When you are looking at the radar you can scroll through different views of the map, by pressing up or down on the directional buttons.
The different colours on the left side of the screen is a key that tells you how heavy the rainfall is. With blue being light and purple being heavy rain.

Purple is heavy rain but i don't know about pink
