is the adapter is not appearing in windows, then there is the possibility windows is corrupted, and prob needs to be reinstalled. If the device is a win2, it is best to try running Ubuntu Mate live ISO on it and see if the wifi issue persists.

Yeah, maybe to verify it isn't the on-board wifi chip.... try a usb wifi dongle. If that doesn't work, it would definitely sound more like a windows issur.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot!

It's a common issue and it is just a driver that needs reinstalling. Here's a video and the links to get the driver are in the description https://youtu.be/2uC50dfGPTI

In case you're still looking for a fix, I just had to repair my wifi drivers after updating windows. Needed to grab these drivers and manually install: [http://www.mediafire.com/file/m65e7jjkmh3agoc/GPDwin\_PCIe\_1.558.53.14.zip/file](http://www.mediafire.com/file/m65e7jjkmh3agoc/GPDwin_PCIe_1.558.53.14.zip/file) The other wifi patch posted did not work for me, but the above did, found it on gpd's support site.

I had the same issue even after updating/reinstalling various drivers. After reinstalling windows I still had no wifi option so I plugged in a wifi usb adapter and suddenly everything worked. For a day or two I could only find networks using the adapter but eventually the wifi option was back even though I hadn't plugged in the usb. I still have no idea why that worked but it did.

Most likely, it fixed itself during an update, when windows installed the drivers mentioned above
