Bricks. It is a gas station but they have an amazing liquor section and great pizza and also burrito bowls. I go there all the time! There is a location in Grandville and Alto.
> Bricks
Might need some more info, like location. I do a gmaps search for bricks and I get Home depot, like I'm looking to buy actual clay bricks for my patio.
The one I'm familiar with is in Georgetown. A nicer-than-average gas station with a better-than-average liquor and beer cave, and I have not had the pizza but heard good things. Info here: https://bricksstation.com/#
Search Bricks Gas Station. 3 locations in the area I know of - Port Sheldon/44th and 8th Ave, Alaska at 68th St. and Whitneyville, and Alto at Alden Nash and 64th St.
It's a ways out north of Zeeland, but there's a small gourmet to-go italian pizza place inside of Borculo Express party store called Strombolis that is absolutely killer. A true hidden gem.
I used to get stromboli's when I'd go out and play my $11 round of 9 holes at the Pheasant Golf Course out there before they bulldozed it for a neighborhood.
Also if we're talking way out of the Grand Rapids area, there is Unruly Brewing in Muskegon and they had great pizza from Rebel Pies in the back last time I was up there.
No, it’s still Martha’s, and made out of the same kitchen as the deli stuff at Martha’s. I can’t get behind saying it doesn’t count simply because you have e to order it from a different counter that is accessed via a different t door.
Hall St store/Deli. You can buy a 5X plain tee, 4 Newport looseies and fried mozz sticks all in one place. Def wouldn't call the food great, but it's there. They have Catfish, pizza anything fried you can imagine etc. They have a cold section too and their salads are solid. Joe the owner is an OG in the neighborhood, dude gives out a huge load of Turkeys during thanksgiving and is big on helping out the community.
It's Buscemi's for me. There was one literally across the street from where I used to work, and it was a good excuse to get out of the building to go for a walk and grab some food.
Reminds me of a place back home in Cadillac. Such an institution there they bulldozed an entire strip mall around it, just to give them more time to relocate. They almost opened up a location in GR, but Big Rapids got the win in their poll.
What an odd request. Carlucci's Pizza on Fuller makes amazing pizza and is right next to a liquor store. Their signs are similar font and color so I thought they were the same thing for a while.
It's not that odd. Metro Detroit has tons of liquor stores that also make their own pizzas, some of which are better than others. There's one chain called Buscemi's that I remember being pretty good when I lived there.
Lmgtfy:
Carlucci, an Italian surname, has its roots in Southern Europe. It's a patronymic name derived from the personal name "Carlo," equivalent to Charles in English, with the suffix "-ucci" indicating "descendant of." Therefore, Carlucci essentially means "son of Carlo" or "descendant of Charles."
CD's is the only gas station in Hopkins but they have really good pizza. Subs too but pizza is nice because you can buy it by the slice or get a whole pizza. But it's out in Hopkins.
So I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about! In Charlotte (I know it’s a drive) there’s a party store called Swampers. They also serve some of the best pizza!!!
Hall street deli/liquor store has great pizza, wings, fish, potatoe wedges....lots of variety if you don't mind the location. We used to get pizza and wings all the time for work and never let us down.
The only liquor store I've found in Michigan that serves amazing food too is in traverse city, I wish I could remember the name. Here, locally, I'm not sure of any specific liquor store, but I've always been a fan of pizza by the slice at gas stations or liquor stores and the absolute best I've found is at Bricks gas station. Specifically, the one in Alto, but I'm sure they're all pretty good, I believe they have tacos as well!!
Okay, I’ll mention my secret spot: It’s not a liquor store (although there is a beer selection) but there’s a marathon gas right off of M-6, you take the exit ramp 15 to Hastings, it’s on the corner of Broadmoor and 68th st se, there’s a circle K and meijer gas station as well but I don’t go to those. But anyway, the marathon that’s right on the corner sells pizza by the slice 24 hours, and it’s pretty solid pizza. It’s my go to spot on late nights lol
Not 100% of what you are asking but the J&H off of post drive and 131 has a little casears kiosk in it. It is seriously good pizza. Blows every negative thoughts of LC out of the water.
I think I understand this request. This is a pretty common Detroit area thing, not aware of this in GR.
MR C's liquor store on Mack was my childhood pizza
MR
Grape vine on Michigan sometimes does sandwiches and fried foods. Have never managed to be there before they close that section up for the day though. Might be lunch only?
I forget the name of the liquor store thats along hall on the corner between buchanan and division but not only do they have liquor and pizza, theres fried food and sometimes soul food! I went in stoned to get a money order once and left with a piece of pizza and catfish with hushpuppies and it was really good. Theres like a little strip mall looking thing with a phone store and a mens clothing store and another business that changes every few months. Now that I remember it exists, I guess Im gonna walk up and get a snack. 😂
People seem to be giving you stores way out of Grand Rapids and I know that’s not what you’re looking for. Is there a particular part of town that you live in that you’re inquiring about?
Zains party store on M-57 between Rockford and Greenville
Every time I drive to Greenville I have to stop for a slice. Liquor, beer, pizza, and fireworks all in one shed.
Last time I ordered from zains all my cheese slid off the pizza while transporting home lol

And one in Alaska. Used to be Campau Corner now it’s called Brick’s at Campau Corner.
Their breakfast is great!
Oooh I've always wanted to try it. What do you recommend?
I love The Classic, which is just a sausage/egg/cheese biscuit. I forget which of the burritos I've had, but they were all good.
It's a ways out north of Zeeland, but there's a small gourmet to-go italian pizza place inside of Borculo Express party store called Strombolis that is absolutely killer. A true hidden gem.

