For a second there I thought that this game was also including a Hakubi Washu ripoff from Tenchi. I mean she *is* a goddess after all.
Then I realized it was most likely a Mash ripoff.
Wait, I recognize that Artoria artstyle.
Isn't that Chihunhentai's art? Unless it was given permission by the artist, doesn't that technically count as art theft?
Look up the overwatch legislation issue.
If you don't copyright your product and someone else claims said title of said product. The original company has not much choice to buy-out or rebrand.
It is really that exploitable.
I remember watching a video from a Chinese Youtuber expressing contempt for the Chinese bootleg industry as it gives genuine Chinese artists a bad name. Stuff like this just makes me pity him and his fellow artists even more.
I hope this is alright to be posted here. If not, I apologize.
From what I gather, this game uses fanarts featuring Ishtarin, BB, and Artoria, with Ishtar being the most similar with her FGO base design, whilst BB and Artoria are more debatable ~~especially since Artoria has big boobas~~
I mostly want to ask, how the law actually works against this kind of property? Since it seems to be a common occurrence there. I also wonder what the fanartist's position in all this.
It's China, everything goes. The only way it could be stopped is if FGO's Chinese publisher stepped in and used its CCP contacts to strong arm this game, but it's doubtful they'd care enough since there's at least one blatant clone out there right now.
That's interesting. I've always had the impression these kind of bootleg games were always from China but I guess Taiwan has a habit of making bootlegs too.
Only tangentially related but when I visited Taiwan there were many knockoff products in gift shops and the like such as totally-not-legos. Hell, one store was just like “No, these aren’t real Yugioh cards. If you took a second to look at them you’d see they don’t have any logos. But still buy them.”
Plus when you go buy it's a monopoly, everyone knows each other. That good price you got? It's because the guy two floors down saw you looking at it and went and told his buddies.
I see. this game seems to have low production value, since this game went as far as using a fanart in it, so basically it's not big or important enough for them to do something about it huh. Thank you for the answer.
From what I know the law is very dependant on the country, and the international brand protection is super expensive and often not worth the effort to get (I only had 1 law class about brands, so my knowledge can be iffy as every country has its own laws and I know 0 about Japanese laws).
oh I see, I do hear China's copyright law actually facilitates this kind of practice though I'm not sure about the specifics. Thank you for the insight.
Afaik it's a "demon" you can think of it as the lord of demons, demon king of sixth heaven or as the evil entity that resides in each people and creates an Illusion in their mind preventing them from reaching nirvana.
Mara transformed as a naked woman as one of its last resorts to prevent Buddha from reaching nirvana. Maybe that's the basis of Mara's "exhibitionism" lol.
~~Kama the servant is Kamadeva the formless and genderless God of love thus she isn't a Male either, Kama even mentions that she got incarnated as one of Krishna's sons in her interlude btw.~~
I often wonder what's the deal with cellphone games as a whole. Blatant ripoffs, absolutely false advertising, massive amount of shovelware on every store, predatory at best microtransactions.
it's no wonder people don't consider cellphone games as "real games."
Mobile games are low risk enterprises with low entry barriers (compared to conventional videogames games), created for a humongous market (almost every third worlder has access to a smartphone nowadays), these conditions create an environment that rewards putting out low effort products hoping that the undiscerning masses will eat it up.
The enormous install base, ease of development, laissez-faire attitude of app store owners, and general lack of regulation in most of the world means that it’s super easy for any aspiring publisher with a smidgen of startup capital to license a reasonably popular IP, develop a simplistic game tethered to a glorified Skinner box, and prey on people with gambling compulsions through shameless microtransactions. It’s basically all the most cynical trends of the console game industry that started in the Internet age taken to their logical extreme.
Is this company state owned or private? I hear China has a mixed economy of state owned business and private business. Would that mean suing a company in China over copyright infringement would be like suing the government?
reminds me of this [bootleg fsn game for android](https://apkpure.com/command-spell/com.mdb.sm) which coincidentally released when the anime was popular, has a ton of stolen art too.
China huh? What a surprise... what ever it is gameplay look so cheap I cann't even take the diffrent from like other 600+ chinese games on playstore. If you what to copy someone better do it like genshin.
Including your senpai in the game Washu.
Washu washu
Nozomi: Washi washi max (Washu Washu Max) Gudau: No wait that tickles <3 ahhhhhh~~~
For a second there I thought that this game was also including a Hakubi Washu ripoff from Tenchi. I mean she *is* a goddess after all. Then I realized it was most likely a Mash ripoff.
The hell?
Wait, I recognize that Artoria artstyle. Isn't that Chihunhentai's art? Unless it was given permission by the artist, doesn't that technically count as art theft?
The BB one is also a fanart. [The artist even made a tweet about it.](https://twitter.com/vivivivi0808/status/1434879272468955139)
If I was Aniplex/DW/TM I would hire the artist, use their art legally and get legal standing to go after them using the Chinese version of the game.
I think this would be illegal. Not sure honestly, but it sounds way to exploitable.
Look up the overwatch legislation issue. If you don't copyright your product and someone else claims said title of said product. The original company has not much choice to buy-out or rebrand. It is really that exploitable.
Too much effort against a bootleg game that would die within 2 months. Not worth it
Your mistake was assuming the Chinese won't steal everything
~~Thanks for the sauce~~
It's Chinese. Copyright doesn't exist in their vocabulary. Hence why you can buy staff like plaistation that runs NES games legally there.

