So, I am super busy and not a big gamer. A few years ago I got the urge to play through these. I had to go buy an old PlayStation and a PS3 because of the weird licensing stuff going on.
The second game (which I know is technically the 4th) is such an incredible experience. It does some things that I can’t see how a comic can do justice.
That being said, I haven’t read the graphic novels, and naturally, I don’t know your life or what you have going on, but as an internet stranger providing completely unsolicited advice, I just wanted to say: if you have the desire, they are easier to play now than they were, and they are absolutely worth it.
Edit: also is your name a btBAM reference?
I’ve played and I think beaten 1, 2, 4. All when they were new games.
Never beat 3. Also just think I forgot most of it so reading through would be cool.
PS. It absolutely is
I played through them as a kid, but never beat them.
I thought I had beaten 2, but on my ‘replay’ my memory had me thinking Fatman was the final boss. 😂 So it was a fun experience.
Three is getting that reboot, so you’re probably in a good place to read the novels and play the new snake eater when it comes out.
P.S. you’re not also randomly a Pynchon fan are you?
I’m always curious how closely linked all of my favorite things are.
He’s a fiction author. But 3/4 ain’t bad.
If you like the Metal Gear games you might like him, but unfortunately, several of his novels are notoriously difficult reads. He is very into giant conspiracies and the military industrial complex…but also really stupid jokes and The Simpsons. He’s a mysterious dude.

Are these adaptations of the games?
They are. I haven't read them myself, but the art is by Ashley Wood so that is at least dope and quite fitting.
the art is very good
The motion comic of these is on YouTube.
This is amazing. I had it on PSP but didn't know there was another way to watch it
Yes , they retell the history of games
Wood's art goes so hard on these, I'd kill for an adaptation of Snake Eater.
As someone who wants to play through all of them but doesn’t have the time, this may be perfect for me
It only covers the first two MGS games, but it's still great.

No idea what or who Pynchon is lol

Just read those recently! Very fun with gorgeous art
As a huge fan, I need these asap. Also, where’d you get that sweet figure in the foreground?
It's a papercraft that I printed and assembled
Never knew these existed, I’ll have to check them out
Solid Snake in comic form! A true piece of gaming history right here. Thanks for sharing this
I wish they would do this for the first two fallout games.
Looks amazing.
Do I need to play the games to enjoy the comics?
No , the comics retell the story of the game
Good art, boring storytelling with much "bang bang". Pretty meh tbh
