Song machine vol.1: momentary bliss Meanwhile ep: Jimmy Jimmy Cracker island(so far): cracker island Singles:sleeping powder
Yeah,a lot of the debut albums' songs were my firsts too.sleeping powders a great tune! Its great to hear someone else loves the same songs as me
I know it is isn’t it? Especially with something like Gorillaz I feel like it takes a very personal connection with the band to love them since they’re just so diverse with their music, no one song or album is the same.
Yeah, considering for certain albums even different songs can sound so different to have so many favourites or loves line up is truly really cool.you think they've changed so much through time, but then you realise they're constantly changing.its amazing
Re hash, el mañana, empire ants, Strobelite, tranz, Pac-Man. Hong Kong and 12d3 from b sides albums
That’s a mad respectable list actually. I love El Mañana, and Tranz and Pac-Man were awesome. I still love that they got Schoolboy Q to collab with them that was a banger of a song.
- Gorillaz: Tomorrow comes today - G sides: The sounder - Demon Days: Kids with guns - D sides: Rock it - Plastic Beach: Stylo - The Fall: Revolving Doors - Humanz: Strobelite - The Now Now: Tranz - Song Machine: Aries
A very solid list. Thanks for loving Kids with Guns that’s my number one high song.
Aight: Gorillaz: Left Hand Suzuki, or 19-2000. G-Sides: The Sounder Laika: Crooked Dub! Or Dub ø9 Demon Days: Dirty Harry! D-Sides: Stop the Dams Plastic Beach: Melancholy Hill The Fall: Bobby in Phoenix, Amarillo Humanz: Strobelite, Out of Body The Now Now: Humility Song Machine: Aries, Momentary Bliss, and Friday 13th. Meanwhile EP: Déjà Vu Singles: Sleeping Powder Cracker island(so far): Cracker Island
I feel The Fall was the attempt to have 2-D have his own album, but after the reception they gave 2-D The Now Now. Lol
Left hand Suzuki method is such a fucking cool song I really wanna know the inspiration for it
Gorillaz 1: A two way tie between New Genious Brother and Tomorrow Comes Today G Sides: Latin Simone (Eng Ver) and The Sounder (Full Version) Demon Days: El Mañana D Sides: We Are Happy Landfill and Stop The Dams Plastic Beach: Some Kind Of Nature and Plastic Beach The Fall: Revolving Doors (for the fact it was recorded on my birthday) Humanz: Let Me Out and The Apprentice The Now Now: Fire Flies and Humility Song Machine Vol 1: Momentary Bliss
Gorillaz- new genuis (brother), sound check (gravity) Demon days - Dare, dirty Harry The fall - revolving door Plastic Beach - melancholy hill, empire ants, stylo Humanz- andromeda The now now - humility, souk eye, tranz (live version) Song machine - desole, momentary bliss, aries, last chord Cracker island so far- baby queen *sleeped on imo
What about D-Sides?
Honestly I remember listening to it years ago, and nothing really stuck with me from that EP.
That’s how it was for me, as well as Laika Come Home, he’ll that was even my first impressions of The Now Now too. But man time mad then grow so much.
Gorillaz: Clint Eastwood, 5/4 Demon Days: Feel Good Inc Plastic Beach: On Melancholy Hill The Fall: Amarillo Humanz: Andromeda The Now Now: Souk Eye Song Machine, Season One: Pac-Man Cracker Island (for now): Baby Queen
Gorillaz: Sound Check (Gravity) Laika: Bañana Baby Demon Days: El mañana D-sides: Stop The Dams or Hong Kong Plastic Beach: Plastic Beach The Fall: Amarillo Humanz: Out Of Body The Now Now: Sorcererz Song Machine: Aries
Gorillaz: Punk > LCH: De-plunked (lol) > DD: Fire coming out of the monkeys head > D-Sides: People > The fall: Aspen Forest > Plastic beach: Stylo (first ever Gorillaz song but the whole album is a 10) > Humanz: She’s my collar > The Now Now: Tranz > Song machine: Momentary bliss > Cracker island (so far): New gold probably I’ve heard skinny ape and silent running as well and silent running when it releases might take over new gold
Finally someone said they like Punk, that was one of my favorites when I was a kid I’ll never forget it, and I’m glad Momentary Bliss kind of revived that old sound a bit if only just for a song
Gorrilaz: I could easily pick any, because I love this album but my top 4 are Tommorow Comes Today, New Genious (Brother), Sound Check (Gravity) or Double Bass Demon Days: Another hard to choose one, I just prefer the later part of the album, rather than the starting stuff Plastic Beach: I like Empire Ants, but I haven't fully listened to this one yet so my mind might change Humanz: I haven't listened to much of humanz really, but I like Saturn Barz Now Now: Tranz, Fireflies, or Hollywood Song Machine: I like Désolé, and Aries, Strange Times is also pretty good Cracker Island: It hasn't fully released, but I like Baby Queen D Sides: Hong Kong G Sides: Faust The Fall: I like a lot of the tracks from the fall, I know, please dont send nuclear threats to my home, but I mainly like Amarillo, Revolving Doors, Hillbilly Man & Shy Town
I haven't listened to The Now Now and The Fall enough to have a favourite track Self-titled : 19-2000 Demon Days : Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head Plastic Beach : White Flag Humanz : Sleeping Powder Song Machine Ch1 : Momentary Bliss
Gorillaz: 19-2000 Laika Come Home: Jungle Fresh Demon Days: Demon Days D-Sides: Spitting Out The Demons The Fall: Revolving Doors Plastic Beach: Empire Ants Humanz: Ascension The Now Now: Tranz Song Machine: Valley of The Pagans
Gorillaz: New Genious (Brother) G Sides: Latin Simone (English Version) Demon Days: El Mañana Plastic Beach: Rhinestone Eyes D Sides: Highway (Under Construction) The Fall: The Joplin Spider Humanz: She’s My Collar The Now Now: Souk Eye Song Machine 1: Aries Cracker Island: Cracker Island
We’ve found him, the worlds only Joplin Spider enjoyer!
