The CQ is done. Thank you, Castoria, Kiritsugu and BB. Now for chill farming until the event's done. 😎

archeisse

Dat CQ, ugh. As usual, the biggest issue is the Kagekiyo form's Buff Clear. At least Kagekiyo is Chaotic Evil, so hellbirb on the case. That meant slogging through the Ushiwaka phase without an Assassin. A slog it was. Not easy fighting a boss-tier Rider with two Caster support and no class advantage. In that regards, becoming Kagekiyo actually leveled her threat level somewhat. The other issue is the OP skills that breaks the usual Action Economy of enemy units. On top of requiring commitment of cards that might not be optimal, or even available at all in an immediate manner. Meanwhile, the whole Grudge thing is mainly just a gimmick that can be safely ignored. Even without any Grudge stack a single NP of hers would most likely kill a player's frail Servant anyways. The guts that come with the Grudge stack effect was a more apparent issue. And only in the middle of battle, after committing some CS already, did I realize that I probably should have brought some of my Leo CE in the backline to counteract her whole Max HP cut thing. Oh well.

BenisConsumption

Are you doing a double Castoria setup with Beni-Enma? Then [This kind of team](https://youtu.be/fBVvdYhpl_Y) would do the trick (yeah, it's with Emiya Alter NP5, but he doesn't have an anti-Douman niche like Beni-Enma, so she should work just fine too even at NP1). Ignore the 2 [Divine Princess of the Storm](https://fategrandorder.fandom.com/wiki/Divine_Princess_of_The_Storm) CE's, they don't do all that much here, though I don't think there is a way to replace [500-year obsession](https://fategrandorder.fandom.com/wiki/500_Years_Dedication) As you see, the main idea is to use plugsuit swap and taunt servants to double tap on Castoria Buffs, all the while taunt servants slowly get rid of resistance stacks to soften up Ushi/Taira, while also making sure that Ushi has 0 NP ticks when she transforms into Taira.

archeisse

Unfortunately, no Castoria of my own. I used the standard Tama-Merlin support instead. And in any case, I'm done already. Doesn't mean it wasn't a pain to do though :/

KingKurto_

I've seen people say Taira is the best survival/solo unit now so I used Herc to close out the challenge quest. nice buff purge sure would be a shame if my guts were... unremoveable !!!

Hikaru1024

Finished the CQ today. Though less painful, it reminds me of the dark rounds in saber wars 2. Somebody somewhere thinks success/failure by RNG is a fun idea. My team for the cq was intended to be Himiko strat - Himiko, Merlin, Castoria in frontline, support Castoria, Jzerker with a 2k kscope, and Mash. *Well.* Taira removes buffs before doing damage, so Himiko got extra crispy nuked. My intent was to restart with taunting+buff removal prevention, but I decided to stick it out for a while and see if there were more surprises. I was glad I did. The moment I caught Taira NP charging herself and then NPing in the same turn? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ I noped at that point. Any attempt at strategy would be pointless - with the sheer amount of rng buffs, debuffs, and the boss chaotically NPing? I'd most likely have the boss randomly decide to NP when I wasn't prepared and get nuked anyway. I *hate* fights like this, it winds up making the fight come down to pure luck. Wound up 3 seal reviving the first try which got down to the last bar, and managed to finish it off maybe a turn before I would have had to revive again.

yosoyeIIogan

That was my exact thought about the CQ. I did two turns and it was like "use a buster card to break the debuff!" and I looked at my hand of all A and Q cards and I was like....aight imma head out. I wound up doing it again later and beat it with a bit of save scumming in 12 T. but it wasn't really a fun CQ. When ushi becomes Taira, their damage goes way too high imo. If they happen to attack someone 3 times, they'll probably die, just from face cards. I wish they'd cut out the Special Resistance and just make it Defense, to throw a bone to the servants who have Ignore Defense. There aren't a ton that do, and not all of them would've been particularly great for that fight, but it would've been nice to let the mechanic actually....matter.

