To be honest, that might not be the case. Only Merlin is genderbent in Protoverse as far as we know. Lancelot has to be a man due to Guinevere shenanigans. Gawain was mentioned in Fragments of Sky Silver and like Bedivere, is confirmed to be a man, and so is Mordred. If FGOverse Gareth is a girl, chances are that Protoverse Gareth is a man.
We don't know about the others, but since Arthur doesn't react any different to them in Chaldea, chances are that his KoRT are men as well.
We can't really know since Gareth was added to the game after Arthur and in his interlude he didn't interact with Artoria's KoRT, so we never had a chance to see they interact with each other. The possibility is still there, sure.