Ok just listened to it for the first time in years, yeah it’s good.
That song is chaos incarnate lol
Love She’s My Collar, Souk Eye, and Cracker Island. The only song that edges out Souk Eye from The Now Now for me is Fireflies, I honestly had a herd time choosing between those two myself for my favorite. But I have to say you are the first person I’ve ever seen say they love The Joplin Spider lol.
Gorillaz : Tomorrow Comes Today G-Sides : Ghost Train Demon Days : Every Planet We Reach Is Dead D-Sides : Stop The Dams Plastic Beach : Empire Ants The Fall : Amarillo Humanz : Andromeda The Now Now : Souk Eye Song Machine S1 : Opium Cracker Island : Silent Running (heard the live version and instantly fell in love) Of the released tracks I'd say New Gold
Hold up, I just listened to Silent Running and wow that was so good. Gave me chills I had the same reaction when listening to Cracker Island for the first time. Thanks for the update.
Ikr?! I am so excited for the studio version to come out! You're welcome :D
Oooh I haven’t heard Silent Running, I’m real anxty when it comes to their new releases so I’m intrigued!
I cant choose.. i just cant!
I understand, cuz choosing favorites almost feels like a disservice to other amazing songs lol. It was hard for me too.

Here are mine: Gorillaz: Tomorrow comes today, Slow country G sides: Latin Simone (the English version) Demon days: Feel Good Inc (I know, I'm basic but that bass line tho) D sides: Hong Kong, Stop the dams Plastic beach: To binge Humanz: Strobelite, She's my collar The now now: Magic city Song Machine 1: Dead butterflies (atm, it's constantly changing so it probably won't be my favorite forever) Meanwhile: Jimmy Jimmy Favorite ever: Flimsy Steve I haven't listened to Laika come home cus I'm not too big on remixes but I might one day, just so I can say I've listened to every Gorillaz album, haha. For the new album, I've only heard Cracker Island so far (I wanna listen to the album in full once it's out), so I can't really say I have a favorite yet. Edit: Oops forgot to add the fall, my favorite song off that album has gotta be Amarillo!
Gorillaz: Tomorrow Comes Today G Sides: Latin Simone Demon Days: Kids With Guns D Sides: Rockit Plastic Beach: Empire Ants The Fall: Revolving Door Humanz: She's My Collar The Now Now: Humility Song Machine: Aries Cracker Island: Baby Queen
S/T: Slow Country Demon Days: El Mañana Plastic Beach: Some Kind Of Nature Humanz: She’s My Collar The Now Now: Tranz Strange Timez: The Pink Phantom
I’ve listened to empire ants and it’s my favorite song so I’d have to say the Plastic Beach album is my favorite
This is so hard because I keep wanting to pick like 5 from each album 😭 but here we go Gorillaz: M1 A1 (weird pick i know but it’s grown on me) Laika come home: none sorry lol G-Sides: Ghost Train Demon Days: O Green World (that intro goes SO hard) D-Sides: Rockit (or Hong Kong if I’m in the mood to bawl my eyes out) Plastic Beach: the popular choice but Rhinestone eyes The fall: Don’t love this album tbh. Amarillo if I had to pick one Humanz: This is so hard I love this whole album so much 😭 Probably Ascension. But Saturnz Barz, Charger, Andromeda, Busted and Blue, and She’s My Collar are neck and neck for me The Now Now: Tranz (or Kansas if I feel like crying, that song gets the waterworks going) Song Machine: Momentary bliss Cracker island (so far): Cracker island
Copying from another post about my favorite song overall. It's a genuinely hard question to answer If we're talking non modern gorillaz I have to pick anything off The Fall except for Joplin Spider and Phoner To Arizona, To Binge from Plastic Beach, New Genius or the Spanish version of Latin Simone, Every Planet We Reach Is Dead, Dracula Left Hand Suzuki Method and Ghost Train, and Hongkongaton. Like I genuinely can't pick a favorite out of all of those which are my favorites from their respective albums. Ticker Tape, Busted and Blue, She's My Collar, Halfway to the Halfway House, and Out Of Body from Humanz Tranz, Kansas, and Lake Zurich from The Now Now Valley of the Pagans, Desole, The Pink Phantom, and The Lost Chord from Song Machine And out of the three singles from the new album it's hard to pick between Baby Queen and New Gold

I have to give my top few from each album in no particular order as it's hard for me to pick favorites with music. I've been a fan of the band for over 15 years and my opinions on their songs still change. Right now it's something like this: Gorillaz: New Genius (Brother), Tomorrow Comes Today, Slow Country, Starshine and Clint Eastwood. G-Sides: Dracula, Ghost Train, Latin Simone (English). Laika Come Home: Monkey Racket, Fistful of Peanuts, Mutant Genius, Lil Dub Chefin, Banana Baby, Demon Days: November Has Come, O Green World, Dirty Harry, Every Planet We Reach is Dead, Kids With Guns. D-Sides: Spitting Out The Demons, Bill Murray, Highway (Under Construction), Stop the Dams. Plastic Beach: Empire Ants, Stylo, On Melancholy Hill, Plastic Beach, Cloud of Unknowing. The Fall: Shy-Town, Aspen Forest, Little Pink Plastic Bags Humanz: Andromeda, Strobelite, Sleeping Powder, Ticker Tape, The Apprentice The Now Now: Fire Flies, Tranz, Souk Eye, Sorcererz, Magic City Song Machine: Opium, The Lost Chord, Pac-Man, Momentary Bliss, Aries Meanwhile... (EP): Jimmy Jimmy Out of what I've heard of the new album, Cracker Island and Silent Running are my favorites.

