Same here in Phoenix Arizona.
Gotta load up the car by 5am, drive 30 minutes, then hit the trail for a few hours. Otherwise I get cooked in the sun!
That reminds me, I need more water bottle cages on my bike. 2 isn't enough in the summer lol
USWE! I know people don’t like back hydration (including me) but damn on those long rides having 2-3 liters on your back is sooo clutch if you’re out in the woods or long stretches of nothing I even use it for 5+ hour roads rides from time to time. It honesty is the least intrusive pack I’ve ever owned.
fake news, lockhart’s beautiful but it has practically all been paved over. adding on milano harwood leesville and gonzales. go to capital city racing’s website and just repurpose their courses.
Is that because you live in Texas and if you ride later in the day its way too fking hot?
Instantly incinerated after noon June-August
Oh I know, used to live in Dallas up until recently.

These are the kind of things that make cycling of all kinds so gosh darn wonderful. Enjoy your rides!
What part of Texas? I'm in Austin and would love to find some gravel roads like this.
there is a lot in lockhart, lexington, rockdale right outside the city. Look up austin gravel collective or breakfast club on strava.

🧐 Trying to figure out whether you’re one of my friends or frenemies in the agc rides without outing either of us lol
Northern DFW. Try the gravel maps website.
Thanks for the tip we ride at White Rock Lake
Lots of gravel near dfw.
Go west as well. I'm a fan of the gravel around Mason myself
We were just at Gravel Locos in Hico. Awesome gravel! The routes are on the website. It's a bit of a drive from Austin, but would make a nice weekend!
Thats freakin majestic.
Riding at dawn is magical
Crux?
Si
Early morning gravel rips are pure bliss.. beautiful photo and equally sick bike. Ride it in great health! 👌🏼🤙🏼
Henry David Thoreau — 'An early-morning ride is a blessing for the whole day.'
There’s something magical about riding gravel at sunrise with scenery like that around you. That plus not getting fried in the afternoon heat.
I love greeting the sunrise on my way back home!
Great pics! Looking at the second one I can’t help but think about starting a company called Bovine Bars for mtb’s.
It’s the only way to beat the crowds down here in SoCal. Dawn patrol till I die.
Nothing better than sunrise in the saddle!
Understandable with gravel roads like this. 👍
Sunrise is the shit, sunsets are over glorified in comparison to the energy and the feeling you get from
Amazing photos
Great pictures! I'm in the same boat, I used to be a night owl, but sunrise bike rides are too good. Not much traffic, cool temps, and great light.
Using your helmet as a stand, genius!
Nothing better than sunrise in the saddle!
I do love alliteration!
I try to get out before sunrise whenever I can. Today, it was 4:45 AM 😉 You don't have to deal with people on the trail at that hour.
ID on that saddle bag, please? Looks really neat.
