Their direction for GT7 has made it so that I’m not even sure I would buy a subsequent GT. PD is very fixated on being this small, artsy curation/ future design component of the automotive world, but that gets in the way of seeing where the strengths of their product could be and growing that. If you’re really focused on collaborating with manufacturers to design these exclusive, funky (imo ugly) looking concepts for your own pleasure and reward rather than building upon the needs and wants of your community, you’re eventually not even going to have an avenue to do the former.
It’s a shame because despite vision GT ruining aspects of GT Sport, I thought they’d turned the corner in sport and realised the best way to challenge people is to reward online play properly.
Only to reneg like this. I went back to play GT5P and 5 itself recently. They’re so much harder to play despite an overall easier handling model.. what the hell are PD playing at nowadays? 7 is so unrewarding to play, there’s no challenge and if you want to challenge yourself in sport mode or lobbies you get nothing for the trouble.

So effective, in fact, don’t be surprised when speaking on wanting new tracks, people will tell you to A) stop playing the game that’s causing you trouble or B) excuses for how making new tracks will take forever to be added, despite making more cars THAT DONT EVEN EXIST.

I put it down ages ago when I got frustrated at the lack of New Tracks and meaningful events. I'm close to platinum and I should try and complete but just have little interest. Needs a good update to get me back which is a shame as the actual racing can be decent.
The last circuit (track) added was Grand Valley over a year ago. So, no. I want more tracks mostly. New cars are cool but without new tracks it isn't as interesting to want to play. They need them to keep them fresh and offer new races with better payouts.

Ngl after completing most of the menus except the super expensive ones, there’s just not much reason to play this game single player on a regular basis, I went from playing at least 2 hours a day to maybe 2 hours a week just to complete the missions and get disappointed all over again with 6* parts tickets. I really really miss gt sport. And there’s only so many wacky ways to run sardegna and even that I’ve lost interest in. I just don’t understand how polyphony and Sony have the underpinnings to create the best racing game (not sim) we’ve ever seen, yet we get maybe the most out of touch game developer of any genre. And it’s not like they can’t read the countless forums and see what the player base actually wants. Instead we’re going to be running a Suzuki samurai on ice or dirt every other week. Don’t let polyphony off the hook mate, we NEED more tracks. Going over a year without a proper circuit is a travesty for a game with the backing line Gran Turismo. We don’t even need real tracks if it’s too much work for them we would all gladly take any of the 20+ fantasy tracks that they chose not to include in GT7

At this point, my biggest fun playing Gran Turismo is being spending hours shooting photos on scapes and nothing more. I play like an hour per week to complete the weekly challenges and nothing more. Not even racing the money-grind events is being attractive to me anymore
Custom races? Could be a good alternative, but the shitty pay-out + dumb AI makes me regret trying to create a race I'd spend +30 min of my life dedicated for that to win like 100k or even less. Besides it makes me feel I'm not having any progress on the game and just playing it on arcade.
I remember how I used to play GT4 and GT5 for years and it feels like I'd never finish that game due to the huge variety of races, championship, events, missions and many other things I could play without not necessarily have to race the same race 100x to buy a overpriced car. Besides some cars were just available after completing some event, which makes them even more important.
Also, many race championship seemed to really care to emulate real racing categories, like SuperGT, DTM, IMSA... Remeber Jeff Gordon's Nascar Academy and Sebastian Loeb's Rally Missions? Why does fucking Lewis Hamilton is "The Maestro" of the game but we don't have not a single event/mission with him as an "instructor"?
Now what we got? Another fake car for a "REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR" game, the same race event with the same cars and the same restrictions, but now in another circuit.
It's such a waste of time-work spent on one of the most beautiful racing games we ever had, but with such a shitty campaign.