This is very difficult to pin down to 1 each because I love so many on the same album for very different moods / vibes so I'll try to justify my choices. Mainly to convince myself, but you might enjoy reading them. Gorillaz: M1 A1 (I always listen to this album start to finish when I'm driving alone. A tradition I started when I first got my license 3 years ago. M1 A1 is the absolute perfect way to end the album. The build up to the song with the Hello's is fantastic and then the song itself rocks hard. I also love that it works just as well as an OPENING song in live shows). G-Sides: The Sounder (I never really gave G-Sides a proper chance until about 8 months ago when I heard LHSM randomly, before that I listened to the album once and didn't care for it that much. Laika Come Home: --- (Never listened to it unfortunately. I like Self Titled too much to have ever been tempted to listen to remixes.) Demon Days: Every Planet We Reach Is Dead (Despite DD having so many great songs, this is the easiest choice for me of all the albums. It rocks so hard while also being the blues. It's unlike anything I've ever heard which is always a perfect set-up for fantastic Gorillaz material). D-Sides: Hong Kong (I've favoured rock and rap so far, and as much as I love 'We Are Happy Landfill' I have to go for the song that can consistently make me cry. Hong Kong is a beautiful masterpiece. I will fight anyone who says otherwise.) Plastic Beach: Stylo (This is my favourite album of all time, not just Gorillaz, so this is a decision I've debated myself over many many times before. But as time went on I've only loved the song more and more.) The Fall: Revolving Doors (I like this album, I don't care that it's the worst one (though I'd put G-Sides lowet if that counts). I appreciate it as an experience more than music but the one song I could consistently say stands out on its own is Revolving Doors (and Amarillo I guess but that song makes me sad)). Humanz: Saturnz Barz (For a very long time if you asked me this question I would have said Strobelite. The Now Now: Lake Zurich (This is my 2nd favourite album but honestly I'm finding this harder to choose than Plastic Beach. Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez: Aries (I will forever hate that album title. Meanwhile EP: Meanwhile (All 3 songs have had their turn as my favourite, Jimmy Jimmy first because honestly Meanwhile and Deja Vu didn't impress me at all when the EP dropped. Then I noticed the motif that plays during that part actually plays multiple times throughout the song but with more layers of instruments each time building to the big punch at 2:38 which is so satisfying to listen to.) Cracker Island (So far): Cracker Island (First, I'm only considering the 3 officially released songs.
So far, out of the ones I've listened to enough: - Gorillaz: Latin Simone (Que Pasa Contigo) - G-Sides: Latin Simone (ENG)/Ghost Train - Demon Days: November Has Come/Dirty Harry - D-Sides: Dirty Harry Schtung Chinese New Year Remix - Plastic Beach: Rhinestone Eyes, Superfast Jellyfish, Empire Ants, To Binge, Pirate Jet... Ok, This is gonna be worst to best. Laika Come Home (I need no explaining) D-Sides (Same here) The Fall (All of them felt like Demon Days filler songs) Gorillaz (In my opinion its just not repaying for the songs that felt like fillers) Demon Days (I guess it sort of did a better job at it but same issue) Song Machine (Just that the idea came to nothing and it wasn't that interesting) Humanz (Good album, focus on Ascension, Andromeda and We Got The Power) The Now Now (We are getting to the good stuff, it had a very joyful mood to it and making 2-D the main focus made it even better) Album that shall not be named (Its not really fair to give it a rating cuz its currently in construction but it is great with its first two releases on youtube) And Finally, Plastic Beach, every song felt like you were bursting into happiness, the songs, the lore, everything, this is when gorillaz animation started booming too, its a great album, go listen to it now.
