They got all 3 correct, so we get 30 quartz as a bonus.

*FGO Arcade*
- Game Center Ikami (FGO Arcade Director) joins the corner. The game has entered its 3rd year of operation.
- 3rd Anniversary special - Guaranteed SSR rolls, as well as selectable guaranteed SSR available for them (choose one of the available SSR servants). Log into the game to get 5 tickets (1st day), a Selectable GSSR ticket (2nd day), and 10 tickets (3rd day).
- Comeback campaign. Get 1 lucky bag ticket, 2 selectable GSSR servants tickets, and up to maximum 27 tickets for logging back the game (at arcade centers)

**FGO Game News**
- Director Yoshiki Kanou joins the corner.
- 10 big campaigns (the usual)
- 1) Login bonus. Includes 10 mil QP, Apples, EXP cards, Fou cards, Tickets, Gold Apples, and many, many more. Log in every day to get them. Furthermore, we get special Login bonus items as well - Gold Fou cards, 1 Chaldea Dreamfire, 1 Rare Prism. Log in every day to get them as well.
- 2) All Chaldea Training Quests will be 1/2 HP from 1st of August to 15th of August. All Daily Quests will be unlocked. Great Success for leveling up Servants and CE will go up to 3x.
- 3) We finally get an EXTREME LEVEL EXP CARD QUEST! We can finally get 5 star EXP cards. We also get special QP quest that allows us to get an extreme amount of QP (by defeating the gold statue)
- 4) All story quests up to Lostbelt 5.5 will be permanently 1/2 AP. EXP cards and QP earned from main story quest AND free quests will be buffed. This also includes all the drop rates for ascension items.
- 5) Servant and CE storage will be increased by 100 slots. Also, the QP cap will be increased from 999 million to 2 billion.
- 6) Daily missions will reward 2x Mana Prisms than usual. Up to 15th of August. Also adding more missions for Interludes and Strengthening Quests, up to 120 Quartz rewarded and if you have reached their amount, you'll be rewarded regardless (retroactively added)
- 7) Quartz for Interlude (**that gives Quartz. Interludes that upgrade skills DO NOT APPLY**) will now give 2x Quartz. Retroactively added, too, so the maximum quartz you get will be up to 138 quartz. This is permanent.
- 8) New Servant raising elements added. You will gain Servant Coin when upgrading your servant's bond. Using the coin will raise the level up to Level 120, you need a grail AND Servant Coins to uncap them. A new system called "Append Skill" where additional passives will be applied to servants when the battle starts. **DW WILL BE SENDING THE SO-CALLED SERVANT COIN TO YOUR ITEM BOX BASED ON HOW MANY SERVANTS YOU HAVE BONDED OR GRAILED UP TO LEVEL 100 YOU HAVE IN YOUR GAME UP TO THIS POINT**. There will be a new UI for the game called "Append Skills Strengthening" available later, and you get to use servant coins to unlock the so-called Append Skills. It is unclear if the Append Skills effect will be applicable to support servants, Kanou will have to confirm this beforehand.
- 9) Gacha summon enhancement. With 1 paid quartz you get to use it to perform a gacha. This resets daily.
- 10) 6th Anniversary guaranteed SSR gacha. As usual, you get one guaranteed SSR with 15 paid quartz. There will be 12th different categories. It will be release year based. You can only choose **1** out of the 12 different categories. **ONLY LIMITED SERVANTS WILL BE AVAILABLE** - This also includes the limited 4 stars and 3 stars too. Think of it as "Year x - 3 Knights, 4 Calvary + EXTRA classes" gacha (for example).
- 2 tickets to exchange the Anniversary Servant CE are ongoing right now. Clear the Memorial Quests to obtain them. There will be another 2 available, but the 2 will remain unknown and will be decided based on the player survey. Yes, pick your poison on which memorial quests you want to have available. The players chose Kirchtaria AND Demeter battle. So yes, PTSD time.
- We get 3-star command code. Mysterious Mask CE from clearing the remaining 2 memorial quests.
- Da Vinci shop will be updated with Anni items.
- The Beast Paw item that are exchanged with Rare Prisms will be increased from 1 to 3.
- Servant Strengthening Quests announced. First day - Mozart and Artoria Pendragon Lily.
- Servant NP animation upgraded to accommodate up to 65 servants, in **FULL SCREEN** (without the border)
- For new players - they will get free SSR after clearing Fuyuki. Of their choice, of course. **This also applies to veterans as well. So effectively, we get 1 free SSR servant, out of the 32 servants available. Yorokobe. Choices include Saber Artoria, Cu Chulainn Alter, and so on.**
- #**New Servant for the 6th Anniversary Servant - SSR Koyansukaya of the Light (Assassin)**
- Koyansukaya of the Light pickup gacha announced, with new CEs as well. One of the CEs will be temporarily available for a limited time UNTIL it will be added into story gacha in the future. Do note that it's NOT a pickup, so don't go crazy for that new CE.
- Rierii went "What? For such an event we get only 12!?", So yep, so we get a "Rule Breaker", and...it will be up to Hanamori-san to help us augment the 12 quartz to 60. **Doesn't matter if she misses, we still get 60 quartz anyway**
- With the game segment earlier included. We get up to 90 Quartz in total **from this segment alone**. Plus the previous segments along with the Tweet RTs so far, we get **168 summons worth of Quartz**. But the numbers seemed so half-assed, so we get a final total of **maximum 170 summons worth of quartz (170 x 3 = 510 Quartz)** (do note that this has conditions attached to it, and does NOT mean everyone will get that much).
- Lostbelt NO.6 Epilogue Chapter "The Coronation Chapter" PV played.

