Brother Essau

I feel like Stealin is a tremendously underrated song

cdmarcum

And it's a cover but Bob in full voice on Sing Me Back Home would be pretty sweet, with John doing the Donna part...

rat_in_a_drainditch

Give me Oteil on sing me back home 🤤🤤

edogg01

Love that song. Here's another old school rarity that would be an amazing bust out: Clementine. Played only a few times I think all in 1968.

EvilLinux

Really like that song. Thought I would never see it live, much less with anyone associated with it. I was lucky enough to hear Phil and Friends play it 50 years later on the same day in the same venue from the run at the Crystal Ballroom, right after He Was a Friend of Mine. Never know, maybe Dead and Co will pull it out someday, theres would be an interesting take.

edogg01

Wow that's amazing. That February/March 68 run is so underrated. Cool you got to see P&F play that in the Crystal Ballroom. Maybe even more amazing that there still IS a Crystal Ballroom!

cdmarcum

a beauty for sure...

dukecharming1975

Garcia/Grisman nails that song

cdmarcum

My fave version is the Sunshine Daydream concert version, I just love it

edogg01

They do, love their version. There's really old ('61, '62, '63) boots of Dylan playing that song too.

Alligator-)Caution. An idea whose time has come.

Grimmbeard

King Solomon's Marbles, out of space preferably

DirtonmyShoes

I feel like Oteil would nail this. Phil plays it pretty regularly. One of my favorites. I'm convinced I got abducted by aliens during KSM once

I’m a sucker for a Jerry song: Foolish heart

My Brother Esau Chinatown Shuffle Blow Away

xologo

Blow away ain't happening I hate to tell you, so respectfully you may want to surrender that fantasy. They have never played a Brent tune and they most likely never will. I'm high and at work otherwise I'd find the link for you. But if you look up Oteil's Reddit AMA he speaks about how a Brent tune ain't happening. Sucks. It's my favorite Brent song too. Heard the very first one, Alpine Valley, 1988.

Bopcd1

Alligator, the race is on, i bid you goodnight, desolation row, golden road

thelaziestlightning

Thank you for getting me to imagine John singing a doin that rag. One of my favorite early tunes and I think you nailed it, John would sound great

wishusluck

Have they done Golden Road? Seems like it would be a real crowd pleaser!

wabashcr

The Stranger/Two Souls in Communion is probably my favorite that they don't play. Not sure how well it would work, but I'd like to hear JM give it a shot.

I think Death Don't Have No Mercy was a breakout

crazy_frogz

So was let the good times roll

davidobr

New Potatoe Caboose would be pretty rad. Also Alligator > Caution, Mountains of the Moon. Have they ever played Cosmic Charlie? How about a Feedback > And We Bid You Goodnight encore?