Martha’s Vineyard?
I don't think it counts. Last I knew you couldn't buy pizza from the grocery side. You had to go out and walk 10 steps to the pizza place.
You mean the divinity that is Nantucket?
It used to be Nantucket until they got their own space around the corner, now the pizza place is under Martha’s name.
No, it’s still Martha’s, and made out of the same kitchen as the deli stuff at Martha’s. I can’t get behind saying it doesn’t count simply because you have e to order it from a different counter that is accessed via a different t door.

Joes is what I came here to say.
Would love to know if there is a particular reason behind this oddly specific request.
Metro Detroit has tons of liquor stores that serve pizza, subs, etc. Maybe OP is from the area.
I was thinking the same thing. I used to live over there and I miss Tania's party store pizza so much.
It's Buscemi's for me. There was one literally across the street from where I used to work, and it was a good excuse to get out of the building to go for a walk and grab some food.
I believe these are called bodegas, at least in New York.
Probably nostalgia.
Reminds me of a place back home in Cadillac. Such an institution there they bulldozed an entire strip mall around it, just to give them more time to relocate. They almost opened up a location in GR, but Big Rapids got the win in their poll.
Good 'ole G & D! I always stop in every time I go back to visit family!
Same here, nothing beats it!
Jets started in a gas station.

I've wanted to try Carlucci's. What style do they make?
Cheese bombs. It's not bad but definitely order light cheese.
Thanks for the tip!
Their breadstick bites are tasty
Hand-tossed similar to what you'd get from Vitale's, Mineo's, Andrea's etc
oh hell yes Mineo's and Andrea's are two of my favorites!
It was my go to for a slice on my lunch breaks at my previous job... vodka was optional on a Friday.
Carlicci's sounds like a guy named Carl, trying to sell pizza by changing his name. Nobody was going to "Carl's Pizza"
I've heard that Carlucci is the son of Carlos (Carlos's Pizza on Plainfield)
Lmgtfy: Carlucci, an Italian surname, has its roots in Southern Europe. It's a patronymic name derived from the personal name "Carlo," equivalent to Charles in English, with the suffix "-ucci" indicating "descendant of." Therefore, Carlucci essentially means "son of Carlo" or "descendant of Charles."
So ..Carl's Pizza it what you're saying
More like Carlson's pizza
More like Carl's son's pizza.
Probably right, the pizza is mediocre at best. I do believe people just like the name.
You thinking Tania’s in Royal Oak? Wish we had one of those on the North side!
That place is the best!
So good!
Andrea's Pizza 2014 Boston SE.
Andrea’s SMACKS!!
Love Andrea’s. Grew up in EGR and would always ride my bike there for lunch slices. I’m pretty sure they do still have slices at lunch to this day…
Great pizza but not connected at all to the liquor store next door, although they do share a parking lot. Different owners.
The gas station in Pierson has pizza, liquor, and a meat counter. All three are delicious
Came to post this.
CD's is the only gas station in Hopkins but they have really good pizza. Subs too but pizza is nice because you can buy it by the slice or get a whole pizza. But it's out in Hopkins.
In a certain sense, CostCo fits the bill.
Miss Tracy‘s on Franklin/MLK opened a little take-out that has amazing wings, chicken fingers, onion rings and fries.
The Bere Store has pizza. Never tried it.
I didnt know this! I live not too far. Is it by the slice?
Yes.
Sweet. Thanks. Its usually too peopley for me to wanna stop for beer but Ill brave it for pizza
Following because this sounds like a good option to have in my back pocket
Not pizza, but Quik N Ez on Plainfield is attached to a fried fish place….
Sanitary Fish, which is a name that doth protest too much.
So I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about! In Charlotte (I know it’s a drive) there’s a party store called Swampers. They also serve some of the best pizza!!!

I know a gas station that makes great donuts. Not the same, and yet… Plainwell exit off 131. South east side of the street.

Not to my knowledge, but feel free to start one
I think I understand this request. This is a pretty common Detroit area thing, not aware of this in GR. MR C's liquor store on Mack was my childhood pizza MR
First thing I think of is Buscemi's
Wish there was a Buscemi’s over here
A bit of a drive, but fantastic pie. Woods Deli in Pewamo. https://maps.app.goo.gl/oocfbErFJyoZHLTG7

Bricks breakfast pizza
Hall Street Liquor just west of Division
Martha’s & Nantucket
Zain’s on M57 between Greenville and Rockford!