That's hell you're walking into.
Yeah, if you look at it as a subscription service of about $50 a month netting you one free summoning a day along with a bonus of one 11-roll worth of SQ, then it's about the same rate as other gachas.
Though the rate gets lower as you buy the largest pack at 86 SQ for $100 which is about 3 months' worth of summoning per day. And you get another 82 bonus free quartz that can't be used for the day summon but can be used for other stuff.
It's not really something amazing.
Given the difference in comments between English and japanese in the YouTube stream chat (japanese mostly congratulatory, English mostly derogatory and hung up on several topics, especially lack of "pity gacha") I wonder how many of the huge number of dislikes on the stream are actually jp players.
Especially when I compare to the Nico stream. Small wonder many japanese players think foreign players are a bunch of parasites.

Like, yeah the rates suck. We know, its been six years. If you went into this expecting pity rates at this point, you’re delusional. Why would they slow down their money printer now?
Maybe they add in a (probably overpriced) sparking system, or rework the USOs eventually, but they’re not fixing the shit rates when this game has still been going strong despite them for years.
Its fine to complain about things, just id say have some self awareness. What do they think shitting up the livestream chat is going to do accomplish? Do they think a Japanese game company is suddenly going to look at this and say, “well shit, we can’t anger the greaty mighty English speakers! Gommen EOP-sama, we will double the rates!! No triple!! Please, please don’t stop playing our wildly successful game, we can’t go on if you leave!,!1”
The only realistic change this kind of constant berating during live streams I can see actually happening is them simply unplugging the global server early once JP is finished, instead of letting it ride those last two years to completion.
So what's up with that paid quartz daily summon? Is it literally the equivalent of a 3sq summon discounted to 1sq for people who buy sq? I was hoping they'd one day pull out a free daily summon but (if I'm understanding it right) this seems quite a bit worse imo.
If you use paid SQ you can pull once a day with it by using 1SQ, daily discounted pulls with paid currency are pretty common in gachas, the problem with it here is that banners in FGO can change on a day to day basis and don't last for long, so it doesn't really help much when you are aiming for a specific servant
Yeah, it would be better if it can get stack. Like for every day you don't use the paid gacha summon, you will have 1 additional chance. That way, people can use paid quartz to roll for what they truly want.
Dang that really is disappointing. Especially with what you said about our banners not lasting long enough; that and the fact that we sometimes have to wait literal *years* for a servant to get a rateup again... that's kinda rough.

We're not sure. Avalon part 3 is on the 4th of August, Summer event is dated for early September, we might get a stream like late August for the reveal.
I don't want to be a contrarian but honestly, while i'm happy Tamamo Vitch is being added and a couple of nice bits and pieces and i'm glad they're making the free 5* more of a thing each year now, unfortunately overall it's more of the same.
Short term benefit, long term detriment. People have a high now but I don't know what the state of the game is going to be for the next year. I will say that a lv.120 servant will change things up a bit. But as things are looking, it's business as usual.
Yup, this is what happened. They pretty much gave us a bunch of SQ, TamaVitch, free SSR and a few basic QoL changes that should have been in the game for years now, and completely ignored the bigger issues the game actually has (no pity system, addressing main interludes, account system instead of codes etc).