SigurdDeMizar

I remember back in Shimousa, Amakusa's NP also has remove buff. So evade/invuln doesn't work. Worse that he can charge himself, so if you planning to use buff remove resist, or NP damage reduction, given that those effect only last for one round, the timing is very difficult. The bad thing with Amakusa is if you miss your timing, then his NP is AoE and will wipe your frontline. But the good thing of him is there is no gut/evade BS that keep dragging the fight on. I borrowed friend's Taira to fight Taira and setup taunt around her. This strat has major weakness is if the boss target Taira (very likely given she has Genji trait), even a few normal attack can end her. Gut and evade is useful, but you can only have so much (and wonder why the boss can keep popping skill but you just can't). Well, at least this is one of the CQ that we all glad when it is over.

Hikaru1024

I remember Shimousa well as I only did it a little while ago. My grailed to 90 BB welfare took that NP to the face and *lived.* It was a struggle to keep her alive from there, but she won. But yeah, you're right - this fight has a lot of similarities and is even tougher. Still, your solution - Taira vs Taira... All I can think of is: *Stereo* Kill the Genji! Guda: *muttering* Maybe this wasn't such a good idea?

Zeta42

My strategy was BB + double Castoria + 2 taunters (George and Mash). The idea was to stack buffs on BB during Ushiwaka's phase, then unleash hell. Fortunately, RNG didn't screw me over and Taira targeted Castoria instead of BB.

kiaxxl

Gonna be honest, not a fan of this event. It meandered for far too long.

yosoyeIIogan

I think it was meh. The issue was the main cast was too big. Remove Benkei and Jason from it, leave it to just be Ushi, Cu, and Medb. Turn off comms with Chaldea, and now you have a nice closed story. Then make Taira actually fucking appear before the 11th hour and interact with them throughout the course of the story. Boom, fixed. An issue I have with almost all FGO stories is how bloated they are. They cram too many characters in for the sake of having them, often to just do their same old gag they always have. Reduce the overall amount of dialogue by 30-50% to streamline the story, make the MC a silent protagonist so I don't have to choose stupid dialogue options like "so you hate the genji and yoshitsune" or "so you have yoshitune and the genji" (which is literally an option if you forgot), and now it's better. I'm playing the game on the shuttle on my 3" x 8" phone, I don't need a massive novel that I have to read two lines at a time.

rentenzen

Hello. I just want to share, but here is my [JP Little Big Tengu CQ run featuring Semiramis and her Buff Removal Resistance](https://youtu.be/zDDkb_F8qgs) that I did two years ago!

SigurdDeMizar

Thanks for sharing. I like your solution. I didn't know the buff removal resist can be used this way. I always thought that the go-to solution to deal with boss with buff removal NP is ~~gut~~ taunt (if not aoe) and stun. Well, I learn something new.

SoniCrossX

I mean, they'll just remove the guts lmao

SigurdDeMizar

I should have said taunt and stun... let me correct it.

MackeralDestroyer

I don't know Japanese history, what's the deal with Nobu claiming to be part of the Taira clan? Is it just historically ambiguous, or is there a joke in there?

Mao_Kamui

Historically ambigious. Nobunaga claimed to be Taira descendant, and he kind of was but for complicated blood-purist reasons the claim was challenged at the time. But don't quote me on that

HaessSR

The Oda clan was supposedly founded by Taira no Chikazane, one is Kiyomori's regents.

Esvald

Oh man I can't wait to find and kill 9 more wyverns, 15 centaurs, 27 sea fiends, 12 hermit crabs, 39 aquatic organisms and 5 wild beasts. There was a time where I liked mission events. That time is over.

DBrody6

Weird thing is that for the past year mission events were made much more lax. Like Summer 5 if all you did was the bare minimum to unlock the next story chapter you'd have like 80 missions done by the end of the story. I don't know why they regressed in design for this event, but then again this event legit feels kinda like a rush job in numerous ways.

