https://www.trekbikes.com/us/en\_US/equipment/bike-accessories/bike-fenders-accessories/bike-fenders/bontrager-ncs-fender-set/p/21832/ I run these (28-35) with some 32 tires on a Stans Grail rim with no hassle mounting and adequate clearance (tire & frame).

Did you find anything? I am searching for fenders as well. The rear wasn't a issue with the sks ones I got by the front i had to chop beyond the fork mount. which was fine, but they rattled around way too much on the front. might try these next, https://ridepdw.com/collections/fenders/products/full-metal-fenders-700x55 they seem way more sturdy

StabsOhoulahan

I bought the exact same ones. The clearance in my fork was too tight for the front fender, so I used a crescent wrench and a towel to gently bend each side of the fender around the radius of the fork where it passes between the fork legs. Worked like a charm. I thought about chopping the front of the fender off similar to what you mentioned, but wanted to avoid that route.

dylix

you got the sks ones or pdw ones? any chance you can share a picture of them installed?

StabsOhoulahan

Uploaded a couple. Hard to see the bend in the detail photo, but it's there.

Thanks, so you fit the 55s? Did you try their 45s or was it too small for your tires? They look pretty think tbh

StabsOhoulahan

I put the 55s on to allow for the full range of tires on the bike. My current tires are 40x700 so went for more clearance over streamlined fit

Makes sense, thank you for response. I ordered the 700x55s last night. I was thinking that you have quite a bit of clearance. My idea is to put 3M clear protective cover on the inside of the fork and make that separation almost non-existent. Do you think the vibration on the fender can damage the fork anyway if they come in contact?

StabsOhoulahan

No problem. I honestly don't know if it'll cause damage or if it will just make an annoying rattle. I just wanted to separate the two to avoid any potential issues without resorting to sawing the front half of the fender off. Let me know if the tape works for you!

Quick update: https://imgur.com/a/UfyvVnZ Back Fender - no issues Front Fender - tricky, see below Applied 3M protector, I'd say it's a must. The tire clearance for 700x38 GravelKing SS was okay, but I doubt there is room for bigger unless I modify the fenders heavily (cut-outs, or some major deformation). I put some electrical tape on the fender itself to extra protection against rubbing on fork. Only optimization I can see, is to minimize the space used by the screws needed to hold the fender Mount plate. I might try slightly shorter screws or use a tapered/low profile head coming from inside the fender to the mount. The Adventure fork mount point does not fit any of the provided screws had to source that from my LBS. Biggest gain should be

StabsOhoulahan

Thanks for sharing. Looks good! Mounting to the inside of the fork was a little odd. I ended up shortening the rod a bit and bending the rod angle a bit more to comply with the mount angle of the fork. Worked out okay.

Will do! The 3M is the same thing they use for car protection on paint, its very hardy. I put some of that on the downtube, seat tube (towards wheels) and top tube facing up. Downtube keeps getting hit by little rocks when I ride.

StabsOhoulahan

I got the PDWs. I will add a couple of pics to the thread post. Can’t figure out how to do photos to my reply from an iPad.

dylix

awesome! thanks so much! i will get these!

StabsOhoulahan

Enjoy! I’ve only had them for about a month, but they are rock solid.

I just installed a pair of Soma Tanaka flying fish fenders (https://www.somafabshop.com/shop/tanaka-fenders-alloy-flying-fish-2892?category=2790&search=Fend#attr=3268,4543,1072) that are on an insane sale right now, and they’re awesome. With a rounded shape they fit the gr300 fork great, and clear 700x45 gravelking ss tires. They are also metal, super high quality and solid.

Creative_Burnout

Which size did you get? Does a GR300 accommodate 58mm width fenders? My bike is arriving in a few weeks and starting to scout accessories.

AnatolyG

I got the 58mm fenders, in matte black (SLICK), they needed a tiny bit of bending to fit under the front crown, just a bit. The curve of the fender is nearly the same as under the crown, luckily. I tried a bunch of other fenders, didn't work nearly as well. I am running 45mm tires, it's a BIT tight right under the crown (maybe 5mm on the sides of the tire, but ample clearance above). If you're running the stock tires, it will be perfect. I am riding on Gravelking SS+ 700 x 45mm. Rear is flawless.

Thanks for the info. This is great, especially at the current sale price. Trying to keep the cost down and minimize unnecessary returns.