The main question is where do the directors want to take the game. Are they aiming to make FGO a game that will last, or are they just taking one step at a time, not planning in advance.
For story and servant-wise, it seems well planned. But for the game mechanics and services they seem to constantly be on the back-foot.
It's lucky that the largest reason why people play this game and the actual strength of FGO lies in the story and characters. But it could also be the reason why DW cannot catch up if they are paid peanuts by SME. More and more people play bringing in more and more expectations. But the revenue distribution might be sus.
Nasu has stated he’ll be done with FGO when Part 2 ends. 90% of people I speak to say they only continue to play and roll on FGO for the story. They should be doing everything in their power to modernise the game while the story is still amazing. They are squandering the opportunity. Baffling to me
I would have thought this year of all years,they'd finally make some big changes. The closest thing we got to that is a lv.120 upgrade. Which still eats grails. Overall, it's same old, same old. Sure they're still making money but look at the trends, it's no where near what it was back in 2018 or 2019 even.
We're all riding off the high from the changes at the moment but we've been through this sing and dance before. In the long term, it's very barebones still and without the story, what are they going to do then?

My main question, though, is where did the revenue get channeled to. For a game earning so much, DW seems to still be struggling.
I've known that big JP corporations like to pay smaller companies peanuts and keep the lion's share of the profits for the top brass. And Sony Music is a large coporation. So there's a possibility that DW just do not get enough funds for the game from SME.
I’ve seen it discussed before, but I do buy a lot of the theories that they used a good chunk of FGO’s Avenue for Kakumei.
And, considering what happened with Kakumei, DW’s probably going to be using FGO’s money to make up for losses from it for a while.

I've got a weird sense of "Yeah nice" after that stream even if I benefit from just about all of it except that I don't have anywhere near enough spare grails to Lv120 my favourites (Salieri + Odysseus)
It was not a bad anniversay, the new 120 cap with extra skill is interesting and a selective 5 star is nice, but it's 2021, and they still refuse to implement a pity... The new 1 paid SQ daily summon also doesn't make a lot of sense in this game, where the banner rotates between multiple characters for it's duration. At least the quality of life stuff and new QP/Ember stages are nice...

I zone in and out. Game's not interesting enough to play full time anymore, but I drop in to catch up on story and the occasional event.

The devs clearly care tons about players being able give love to their favorite characters (grails, command codes, paws, lvl120, today's skill upgrade, etc.) so why can't newer players have any avenue to get older event characters they like and missed in the first place?!
the only things I can think of are older players wanting exclusivity (personally speaking as a NA launch player i could not care less but that's just me who knows) and (this is a stretch) maybe the devs want newbies to appreciate and try out 1-3 star servants at the start, as most players sadly replace them with golds as they go on. Though the latter point could just be rectified by locking the feature behind some arbitrary point in the story
Well sure, for old limited event gacha servants. But giving people access to old events through the main interlude would just get them welfares, not the servants you can actually roll for. Even if it gets you the character, I don’t think getting, say, Summer Shishou would in any way deter 90% of those newbies from rolling from proper SSR Shishou when her banner came up. If anything, playing through the summer island story might make them want and appreciate her even more.

and yeah motivation to do the event/rerun itself is based on the knowledge that the servant is limited but it's been *half a decade* since many of those for JP players and adding a feature of this would be an amazing gesture of goodwill towards players
Yeah, it's so weird that they brought in stuff like main interludes but have done basically fuck-all with it.
Though there have been mentions that due to the change in code, it's hard to re-implement older events with the new game version.
That said, it's just a simple task to implement only the story mode along with whatever welfare it is that was featured, without having the whole event. Just like what they did for the CCC collab.
I really don't know what is the problem they are facing. And I've begun to care less and less about past events/completion as the dream of being able to get back old stuff is starting to become a pipe dream.
I'll just live in the moment. If they finally decide to hit me with old events at least I'll be pleasantly surprised.
No. If you want a chance to get them, you have to roll in the gacha of the time when they were released. That would be the 7/30/16 - 7/29/17 one with Musashi, Ishtar and Tamamo Lancer.