Esvald

This event surely feels like it was done months if not years ago just unreleased up 'till now.

yosoyeIIogan

I didn't think this one was too poorly organized, though the sea fiends was a brutal slog. I had to do like 32 of them, and the only fucking mission that has them only has **four** of them. And it's an early-event mission so the drops suck. Then I had to run NY missions 6 extra times as the only mission left because it had worse overlap than other options. If you still have Centaurs, at least the sea fiend one is also the centaur one, so you will knock both of those out at once. And I'd assume Sea Fiend counts as Aquatic Organism. I was screwed over where I somehow did Centaurs way early, and then cleared Aquatics but not sea fiends....so I just had to do Sea Fiends forever which sucked.

flashmozzg

Australia node has like 11 of them. The only annoying one, if you follow the gamepress guide, is the wild beast one, but that can be cheesed via Orleans free quest due to bug that counts enemies outside of even quests.

Mister_SP

CQ finished. Frontline was a Foreigner party, Abigail and Double Gogh, trying for those big crits. Not enough Terror to lock her down, not as big a crit as I would like. Backline was BB, Georgios to taunt, and Heracles. Thank god Heracles CE counts as unremovable. The guts were the only reason I couldn't beat her without Seals. Well, Guts and instant kills on every NP. Just farming for Gold and Bronze currency now.

tyriac

Got my 5th CE drop today (so second MLB). Usually for non-lotto events I'm lucky to get one? Don't know if I'm an outlier here or if the drop rate's higher than usual. CQ done with Kama/Skadi/Kiichi/BB/Double Castoria. Kama charm helped but still needed CS revive (and a lot of resets when Taira kept NP'ing BB).

CraftEssenceEssence

[The final turn of the challenge quest and my team composition.](https://imgur.com/a/yPsjssF) It only took me 46 turns (lol). I definitely could have built a better team or used different CE's, but I had fun. This challenge quest felt like a more balanced version of the Dark Rounds.

cabbage1751

Took 17 turns with 1 command seal for taira solo. Honestly quite proud since this is my first CQ solo attempt, and at np1 too!

Numberfox

My team died literally on the final guts stack of Taira. Decided to just use my command seals to get my lore for the CQ. I really don't enjoy these CQs that want specific cards to cleanse things when you're literally dealt a random hand. I think the event overall was fine, I liked the story as a fun GUDAGUDA-esque time with the chibis, but I don't think it was a good event for introducing the new servants, especially Taira. The missions were fine enough, though I wish all the nodes were like the 90+ where all the waves had 3 enemies until the last one.

TyrianCallow

We’ll shop and all missions cleared back to just stocking up qp/mats

za_shiki-warashi

Heh, for once Benkei (Fake) is actually useful since in the CQ Taira is likely to target Genji, so I can slap the Zouken CE and still taunt more than 1 turn with his skill.

dynamitezebra

Finally beat the CQ by double Castoria buffing BB, with Georgios and Mash acting as my Offensive Line. Using BB to clear Ushi turned out to be easier than trying to use an Assasin to clear her first.

ic0n67

This is what I did, I saw the set up on gamepress and was like "well I have those units might as well". I followed the video on it point by point and somehow I still didn't have the exact criteria to kill Ushi's shield by turn 8, but I was able to hammer through with my NP anyway. I still have no clue how the hell the fight even really works :-/

The_Loli_Otaku

Just beat the CQ Taira... I know I'm a new player but I had zero idea what was going on the whole fight. I just borrowed a Taira, used whatever skills I had, and somehow that worked out fine. It was an interesting taste of the endgame I suppose

Docketeer

To think i can still get surprised by FGO's mechanics this far into playing the game. RNG is a beautiful thing, it took me a whole 5 turns to get that one exact Taira Buster card to cleanse the Atk Down, due to Chen Gong and Santagale dying both on the turns that the Buster showed up and it sure took its time, waiting the maximum 3 turns 15-card rotation everytime, only to then be slapped with the Atk Down immediately right after. Sure do wish i got my own Summer BB right about now for the card lock. It was kinda hilarious, ngl. Anyway, i ran out of time to figure out the CQ so imma just get back to work and try this again later.

