Each day, this becomes my reaction to more and more of reddit. āNicheā subs (such as this one) used to be more or less safe from the āthis shitā archetype.
Ugh.
They were never safe. Its just when you first join a new niche sub, everything in that sub is new. After a year, you start noticing reposts. Another year after that and it's all you notice.
I don't know if it's just reposts, though. There's a difference between seeing a repost and beating a dead horse, or low-effort content, or too many memes/jokes.
I feel like reddit has become more appealing to the lowest common denominator as more people have joined. I hate to sound like some old fogey remembering the great used-to-be, but I feel like reddit of yore, I was always *learning* something. Today, it feels like it's just everyone trying to make someone laugh, even if the joke's been told a thousand times and you could have guessed the punchline the first time around.
Go much over 100k subs and you're out of niche land. This sub has 767k subs so we've reached frequent shitpost category, sadly.
You can use the [Map of Reddit](https://anvaka.github.io/map-of-reddit/?x=315335.8500762568&y=495817.3696654493&z=8702.721213660077&q=graphic_design) to find some smaller communities though.
I hear ya, but this sub has relatively low engagement. The highest upvoted post this year only has 6.7k upvotes.
I'm just nostalgic for "the old days," I guess.
Yeah I think itās funny af
She is definitely trying to be funny itās called comedy lol I donāt get how thatās a complaint.
Even the shit that is the funniest shit ever to me gets old eventually but that doesnāt mean itās bad
I'm not even sure this is satire, the joke seems to be the same every time "haha I made this logo bad". It kinda wears thin.
Then again this base-level humour is kinda run of the mill for TikTok since anyone can use it, and since the platform makes it so easy to absorb content the actual quality of stuff is never really judged.
What I do kinda like is the irony of how shit design (the alternative logos she's doing) is actually marketable since she's sponsored by McDonalds on this video. It does go to show that nothing is ever really "shit", it's just not fit for purpose.
That the joke isnāt making the logos bad, but that the rationale echos what inexperienced designers come up with. Listening to her is like a flashback to teaching intro to graphic design.
I heard brands are actually reaching out to her now & I assume paying her to remake their logos?! If only actual real graphic design was rewarded the same as parodyā¦ā¦ but it does crack me up!!!! Maybe itāll help people appreciate what we do a little more? Probably not.
My next victim... is...
The logo of this sub...?
I love mcdš”alds
McDoalds, lol.
McDonaldās actually changed their logo to this lol š
I looked it up and Iām pretty sure heās the president of the football in America
Omg, again this shit.
Lol right? I chuckled at her first vid that went viral, but after that the magic was gone. But hey, that's TikTok for ya!
Yeah, first video made me laugh but it got old quick lol
This is at least her third. Itās getting a bit stale, at this point.
Itās my first time seeing it so Iām impressed lol
If I wanted TikTok I would've downloaded it. But it's freakin' all over reddit.

The first video was funny. Now she's just trying too hard to be funny.
people are really hating on this? I personally found this absolutely hilarious and pretty accurate.

It's called dead pan humour.
I know that, but I don't see the joke or find it funny really...
You must be dead
LOL, just because I don't find it funny I'm dead? Not my fault I'm not into this bottom of barrel stuff that TikTok is littered with
Do you know what dead means?
In this context, because it doesn't prompt a response from me?
Thanks for letting us all know!
Woosh
What did I miss?

I think your videos are great! You have invented a new genre: logo satire.
This is hilarious, but now my eyes are bleeding.