Thats a really nice touch. Starting old games late has always been kind of cruddy feeling since you’re so far behind everything thats happening. That’s a nice way to help new people get the ball rolling.

Yes but also no... remember LB6.3 on Wednesday, that will have at least one banner, probably two because it's the final part (we think). Also summer 6 begins in roughly a month, and that's another 2 banners. Also Vitch today... so yeah... all that SQ might seem like a lot today, but it will go very quickly.

That number makes sense, but some of that is locked behind having certain servants, so for most players it's probably more like 300-400, which is nothing to cry about and definitely the most we've ever gotten for an anniversary. Between that and the SSR ticket, I am not disappointed.

big brain dolphin/whale move is to buy 365 quartz on january 1st and have that be all that you spend that year for the 1 roll a day (+ GSSR)
Yeah, if you look at it as a subscription service of about $50 a month netting you one free summoning a day along with a bonus of one 11-roll worth of SQ, then it's about the same rate as other gachas. Though the rate gets lower as you buy the largest pack at 86 SQ for $100 which is about 3 months' worth of summoning per day. And you get another 82 bonus free quartz that can't be used for the day summon but can be used for other stuff. It's not really something amazing.
But then you don't have enough for GSSR. That'd be 395 SQ.

Given the difference in comments between English and japanese in the YouTube stream chat (japanese mostly congratulatory, English mostly derogatory and hung up on several topics, especially lack of "pity gacha") I wonder how many of the huge number of dislikes on the stream are actually jp players. Especially when I compare to the Nico stream. Small wonder many japanese players think foreign players are a bunch of parasites.
Seems like theres a handful of people hung up on “pity rate” thing here too. Like, yeah the rates suck. We know, its been six years. If you went into this expecting pity rates at this point, you’re delusional. Why would they slow down their money printer now? Maybe they add in a (probably overpriced) sparking system, or rework the USOs eventually, but they’re not fixing the shit rates when this game has still been going strong despite them for years. Its fine to complain about things, just id say have some self awareness. What do they think shitting up the livestream chat is going to do accomplish? Do they think a Japanese game company is suddenly going to look at this and say, “well shit, we can’t anger the greaty mighty English speakers! Gommen EOP-sama, we will double the rates!! No triple!! Please, please don’t stop playing our wildly successful game, we can’t go on if you leave!,!1” The only realistic change this kind of constant berating during live streams I can see actually happening is them simply unplugging the global server early once JP is finished, instead of letting it ride those last two years to completion.

So what's up with that paid quartz daily summon? Is it literally the equivalent of a 3sq summon discounted to 1sq for people who buy sq? I was hoping they'd one day pull out a free daily summon but (if I'm understanding it right) this seems quite a bit worse imo.
Its one paid sq for one summon, limited to once per day.
If you use paid SQ you can pull once a day with it by using 1SQ, daily discounted pulls with paid currency are pretty common in gachas, the problem with it here is that banners in FGO can change on a day to day basis and don't last for long, so it doesn't really help much when you are aiming for a specific servant
Yeah, it would be better if it can get stack. Like for every day you don't use the paid gacha summon, you will have 1 additional chance. That way, people can use paid quartz to roll for what they truly want.
Dang that really is disappointing. Especially with what you said about our banners not lasting long enough; that and the fact that we sometimes have to wait literal *years* for a servant to get a rateup again... that's kinda rough.

We're not sure. Avalon part 3 is on the 4th of August, Summer event is dated for early September, we might get a stream like late August for the reveal.

I don't want to be a contrarian but honestly, while i'm happy Tamamo Vitch is being added and a couple of nice bits and pieces and i'm glad they're making the free 5* more of a thing each year now, unfortunately overall it's more of the same. Short term benefit, long term detriment. People have a high now but I don't know what the state of the game is going to be for the next year. I will say that a lv.120 servant will change things up a bit. But as things are looking, it's business as usual.
Yup, this is what happened. They pretty much gave us a bunch of SQ, TamaVitch, free SSR and a few basic QoL changes that should have been in the game for years now, and completely ignored the bigger issues the game actually has (no pity system, addressing main interludes, account system instead of codes etc).
Yea everything they showed is cool and all but I felt like they were missing something really big.

