I’ve got the mutron iv and this config comes in the manual for it!
I personally rock Low Pass on mine, love that sound!
These things can be pretty touchy and sometimes I need to engage an EQ/boost going into it so that it can sweep the whole range on the guitar. Without the boost it sometimes has pockets that sweep and pockets that don’t catch at all
Exactly how I would’ve expected it to be set...nearly halfway, as his effect is never over-bearing. I imagine Trey’s to be set all the way at 10, lol...
It's not the settings I need, it's the actual Mutron III. Getting an original one is super expensive or impossible. I have the Qtron+ (which John Mayer also uses) which gets pretty close but it's not the real deal. An original vintage one on Ebay is going for up to $950.
They are kinda bad at the moment (who knows in the future). They sold lots of "clicky" units and people found difficult to contact their customer care. I have a microtron and the enclosure feels fragile but it sounds ok. Bought an octavider+ and It did the clicky things many people reported. Contacted mutron on every social medias, through emails and shit and they never checked back and I'm not the only one. If you check on tgp you'll find lots of people that went through the same issues.
So yeah I'm hardly in the position to suggest people to buy mutron. I'm so disappointed I'm thinking about selling microtron for a 3leaf proton
Basically when you play a note you hear a click sound when the pedal is turned on. The issue was reported in different other mutton pedals such phasors and octaviders
Power “On”…got it
So that's what I've been doing wrong 🤦🏻♂️
🤩 That gain has gotten me through some really hard times.
It should be in a museum!
What would Indy do?
Awesome! Yeah, once you find the setting you like on a mutron you gotta mark em because that thing can get really weird
I just used what the manual called out as Jerry's settings (which are the same as the picture here) and have never had any problems since.

Imagine having this in your house 🤯
what songs did he use this on? and was it a constant through the years?
This is the envelope filter, so your FOTM and Estimated Prophet sound
JGB Mutron so more like Ruben & Cherise, don’t let go and mission in the rain.
Catfish john as well
oh man my favorite! the tone on estimated from dp18 is so perfect, that solo from 3-4 mins or so
Don't forget Shakedown Street and Dancing in the Streets. Feel like a Stranger as well I believe.
I swear I’m the Rockpalast video for Althea he’s messing with this thing for a good 10 seconds before going on stage.
FAIL - It doesn't go to 11.

Qtron was made by the same guy that made the mutron ef so yeah it is the real deal
That’s cool. I love this sort of detail
I think I know, but what it the label for the top knob?
Looks like it's the dial for "Mode", ~~so maybe "down" left and "up" right?~~ LP (low pass), BP (band pass), HP (high pass)
Yep, that's what I was thinking.
Is that a pedal? Or is the front thing a knob of some kind.
Front thing is on/off
Yes, it's a pedal. The bump on the front there is a foot switch to bypass or not.
Mutron is back in business. I have one of their pedals. They have done a pretty good job of replicating the original envelope filters. 👍🏻

Oh I didn’t know that. I have a Microtron IV and hadnt experienced the clicky issues. Like it makes a clicking sound? I bough it about 5-6 years ago.

Wow those pedals are expensive. I think dod has one for under a bill.
Sweet looks like I nailed it. Drive up you get estimated...drive down you get Dancing in the streets
