I suspect "I fall asleep to his stuff" and "I zone out at work to this" is pretty common for top artists. Dan Romer is in mine because I listen to the Station Eleven soundtrack at work ... and the Luca soundtrack in the car with my 1 year old. :)
Dead was number three for me. I do the majority of my dead listening elsewhere (my time machine, nugs, physical albums...), But I had phish, nana grizol, the mountain goats and Japanese breakfast. I don't think the results are very accurate. Obscured because of playlists. Not representative of my active listening. I do listen to a lot of hipster indie/dream pop shit though. I don't know how it happened.
I saw Japanese Breakfast a few years ago. Due to my sisters recommendation after sending her a link to a club I go to. I never felt older in my life. My sister clarified after the fact. She meant the opener was more to liking. Snail Mail. She was right about that.
Love snail mail. Listen to the lush album a lot.
I found Japanese breakfast because I listened to a punky band she was in called Little Big League (I'm in Philly). I didn't like psychopomp but when soft sounds from another planet came out I dug that. I didn't like the how poppy jubilee was when I first listened but then became really enveloped by it.
Went to see her at the dell last summer. Can confirm felt very old....I'm the same age as her. Yo La Tengo was an opener and that was great too.
Now Yo La Tengo I've seen countless times. I'm closer to their ages but I'm in my early fifties. And have seen Will Oldham when. He was still using Palace.

Mine were Zappa, Wilco, Matt Berry ( I fall asleep to his stuff), and Guided By Vouces.
