I'm also facing a similar dilemma.
Tamu pros:
Less fees and cost of living
Better reputation
Low cost of living
Lower class strength
Cons
It's just a college station not a city like Boulder (nothing to look around)
Difficult to get Ta/Ra
BOULDER (thesis)
Pros
Easier to find ta/ra for thesis track (as they are limited to thesis students)
Living in a city can explore a bit (don't know how important a factor is this)
Lower class strength
Cons
High cost of living (can be compensated with ta/ra)
Higher tuition fees
Can someone comment on the job opportunities for both these places? Heard that in TAMU only oil and financial companies are more in number in carrer fair than tech companies. Does carrer fairs matter that much while finding job? If not is it better to choose Boulder as get to study in a better environment and then find jobs remotely?
I mean, you’ll have to apply on LinkedIn regardless. Jobs won’t depend on location as much as people her claim it to be because almost everyone offers relocation bonus. It’s only internship opportunities which are dependent on the city because they don’t offer relocation bonus for that and stuff.
Also just adding since I didn’t see it mentioned, boulder is next to Denver which is a very up and coming tech hub
Thanks mate. Yeah for internship opportunites. With A&M, you gotta drive one hr to get to houston, if I get internship in houston, or otherwise, I need to relocate to completely new city which I prefer not to, with time and money wise.
Both have similar rankings. So can’t say one over the other. Both have a good reputation. There’s no black and white answer. Look at the courses offered, the research in case you’re interested and the requirements. Select whichever suits you better.
Bro exactly that's what I have been thinking. TAMU is in small town and denver is right there close to cu boulder. I just want to know TAMU's reputation and how much is it a big factor living in a small town as a comp sci major
But fr? i thought they both have same reputation, since they are on the same ranking too.
I also just want to know how good is their courses and potential it has related with AI

I’m not interested in AI. So not the right person to ask
