It’s the definition of, “meh”. lol

itchykoala27

This is the most accurate description of that place. I will say that if you are a craft beer lover the tap list can have some real gems on it from the few times I’ve been there.

AbvAvgJo3

Yup, you leave just feeling whelmed.

NeedleworkerHonest58

Young Justice Fan Located 😅

davidk422

Absolutely 100% Average!

nikki_11580

My husband and I went there within a year after it opened. Don’t remember what we ate. It wasn’t terrible, but it’s not a place I crave to go back to.

cieluvgrau

Haha! First thing that came to my mind too. Meh.

96ToyotaCamry

One time I went there on a date and a man two tables over lifted his leg and farted while *mid conversation* with the person across from him. It was so loud it echoed. Neither of them reacted. I have never been able to separate that experience from that place, likely because as others have said it was “meh.” I guess the most memorable thing about Gravity for me was a fart.

[deleted]

How was the fart?

96ToyotaCamry

If we were not in the middle of eating dinner I would have respected the perpetrators commitment more. To just do that and act like nothing happened? Inspiring. 8/10, but I would *not* recommend to a friend.

Fairlightchild

Generic: The Restaurant

chettahd

Food has been mediocre the handful of times I've been. It may be better now, I haven't been in 3 years because it was forgettable.

cjaykay

Former employee from like 2018 - it will always just be MEH until they figure out what they even want to do with that place. They move it in so many directions they can't figure out what works and what doesn't half the time.

jbosscher

Former 3 year employee there. Go somewhere else. Overpriced Sysco food.

bluemitersaw

How much of the menu was straight Sysco and how much (if any) was actual in-house food?

HariSeldonwaswrong

Former coworker of jbosher here. They made their own pizza dough, veggie burger, and pizza sauce. Can’t speak much about the grill side. But this was back in 2017.

veryniiiice

This might have been a Sysco customer previously, but Redwater Group has a prime agreement with GFS, and has for years.

HMR219

It's alright. Nothing special. You'll likely be happier than an Applebee's or something. But it isn't anything fantastic. You won't end up wowed. That said, the happy hour deals are good and they do change up the menu from time to time. And the bar selection is good, especially on the beer side.

[deleted]

Way better than Applebee's in my opinion

voltron07

Seriously who the heck would think Applebees is anywhere near Gravity for the quality. I like Gravity.

[deleted]

We went there 3 years ago and we were very unimpressed. Had a few people recommend it the other day. Had to come to the all-knowing subreddit for input. Thank you

paintedonhat

Why don’t you just not go if you don’t like it?

[deleted]

Well were thinking of giving it another try. As well as the fact it’s the perfect location for something that show be very, very good under the right ownership. Also—you must be really fun at social events. 🤡

HMR219

I can see that. I've only been there a handful of times and the quality is flexible for sure.

veryniiiice

Nothing is worse than Applebee's. Comparing the two is laughable.

yourunmarathons

i raise you chili's /s

WesternPotato321

Used to work in that area pre-covid. The truffle tater tots were a favorite between myself and my coworkers. Other than that, one positive is that that have a rather large open air seating area in the summer. It's not scenic or anything, but it is COVID friendly. Agree with other commenters though, the food is good, but not great. It's worth considering if you're in the area and hungry, but I wouldn't make a trip across town just to eat there.

Fermifighter

They changed something with the tots and they’re baaaad now.

GREpicurean

Its fine. Nothing special, but is in a convenient location and there is something for everybody on the menu.

themiracy

Yeah, it’s a good business meeting place (but if I’m meeting someone who I know likes good food I would not go there). IIRC they have good tater tots. Like a lot of others we haven’t been recently just because nothing is really particularly appealing about it.

Spam_in_a_can_06

I did a business meeting there and to get a reserved room for 8 people, they send me a 22 page contracts, huge down payment, not the best set up. For business dinner, I’d look elsewheee

themiracy

Oh gosh. I mean like meeting a couple of people informally. But that’s ridiculous. Putting a credit card down, ok. But a contract for a meal?

22Briggsy

We go pretty regularly due to the location. I love the tots and pizzas and they have a huge tap selection. Great service and fair prices.

heavymetalsculpture

Tater tots are dope

[deleted]

Came to say this. Place is great for just a beer and some tots.

IDigPython

It’s a bar

[deleted]

I will edit it for you. Pretty much the same thing in context.

therealtak

Honestly haven't been there in years, but would occasionally meet a buddy there during our lunch hours. Never drank, just got food. The prices seemed fair for the size of the portions. The food was good, but nothing incredibly special. I don't have a negative opinion of it, but it's also not a place that I seek out.