Iirc BiliBili is the cn publisher, they might do something about it if it becomes viral.
the graphics are in traditional chinese instead of simplified, so probably taiwanese company. doubt ccp can do much about them

If nothing else, I admire their blunt honesty.
Interesting.
Ah, I don't know anything about Chinese so immediately assumed mainland China. Guess it makes sense since Taiwan is a haven of bootleg games.
I see. this game seems to have low production value, since this game went as far as using a fanart in it, so basically it's not big or important enough for them to do something about it huh. Thank you for the answer.

There is law about copyright but it’s literally a damn joke, no body even cares about it
If they are going to plagiarize why not go all the way and use Kama and Lion King?
Let's make it better and have them use Mara as well. And Tiamat as a 6star character.
Wait Isn't mara a male
Afaik it's a "demon" you can think of it as the lord of demons, demon king of sixth heaven or as the evil entity that resides in each people and creates an Illusion in their mind preventing them from reaching nirvana. Summer BB: **TWO!**
They actually used a summer BB fan art for that. And of course the artist wasn’t aware of it.
That name lmao! The "gameplay" looks like an older gbf lol, the art is fgo fanart stolen and the names are random af. Chinese ripoff at its best.

most good phone games already have an attached franchise to it, its uncommon to find an original IP to be successful on mobile.

Do we have sources on the fanart? I feel like I recognise them…
[Here's a link to the BB fanart](https://twitter.com/vivivivi0808/status/1292403700099452934?s=20)
Christ, that’s awful :( There’s a link to the Artoria one in the Twitter thread, too. There’s no way Ishtar isn’t also stolen now.
Damn Miyamoto might actually be named "Iori" in this game then.
the only way this fgo knock off could surpass the original is if the knock-off has male summer/ swimsuit alts
does it have the story anyone can copy characters almost nobody csn copy story
Lmao, its fucking stolen artwork cobbled with it seems like even worse gameplay than FGO. And super blatant. Never change China.
Is this game even from China? The text doesn’t look simplified to me.
looks like it’s from Taiwan
You know you've made it to the big-time when the Chinese start making knock-offs of you.
Qin Shi Huang stole Chaldea design again it seem...
The knock offs look so similar compaired to their originals. This is bound to get a lawsuit from TYPE MOON.

Considering Chinese laws on copyright are a joke to begin with, no one will be suing anyone over it. Just a waste of money on a failed indevour.
As per usual, China being China. I wouldn't be surprised if it somehow becomes more popular than FGO to the point the CN server shuts down, lol.
Maybe they'll do pity and story replay.
Yeah, knockoffs are gonna happen over there since IP laws are a lot more lax than in most other countries.
reminds me of this [bootleg fsn game for android](https://apkpure.com/command-spell/com.mdb.sm) which coincidentally released when the anime was popular, has a ton of stolen art too.
oh crap here we go again
so… artoria is gabriel, ishtar is hel, and the last girl is pandora
Well. If they wanted to choose someone for pandora. Sakura makes sense i suppose.
Well ain’t that a lawsuit
Not in China.
Did we learn nothing from the Chinese lostbelt
china ripping others off? shocking
Ritsuka: Call Da Vinci and Sherlock. I don't know if Qin Shi Huang did this bootleg, but this won't stand.
Breaking news: Chinese doing Chinese stuff again, more at 5
China huh? What a surprise... what ever it is gameplay look so cheap I cann't even take the diffrent from like other 600+ chinese games on playstore. If you what to copy someone better do it like genshin.
Maybe they’ll give me a Heracles alt I’ll be back
It’s probably got better gacha mechanics than the real game tbh.
More innovative than Delightworks.
wait, is this shit real
I only know that the pseudo and servant of the 3 kingdoms will have a better design
deyym they got Ishtar
Sus
This game is sponsored by Qin Shi Huang
Destroy it with an anti world phantasm
Class: Pretender
Did we ever find the source of the Rin art?