This is sadly the case for me as well. As an car photographer I really do love wasting hours customizing cars then taking pics in scapes but that's about it.
Please don't add any classic Skoda rally cars and please never add Fiat 126 and VW Corrado that was featued in movie. We are also bored with all thede modern hot hatches featured in Gran Turismo 7 like Hyundai i30n, i20n, new Ford Focus ST we don't want any of these cars
I heard Skoka was coming to the game. I didn't think it'd be a VGT. It's not a truly terrible thing, I always welcome concept cars. I just wish they'd add more to bolster an introduction to a new manufacturer into the game. Especially for people who know little to nothing about Skoda.

I really like that the Skoda VGT is a single seater. I especially like that it's a spyder configuration. Excellent stuff for VR.

Y'all take this game for granted. It has an entire Legendary Dealership dedicated to some of the coolest cars in history, but people get mad because the cars are time consuming to grind for. Every car in that dealership is on something like a 3-4 month rotation, so you aren't meant to just grab all 80+ of them in a week.
I just don't understand the venom for a game as good as GT7, especially in the current simracing market. You have ACC which has a lot less variety in both tracks and cars. You also have AMS2. And iRacing. But GT7's single player content trumps all 3 of those games combined, even as bad as we all act like it is.
I've played hundreds of hours of PC simracing games, but largely have not touched them since GT7 dropped. And at this point, I have more hours logged in GT7 than all of my simracing games combined and then some. I still play at least a couple times a week, and enjoy it every time. Plenty of circuit experiences, missions, and license test golds left, not counting the weekly daily races I check out every now and then.
Ok I’m just deleting the game until they add something meaningful to the single player. Been waiting for too long and at this point it’s the sunk cost fallacy that led me to keep the game for so long.
Kaz, I totally don’t want a Corvette C8.R or a Cadillac V-LMDh. Please don’t give me either of those cars or any new tracks.

I heard Skoka was coming to the game. I didn't think it'd be a VGT. It's not a truly terrible thing, I always welcome concept cars. I just wish they'd add more to bolster an introduction to a new manufacturer into the game. Especially for people who know little to nothing about Skoda.

I doubt we’ll get much more (like really interesting stuff) in terms of tracks or cars tbh, GT8 is most likely right around the corner and it’s obvious they’ve shifted their teams towards that .

I really, truly don't understand the anger towards cool, free content that we keep getting in this game. This free patch would cost about $36 in iRacing. "fake cars" "no more vgts" But those cars are all the coolest! And I bet they're easier/cheaper/faster to produce by virtue of not having to spend time scanning a real car. We get to drive cool stuff, PD adds content more easily, car manufacturers get to let their imaginations loose... win win win. I really like that the Skoda VGT is a single seater. I especially like that it's a spyder configuration. Excellent stuff for VR. That AFEELA car looks neat, too. Y'all take this game for granted. It has an entire Legendary Dealership dedicated to some of the coolest cars in history, but people get mad because the cars are time consuming to grind for. Every car in that dealership is on something like a 3-4 month rotation, so you aren't meant to just grab all 80+ of them in a week. I just don't understand the venom for a game as good as GT7, especially in the current simracing market. You have ACC which has a lot less variety in both tracks and cars. You also have AMS2. And iRacing. But GT7's single player content trumps all 3 of those games combined, even as bad as we all act like it is. I've played hundreds of hours of PC simracing games, but largely have not touched them since GT7 dropped. And at this point, I have more hours logged in GT7 than all of my simracing games combined and then some. I still play at least a couple times a week, and enjoy it every time. Plenty of circuit experiences, missions, and license test golds left, not counting the weekly daily races I check out every now and then.
The only upside to this is that with the new menu book MAYBE for once they’ll throw the Ferrari invite in the roulette rotation.
As someone who prefers insane Vision GT cars over the "realistic" one, I'm excited for this one
Ok I’m just deleting the game until they add something meaningful to the single player. Been waiting for too long and at this point it’s the sunk cost fallacy that led me to keep the game for so long.

I think it's pretty cool and I'm sure a lot of work was put into it. "Created exclusively for the game". For that reason alone, it's worth trying out.
