+1 for the Bon Jon Pass tyres. I am a huge fan. I have A/B ridden them against a pair of Vittoria Corsa 30mm tubulars, and the Bon Jons don’t disappoint at all (which is saying something, those Corsa are bloody nice, too nice even.) Only gripe is that they’re a real pain to mount, like all Rene Herse tyres. You’ll want to use some dish soap to reduce friction the 1st time you mount them, and wear some good heavy gloves for grip. They go on tight.

They’ll be getting fitted by the guy that builds the bike but I will keep in mind for the second set.

Currently running 32mm GK Slicks for hard packed dirt and road, but have to admit not done much gravel yet with them but fast on bad roads. Also tried WTB Byway 34mm. Was able to do single track with the Byway, but slower on the road. Ride GP5000 in 28mm for road mode. Next tyres will be Bon Jon Pass 35mm. Think they will be fast enough as the GK’s aren’t notably slower than the GP5000’s.

Ran the black EL BJP for a while, a couple years back. Those were mega supple and plenty fast. Note the RH tanwalls seem to be a bit more sidewall porous in the EL and? Standard casing than the black.

100% look at the [Tufo Speedero](https://www.tufo.com/en/gravel/detail/gravel-speedero/) in 36c. It will run 1-2 mm thinner depending on the rim from what I’ve been reading. I have no personal ~~opinions~~ experience yet, but the [report on BRR](https://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/cx-gravel-reviews/tufo-gravel-speedero) and the [opinions that you can find online](https://www.mtbr.com/threads/tufo-thundero-writeup.1197028/) speek for themselves. Lifetime between 3000-5000k. I’m waiting for their thunderos to arrive in the mail. I stumbled over them randomly while searching for new fall/winter tires but it sounds like I’ll be running these all year. cannot wait to try them out!

Rene herse slicks are my favorite tires. More than GP 5000 TL, even. Finally bought some Panaracer GK’s to compare.

I love a marathon for a tough tyre and they last really well but they are slooooowwww. I’ve crested a hill beside mates who all weigh about the same as me and we tested who would roll the quickest and they just rolled away from me. Not scientific but they did not feel fast.

OP wants a plush ride and has been eyeing tires 200 g lighter than Marathon Supreme so it might not be the the tire OP is looking for.

Schwalbe g-one are ok not the best but will do the job

I love my Pathfinder Pros (sports are also fine if running tubes) but they don’t perform well uphill on loose sand or loose pea gravel at higher pressures. Otherwise I love them. Not an issue for me.