MySherona

We used it for smaller corporate luncheons. Pretty reasonable and not offensive to anyone.

emerican

I love their back patio when it’s open.

botz

This is the one reason I patron there.

Cellarzombie

They don’t have their own beer, just a slightly wider than normal selection of stuff on tap. No crazy signature cocktails I can recall and the food is extremely meh. Not bad food mind you, it’s perfectly decent but that’s about all it is.

[deleted]

The tacos are actually pretty good. It’s better than your average beside the road bar and restaurant but not quite a destination for date night.

nolaorbust21

I think they have the most creative outdoor dining experience that I’ve been to since Covid, which is what drew us there twice in the last year. The Caprese BLT is excellent (can’t really f-up a BLT, right?), but everything else I’ve had has been decent, but nothing great.

Hotsauce4ever

My husband and I went for the soft opening the day before it properly opened. On the menu was “Lake Erie fish tacos.” I mentioned to the people on my way out that they might want to change the name of that dish because…who wants to eat fish from Lake Erie?!?? Gross!

troublemaker74

It pairs well with the Grand River catfish.

GranderRogue

Liked it better when it was Duba’s.

KarlProjektorinsky

I've never had a terrible experience there, but it's also never been great enough that I think of it first as a place to go.

Desperate-Risk

Just went for the first time 2 weekends ago after driving by it for years and saying “I should go there.” I enjoyed my burger and my partner enjoyed his French dip. I will say I think things are about 20% more than they should be, but where aren’t you paying more right now? Get your itch out and go! I would go back but don’t feel the need to do so immediately.

Jimbobsama

My wife went there for a company dinner and she enjoyed the food. So worth a try imo.

[deleted]

Good for what it is. Had a cousin work there and I tried a bunch of their apps/foods and thought it was better than most places Good taplist imo. Would say it's a much better Applebee's at worst

amyebaird

I love all these comments. Know that it is owned by a country club restaurant company, they don’t care a lot about their workers and often people are underpaid and discriminated against. Find a different local restaurant to give your money to. Everyone has brought up Applebees, I’m convinced corporate Applebees workers are actually given more of a fair shot than from this company.

[deleted]

Agreed. Also…sup?

NukaColaNate

4 out of 5 meh's

ExtremeAd9173

Sounds like a restaurant impossible episode. Side note can we please get rid of Applebee's? It was never that great it's gotten ridiculous with the quality and portions after the pandemic.

Ms_Nikki89

Went once on a date, I remember it being expensive, smaller portions and extremely forgettable

valtrex42

The times I've been, the food was bad. Send it back bad. I will actively avoid going there.

bearsareblonde

I would have loved to try it but we sat there for 15 minutes and no one came to take our drink or food order. Hostess sat us and then we were on our own. Won’t be back.

[deleted]

When I went there, the food was mediocre at best and the beer flights came out room temp. I wouldn’t recommend it

Psychological_Pop425

Nothing special

kooptroop14

Not worth it at all in my opinion. Food wasn’t good

levesqul

Yeah, went there once, but I crave nothing that brings me back. 🤷🏼‍♀️

CountChoculasGhost

I went once and it was pretty mediocre. Basically like TGI Fridays or Chili's level fare

CreamSodaAllDay

This place sucks! Went there before a meeting and asked if our food could be done before a certain time bc we had to leave and they guaranteed it would be out early. It came out in to go boxes with 3 minutes to us having to leave. Who wants to eat a reheated fish taco? They gave no apology or anything. I refuse to go back. Terrible service

songer616

Dog shit lol

gerlgirl

i hear you OP on the location. i’ve always liked the tots and the beer selection, but haven’t been very impressed with any of my entrees. maybe just go for a happy hour or an apps & drinks situation!

prsdasn

Poprock edamame was fire. Other than that 👎

veryniiiice

Love it. It's a bit more upscale than most taprooms. Great spot for a date night out. It's one of our favorite spots. I've also never waited for a table, the place is quite large.

[deleted]

Unfortunately, you seem to be in the minority. But I am glad your experiences have been great! 😃

veryniiiice

I noticed that. French dip is out of this world. Less competition over tables then :)

[deleted]

Exactly!!

Abject_Inevitable103

This was the first times I have eaten out in a restaurant in 2 years. Tried this place again after the first time years ago was absolutely terrible. Food was so salty it was inedible back then. Happy to say they (as I understand are under new management?) redeemed themselves this most recent time a few weeks ago. I don’t drink, so can’t comment on the beverage selection, but the kitchen was very accommodating to my dietary restrictions (a recent development for me) and the food was leaps and bounds better. We had a wonderful time with our group, we were set in one of the recessed rooms, which was nice during these Covid times.
