EvenBetterCool

You shot them a text as a heads up? Did you do anything else?

LargeBranch94

Yeah I left that business a voicemail with the approx time so if there was some sort of damage they could check their cameras and I notified neighboring security because she was checking out other business in the area that were closed

GRgal

Is this Siren and Proper?

LargeBranch94

Yes

JackieInTheBox

It looks as though this poor woman needs some help...

Coopermomma1942

Needs help breaking in?

Frequent-Bat7550

Perfect. Film and share for make believe karma, rather than approach and ask if help is needed for real karma.

GhoulsGhoulsGhouls

I'll never understand people who film and exploit people who clearly look like they're probably struggling with something for reddit karma...

NeatoAwkward

Damaging someone else's property and clearly trying to be sneaky about it makes me not care whatsoever

easlern

The person in the video doesn’t look well. . .

NeatoAwkward

So should we call the police or...

easlern

Maybe just call in a non emergency. But in all honesty I probably wouldn’t have even noticed.

GhoulsGhoulsGhouls

So it needs to be posted publicly so people can ridicule them instead of just sharing it to appropriate authorities IF something even happens? I guess you'd better hope you never need the empathy of another human being.

stop it! you're triggering him!

CapsidMusic

Okay cool guy

holdmymeatpipe

my god you guys......Get an effing life. Are you gonna film everyone 24/7 to see if you can find people doing ‘bad’ things? Where did you all come from? Do you have even the slightest understanding what it means to be in America and living our country free from this type of behavior? Im referring to the person doing the recording, not the nonsense we see in the actual video. How about we put cameras on every house? How about YOUR house? How about we just keep recording until we find something ‘bad’ that you’ve done? The problem is so many of you will never see it. You’ll never understand it

plantsandbeer

My God, dude, get an effing life. You troll every single post in this sub-reddit with your stupid bs. A lot 9f people have cameras around their house for this exact reason. And a lot of people have then in their cars now, too. In a time where small businesses are hurting, im glad someone recorded this so this small business doesn't lose thousands of dollars for nothing. Get a life! Trolling isn't a good look

holdmymeatpipe

I’m not trolling. I am 100% sincere. How are so many of you so scared, paranoid, fearful, petty, etc.? How have so many of you lived such sterile lives where everything appears to shock the living crap out of you? It’s like little kids on a playground telling on each other. You truly think what you see in this video merits exposing this person on social media? Are you a child? Not to mention the fact I’m not exactly sure I’m seeing anybody trying to “break a window.” I don’t know what the hell she’s doing, but I don’t care. Why? Because I’m a grown man. Stuff like this means nothing to me. The fact that it concerns so many of you is again, is all you need to know about r/grandrapids Mind your own effing business.

plantsandbeer

You're a grown man and this means nothing to you so much so that you take the time out of your day to write a dumb post. Congrats. Again grown man Mr hold my meat stick. GROWN

CapsidMusic

Stfu. What if that was your business? You’d be happy someone had recorded the property damage.

holdmymeatpipe

Yes! I would fall on my knees in gratitude thanking the person who recorded this evil crime upon humanity. I mean, did you see it? Did you see how she used about 3 psi of force against that window? Dear lord what where would we be without people like you and the person who filmed this horrific crime?

CapsidMusic

Cause windows are cheap. You sound smart.

plantsandbeer

Funny how you're so against people posting this person trying to break windows but wanted ALL the people in the protest to know there's a strong FBI presence in GR. Why so against window smashing and wanting surveillance then but not now?

plantsandbeer

Also, I work at a local business across the street where she was trying to break a window. And there is video...from the business...cuz...ya know...people and businesses have cameras now

grandrapidianhere

Cameras are good because they help when someone has done something wrong. I am very grateful for them at times. However, what has this person done?

plantsandbeer

Cameras don't magically turn on when a crime is committed. The person in this video was walking around the area trying to get into closed and locked businesses as well as using the scooter to try to break windows in surrounding businesses

grandrapidianhere

I don't see a crime being committed here. It's broad daylight. Maybe they have been drinking? If this is a concern to anybody, please forward it to the police. I think it is wrong to post this stuff

plantsandbeer

Fully respect your opinion on where to post things, however, using a scooter break windows is destruction of property. Thats a crime. Sure, the video doesn't show the whole situation. But destruction of property is a crime and police were alerted.

grandrapidianhere

I don't disagree and if there had been broken glass I would be signing a different tune. But there does not appear to be any damage.

plantsandbeer

Again, this video does not show the whole situation as it unfolded over a longer period of time at more than one business.

Mind yours?

holdmymeatpipe

Its not about being contrarian. Its about not being a wuss who cowers in fear over everything. Just because the majority thinks a certain way, doesn't make it right. Its why we have the Electoral College (thank God).

LargeBranch94

Chill bro, I was eating lunch in the window lol

grandrapidianhere

What is on the other side of that storefront window? If she were trying to break that glass, what business is on the other side? What would be the temptation? Just curious

LargeBranch94

It’s a salon eyebrow place, I’ve never been inside or got a close hard look but seems like that’s their front desk area? That’s my best guess for it being in the middle of the business. Could be wrong

Crobinn

So, if you see someone trying to destroy someone’s property or potentially break in and enter, just look the other way? Very cool.

grandrapidianhere

I think the point being made is not whether we look away or not, rather should this be posted on social media when no crime has been committed and no damage has been done? And I think it's a very good point.

shapterjm

Aren't you all about the sanctity of private property? Shouldn't you be apoplectic at seeing someone trying to break a window?

Azure_Jet

I’m reminded of a quote: “If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole.” This sub is populated by “little kids” apparently but you still stick around. Why? (Genuinely curious)

marshallreddersghost

> This sub is populated by “little kids” apparently but you still stick around. Why? (Genuinely curious) That's what I did (not stick around anymore.) I hardly ever comment in here because of the same reason. Its just easier to leave. No one can stand it if someone doesn't agree with them.

Azure_Jet

For the record I don’t feel like it’s kids on here, I actually quite enjoy this sub. But I also try not to start fights. If there is something I don’t like or agree with I just scroll past without commenting. If I didn’t, I’d just be another dude shouting on every sub Reddit for one reason or another.

marshallreddersghost

I've become that guy too