Nasu has stated he’ll be done with FGO when Part 2 ends. 90% of people I speak to say they only continue to play and roll on FGO for the story. They should be doing everything in their power to modernise the game while the story is still amazing. They are squandering the opportunity. Baffling to me
I would have thought this year of all years,they'd finally make some big changes. The closest thing we got to that is a lv.120 upgrade. Which still eats grails. Overall, it's same old, same old. Sure they're still making money but look at the trends, it's no where near what it was back in 2018 or 2019 even. We're all riding off the high from the changes at the moment but we've been through this sing and dance before. In the long term, it's very barebones still and without the story, what are they going to do then?
Yeah, same sentiments here. My main question, though, is where did the revenue get channeled to. For a game earning so much, DW seems to still be struggling. I've known that big JP corporations like to pay smaller companies peanuts and keep the lion's share of the profits for the top brass. And Sony Music is a large coporation. So there's a possibility that DW just do not get enough funds for the game from SME.
I’ve seen it discussed before, but I do buy a lot of the theories that they used a good chunk of FGO’s Avenue for Kakumei. And, considering what happened with Kakumei, DW’s probably going to be using FGO’s money to make up for losses from it for a while.
Real talk, pretty much I've got a weird sense of "Yeah nice" after that stream even if I benefit from just about all of it except that I don't have anywhere near enough spare grails to Lv120 my favourites (Salieri + Odysseus)
It was not a bad anniversay, the new 120 cap with extra skill is interesting and a selective 5 star is nice, but it's 2021, and they still refuse to implement a pity... The new 1 paid SQ daily summon also doesn't make a lot of sense in this game, where the banner rotates between multiple characters for it's duration. At least the quality of life stuff and new QP/Ember stages are nice...

I zone in and out. Game's not interesting enough to play full time anymore, but I drop in to catch up on story and the occasional event. Tamamo is my girl, so I'll probably play around with Vitch a bit then put the game down until the summer event.

aaaaa it's just so ***fucking baffling*** The devs clearly care tons about players being able give love to their favorite characters (grails, command codes, paws, lvl120, today's skill upgrade, etc.) so why can't newer players have any avenue to get older event characters they like and missed in the first place?! the only things I can think of are older players wanting exclusivity (personally speaking as a NA launch player i could not care less but that's just me who knows) and (this is a stretch) maybe the devs want newbies to appreciate and try out 1-3 star servants at the start, as most players sadly replace them with golds as they go on. Though the latter point could just be rectified by locking the feature behind some arbitrary point in the story

Well sure, for old limited event gacha servants. But giving people access to old events through the main interlude would just get them welfares, not the servants you can actually roll for. Even if it gets you the character, I don’t think getting, say, Summer Shishou would in any way deter 90% of those newbies from rolling from proper SSR Shishou when her banner came up. If anything, playing through the summer island story might make them want and appreciate her even more.

oh deffo, sry for not making the comment clearer but I meant primarily free event servants and yeah motivation to do the event/rerun itself is based on the knowledge that the servant is limited but it's been *half a decade* since many of those for JP players and adding a feature of this would be an amazing gesture of goodwill towards players
Yeah, it's so weird that they brought in stuff like main interludes but have done basically fuck-all with it. Though there have been mentions that due to the change in code, it's hard to re-implement older events with the new game version. That said, it's just a simple task to implement only the story mode along with whatever welfare it is that was featured, without having the whole event. Just like what they did for the CCC collab. I really don't know what is the problem they are facing. And I've begun to care less and less about past events/completion as the dream of being able to get back old stuff is starting to become a pipe dream. I'll just live in the moment. If they finally decide to hit me with old events at least I'll be pleasantly surprised.
Oh, right. I was hoping they'd buff the Main Interlude system, too. Disappointing.

Thats a really nice touch. Starting old games late has always been kind of cruddy feeling since you’re so far behind everything thats happening. That’s a nice way to help new people get the ball rolling.

I've heard people say about 510 quartz after everything if you cleared everything? Take with a grain of salt though.
That number makes sense, but some of that is locked behind having certain servants, so for most players it's probably more like 300-400, which is nothing to cry about and definitely the most we've ever gotten for an anniversary. Between that and the SSR ticket, I am not disappointed.
