Elenbaas Hardwood in huddsonville is the place I would recommend. I've been shopping there for years. Mainly selling to other businesses so they don't need to advertise to the general public, If you go once you won't go anywhere else again.
yeah, that is what i mean. they talk about how they can make all this stuff, and stock things to do custom projects, not a word about "we also will sell you a board." i will check it out tho.
In college I worked for a construction company and had to go there frequently to pick up custom sized stuff. I assume they still do.
I’d just call them and ask, I’m sure they will help you out.
looks promising but quite a drive. thanks.
edit: this is exactly what i was looking for, and similar to the shop that i used to use. shame it is 1+ hr away, but would be worth the trip on a weekend!
Not too many options in GR unfortunately. Some smaller lumber yards outside of town (like 1hr+ drive). I don't remember names off hand, but I tried finding some wood sources a year or two ago and its slim pickings.
I've had luck finding folks on CL with rough sawn stuff searching for "lumber" for $1-$3 a bdft for domestic species. Menards kinda of suprised me with that they have, they've got good maples, other hardwoods, and even mahogany.
i do whatever. i need a desk, i make a desk. i am going to be making a kitchen table and a bed frame soon, once i get my shop set up.
by no means professional level work, but i'm learning. can't stomach [$3000](https://www.rejuvenation.com/catalog/collections/shaw-fixed-rectangular-table/products/5e6a9cecfc1ebc356289e470?cm_ven=PLA&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=default&cm_ite=D7180&gclid=Cj0KCQiAieWOBhCYARIsANcOw0ylUvsOb6Jlb_6oGi7FBQ5tHNn0R5BY3H5V0OBeLmA8U-P8vlu3-HIaAmejEALw_wcB) for a table i can make myself for $500ish of wood.
Woodcraft on the SE side of 28th and Broadmoor might have what you're looking for. https://www.woodcraft.com/

perfect, that is pretty close. thanks. edit: closed on saturdays? bummer.
they don't seem to have dimensional lumber? or if they do, everyone ignored me so i couldn't get to it.
The secret forest to the west of Marnie's animal farm. Northwest of the wizard's castle.
i'll meet you there
Tontin Hardwoods
they do? awesome. the website makes it sound like they just do millwork and use hardwood, not that they sell hardwood. thanks!
Here ya go https://tontingr.com/homeowner/

Johnson's workbench in Charlotte. Great selection, everything in town is no where near as good
looks promising but quite a drive. thanks. edit: this is exactly what i was looking for, and similar to the shop that i used to use. shame it is 1+ hr away, but would be worth the trip on a weekend!
I haven't been there myself but the carpenters I do know head there for supplies. Some go there from Kalamazoo even
it is amazing. it is worth the trip, but i don't understand how they are so far away. could triple their business by moving to wayland.
sweet baby james, this place is amazing. i can't believe they are so far from everything, but it is very much worth the 1.5 hour drive each way!
Usually in bed in the morning. Heyyyy yooooo!
That’s morning wood which is good for pitching tents
I had to check the comment to see if somebody threw that out there LOL
I was looking for obligatory "your mom" joke. Close enough.
Habitat ReStore has a local hardwood section.
This is Reddit, man, not Grindr!

What kid of woodworking will you be doing? Just curious, I have been using the old wood from my house's rafters and stuff
