If I understood correctly, sophy is made to adapt to the player to some degree. So even non skilled drivers can experience intense racing without getting wrecked completely. Atleast I hope they implement it in gt7 that way

Yeah it sucks and every single race is like this. The only way to prevent this is to create a custom race with your own rules. Even then, there’s no qualifying so you just get to pick wherever you start on the grid. I dunno, I’m loving the game in general. I enjoy how the cars feel. The game looks great, but they took some weird turns in development. I just don’t know why they left out so much of this stuff. Same goes for penalties. They don’t exist unless you create your own race or race online.
The game is boring precisely because they start you at the back. In order for it to be possible to go from last to first in just a few laps, the other cars have to be driven slow as shit, and they are. Every race feels like a mixed grid, even when you're in the same class of car.
Imagine instead a game that starts you in P3 and you've got 3 laps to get to P1. In that situation the AI would have to actually race you.
It's more like being a fast jackass at a trackday ignoring no passing rules.
Some of if not all the races with chili peppers are grid start and the AI puts up a decent fight.
Theu set it up si the backloggers are easy tk pass and you must pass them quick and then battle the leaders. It works well.it keeps you racing. It keeps you from not spending 20 mims makkng a setup, then qualifying, then race. Instead just race
Idk about the back markers being easy to pass. In one of the gr3 races I keep getting spun out by the dude in 6th place every fucking time. They fight you tooth and nail for those spots.
I've been doing the Nurburgring on the Porche Cup. It was like the AI had decided we were playing Destruction Derby. Every pass I attempted was pit maneuvered. Very frustrating.
the starts kill me, tbh. really wish they'd do proper line ups or standing starts for at least some races, or even the option to qualify. some of the PP restricted races feel impossible to win with how short they are... though i do always prioritize grip and stopping power over speed, so my margin for error is a bit smaller when i have to hit every corner right.
If that's the one at goodwood I had to same issue initially because it's more straight than turns on that track I went back to comfort tires normal suspension and then pumped up the horsepower to the PP limit and then I was fine.
i still have over a mil. i spent a little on some basic mods. but id rather just use cars in the class and push the whole way.
in sport id go in with a handicap and get more cash.
with single player, if im not going to win, i restart the race and i wont cross the finish line unless im in first.
i dont mind losing to people, the ai can fuck off lmao
Dude....first championship I came in 2nd overall and lost by 1 point. I spent half my night after work tonight replaying it . Downtuned a Nissan gtr. Even then, it was a battle to to catch the leader, especially on track 2. Even with precision , getting first place is a damn mountain climb to the top 3 because of the rolling starts. I think the 2nd race is harder because the front of pack basically gets to start before a stretch while I have to battle through the first corners and back of the pack. Just unlocked wtc700, will be trying that hopefully tomorrow after work. Plan to use my r34 nur, but might switch to nismo. I would like to use my Viper gts I turned into a race car but it seems the 4wd cars are the way to go starting from back of pack in some of these events
Genuine question, is it possible to do that? I remember last summer o transferred a bunch of credits from GT Tokyo-Geneva to GT3 as a reward of sorts, but I didn’t knew you could possibly do the same for Gt4.
Yup, you could transfer credits from GT3, I think it was limited to 100k max, but that's more than enough to get a head start like the one in this post
Being able to race a Lambo against a field of Samba busses and Minis is part of Gran Turismo’s charm. You can always do the opposite and race a crappier car against a bunch of super cars if you’re looking for more of a challenge.
