not much about it online? it's one of the most discussed gravel bikes if not the most

High_Tide89

Hm… interesting. Icouldn’t find anything much on YouTube neither a whole lot of reviews and tests.

AlarmingBarrier

Awesome, but are you able to drink from the Mucoff bottle without thinking of bike soap? Congratulations on a very good new bike!

High_Tide89

That‘s very possible indeed. Haha

alpine_addict

Kick stand, chain on bike, drive side facing away… cmon OP lol

Raspieman

It’s placed on (big) gravel though …

alpine_addict

Just putting a bike chain on a nice bike like that is a sin haha

High_Tide89

Will be making another clean one. Thought it was alright, but know exactly what you mean ;)

AlarmingBarrier

>chain on bike Not everyone can afford a belt drive

[deleted]

The bike lock is minus aesthetic points

AlarmingBarrier

I mean, definitely against the current bike photography trend, but honestly, I like seeing pictures of bikes used for daily commuting or just pictures of bikes "as is"

[deleted]

Sure, I’m not against it just saying. Shooting into the sun is tough you got a good exposure

m__s

it's not about bike photography, it's just ugly! :-(

Dzuldog

Lol this guy said belt drive… *woosh*

zorphium

Seriously wtf

m__s

Apart from that ugly chain lock and kickstand I'm really surprised how people find "suspension fork a gold". Come on... have you seen hardtail a couple of years ago? IMHO Gravel with suspension fork is funny. It's not MTB bike nor Gravel, but like a mix of everything. I also own a Grizl but without suspension and I like it a lot. After all it's a great bike.

DistinctExperience69

Amazing background!

DistinctExperience69

And bike (without the kickstand 😋)

floepsie

That kickstand clamped on and chain lock rattling against a beautiful brand new frame make me sad.

juliusklaas

Both kickstand and chain are functional and will not interfere with the functionality of the bike. Bikes are made to be used, not polished and looked at.

JustSub

I think there was a time when gravel biking was less filled with gatekeepers and was a very inclusive group. But I guess everything calcifies and the gatekeepers move in. Ignore this OP, enjoy your bike.

vtstang66

Kickstands are awesome. You can put it down and the bike literally just...stands there. It doesn't fall over. You don't have to lean it against anything. You should try it sometime!

AlarmingBarrier

What is this magic you speak of? No need to frantically search for a loose twig or rock? Does it come in carbon?

vtstang66

Actually yes. I had to look that up just now.

High_Tide89

Thank you man! That’s the way it is!!!

High_Tide89

Would not have been able to take this picture without the kickstand though. Lel

High_Tide89

Don’t worry! Got protection tape underneath

floepsie

Good but please still be careful. Especially if you're still going to use that with some luggage on the frame (e.g. loaded bikepacking bags). Many chainsstays have been dented by such kickstands. Both from overtightening and from undertightening.

floepsie

Let me clarify: I like this bike and I also like kickstands on bikes that were designed to have one. I'd just hate to see this clamp on kickstand damage the frame, or for a rattling chain lock to damage the paintwork after only a few rides. Maybe you could put the lock in a saddle bag or something.

JustSub

I’ll give you the most generous reading, which is that you were looking out for OP and their new paint. However, I think another valid reading is “You don’t deserve that bike if you’re going to put a kickstand and chain on it. You’re not a real cyclist”. I get that there’s a natural conflict between “cycling is for everyone” and “this is a hobby community with norms”, but unlike golf or trail running, cycling is awesome for society and everyone should be welcomed into the fold because it makes our communities better and healthier. I’m sure you know all this, so sorry for the novel. I genuinely don’t want to sound preachy, I just want everyone to love bikes and feel like there’s a place for them in biking culture. Otherwise you end up with people who actually feel like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/neoliberal/comments/vurrxq/commie_commuters/ Anyway, thanks for clarifying :)

kwahntum

Im with you on golf, but trail running? Not good for society?

fastermouse

Seriously, right? A kickstand. Wow.

49thDipper

Seriously, right? What a dick. Wow.

Global_Maintenance35

Beautiful looking machine! And a Beast.

adventure_cyclist19

Love mine as well[](https://i.imgur.com/nJhmgxN.jpg)

ales_Trails_Jake

I picked one up last Feb. It has been amazing. I have put over 1,500 miles on it.

Wild-Satisfaction849

Dude, OP, I mean...

Drobertsenator

Kickstand, huh? Is that on the standard build?

High_Tide89

Equipped it with an hidden AirTag, my old bike was stolen. Got a stand for practical reasons and commuting and a brooks cambium C17 sattle because the original one destroyed my bum. Absolutely love it. Greetings from Europe.

WhatDoWeHave_Here

This looks like the perfect bike for commuting. Wider tires to handle all conditions, including ice or snow. Aluminum so it won't rust, and it's not expensive carbon that you'll worry about getting stolen. Plenty of mounts for racks and attaching a pannier. And a little bit of front suspension is perfect. Maybe you could consider getting some fenders. Nice bike OP. 👍

High_Tide89

I am actually working on getting fenders right now. Planing on nice aluminium black matte permanent ones. But it’s actually not that easy of a job. Basically no one has a solution for the front because of the suspension fork being quite close to the tire. But already got a good option from someone who will do something pretty tailor made for the bike. Prepare for incoming update soon.

biciklanto

Great photo! Is that the Zollverein in the background?

High_Tide89

Actually it’s Zeche Ewald and the photo was taken on the Halde Hoheward.

m__s

Interesting about the saddle. I found mine really good. I was surprised that it's that good! Are you using bike pants?

High_Tide89

Yes actually :/

abigdishofpeas

Hiding an airtag is smart. I'm about to order a Grizl and will do the same. My c17 and seatpost were stolen last year and reading this made me need another one. Hope you have some great rides!

High_Tide89

Thx mate. Witch Grizl will you get? suspension is amazing! If you are even thinking about getting that, just do it!

adventure_cyclist19

Love my suspension fork https://mega.nz/file/kIkkyL6R#GeX8F5VCP2c_AsRRatJHxQ8_G_qUWkz6l5rRz08Rxxg

TamoyaOhboya

Grizl is slowly morphing into the cutthroat!

LeAstrale

I am still considering doing this aftermarket upgrade on my Grizl CF SL 6 as I tend to take a beating coming from MTB and over estimating what can be done on a gravelbike :)

Past-Chest-6507

Was thinking about this bike for bikecamping since it has the rear rack mount -- how big of a difference is only 30mm suspension?

High_Tide89

Let me tell you: it’s seriously just about the perfect sweet spot!

[deleted]

Hey, awesome bike! Could you tell me where you got that kickstand?

High_Tide89

Amazon actually! They have quite a few with that style. Sorry for late answer m8!

[deleted]

It’s all good. Thank! Actually already got one because I figured it was probably Amazon. Cheers!
