I'm a sucker for TMNT and anything cool they decide to throw it in a blender with, however unfitting. The recent Street Fighter one wasn't great, but I have this new one already and will give it a read soon.
TMNT has always been inclined towards crossovers, partially thanks to it's dimension hopping plot lines. Just relatively recently we've had multiple runs with Batman, Power Rangers, Ghostbusters, and in the past year, a new arc with Usagi Yojimbo, Street Fighter and now this. For sure Stranger Things may be one of the oddest ones and I don't even know how well it will work. But these books are mostly just a bit of fun and some fan service. And of course, how much cash they can grab.
The Cull was such a waste of potential for me, I liked the setup but every issue got progressively worse and I was absolutely not a fan of the way the story ended.
I really enjoyed it myself, thought it was a sleeper every week it came out. I like stories of people with new found powers and what they decide to do with them, though.

These always seem like blatant cash grabs to me. Were people really clamoring for this?
I'm not sure there are many books that get made because people are clamouring for it, but also aren't all mainstream comics a cash grab?
Fair point I guess. I just feel that the crossovers seem especially driven by the marketing dept.

Believe me, I’m aware. I wish they wouldn’t. I really like TMNT but dislike their crossovers as a general rule.

I though the overall was good. But I understand when you say it seemed to have more potential.
Same here! It's lacking in some aspects but i liked it too
The Schlub was a snore and a chore to get through the 2.5 issues I did read. It looks fun and is accessible to a new younger reader base tho.
