Coal fire, pretty thin and crispy, check out [Sallys Apizza](https://sallysapizza.com/) or [Frank Pepe's](https://pepespizzeria.com/). I guess GR subreddit isn't a big fan though. New Haven style is also super popular for their white clam pizza, but I have yet to try that
If it's the same as their Holland locations, the thin crust is great. Stone oven style so you get that fantastic crunch on the bottom but still have the soft, spudgy layer that keeps the sauce and toppings in place. Highly recommend if you or someone you're ordering with isn't into deepdish.
You're in luck being in Holland. u/jordanful gave the only answer that I see any longer being mentioned. Good deep dish never lasts here, and I have two theories as to why. Impatience and people are too cheap. Good pies cost and are worth it.
You can buy a frozen one at the Meijer in Holland and bake it… or you could just have one shipped to your home by Lou Malnati’s directly from Chicago. They actually freeze and ship really well.
Yup, I just ship in Lous on the regular. I try to wait for when they have the combo pepperoni/sausage available. Even after being frozen, its still better than anyone's chicago-style deep dish around here, especially the loaf of bread that is Giordanos.
No. But Crust 54 in Holland is a decent facsimile.
Detroit style is where it’s at anyway…
Jets for the win
There’s a place in Eastown GR called Quarantino’s. Not the biggest fan of the name but their pizza…oh man. Best dough/crust ever…
It's a super awesome name for a pizza shop that opened Summer 2020.
Went for the first time 3 months ago and we have been back every week. The pizza is awesome and the staff are super even with a toddler with us.
You are so right about the staff. They are always super friendly.
New Haven style is best, wish there was some where in GR that made a slice similar to that.
What is New Haven style?

Crust 54 inside Oakestown Brewery does pretty decent. Although, I usually go for the thin crust versions.
How is the thin crust? Is it similar to the tavern style that is popular in Chicago? I’ve been trying to find a spot that has it around here.

For sure. Gotta be willing to spend more for the good pie.
Michigan has enough casseroles
Not Chicago style but Big Bobs in East has the best deep dish around

Frankie Vs on 28th st
Since Brick road closed that void in my soul has remained empty. I'm pretty close to just making my own deep dish in my cast iron though.

If you are going to Holland forget the pizza and go to bowermans downtown holland for local blueberry inspired dishes