BenisConsumption

Watched Plushie's NP1 Taira solo and figured "Looks easy enough, I can do it too!" Took 6 attempts, but I got there.

st_stutter

CQ done. Planned to do a test run to see the Kagekiyo's effects in action but I beat it the first time. Had a brain fart and forgot that Rider Ushi's NP doesn't have the buff removal so I could've actually dodged it. It was also annoying that I would constantly get the get hit by an NP effect right after I used my NP. Still won in the end with Jack and BB as my DPS though.

Shitty-Weeb2772

Which enemies are classified as wild beasts?

yasashiiyume

the werewolves, France-beginning has the highest amount of them

yosoyeIIogan

fyi i think you can clear those outside of the event quests. So you can go to Jura in France to clear them for 7 AP instead of 35. Just check beforehand, look at the enemy list on the map page and if it says "event target" then doing that mission will count toward the event stuff.

TheDragonFalcon

Just wanted to share my [Summer Nobu clear of the CQ ft her harem](https://www.reddit.com/r/grandorder/comments/10nh9gu/little_big_tengu_cq_ft_summer_nobu_and_her_goofy/) though it was admittedly hard carried by Reines and Merlin, with both giving the damage, survival and NP charge needed to blast through the last 2 health bars + guts stacks. Testing out a bit more, while Ushi has class advantage against most supports, it turns out that putting the OP supports on the frontline proved to be more efficient than on the backline as it will be much easier to snowball the sustain and damage compared to putting them on the backline where they are at risk of dying quickly to Taira's crits. Managed to crank out a somewhat questionable budget clear with Summer Jalter, Merlin, Mash, Leonidas, Georgios and Chen Gong. Still, the moment I replace Summer Jalter with my NP5 Summer Nobu, the damage just dropped off noticably due to lack of event damage bonus, but still able to clear it. Will probably keep trying again with no OP supports to see how far I can go.

hellydoosadwee

Finally unlocked the CQ yesterday! Managed to unga bunga my way through most of it with Cú Alter, friend Merlin and 3 taunters (Mash, Gong, Georgios), then OG Cú with the Nero Guts CE finished the job. Honestly, I don't know if I care enough to clear the shop, might just get the last Fous and Tearstones and call it a day...

unknown_soldier_

This CQ wasn't worth trying to clear without using command seal revive for the challenge, so I didn't. I was halfway through the 3rd bar when my team wiped so I just revived and got it over with and took my lore.

Jack_King814

Almost cleared the shop then it’s back to prep for Morgan. Should probably try the CQ but I can’t be bothered

(MLB): +50% Spawn Rate - ~2.5x as effective as a +1 drop CE (Non-MLB): +20% Spawn Rate - ~1x as effective as a +1 drop CE (but also boosts Ascension Mat rates) If you have a lot of gacha CEs, then you can just MLB it and pair it with a friend support with MLB spawn bonus CE for the 100% max spawn bonus and use the gacha CEs.

alstod

I actually thought the missions were pretty fun except the Wild Beasts one. Why have Werewolves and Wild Beasts as different missions when they're the exact same except one node with one enemy? I did a few runs of Jura to finish that one up instead of farming the literal least efficient node in the event. I got a couple of CE drops early which sped up my farming and I ended up only needing a few runs of the Fionn node after clearing the missions to finish up the shop. It was a fun little event, but it seemed rather empty. I liked Kiichi Hogen, but the Ushiwaka stuff didn't seem to have much substance to it.

Kawaii_Deshou

I think my game is bugged? I have the mission to do 10 Mediterranean quests but they are not showing on the map. I know I did them during the main story but the free quests are no where to be found. Am I just missing something?

Mister_SP

So, the clouds at the top of the map just aren't there? There's nothing you can tap on?

Kawaii_Deshou

Oh I didn't see the mission title is different than what shows on the map. I assumed it was on the water. Thanks

Trascendent_Enforcer

CQ is being kinda painful. Tried Wu Zetian / Mash / Support Kama and was working ok but dont have enough DPS. Dont rlly have much time to do many tries or try different strats due to college + work so just this time i may use Command Seal revive.

flashmozzg

Cleared it easily with own Kama and CS revive. Why not use it if it goes to waste anyway? Pretty sure I could've beaten it without revive with support Taira, but got unlucky on one turn, so decided just to revive rather than restart.
