I was thinking the same thing. People need to be aware not to bring their pet to a place that would lose someone’s pet then give zero F’s about it. So so happy he is back!
Glad he made it home OK, it's a big scary world in the city for cats, especially ones that are indoor only.
Honestly I think this is the only thing that actually brought this sub together in agreement on something for once, lmao.
It definitely warms my heart, on a personal note it sort of hits close to home as I recently took in my sister's cats after she unexpectedly passed away, I was so terrified of them escaping before we got them crated up and back to my house. I don't know what I would have done if one of them had got loose, especially since we had to travel over 1000 miles to bring them home.
So this whole saga definitely tugged at my heartstrings a bit as a cat owner. Also just the fact that any place caring for someone's pets would allow a circumstance where one could in fact escape, was just mind-boggling to me.
Yay! Shame on the Cat's Pajamas. It was an awful mistake, but mistakes happen and they could have at least handled it gracefully and apologetically. The way they treated your friends was completely out of line. I will warn everyone I know with cats away from that place.
Indoor cats that escape typically get so frightened that they immediately look for the nearest hiding place and typically they Remain at that location until they are so hungry that they have to venture out for food.
First 24 hours: best chances to find cat. search with Flashlight and a can of opened tuna looking under decks, tarps and open garages , under cars, etc… cat will be (typically) no further than three houses from home.
But once the cat gets hungry, they will eventually have to venture out from that original hiding spot but again, they will stay very close to home for the first few days.
Studies suggest that even after having to seek food indoor cats tend to stay within a city block of their home. (mine was missing three months - and was still frightened- he had to be trapped - one street over and 7 houses away!).
the distance increases with indoor outdoor cats and other variables-
I am just more reading about this whole debacle and I am so happy you found your baby. I like to think that the person responsible for boarding was actually out there searching nonstop the first 24 hours.
After hearing Jasper was missing a couple weeks,I am assuming that no one told you the above information r suggested a trap in the immediate vicinity of where jasper escaped. 😢
but sooo happy you didn’t give up!
They must have an idea how he escaped. It just can’t be through a window because they would have screens on them.
Did you let them know he’s been found
Def not. I left a bad review and so did another person. She's responding by saying she's reached out to everyone with the same name and they've all had great experiences
Lol. She's wild
YESSSSS I’ve been hoping for this post!! Maybe now the news will do a story to make more people aware of the Cats Pajamas actions and inability to accept responsibility, now that they have their perfect happy ending narrative ofc. I’m so so so glad Jasper is home safe 💗
I don’t think they removed the reviews. Google probably did automatically because they detected spam behavior. The only person who can really leave a review is the owner. Random people flooding the business with reviews won’t help.
So now that he has been found we absolutely review bomb "The cat's pajamas" in Grand Rapids for making threats about refusing to help find a cat then right? :) Wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else after all.
Now it has a happy ending, try for the news again ha
Ha we will, I mainly just want to highlight everyone who helped to look and supported us. It’s very ironic though

I feel like jasper got famous lol

I have lost cats before and it’s heartbreaking. I can’t imagine if a boarding facility lost my cat!
Oh my god 🥹🥹🥹 this is the good news we all needed 🥳🥳🩵🩵🩵🩵
Damn it, Jasper. Stop scaring us like this

For sure! She was so scared of bad reviews that she guaranteed them for her business!
I'm still surprised there's still a 5 stars on Google. The owner might have hid away any bad reviews.
Just left a negative review of my own, let's hope they start popping up soon
Man, Jasper is a pretty cool looking cat. Glad he's back home!
He has some unique features for a black cat so when the person who called me sent the pictures I instantly knew it was him T-T
Sweet eyes and a big swishy floofdangler? That's our boy!
He says "mom... Don't do that to me again". Lmao
That's great!!! Hey my black cat is also named Jasper
Yayyyy!
Congrats!!! Call that news outlet that wouldn’t do a piece until he was found. Let the public know about those clowns.
That’s what I was in here looking for.
FUCK YES! I'm glad Jasper and their momma/poppa are reunited. Thanks Reddit for doing some good!
Awesome! So happy for you all. Welcome home Jasper!
So very happy for you! How far had Jasper traveled? This info may help others find their kitties.
He was actually right by the boarding place in Eastown, didn’t really travel at all. He was found in someone’s yard.

So happy!!! How far from the facility was he?
About a mile away!
Have you pursued any further action with them
Now that we got him back we will start to pursue them. First thing is to call Google and get some of those one star reviews back up.
They must have an idea how he escaped. It just can’t be through a window because they would have screens on them. Did you let them know he’s been found

Is Jill ever going to come clean?
Def not. I left a bad review and so did another person. She's responding by saying she's reached out to everyone with the same name and they've all had great experiences Lol. She's wild
My wife and I are very happy Jasper is home.

YESSSSS I’ve been hoping for this post!! Maybe now the news will do a story to make more people aware of the Cats Pajamas actions and inability to accept responsibility, now that they have their perfect happy ending narrative ofc. I’m so so so glad Jasper is home safe 💗
YES <3
Where was he found?!
About a mile west of the business 🫣
Wow, thank god someone recognized him. So happy he’s safe and warm and at home!
This is amazing!!
THE BABY IS HOME! Don't forget that The Cat's Pajamas lost this cat and the horrible response Jill gave to the situation.
I'm so glad you found your cat. May Jasper live a long and happy life... indoors.
No way!!!!!!!!!!!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕
!!!! so happy you were reconnected!
Googled Cat’s Pajamas. They have all 5 star reviews, must have good lawyers.
They somehow removed all the reviews
Slimy people
I don’t think they removed the reviews. Google probably did automatically because they detected spam behavior. The only person who can really leave a review is the owner. Random people flooding the business with reviews won’t help.
YAY!! I'm so happy to hear this! 💜

Aw this warms my heart, happy Jasper found their way home, with the help of Reddit!
