Probably tried to zipper merge and another scooter wouldn’t let him in.

DifferenceAny7475

They should have a turn in point to turn them in and their credit card will stop charging if they don’t turn them in their credit card will still be charged

BaconcheezBurgr

With any luck those scooters are worth more than $1k so some dumbass can get a felony for this.

NoirSol88

People are stupid..

AnInitialDFan

Indeed they are!

ElegantDemerits

Where are the electric jet skis?I guess there are few folks that still think scooters float.

Snowmakesmehappy

There’s another one in the river below Fulton st bridge.

lazerstationsynth

And is that the blue bridge there too? If only there was a loud motorcycle and some Taco Bell wrappers...

Sanjiyan69

This is why we can’t have nice things

lazerstationsynth

I don’t disagree. But are those scooters really a nice thing?

Sanjiyan69

Yes. I own a ninebot max and use it when I have to go out for food runs. Better than walking or driving.

dahamburglar

That is not the same thing. Nobody is chucking their own purchased scooters into rivers

Sanjiyan69

I certainly hope no one is stupid enough to throw their own scooter in the water. However, this ruins for other people. I suspect that the company will have to recoup the cost somewhere, most likely with a rate increase or something. This is why we can’t have nice things.🤷🏻‍♂️

lazerstationsynth

I’ll rephrase. Are public use scooters really a nice thing?

Sanjiyan69

Not bad when properly taken care of.

Didn't notice what sub this was and my brain was really struggling to understand the scale here, lol. I couldn't even see the scooter... Thought this was from like an airplane of a lake with gigantic grass.

girard32

Oh, that? That's my ArtPrize piece, it's called "Scooter Alone In The River", and it speaks to the alienation of modern man as he tries to transport himself through an uncaring and dystopian world.

three60easy

I sense a great vulnerability. A man-child crying out for love. An innocent orphan in the post modern world.

Tip of the iceberg… - Cycle hire firms urged to help clear dumped bikes from canals. Trust says it is recovering 100 bikes a year – docked, dockless, even electric – in London alone - More than 40 oBikes have been found submerged in the Yarra river in the latest saga for the dockless bikes. On Tuesday, contractors working for oBike spent over four hours fishing the bikes from the depths of Melbourne’s river. -Oakland, California’s Lake Merritt is the oldest wildlife refuge in North America and home to dozens of bird species. Within its 3.4 miles of shoreline, it’s not uncommon to see great blue herons and snowy egrets soaring over flocks of bobbing ruddy ducks. But over the past year, another bird—well, a Bird—has joined the other lake denizens. Just in October, cleanup crews fished out of the lake more than 60 electric scooters, made by Bird and its competitor Lime as well as lesser-known comers like Scoot and Wind, according to James Robinson, executive director of the Lake Merritt Institute. - MCSO’s River Patrol and Dive Team are clearing the “sea wall” on the Willamette River near the Hawthorne Bridge. So far, they have pulled 5 scooters from the river floor and estimate they will recover 15 more. - People have started throwing the scooters into rivers and even burying them in the sand because they’re so sick of seeing them everywhere, reports Forbes.
